food
On March 2, 2017, at 8:00 pm, I went to the VI on Havana Street in Aurora, Colorado.
I ordered a n Ultimate Skillet from the menu. The host/waiter was very sociable.
The food was ready very quickly which was nice because it was late and do was very hungry.
Ok, so what is my complaint?
The food was horrible I mean horrible.
The only things that I was able to eat on the skillet were the two eggs and the pancakes which were freshly cooked.
The rest of the food tasted like it was left over from a couple of days ago.
The diced potatoes were hard, very hard and cold.
The sausage was all shriveled up and the bacon was hard.
I could not east the food.
I did not complain at the time, but when I returned home, I decided someone has to care about this, because form me it is my last experience at VI.
I used to frequent VI for years on a regular basis, but have not been there in years. I was enticed to go by your 25% off coupon I received in the mail.
no meat on reuben sandwich
Ordered a reuben sandwich, sandwich had less than 2 Oz meat so I called over the waitress. I showed her sandwich had little meat and asked for manager. I did not want to send sandwich back and just requested the meat that should be on the sandwich and the pregnant assistant manager came out and told me I would have to pay for the extra meat. I refused to pay extra for meat that should have been on the 10 dollar sandwich. It was embarrassing and I will not return to this location.
horrible service
[protected] placed a pick up order. Asked when would be a good time for a late order not to be to much trouble was told 11 pm I went ahead and put in my order for pick up at 9 pm. I placed my order and asked for the total I was put on hold for 10 minutes and got disconnected I called back 3 times and no answer. I went to Village Inn there were no customers so no excuse for no answer. I said I was there to pick up my order I placed 30 minutes ago the manager Wes told me it was not submitted yet and walked off. I was trying to be nice to place an early order and they threw it back in my face to disrespectful I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB unless this can be fixed so unprofessional!
seeing a supervisor sexually harass two different male employees
My family and I had went in for dinner on monday december 19th 2016 fist encounter was when our server joe came over to take our order when the supervisor john was standing behind him acting like he was having sex with from behind when our server noticed he elbowed him and told him to never to do that again. Then a few minutes later heard him telling another male server how he wanted to grab him by his long hair and to f him so hard from behind and how he would suck his dick. Not only was I offended but my wife was so embarrassed. Then my 12 and 14 year old boys was asking why he would talk like that in front of customers. Needless to say I will not ever go in there to eat again as long as he works for the company. We usually eat here twice a week. I really hope that they get rid of this guy. These male employees should be able to go to work and not feel uncomfortable.
management and wait staff
VI on Causway and Providence in Brandon FL. I used to love this restaurant, but the staff has all changed and now it's horrible. We were seated quickly and were able to order in a timely fashion, but we waited forever for our food when they weren't busy at all. The waitress brought our food and my feancé's order was wrong, but since it was still a hamburger we didn't realize until our receipt came and it was more expensive than it was supposed to be. Throughout our meal our waitress was a bit rude as well, so at this point we were very displeased. We brought our problem with the receipt up with the women we pay with, someone other than the waitress, and she went to go get her manager. The manager, Paula, was rude and dismissive and had a completely bad attitude. She was actually reminding me of my five year old niece. She did fix our bill, but then she waved us off after that like she was pawning us off on someone else. After we paid we found her again and told her that we didn't appreciate her attitude towards us and her response was that she didn't know how to use the register and that's why she left (How dose a manager not know how to use their own systems?). We told her that was fine, but she didn't need to treat us the way she did and her response was that we ate the food so we should pay for it and that the waitress said that not only did my feancé order the other hamburger, but I said so too, so that's why she was being that way and then she threw is a Merry Christmas as we were leaving as if that would help. I did not say anything about my feancé's order other than that the tomato needs to be on the side and the fries needed low salt, which they messed up anyway, because he always forgets to add that and it really bothers me that the manager would take the waitress's word as absolute fact anyway. Tried calling, left a message, hopefully they call back.

manager's service
At the village inn off of Austin bluffs we received our food with hair in it. They remade the meal of course but did not offer any sort of discount off the meal even though by the time we got the corrected meal our family was finished eating. We had to ask for them to make things right and even then the manager, Peter, only offered 10%. Very disappointed in the service we received. Won't return.
poor service, food, and lack of safety concerns
Tonight [protected]) I took my Mom to eat dinner at the VI in Lakewood, CO.
The manager was the first person to deal with us and he was very unwelcoming in his tone and all he said was wait.
We both ordered French Dip sandwiches. The meat was dry, and the dipping sauce was grossly over salted. We were snever asked if everything was ok. I had to go back to the kitchen to find the waitress for a to go box.
During our visit some strange creepy-looking Asian guy was lurking around our booth. He would move around from the cash register area, to the tv, to the kitchen and by our booth again. No one seemed to talk to him and he seemed quite agitated/angry. I did see the Mgr talk to him, but he was never seated or told to leave. I'm thinking Luby Cafeteria massacre!
When I went to the kitchen to get my to go box I expressed my concern about the malingerer. I said the police should be called and I told her I was afraid.
Our bill was +$22. And when I went to pay the mgr was no where in sight. I was exceedingly afraid at this point. I got a $20 from my Mom, and we left the $20 on our table and we left.
Problem re-cap: bad food, bad service, bad manager and no show of concern for their customers safety!
manager-sonny
I was eating with my family on this day and I go to eat there pretty often. I will probably not return after I saw this manager do nothing but belittle her staff and fire one of the cooks. I used to go in and feel like I was at home. Charlie knew me by name and I always had great service. This manager is always short with customers and consistently treats her employees like they are nothing. I have noticed a lot of the other customers that used to always be there have stopped and most that I see tell me it is because of her. The fastest way to sink a ship is with a bad captain and she is horrible.
made daily
I am 51 years old and only work a VI obviously not for the money but enjoy preparing food. I also understand there is an ethical and moral responsibility that goes with it. This store I work at is out of control. Fresh and Daily have different meanings . One been Corp. and the other our gen mngr. If cream pies become dated we scrape the old cream off and re top w/ new whip cream and fruit pies roll over and over till they can be sold on pie rush weds. Fruit pies for weds pie rush are often made on mon. if there are not enough left overs to fill par. This and the total anarchy that is allowed I put in my 2 weeks and while explaining to asst mngr why was told (exact words ) shut up and stop talking and admit I lost my cool and told her in reply to shut the f up herself and for that am not allowed to fulfill my 2 week notice and take it I was fired. this is the text msg for wayne the g.m. Show this to Wayne : 7:00 Wess are we going to get help because Harley is not here again. No answer from Wes so I went to Brooklyn and said I have a problem and before I could tell her she replied I dont want to hear it just go to the kitchen.. This boiled on for the night and when I was done I gave her my two weeks and said you wonder why the cooks talk to you the way they do ... well its because of the way you talk to them and Wayne is smart enough to see the pattern of why people only seem to have a problem with brooklynn. Her reply was shut up Matt and just stop talking, my reply was why dont you shut the hell up...see ya. I cant work when Im the only one trying to follow the rules. I dont care any more and begining to think this is not a good work place for me. Some one is going to go postal in this place. Anger and attitude fly around like it is the norm. Every man for them self and dont disturb what they have going on. You got one cook who thinks he runs the place and so busy telling people what to put down he cant keep up with his own work, one cook who tries to be invisible walks off the line with orders up just to go smoke. you got one cook who is great but dont care any more due to the same frustrations but is willing to put up with it because he can just do what he wants. I need structure and it is not here. I need a mngr I can go to and not be told to go away, I need a work place where people talk to each other in civil tones. I need a work place where rules are for every one. Wayne you can call me after 8:00 if you think this can be resolved if not I thank you for the opportunity to get back to work it has helped with where I was. I have some self esteem now and know my worth and it is worth more than to be talked to like a dog and be told I dont want to hear it go to the kitchen...
PS I can go into detail on how exp product not only pies are re dated. Most all these claims are on video and can be confirmed if anybody wants to contact me for details dates times ect.
I am complaining about my experience with working with village inn
To begin with, the staff is very! Unprofessional.
The cook not only came to work high on drugs and harassing the entire female staff, but also a drug dealer who's selling his products right outside the restaurant, keep in mind are manager is well aware of this.
The dishes are almost always filthy.
There has been times are manager allowed an old pie to be served to the customers.
One of the mangers *key* has a sister that serves at village inn, I watched her clock her sister in and out many times her sister wasn't even at work.
To qualify as a server you must first take and pass this village inn test, there so unprofessional they hired half are staff as servers without taking the test...they don't give the staffs breaks.
They also take 40 cent out of every hour unfortunately.
Seems like this is a common problem . I also worked at a village inn and could not stand the work atmosphere that was allowed. People telling Mngr to f@$# off and get out off my face and depending who you are it is allowed. Watched and participated in getting high while cooking on the line. Yep I admit it. I'm a recovering addict and thinking I was going to a safe work place and ended up putting myself back in the thick off using. Watched cooks deliver food to parking lot while orders are waiting to be cooked, Have had asst mngr have me cook their family dinner (in the middle of dinner) to take home and it never come across the order screen. I'm talking 8 hamburgers at $ 9.00 each. Although mngrs and supervisors eat free does that mean their family does also ? Was directed by the gen. mngr never throw anything away we can save it and he will tell me if we can "re date" it. As far as "fresh" pies go... they are fresh when they warm them up (all pies are frozen just heat fruit pies or whip cream cold pies) but by time you get them its dated. Made on mon and pulled weds a.m. relabel to pull on fri relable pull on sun for prep on mon added to fresh pies been made for weds. pie rush. I know this is not corp policy but is been done. ALL THESE COMMENTS CAN BE VERIFIED BY VIDEO .
management
I used to work at the Village Inn in Craig, CO. I was being sexually harassed by the new kitchen manager. I told my general manager and showed him the texts. My district manager was also aware and nothing really got done about it. I am not the only female employee there that this has happened to. I have proof though. My husband called him and confronted him about the texts and he stopped after that but then he was being rude to me. The way things are run there are two sided and favoritism plays a big factor. The rumors are outrageous. Any other businesses I know he would have been fired but since they paid a lot of money to get the new kitchen manager transferred it just got swept under the rug. A lot of really good people have left because of the new management. It's sad because it's a small town and word has already gotten around about the Village Inn here. I hope maybe corporate will look into this and realize how damaging the current management is there.
dishes not exactly clean
I frequent the Altoona, Iowa restaurant but today I noticed the dishes weren't exactly clean. About the time I was noticing this I heard from the kitchen area, "We're outta soap again, second time in a week." I haven't worked at a restaurant since being a teen, but isn't the management's job to order supplies? I'm over 50 and that's the way it use to be, along with my now type work.
Wow. You've got to be kidding me. Making excuses for a business that would serve food one would pay for in a restaurant, on a dirty plate. Thanks for the life lesson, lol. I'll take my food on a clean plate, no excuses. Order soap.
poor management and training of employees.
My "new" salad I ordered came with NO salad dressing... attempting it while trying to get my waitress's attention was not very pleasant. This was at Village Inn Las Cruces- Valley Road. My family was completing their meal (my daughter stopped because her pancakes were undercooked - when they came out they were "sorry" looking with 4 small cut strawberry's and a few nuts- not at all how the menu described)! I waited for OVER 40 minutes for salad dressing, while my food sat in front of me- (chicken on salad was now cold). There was NEVER an apology, or explanation until I Walked up to the kitchen door to GET SOME HELP/service. The manager explained they were waiting for dressing from another restaurant and he seemed Very Annoyed while explaining this to me, AND NEVER Apologized. When I mentioned my daughter couldn't eat her pancakes - our service got even worse! We saw our waitress only one more time, and the manager NEVER again. There were very little patrons at this time! I paid the full bill and was very upset because we drove across town to this new location- to have different experience than the one near our house. I've had poor service at another location in El Paso on Redd road- the manager was sarcastic, rude and did not help us out either! I paid a full bill for 5 people after our waiter disappeared completely for our entire meal! The excuse was ridiculous & the manager seemed annoyed as well, when we finally complained. Like I've told others before, Denny's has BETTER FOOD, MANAGMENT, and oversell customer service! I have given up on village inn completely!
manager/hostess & waitresses
09/28/2016-Took my elderly father to this restaurant, after his Dr.'s appt. Upon entering the restaurant, the woman that had on a manager name tag, that was acting as a hostess, her name was Rhonda! When we took a few steps into this restaurant, my fathers legs became weak, I told her his legs were going out on him, and her reply was "Just a moment I'm talking with someone" I wondered to myself, did it not matter to her if someone fell in the restaurant? The restaurant was slow as it could be, possibly maybe 15 other customers in the whole restaurant.
It was "Free Pie Wednesday"...what my father got was a piece of slop, that barely had any filling, and it was slowly falling while we watched it. Looked like something left over from the day before. My brother joined us, for his free piece of pie, and a vanilla milkshake, and was not given the extra milkshake in the blender container, as he was given at the Pensacola Village inn 2 weeks prior. When we checked out, I told Rhonda we would not be back. She had no care what so ever for elderly patrons, and major attitude. I believe another manager dropped in...a young man, he heard my complaint, said nothing, like it did not matter if they had customers or not. My brother had to ask for a tea refill for me. Poor, poor customer service.
So, since it didn't matter to them if we came back or not...we wont be back! Now I see why the restaurant had little to no business. Especially, giving free pie away and still no customers? Get a clue somebody! For real.
My name is Priscilla Markgraf. Cris handed me her card when I asked if I could apply for a part time job. Working any hours! My friends, husband and I go into your lovely restaurant every Wednesday for coffee and pie! Love it!
I would like an opportunity to work at your place in Pace FL.
Being a retired real estate broker, owning my own business before retirement, I must say that I am quite bored sitting at home. Even going site seeing, dining, swimming, some travel, etc is not the same as having a job!
Therefore if your interested in calling me, please feel free to as I believe that I would be an asset in your business!
My credentials and experience has always been able to work with others well even under any stress.
Before my career in Real Estate I managed offices and also did do some Hostess positions. Which I really enjoyed!
Thank You. Priscilla Markgraf. 5217 Rowe Trail, Pace, Fl. 32571. [protected]
service
My wife and I visited village inn, in Goodyear on Monday Sept 05, 2016 to receive the worst customer service experience. The worker who approached us was very rude and seem like she was in a rush to do other things. We asked if we can sit in one specific area in the restraurant and it seem like it was a problem. We will never be visiting village inn in that area again. I believe her name was LISA, If your going to greet guest make sure you do it in a calm respectful manner .
food special
My wife and I went to the Village Ill in Fort Collins Co. on August 12th 2016 for the all you can eat fish dinner. First it took 15 min. to get a server. By the way, the restaurant only had about 6 customers. After we ordered our fish it took 25 min to get our food. When it came all there was, was batter. NO FISH. I asked about this and they said they ran out of fish. I asked why would the cook send out nothing but batter, they said they didn't know. I was told they had a rush of people. As I said there were only 6 customers in at the time. The special starts at 5:00 P M We were there at 5:30 P M. I asked if they could substitute an other type of fish and they said no. I ordered a cheese burger and it was dripping with grease, couldn't eat it and left it there. VERY VERY unprofessional
service received at store #110170
I usually got to store 110170 located at 4775 Kipling street on the weekends. I enjoy the quick service and the good food. This visit was not any different. The one thing I feel I need to bring to your attention is related to safe food handleing. Our server Aryssa who waited on us on July 10, 2016 at approximately 11 am had very long nails. Her nails were touching my eggs and saw her serve the table next to me while her nails were in the green chili. Working in the food business for many years, I was always helps to specific standards to maintain safe food handleing and healthy appeal. The young lady's nails are approximately two inches long and it truly look gross when she is serving you the food you ordered while her nails are deep in your food. I truly hope you bring this issue to her and to her management's attention.
Thank you,
Ghada
Get off this site and tell them directly. The odds of anyone from that place seeing this are slim to none.
entire dining experience was shameful
Wednesday, July 6, 2016 I took my parents to the Village Inn on McKellips Road in Mesa, AZ. We arrived there 11:50 am and were seated by the cashier/hostess. When she laid our menus down she said "Ashley will be with you as soon as she can she is busy" We had no idea it was going to be almost 20 minutes before she would come to our table, and that was only to get our drink order. Then another delay in her bringing the drinks: 2 ice tea's. She then said she needed to take an order from another table "They have been here for awhile". My dad took his glass of tea and took a taste, I could see it was VERY pale. "This tastes like water. No flavor" he said. When Ashley finally came back to our table she took our order and I told her about the tea. "I saw the tea was low so I added to it" "I could make a new batch. Do you want me to bring another glass" YES and we placed our order, assuming our meals would come out in a timely manner. WRONG! We again waited. Finally someone else carried out the meals. She noticed immediately that there was an error on my dad's meal. He asked for over medium and got scrambled. That waitress offered to take care of it, but Ashley came over and said there was no error. Guess what! the other waitress showed her the ticket clearly showing over medium. Our food was not hot but by that time, almost 50 minutes, we needed to eat. The pancakes that came with the 2x2x2 were over cooked or had been under the heat lamp too long and could not be cut properly, even with a knife. We then asked for a cup of coffee, the 2nd glass of tea was not much better, tasteless. Finished eating and were waiting AGAIN when a person(man) came to the area where we were sitting and chatted as he seemed to clean a table. "Sorry about the wait there was a problem with the staff." He mumbled something about not getting along and walked away. Ashley got our pie order, to go, and disappeared AGAIN. I finally got up and went to the wait staff entry. There were lots of them in there. A dark skinned waiter asked if he could help. Asked for a to go box and told him we had been waiting for our pies and check. He immediately acted and soon Ashley came to the table. As she gave us the check she said "OH I didn't charge you for the coffee" You think you should charge after both ice tea's were NOT drinkable. It did not stop there. Went to pay for the meals and the Cashier, same one that seated us, asked how everything was. My mom responded "We have been here since 11:50 and now it is almost 1:20" Cashier response "Well that's the way it is on free pie Wednesday" WOW! I asked for business card to contact the Corporate office and was told " We don't have any. Just go on line".
Desirable resolution: Train the staff, try getting more qualified team members that understand what good customer service is and how it effects customers returning. Send a Gift card for my parents to use at a different Village Inn. The meals and tip were just under $49.00 for the 3 meals. They address is: M/M J Connelly, 6910 E Halifax Drive, Mesa, AZ 85207. My phone number: [protected], my name is Patricia.
Let me guess...it was busy. And an hour and a half for a meal start to finish is nothing. Heck, we talk longer than that.
management/employee relations
On 5/28/2016
As my wife and I arrived at the Village Inn in Pace, Florida, around 7:30 a.m. on May 28, we observed a young man having a slightly heated discussion with a woman we guessed by her manner of dress to be the restaurant manager. it was impossible to avoid hearing him accusing her of not keeping the books in the manner he had told her to and her reply that she was doing it the way she had understood him to mean. The discussion continued as we walked past them toward the entrance door. This display and manner of addressing an employee problem left my wife and me feeling uneasy and embarrassed for the employee who was being dressed down publicly at the front walkway into the restaurant.
Later, as we waited for our meal, my wife went to the ladies room. When she returned she pointed out a waitress who was trying to wipe the tears from her face. My wife told me that while in the ladies room the same woman who was being dressed down in front of the store had a discussion with that server about transferring her to the V.I. at Cordova Mall in Pensacola. The server was unhappy about the move, and the manager explained that she was chosen because of her "tech savvy."
When my wife exited the stall, the manager explained that she was having a private discussion with the server about training. It is not a private discussion when it is done in the public rest room and there is a customer present!
As a prior manager myself, I was trained that you never deal with individual employee issues in front of other employees and never ever is it done in public!
As we were leaving, I asked for the young man's name. I was told his name is Cris Titze, and I was also told he is the owner's son. Regardless of his position, someone from corporate needs to contact him and do some serious employee relations and customer training with both this gentleman and the staff.
Surely some consideration should be given to finding an appropriate time and private place for such store-related meetings and discussions. Customers should never need to be privy to staff problems, disagreements, or gossip when they come for a relaxing meal.
Ladymask, yelling and cussing does not make your food spoil. Perhaps you would like some information on food poisoning.

I want to Village Inn with my boyfriend we heard from the kitchen a lot of yelling and cussing after we ordered our food I ordered the BLT sunny side up I ended up getting food poisoning I'm still going through it it's almost been 24 hours.. I'm sorry but I will never get out of Village Inn ever again and I will let people know about my experience.

Simply put, this was none of your business, and if it bothered you that much, you could have left. Customers should mind their own affairs when dining out. Had you and your wife been the ones with the issues you would be saying that the employees should mind their business.
