pre order pie
I went on line and order a Coconut Cream pie for my Grandson's 16th birthday and was to pick it up he day of His Big Day, guess what? They did not have my order from on line and had to scramble to see if they had one in freezer for me. Well thank goodness they did. I forgot my confirmation that I printed out at home and So when I got home I called to let them know I had it and I had the right location. The lady on the phone told me that i should maybe call because it is after the holidays and the online probably were not looked at since, I guess after the holidays, there are no Special Events. (well how about Birthdays, Anniversary, etc.) Very disappointed, you should never have to call, because in my food business, we call the customer to confirm their orders. Terrible! i WILL NOT ORDER FROM VILLAGE INN AGAIN! This happened on Jan 4, 2016
loud vaccuming during lunch
On Dec. 1st, 2015, my wife and I decided to have lunch at the Village Inn restaurant located at 215 North Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa, Florida and will never go there again. After waiting for a long period on time, our order finally arrived, and after eating for about 5 minutes, the cleaning lady decided to vacuum on both sides of our table. Very loud and...

Don't eat at the Village inn in South Des Monies IA. The dishes aren't clean. The food comes to you cold. The sever forgot our drinks. She went to get them but never came back with them. The side order of broccoli was brown. Also when she comes out with our food she informs us that they was out of dinner rolls. And said they had to make more. (Right) We tried to eat the food. But have you ever tried to eat cold gravy it's gross. When we go to pay the lady asked how it was. I was thinking good someone that cares about there customers . I told her it was bad. She wanted to know what was wrong, and where we was sat. We showed her. She became snotty you don't have to pay. JUST LEAVE. Instead of feeling great when leaving this restaurant we was frustrated about what had just happened . We would of rather of gotten good food and good service and paid for it. Never will we ever eat there again.
bad food+ grumpy waitress= never again
It is September 5, 2015 and I just got home from one of the worst experiences I have ever had at my regular Village Inn. We asked for a table, got put in a booth(in an empty restaurant), and when our waitress showed up to get our drink order, she never once looked at us or smiled. When she came back, we told her we were not ready just yet to order our meals... she never came back. 15 minutes later, we motioned for the lady at the counter to come over saying that we never got to order. 5 minutes later our original waitress came back and rudely asked us what we wanted. We told her and we never saw her again. It was the assistant manager who brought our food and refilled our drinks. Anyway, when I got my meal (what I always get) the turkey breast was crumpled and it looked like someone had just hurriedly thrown all my meal's contents on a plate. The turkey still had all its rubbery fat and nasty parts on it too..that has never happened to me before. Needless to say, with the poor service and sloppy meal, I will not be going back. I hope that they fire that girl for making the assistant manager do her job.

Went to Village Inn today for my free piece of pie. I was seated and no one came over to take my order. The waitress finally went to some older folks across from me and I heard them tell her I had been waiting for a while. She came over, asked what I wanted. I asked if they had sugar free pie (I am diabetic) and she said yes apple. I said I would have that, coffee and water. I waited a few minutes and she brought my coffee and water. Waited and waited and finally got my pie. I took a few bites from it and started to look at the top of the pie. It had sugar crystals on it. Waitress finally came over after about 8 minutes and I asked her if it was sugar free. She said no do you want the other pie? Really. I specifically asked for sugar free. When I got home my sugar was about 300. NOT GOOD. That is a very dangerous mistake.

We got our food except my husbands. The waitor said the chef had to make it again. My husband got his food and it was still wrong. the waitor forgot all the rest of our food we ordered. We had to keep asking if he got the pancakes and sausage and bacon. My sausage came out cold he never brought me my sausage he said would. The food came out and was still...

I consider myself to be pretty level- headed and not quick to jump the gun, however the Village Inn on Ken- Caryl and c470 has horrible service and I swear some, not all, of the staff are crack heads. This is the third occasion where my order has been royally messed up to the point where they brought me the completely wrong meal altogether. Furthermore, never has a waitress offered my compensation in the form of a refund for totally messing up my order and having me wait close to twenty minutes extra while my company eats their meal. Additionally, the waitress seemed to feel like some if this was my fault and her attitude complimented that feeling. I'm not going to lie, I come here quite often and can't help but notice the behavior of the evening staff. Frequent trips to the bathroom and sporadic behavior and conversation has lead me and others to believe a few if the staff are definitely on something. All In all, I don't usually do this but I believe in good service, and I hold myself to the same standards. Some of the staff here are unprofessional and rude and I don't recommend this location. I certainly know that the is my last visit

This was my second time @ Dale Mabry fl..first time was free pie day, and they charged me for both that we did not want, always check the bill.No money's was returned. Oh! Yes We didn't even get pie. Do not order the Shepard pie it' s a pound of potatoes instance at that!, , The manager sucked rude, and I can’t a person to vent my frustration . Most of us take the bad service, quality, , attitude, and just rude service. But this is my first complaint, but it will now happen at the restaurant next time. Here's a good laugh I worked at Village Inn when I first moved here. I am a consumer hear my roar .. Thank you if you read this,
manager appeared intoxicated
Usually I absolutely adore going to this cute little diner and I have never, ever experienced anything like this at this resturant or at any other resturant but tonight, things were running a little slow, which is unusual, at least in my past experiences. Anyway, I called my waitress over and asked how long she thought it would be until my party and I recieved our food. In a sarcastic tone she snapped back "let me go check" while letting out a HUGE sigh. Being offended I asked to speak to her manager. Next thing I knew, I had this "kid" who was easily half my age and who absolutely wreaked of beer/alcohol stumble over to me to ask what was the problem. Thank goodness he was not the aggressive drunk type or else I dont know what could've happened. He should not have been at work and he sure as heck shouldn't be in a management position. Village Inn lost a LONG TIME CUSTOMER tonight.

Suggestive sales excessive
My wife tells me she went down to Village Inn June 8 2012 to order a Cobb Salad to go and the manager there asks: "Would you like some pie?", she says no, and he asks (according to my wife) "are you sure?" Now this makes her angry and I already got on this store for doing that. Then on her way out he says "we'll see you on Wednesday for free pie". Village...

In the last three visits to this restaurant I have been disappointed by lackluster preparation of food, missing ingrediants, undercooked, and small portion size. The staff seems from High School and the manager moves furniture by using his feet to kick high chairs to the side to appropriate space. The same items found on identicale menu's can be found...
Read full review of Village Inn Restaurantsbotched eggs benedict twice
I have seen over the past few years a decline in Village Inn Customer service and food quality, in the late 70s a friend turned me on to Eggs Benedict and the only place that made it good was Village Inn it was one of their signature dishes. A new restaurant opened up in Altoona so we went there at first the service and food was good but in the last year it has gone down hill. Six months ago I ordered Eggs Benedict and I told the server make sure the eggs are poached soft the way they're supposed to be but when they arrived they were hard as rocks so I sent them back again saying that the eggs needed to be soft but when they came back the eggs weren't poached they were fried and hard again.
I'm not the shy or timid type and I was starting to get heated so I sent them back again pointing out that this is supposed to be a VI signature dish and gave the server instructions on how the dish was to be served but when it came back for a third time the eggs were poached but again hard as rocks. I told him that I had no intentions of paying for their mistake and ordered a hamburger instead.
Fast-forward to tonight the day before Thanksgiving the only reason we went back was to pick up a pie (which they were out of) but no matter I thought I would give VI one last try thinking that maybe the chefs had been changed, nope no such luck the eggs were again hard as rocks even after I explained to the waitress to poach them soft, I sent them back and they returned in the same condition poached hard as a rock. This is the last time I will eat at The Village Inn, I demanded and received the charge for the dish be taken off of our check.
discrimination
We were eating breakfast, there was a manager going aroung asking every table how their breakfast was, when he got close to our table he passed us up and went to the table behind us and all the other table s which every other table beside ours was caucasion. I told my mother "its because we are hispanic" She agreed, I thought racism was not bad anymore...

As a disabled person, its dfficult for me to get out and a about...it's a treat to dine out with a friend but I had that chance yesterday and we went to Village Inn here in Colorado Springs, CO. When I paid for me bill using my debit card, I wrote a note on the receipt that the TIP was a "cash tip" and wrote a slash (zero) amt. in the tip portion of my bill. Instead, they charged me not only the $10.83 for my meal but also $10.83 for the tip as well. My bill came to 21.66...DOUBLE what it should have been.
When I got home, I noticed the next morning that they double charged me and called them. The manager wanted me to "come in" so he could fix it. Hmmmm...why would I have to come in, dragging in my oxygen tank and cane ...this is a hardship for me. They did appologize over the phone. Okay...that's nice but if I were the manager, I would surely offer a piece of pie or cup of coffee or something gratis for the considerable trouble I have to go through. Next time, I'll just call my bank and dispute the charges and let the bureauacracy work it out instead of me. Seems like Village Inn just says, "Oh, sorry 'bout that..." and that's pretty much it...People don't give a hoot what trouble they put you through.

poison food
If you go to the Village Inn in West El Paso for breakfast you'll be sorely disappointed, and you might even get food poisoning! For me, third time was definitely not the charm. All three times I went to the Mesa St. restaurants, I was served a cold breakfast, and every time I had to send the breakfast back to be reheated. I complained to management, but they just gave me excuses. Needless to say I will never set foot in a Village Inn restaurant again. When in El Paso, go to McDonalds for breakfast. You get a better value for the price.

Ill agree Village Inn sucks!
I'd contact your county's health department if you feel they are in violation of how they handle and prepare their food.
cold food!
I went to Village Inn with my brother and a friend. I ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes. We were eating and having a fund time but when I went to eat the chicken, it was ice cold. I wasn't going to say anything a first because I'm really not the type to complain but my brother called our waitress over and told her my chicken was cold. It wasn't even that it was luke warm as if it has been sitting out for a while, it was ice cold like it had not been cooked properly! Very sanitary. Anyways, the waitress says she will get the manager. After a few minutes, a woman walks over, doesn't identify herself as the manager or anything and asks if we need anything. Assuming she was just another waitress who wanted to refill our soda or whatever, we say no.
As soon as she walks away, I start to wonder if that was the manager so I ask our waitress to send her over again. She comes back over, I tell her that the chicken is ice cold. What I can't get over is her response to my complaint. She said "You didn't say anything the first time I came over so the most I will do is put it in the microwave." It had been maybe a couple minutes since she had been over the first time. I didn't even know what to say to that. She did say she would get me something else, but I would have to pay for both meals. Of course I ended up paying for the chicken because what else was I supposed to do, but I've told all my friends and family about it and they were just as disgusted as I was and said they will never eat there again!
I have a pay stub for 27 hours I called my boss said the pay was right I didn't recieve a penny of my paycheck please exolain why also I have my time card proving I worked these hours. If you would like to see it
Today three of us visited the Castle Rock Co resturant. Our waiter, Diana was awesome, took our separate orders and was so polite. We definitely plan on coming back on a regular basis. Our breakfast was cooked to perfection. Great employee
I forgot give this 5 stars
I seen the workers smoking what appears to be crystal meth in parking lot overheard a convo being held about a they get it from a gentleman name jack
Every time we go in the general manager is too busy either screaming at or bullying the employees. She wouldn't even come out to talk about their food mistake after asking to speak to the manager. Very unprofessional and we will not be back!
Purchased a pie from Village Inn in Omaha Nebraska 132nd street. Was very disappointed when I opened the pie and saw an entire space without pecans. When purchasing a pie it would be nice to have the entire pie have pecans. Not the first time this has happened just hate the disappointment.
While dining at the Village Inn in Suffolk on College Drive I overheard the general manager (Iris) stating that she was going to fire the 4 pregnant employees due to the fact she was tired of them using the restroom due to their pregnancy, if nothing is done about this situation I will be contacting the EEOC to help these young women.
MY Husband and a friend and i went to village inn and I ordered a turkey dinner which came out no cranberrys and no dressing as pictured in the menu .THEY dont want to give the customer what they ordered they should not get a TIP! ! THIS HAPPENED AT THE ONE ON DODGE STREET IN Omaha, nebraska
