After participating in a phone survey about health issues, I was offered free hotel vouchers if I listened to a half hour presentation about the company's health product, which turned out to be the Defender Air purifier and the Filter Queen Majestic 2 Surface Cleaner, ie. vacuum.
After a 4 hour presentation in which the young salesman insulted my former home's central vacuum, the vacuum I was currently using in this home, and just generally being disrespectful of me and my time. I guess I should have been rude and asked him to leave, but I was in a vulnerable state and eventually agreed to buy the vacuum for 1500$. By the next morning I was I was regretting the decision immensely, as I could not afford it and it definitely was not a priority at this time. After 3 sleepless nights, I called the company and a nice young man agreed to return my vacuum (which they had taken in trade), and pick up the filter queen vacuum. Nobody came and two days later I called again. This time the young man on the other end of the phone was quite rude, but promised to send someone to pick it up the next morning. Again, nobody came. So I took the filter queen to the address on the contract personally. The young man kept answering the phone and gave me very little attention, but I did get his signature to say that he had received the filter queen back, but he was unable to give me my old vacuum back. At this time I also gave in writing a cancellation of the contract, well under the 10 days I had to do so. The contract also stated that they would hold on to the trade-in for 10 days before recycling it. I followed that up with a faxed confirmation of all of the cancellation details and that I was still waiting for the return of my old vacuum and a full refund. The next day I called again and the comment was that they would need to locate my vacuum (it should still have been in their possession according to the contract). So I went to Kijiji and found what seemed to be my vacuum for sale. I called the number and sent an email, seeing if I could some information and perhaps "buy" it back, but have had no response.
I feel such a fool, but now I am angry! Don't let a salesperson into your home unless you have initiated the contact, for anything!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
These tactics by Filter Queen are not new. I worked for Filter Queen as a telephone solicitor back in the late 1970's and we did pretty much the same thing to get the sale's man in the door. The "gift" at that time were usually steak knives. As soon as I heard on the radio about a company claiming to do a survey and then showing up with a vacuum, I knew immediately they were talking about Filter Queen.
For the record, it is a really good vacuum, but certainly not worth $4, 000 or whatever they are selling it for now. Get a Dyson. Same quality, and far cheaper.
aganita, it is bret. the one who sold you this vacuum. when i had to go to your house and do the paperwork a second time i felt so bad. i was simply doing my job though. i hope the time i spent in your house didnt affect your view of me as a person. jack sullivan, the owner of winnipeg health systems is a complete and utter dick. he doesnt care about anyone but himself and his vacuums. i was busting my ### for him day in day out putting in 10-12 hour days completing the most amount of appointments working 7 days a week. i earned a $1000 dollar bonus at our office christmas party and that was the last bit of money i ever saw from him. on january 1st i got a call from the manager saying they were taking everybody off salary for the new year. i found out it was only me that was taken off. i was taken off because one of the other employees, an older man stood up for me and said this kid needs a break jack. hes been working 7 days a week to get this bonus. so i listened to him and told jack i wanted a week off just to relax. my uncle had recently been diagnosed with throat cancer and i wanted to be with my family but i never had time because i was always working. i ended up quitting a month later. again, i am so sorry i pulled you into that scam i regret every sale i ever made especially the one i made to you. a measly $100 comission isnt worth seeing an innocent person cry in front of their grandchildren. jack sullivan is going to hell.
I have something to say that happen to me. I have called Winnipeg Health Systems to ask them so show me and my wife there products because my wife does have health problems and i wanted to see if they could help. So they sent over this girl by the name of Ashley Georgeson to do a demo for us. Well i never met person so rude and ignorant as Ashley Georgeson. Ashley came in looked around with a discuses look to her face and said where can i do the demo for you. So i showed Ashley to the living room. As Ashley was setting up i helped my wife the living room to the couch. Ashley started off saying i am very busy today and i want you to keep your questions to your self to the end, They will most likely be answered as i go through my speech. I thought that was a bit rude. Ashley started her demo and i say about 10 mins in my wife had a question to ask Ashley about her health issues how this product would help her. Well Ashley rolled her eyes and said yes what is your question. My wife asked and Ashley said well if you where listening i just answered that question 5 mins ago in the demo, Well i had enough of Ashley's attitude. I told her she had no right to talk to my wife like that and that i would like Ashley to leave now. But Ashley ignored me and stared on her demo again . Finely i said stop now you are done here i want you to leave now . Ashley through her stuff back into the box and called me an ### under her breath and stormed out. I called the company to complain About Ashley Georgeson and said i want her let go from your company and that she was a disgrace on how she represented Winnipeg Health Systems and that i would go look at other company's if they don't. Well there response was i am sure Ashley was having a bad day, we can send someone else there for you. I could not believe that they just blew me off . I told them they are a disgrace and that they don't care about customer service and that i will not recommend them to anyone at all. So please people don't give this company a chance .
Hello to everyone,
So I was to Winnipeg Health System now known as ATLAS AIR INDUSTRIES, for an interview. This was the most incredible interview I ever had, first they never read my resume, if they tell you..we read over 600 resume in the last 2 weeks...wow impressive...than the manager gives you files to fill...do not...I repeat do not put your SIN.
Than the interview starts with two other people in the room, young very young, the manager tries as hard as he can to impress you with the huge amount of money you can make, the young ones have their eyes wide open, I already knew that this was a pyramid business, I continue to listen to learn that we won't have to find clients, their marketing people will find us 60 appointment per month, the only thing we have to do is go to those appointment and show the product. Now comes the product, the manager shows us what it appears an air filter to breath healthier, that the air we breath is full is vey bad..etc...He says aswell when you sleep and when you wake you feel your nose stuffed and your eyes have that lil crust on your eyes corner, yes of course we all have it, but even more surprising is when he says...do you know what really is that lil crust you have on your eye corner...I was about to say, yes of course I know...but than decided to listen to his speech...so that manager told us, that the mites you have in your bed eat lots, dry skin etc...and that those lil mites poops in your corner eye...I was like...omg this is even better than I thought...so that air cleaner is really the miracle solution...the speech goes on, about salary, so if you show at 60 appointment and even without selling, you gain a bit than 3000...than he says if you sell one product...air cleaner you gain 25% of it...which is 400...wow that sounds really interesting...don't be fooled by it...if you touch 400...the manager touch his commission aswell on you, than the boss...so the price of that product will cost way over 3000...now who really gonna buy an air filter that costs over 3000...I wont lol...so the speech goes on and on, I asked some questions...that he didn't wanted to answer, he pretty much avoided me the whole interview, and focused on the two young ones to impress them and recruit them...at the end he wanted me in, I smiled I said sure...knowing I certainly won't work for a company who lies...I left and came back home...looked on Internet about winnipeg health system, because when I applied for the job the company was already named ATLAS AIR INDUSTRIES, and found out lots of complaints, I was right...so what you sell is not air filter but a vaccum that cost 4000, I was close to my thought..there are maybe air filters, but you won't gain what they promessed you, for 3000 per month you gonna work super hard, with your own car, paying your own gas and driving all around...This is not a correct company...I even would call it a scam...The manager was bragging gaining 13k per month, and the owner even more...but when you see the building, and the rooms, lol no I m telling this doesn't reflect at all a successful company...I hope This will help who eve who wants to go there to work...or even clients who has been fooled by them, because they lie to everyone, even to the ones they want to hire...
I was also employed by "Atlas Air industry" which was winnipeg health systems when I was hired. I want to start off by saying that the manager of atlas air is a compulsive, heartless liar. He had me sold on the products before I even seen them work. He hypes up the products by bashing every other alike machines. The reason 99% of the people who come to your home and do a demo are rude is because this is the way this man is training people to be! They are constantly talking about how much money potential there is. They start off your practice weekend with a demo blitz contest, first 6 people to call in booked demos wins 20$, which I won and was NEVER compensated. The more I listened to this guy lie the more I caught on. And he would ignore important questions people would ask and focus on the people he knew he hooked. I recruited my boyfriend, and was told for every 10 system sales he makes I earn 1000$ commission. Everything this "manager" says is a lie, except how well the products work. They are great machines but they are being distributed by the wrong kind of people. This manager told everyone we can work as little or as much as you want. Can earn 1500$ with 30 demos or 3075 with 60 demos. I didn't call him for two days, my boyfriend for one day and he emailed me a very rude email stating he was going to call the police and report the equipment stolen! These people do NOT care about your health. They only care about making themselves money. I lost money working for these liars. The office is run down. They do not use the products in the office. During the presentation he takes an old vacuum full of dust and who knows what else and blows it everywhere in the room for everyone to breathe in! I got extremely sick with a lung infection and still continued to work until I was way too sick to go anywhere. And he fired my boyfriend and I for not calling him for two days when I was keeping contact with other management through out the week. I am sickened by the way they take advantage of people and manipulate. He teaches people about brain washing and how to master it! Most people can't afford 4495 for equipment we show them that works. It's cruel. During my first demo I broke down crying because the person I showed it to has chronic lung disease and she was able to breathe using the defender. But I left her house with nothing but a broken heart and a sore stomach. I feel bad for anyone who applies to this company. It's not worth the stress, heartache and lies. Atlas air industries will not keep their word to you, don't waste your time!
Hello; this is (blank) from Atlas Air.
It has been over a week now since I have heard from you and not since Saturday since I have heard from Brenen. This is not the way we conduct business nor is it the expectations set forth when you were brought on that you would conduct 15 a minimum of presentations a week which has not happened since you started.
As a result we are terminating our arrangement with you and Brenen effective immediately. You are required to bring the equipment back to our office tomorrow, Wednesday October 22, 2014, or, as laid out in the contract that you signed, it will be reported to the police as theft.
I am both surprised and disappointed that you feel that this is the way to conduct business.
I will expect you here before 6:00 with all of our equipment that you signed for.
This is how you will be treated.
Thanks for the heads up people. I was going to apply at this company, glad I didn't waist my time. Sorry to hear about the bad comments and worse the bad experience you had to deal with. Seems like the only money being made there is the one who claims the title as boss! The internet is an awesome tool, too bad all people didn't check things out first. There would be a lot less scammers in the world. Just remember, that what comes around, goes around, and charma is a ###!
Thanks for all the above information. We first got a pull to win card in our mail box, i didn't know at first that it was from the mail box (i thought my husband bought it). We got the grand prize which is $10, 000.00 and it says on the card to call immediately. so i did. The lady on the phone said that someone will come by at 8:30pm to verify and also mentioned about if i learned of a good product would i share it (promote it) to my friends - which of course i believe anybody would. an hour to absorb before the person comes - i noticed there is no place to sign the card like that of the lottery scratch cards. then i found out it wasn't bought (my husband confirmed he found in the mail box) - TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. what i thought would be just a verification of the card becomes a demo of the filter queen product from 8:30pm to past 11pm in my busy household. The salesperson is not rude like the others i read (above) - he is actually nice. (They're maybe just doesn't know to respect people's time.) The product based on the demo works great but I would not pay that much money. Then we were given option to do the equity program. To invite people to do the demo just like the salesperson did. We would do it ourselves (after training, blah blah blah). We would still have to sign up for differed payment. Payment would kick in if we do not meet the certain requirement s in the contract - mainly the number of people, duh duh duh. You will do it for 10weeks, blah blah blah. OMG - we will be the very salesperson that just came into our house! I'm sorry i just do not have THAT TIME to waste. I do not want my friends to be in a mess that i just found out in this informative forum. Thank you. Now i will do my research if they have proper occupancy permit from the City to hold office in 74 Myrtle.
We had the same type of experience that everyone above stated. We received a call to do a survey, were told that we would get a "free" vacation out of it. Catch was that someone was going to come to our home to drop it off and give us a demo on some sort of air purifier. The sales guy was very nice, he was late for the appointent, we basically told him our son went to be at 8:00 and we would have to be done by then. After the presentation and demos of the Magestic and Defender it was past 8:00pm and we got into the pricing. We basically laughed at that point and said there is no way we would ever spend that much, he then did the call to the boss which we knew was all planned ahead of times (sales tactics) and when he got off the phone we called him on the whole spiel and asked how many times he had to get us to say yes during the presentation (he said 20) and talked about the bogus staged call to the boss. We basically said we wouldn't buy it for anywhere near that price. Having said that the products are fantastic, after having the defender (air filter) running during the whole presentation I could actually feel my sinuses clearing up, and the Majestic vacuum picked up a lot and you could tell the suction on that thing was no joke. I ended up going on ebay the next day and bidding on a defender and a majestic and with shipping ended up paying $130ish for the defender and $440ish for the majestic, both of which are the newer models. Looking forward to getting them into my home (at a reasonable price).
These crazy sales tactics need to stop, the products really are very good. But the "cost" for them I understand why they can't really sell them in stores because the cost is high and you really need to see a demo to believe.
We went through the same process. Anyone know if the free trip is legit?
My husband and I ALMOST got suckered in. They came door to door for their quick survey which my husband answered. He agreed to have his name and number entered into daily draws etc. Low and behold a week or so later he "won". They said he could have either a slap chop or a 3 day resort package for anywhere in Canada. Just had to sit through a demo. He made the apt to come despite us being busy with 6 kinds under 8 and I work evenings. They stated both of us had to be there. He made the apt for 830pm. At 840 they called to say the rep was running late and would be after 9. I said forget it, all the kids were in bed, well cancel thank you. TWENTY minutes later someone comes to the door! She says hi I'm here for the apt. I told her I'm sorry it's now too late the kids have gone to bed I don't want anyone in the house and that I already cancelled the appointment when you called. She LOOKED AT HER WATCH and said, well it's only 9. I repeated everything I said and enunciated the I CANCELLED part and said have a good night.
My husband commented that she sounded like the woman on the phone. You lost your opportunity right then and there sweetheart because now I'm googling, and you will never set foot in my house again.
