May 12, 2022 I received a phone call from someone claiming to be a Wells Fargo employee, telling me someone was attempting to withdraw money from my account. He asked if it was me and I said no . I told him I wasn’t comfortable talking to him and he assured me he was from Wells Fargo. Gave me his name and employee ID number. Then said look at the back of the debit card and see that the number on my caller ID was the same as Wells Fargo customer service and it was. Some how he was able to ask about some former transactions we had made and we verified that we had done those. He said he was going to close down our accounts so that no one could tamper with them and that we would need to go to the nearest Wells Fargo bank the next morning to open new accounts. When we woke up the next morning we have lots of texts asking if we wire transferred money from our account. Of course we went to the bank and told them what happened. Then we found out someone had done a cash advance on our credit card and then wire transferred all of our savings out of our account. Wells Fargo refused to reimburse any of our money to us.
Desired outcome: Would like for Wells Fargo to reimburse our money.
Is there anything else I need to do. I filed a complaint and didn’t know if I’m supposed to hear from anyone.
Thank you,
Hilda Crabtree
