Vericrest is the most evil mortgage company ever! I have 9.12% Interest only loan which is amortized over 40 years and I have tried three times to modify my loan to no avail. I tried to prove through extreme hardship (Loss of income and undervalued property) and that I just cant make the mortgage. Every time I send in the documents they want more and more-- Often times they cant find what I send them. Then they just say "NO" !
They would rather us give the property back than to modify our loan. Evan though a "deed in lieu" looks better on my credit report it really lets the mortgage company off the hook for thousands of dollars in legal fees and upgrades.

Dont do a deed in lieu-- If we all stand up and fight Vericrest we will win!

When my husband lost his job it was before all these financial institutes went under, we were with wakobia bank at that time, They sold our note to Vericrest Financial. We sent them a hardship letter explaining all the facts and told them we would send as much as we could to catch up. We were told they would modify our loan and work with us, all wehad to do was keep making our regular payment for three to four months as a good faith measure to show them we were trying. So we did so. now we recieve letters stating that the payment we have been making are going towards te back balance and they now want to raise the payment to over $1200.00 to help us catch up. We cannot afford this . I am the only one working I am self employed as a painter, I only make what ever the bid is. I have busted butt just to keep my word with them now they are changing everything up. I do not want to loose my home. When we call you talk to too many different people, one hand does not know what the other is doing, now I am faceing forclosure because they lied to us. I think the Federal Government needs to check into these new home lenders who are taking homeowners payments under false pretences.

I agree that since Vericrest Financial has bought my CITI note that there is service is based on lies, threats and intimidation. They are charging me for my insurance and taxes of which they have only paid my taxes. I have asked my customer service person to connect me with the excrow dept. and both times they claim that the department cannot recieve incoming calls, but to leave a voice mail and they will respond to me within 72 hours. They never have called back. This company also informed me that they are not insured by either fannie mae of freddie mack.

I have been working on a loan modification with Vericrest since Jan 2010. It is now October 2010 and I once again have gotten foreclosure papers in the mail. I lost my job and was without work for 11 months. I maintained my payments for 5-6months and then fell behind. In january 2010 I began a new job and called to see how to get back on track. I was told I could catch up all missed payments in a 6 month period. I could not pay double so I asked for other options. I was told loan mod. I was then told it would take 6-8 weeks and asked to submit 3 documetns. 1. reason for missed payments 2. Monthly expenses 3. A letter from my Atty with salary etc. I sent all docs within 2 days and then I followed up regularly. Told same old thing...6-8 weeks... Finally in April I got someone else on the phone. They stated I was ready to go as soon as mgmt. approved. A few weeks later I was asked for another doc. which I provided... Now it is October and I am getting legal documents again. I was even told what my payment was going to be... I don't get it...

I am speechless. I've never had to deal with such a dishonest lending institution. The customer service folks are fine and they do what they can to help you BUT as soon as you need a decision made or an answer on something this is when the games begin. When you call, it's like you're speaking to someone in the twilight zone. No one tells the truth it was almost like speaking with someone working out of their basement. It was sad, they keep saying things that are not true and will not verify anything. All they do is play games. Sad/

Well guess what Vericrest changed their name, I forgot what name they are going to hide behind. Did you know there are 101 complaints against them at the Better business Bureau(BBB)? And that is not including the complaints here. You can check most of them at The Better Business Bureau web site. Just type into google Complaints against Veri Crest at the Better Business Bureau. I guess I now have to deal with them cause we signed up for a Loan Modification and Chase I guess for a punishment sent us to Vericrest but they are only our servicer our note is owned by Freddie Mac. Yeah One lady wanted to refinance to get away from them and they denied the bank she wanted to refinance with. Oh there is so much more I guess to say you will not be shocked. One lady called and asked for a deferred payment to fix her windows and was told yes, then about a month later they started foreclosure on her house. Well if anyone has a problem with them or any business for that matter they should report it on the Better Business Bureau website, I did for time warner and it was taken care of they took money out of my bank account after I canceled cable and turned everything in. All because I had direct payment. I never got my money back they gave it to me as credit cause I still had my Internet through them. They took out $130 dollars. When I find out there new name I will let you know.

The other day I told them the guy on customer service that they are evil, he said I'm sorry you feel that way and I told them I did not say that some people on line who complained about you said that. I also said there are 101 complaints at the BBB on them. And I asked why they are so down right mean. I was upset cause they would not let us pay our mortgage on the phone cause we are behind one month we have to send it by mail I never heard that before. I asked them because of all those complaints is not that why you changed your name? The reason they wanted us to pay by mail is cause we tried to pay on phone on the 15th which is the last day of our grace period(I had been sick on week did not want to deal with them). They wanted late charges. So the next day we called to get how much with late charges and were told we did not have to pay it(late charges) I'm hoping I got through to them probably cause I told him off and said the only reason you are doing this is to get late charges, . I also told them that if they wanted more people to finance through them they should treat people better, you get more bees with honey than with something bitter like they are.
