ridgemont store
Today, I had a demeaning experience at the Ridgemont store. For four years, I shopped at the Canandaigua store, and never had one issue with personnel.
The cashiers refuse to listen when you tell them to pack a bag at a light to medium weight. I have encountered at least four rude ones thus far. Today, one berated me for paying for my order in two transactions.
The women at the customer service desk are very rude, and snap when they feel like it.
Lastly, while I was waiting for the free bus, a worker tried TWICE to remove a bag I had on one of the chairs as it did not fit into my shopping cart.
I think someone to take a good look at the way this store operates.
produce
I purchase produce at least twice a week. The quality has not been up to it's usual.
In particular, on 6/27 I bought zucchini, apples and a red pepper. All three were spoiled by 6/30.
This is not the first experience like this that I have had in recent months.
I love your store but this is making me rethink where I should get my produce.
I don't know what the resolution would be but felt you needed to be aware.
I shop at the Perinton location.
My email address is [protected]@gmail.com if you wish to give a response.
sub shop tuna fish
On 6/18/19 I went to the Sub Shop in Latta Road in Rochester Ny, hoping for my usual Tuna Fish, and found out that you no longer make your tuna fish, instead you buy tuna fish with celery in it, I dislike celery very much especially in my tuna fish. So I had to pick something else, I was very disappointed. I won't be coming back due to the tuna fish being the only sub I truly enjoy. I hope you can bring it back.
Thank you for your time,
Aryen Ingersoll
sub and bakery dept
I know longer go to these depts the other morning before 9am was told no more bagels today we only make so many really? Now I was reminded today of just what the summer is beginning to look like already had this same problem last year I was told at 3pm no bread for subs. If u know u run out wouldnt u think to pull more for the following day... I had to...
Read full review of Wegmans Food Marketsjumbo ricotta and spinach ravioli
I opened this package today and it says to open by tomorrow. All of the ravioli was moldy and hard. I could not cook it and had to throw it away. I'm not sure why this won't let me submit this without it being 350 characters but that is all I have to say. It made my daughter upset because she was really looking forward to her ravioli for lunch. What a shame.
hornell pharmacy
Called wegmans at approximately 8 pm to see if my prescription was ready was told it would be in 15 to 20 minutes arrived a half hour later was told it wasn't ready yet then she said oh wait we won't have that until tomorrow. I then told her that's funny because I just called at 8 pm and was told it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. Then she wanted to know who I talk to told her I didn't remember. She then proceeded to tell me when you call the local pharmacy you don't talk to anyone there you talk to someone that doesn't even work there? Hmm red flag. I then told her I was going to file a complaint with corporate and find somewhere else to get my prescription's this has happened several times. So I then went back to pick up a pamphlet to file a complaint and the pharmacist told she was sorry but also wanted to know who I spoke to when I called told her the same thing that I didn't remember the lady name and didn't realize I should take notes when I call. So just a red flag to you all!
bakery
WHY does the bakery department say their products are FRESH when some of these items have actually been FROZEN and then placed on display for sale? I picked up several FROZEN containers of scones that had not yet hawed completely. When I questioned someone as to why things are not freshly baked that day I was told they are and that nothing is frozen before offering to the customer for sale. That is disgusting and misleading to treat customers like that, we are not idiots. The same thing happens in the meat department with their chicken. NOTHING should be frozen and thawed before sale without notifying the public that it has been done!
sub shop
I ordered subs today
The cost of a large turkey sub is $10
The cost of a large roast beef sub is $10
I have twins and 1 wants 1/2 roast beef sub and 1 wants 1/2 turkey
I asked to have the large sub 1/2 turkey and 1/2 roast beef as the cost is the same
They refused and made me buy 2 medium subs so wegmans can make extra money
I find this absolutely ridiculous given the cost of both are the same
For people on a budget this makes me want to not purchase foood from wegmans
mountain trail mix
I have been buying the big bag of mountain trail mix for several years now. In my opinion it is one of the best however this week I purchased a bag I noticed there were no cashew nuts at all in this mix. I have to say I was extremely disappointed for I look forward to the mixture being complete with cashews. I understand that mistakes are made I just thought I would drop you a line to let you know there must be several other bags without the ingredient
pharmacy
I'd been a customer of Rite Aid for 15+ years, until too many hiccups. I switched to Wegman's (Hornell) pharmacy, after hearing many good aspects about it.
My wife (D) called in her (controlled substance) script on thurs. sept 20. I went to pick it up on Monday, sept 24. It wasn't in stock. The EXCUSE I was given was: "must be the system didn't pick it up in time...".
Having worked in retail management for 35+ years, I know the excuse is just THAT; someone messed up. And now my wife has to deal with the pain, because of YOUR screw-up.
I should add that I pay $280.00 (co-pay) for this medication - out-of-pocket.
wegmans organic spaghetti and linguine
Can someone please call me about the quality of Wegmans organic pasta at [protected]? This is the second time that I've made it (following the box directions exactly) to have it fall apart and look like children's cut-up spaghetti! I bought it at the Wegmans in Downingtown, PA today 9/20/18. This is not fair that Wegmans only offers one other organic spaghetti choice! This has ruined my dinner for my family and it was embarrassing to me because I cooked it. Please advise. Thank you. Susan Messier [protected]
dutch pee wee potatoes
This isn't really a complaint. I was just wondering why these potatoes were no longer carried. The substitute potatoes are not even close to being as good. I shop at the Calkins Rd. store in the Rochester, NY area. These potatoes were always carried in the past and appeared to sell quickly. It would be nice if they were back in stock. Thanks :-)
Well I got a message telling me my complaint was too short and should be at least 350 characters to be acted upon. I don't know what to add, but here goes to reach 350 characters. I love Wegmans stores. For me and a lot of people, the produce is what sells the store more than anything else. It is fresh and seasonal. Every now and then there is a glitch, like the absence of the Dutch Pee Wee potatoes. Also you now sell peeled, pre-packaged garlic in one big pouch. It used to have several smaller vacuum-packed pouches inside the big one and each small pouch was just the size I needed most of the time. This week, I had to throw out most of the big pouch because it was all molded. The smaller vacuum-packed pouches lasted without this problem. It would be nice to have the old packages back. There, I hope this is 350 words. Can't think of anything more to complain about at the moment. Have a good day!
Today I found the garlic in small packages so I am fine. Must be it sells out quickly. I am still interested in the Dutch Pee Wee potatoes. Thanks.
employee
I was shopping at Holt Rod Wegmans today t 9:00. I was in hair product isle and looking at Loreal hair conditioner. I picked one up and noticed the one behind it had a $2 coupon on it. I looked for others on that shelf that had the coupon but noticed some had been removed. I saw some of the coupons on the Loreal Shampoo so removed 2 and bought 2 more conditioners. As I did this an employee walked by and said- "Please do not remove the coupons from all the bottles" . She keep walking and did not finish her statement until she was at the end of the isle making it impossible for me to tell her I am replacing ones taken off and BUYING the products. I found this to be very rude, intrusive and really none of her business since I am BUYING the product.
I could not get her name or description since she walked away and was at the end of the isle when she finished. There was another employee in this isle stocking the shelves.
treatment of employees
I noticed that Woodmore Wegmans treats their part-time employees poorly. They ask for you to have a flexible schedule, but only give you closing shifts. When you have AM availability. They should be fair and rotate shifts. Full-time employees are capable of closing just as part-time. The managers treat minors as if they don't need jobs just as everyone else. If they applied for a job they must need it. Plus you may never know whats going on in a persons household. When departments are over in hours they start to cut hours. To be more specific, they start to cut part-time employees hours only. Which I noticed to be unfair! How do yo cut someones hours when they are not the ones that causes it to go over? Departments have four plus full-time workers receiving 40 hours a week but cut someone who only makes about 20 or less hours. Literally, they will only cut part-time hours and leave full-time people alone. During hour cuts, you will notice that the full time employees are not being effected. When full-time employees take up the most hours and do less work. If a department has more full time people than part timers how can you only apply the hour cut to the part timers. That is just unfair. I know people who have wanted their experience of working at Wegmans to be something great, but now say their employment was okay. Okay but with more bad memories than good. So now, I know part timers having to work multiple jobs just to get by.
meat
Do not buy meat from Wegmans, their pork especially. We don't have a lot of places to choose from for groceries where I live. So I gave them so many chances with meat. The pork is literally a 50/50 chance that it will be completely rotten meat. Other times, it's not only rotten but the meat literally had tumors. Disgusting. The last 2 times I got boneless pork ribs from Wegmans, the smell was so bad that it stunk up my whole kitchen. I tried taking it back, I kid you not, the very next day after purchasing the meat, and they refused to take it back because it had been expired for over a week. This means that it was expired when they sold it to me just the day before. They could see proof of this through my wegmans shopping card, but they still refused to acknowledge that they sold me expired meat and they would not refund me because it was past the expiration date when I was returning it. Hello! It was past the expiration date when you sold it to me! What is happening? I reported this store to the food and drug administration when I found tumors in the meat months ago and they are still selling rotten and expired meat. So, clearly, the food and drug administration is useless. This, by the way, has happened at multiple Wegmans locations, because I had been hoping maybe it was just out here in the boonies but, the same thing happened at even the fanciest Wegmans in really nice areas. I don't know where to get meat anymore because you certainly cannot trust Wal-Mart food. Their own employees have made videos warning people not to use their meat and others have shown the most disgusting things in the Wal-Mart meat. I guess I will have to start raising my own animals if I want meat that isn't rotten.
WARNING: Be careful buying grapes from Wegmans. I picked up a bunch of grapes from Wegmans, went to place it in a bag and a poisonous spider climbed out of them. I know a black widow spider when I see one. I've lived in areas where they are common. I brought it over to an employee and he looked at it and laughed. He said "Yep, that's a black widow spider. We find those in our produce all the time because we get them from countries where spiders constantly hitch a ride". He didn't even care. On a separate occasion, my friend brought grapes from a different Wegmans and on the way home, her kids took the grapes out of the bag in the back of the car and started eating them, when a poisonous spider climbed out of the bunch of grapes she was holding. So scary! Also, while talking about produce, don't buy pre-packaged vegetables from Wegmans, especially the stewed vegetables that are supposed to include carrots, celery, little red potatoes and onions. These are so often rotten, the potatoes are filthy and full of dirt and rotten spots. By the time you cut off all of the bad spots, you have no potatoes left. They often have rotten onions and carrots with rotten ends. You are better off buying the vegetables separately, wash them and cut them up yourself. You get more for your money and, people get the false impression that these convenience vegetables are pre-washed like it says but they don't clean them well at all.
produce
Purchased organic peaches for $9.11 and peppers for $5.59 on 6/15/18. I have receipt and photos of moldy fruit and vegetable. I've been forced to shop at the Perinton store now that organic bulk has been removed from the Canandaigua store. As a result, there has been quite a few circumstances of moldy produce. I reached out after this happened a couple of times. I did receive coupons to cover costs however its happened again since then.
cafe area
I feel compelled to bring to your attention the sad, sorry cafe area at this location. It is truly more of an area for beer and wine, than that of a cafe. The few tables and chairs are tightly crowded, the garbage/recycle cans are in-accessible for the most part and almost behind the cashier area.. very poor! Can't begin to tell you how difficult it is to access the silverware and napkins; no room for customer lines.. at least very very little room. Most customers are confused and put-out to say the least. Every time I eat here I say, ok Danny today is the day I write to you to complain !, It's awful. Several years ago, before beer/wine was brought in, it was adequate and somewhat nice, even had a sofa and chair area. Can you imagine what it is like now.. I don't know if you can imagine how bad it really is.
The outdoor patio is very nice, sales folk are super nice, food is very good, service is good. But please understand that this cafe is deplorable, as it is being used more for beer/wine storage than anything else.

submarine sandwich mislabeled. lost $10.
I was at the Amherst St. Store today. My husband went off to get me a roast beef/provolone submarine in a labeled plastic tray. The label said Roast beef/ Provolone. Got home and opened it to eat it and realized it was NOT roast beef and provolone. It was capicola, salami, and other mystery substances. I took a bite and threw it out--too spicy for my sensitive stomach. But how can I get my money back?
Please advise. I think I should be given my money back. Tell me how I can get credit for this purchase which was the mistake of the store.
secret two pack deodorant
Good Afternoon,
I'm writing because I always shop at wegmans and spend my money there and this is not the only time I have coming into a problem with this store. I was shopping on Sunday May 27, 2018 with my sister and we saw secret deodorant on sale one for 1.49 and a two pack for 2.49. I proceeded to the check out line to purchase my items and the deodorant ran up 3.99 for the two pack Matt the manager came over and stated he would look in the aisle to see if there was a sign. He took a while to come back and switched the signs because I went back over there and the signs where taken down. I'm not the only one who has seen the sign for 2.49 it was a bright yellow tag.The associate who was putting the deodorant out and also my sister that was shopping with me saw the signs. I'm really starting to believe this store is very racist and I have a problem with that because everyone spends the same color money or plastic in the store. I would like someone to get back to me concerning this issue and would not like to speak to Matt the manager from the store. My name is is Sheree and the address of the store I'm speaking of is 500 Montgomery Mall North Wales PA 19454. I thank you in advance. I can be reached via email or phone at [protected] and thank you.
