This company has no compassion or empathy for its customers during COVID-19. Most industry standards and leaders are allowing much needed deferrment at this time to allow some peace of mind for customers. It is extremely disheartening

You are terrible at consumer relations. My name is Tommy *** You have played games with escrow funds to make it look like I missed a payment. You reported me to all credit agencies. We made an agreement to rsolve the matter. My credit report was not corrected. By systematically reporting to the credit agencies you are keeping me from getting refinanced so as to get the hell away from you. To get a refinance one must have the last six months of your mortgage be current I believe these folks have found a way to keep their customers be held hostage. I have tried to get this straight for the last six months. I have sent a certified letter without a response. If you have had escrow games played on you feel free to contact me. I will explain how you are scammed into paying a large amount into escrow for which they use your money for a year and then refund the overage. It is a money grab by Wintrust to shore up their losses. It may not be illegal but is unethical as all get out. Every month here comes a past due loan notice second notice. How can one be behind and never having failed to pay my monthly balance in the last three years? I wrote and asked which month I failed to make a payment, Crickets folks.

This Company is horrible. Not only do they give zero help in an economic crisis and pandemic, but their employees, Samantha and Jason, are the antithesis of customer service. Their agent charged me over $200 more than they said they would when inputting a phone payment to my monthly finance. Samantha immediately tried to push the mistake off onto their company, and when I asked her supervisor Jason for a straightforward response on what would happen with the excess money, all he had was sarcasm. I didn't follow up with any customer service complaints because it's clear this is just their corporate culture.

Ive been trying to get my PMI cancelled on my mortgage payment since July. They have no clear process and give different information about what steps need to be taken each time we speak. When I call, they say to w mail. When I e mail, they are not responsive. This is costing me $161 per month.

We have never been able to access our mortgage loan account info, we can only make a pmt online thru Wintrust Mortgage. I have tried numerous times to register online with Barrington Bank, I have called & emailed customer service dept and have been provided instructions on how to setup an online account. I have followed the instructions, waited 2-3 business days to log in, an unsuccessful every time. At the login page you enter your user information, then the system ask to chose the phone number of the ones listed to send an access code. This is where the online problem persist. It is not our phone numbers. I have called on numerous occasions and I have been told they will research and get back to us. Then you never hear from them. Then I have called again, and I have been told to register again and wait a couple of days to sign in. On another occasion I called customer service again and I was told I was not an authorized person that they could speak with. Then I called back on another occasion with my husband& they then I'm me they are fixing it. I just tried login in this morning, and again the ongoing problem and customer service is always pleasant wanting to help you, but this time they want to confirm I am who I am to help me register, they have to do a verbal clearance check. They start asking me the first question of a cross street to our physical address where we have been for over 20 years. None of the streets are crossroads or roads near our address. Next ? was a street name where I lived before, but the only name was a street name of where my husband lived before. They told me that since I cannot answer the security ?'s pertaining to me I had to call a co. by the name of Lexis Nexis to update my info. I have never heard of Lexis Nexis & none the less I was not going to call them to provide them my personal info, when in fact I am the person who signed the mortgage, hold the title, pay the property taxes and I make the mthly pmts. I want access to our mortgage today!

Suck Bank. Poor customer service. Banking on line from previous century. Don't do business with them, completely ignorance. They don't stay behind the customers, so have no change to dispute wrong & fraud charges from your account.
Worst Experience ever applying for a mortgage loan I already had 1 pre-approval from a Credit Union who took EXACTLY 1-2 business days for a answer as promised. I've been playing phone tag and email tag with Phil S. from Wintrust Bank just to compare for at least a week now turned in all requested documents credit score in the 700 range I am really starting to think it's obviously my Skin Color I tried to get another loan officer but that didn't work, customer service basically let him know I called and BOOM all of a sudden he calls. However I will be moving on. #exampleof systematic racism.
Earlier today 2/24 I called the branch (2825 Foxfield Rd ) asking if they could connect me to banker to start home equity line of credit, I was put on hold and after waiting for 8 minutes Agent pick up and said that they only do 1st mortgage, where she connect me back to the branch. Now I have waited 4 minutes when someone picked up, I have aske the same initial question to connect me with someone to start application for home equity line of credit, she putted me on hold. After 7 minutes wait another lady picked up and said that this is mortgage department and they only do 1st mortgages, and can connect me to the branch where they do home equities. I have said don't connect me anymore, and tried to understand if branch employees don't know who does home equities within Wintrust... she hung up on me. I called main Headquarter phone to speak with some as maybe they would know to whom I need to talk to... where I find out that there is no one to answer that number- now I'm thinking why Wintrust even advertise that number? Called back Foxfield Rd branch to talk to manager to file complaint... guess what he was not there to answer the call. After frustration, I called other branch located on 411 W Main St to file complaint, as branch employees would need to be educated who does equity line of credits, with being hopeful next customer called and would not waste their times.
I would avoid this company. First and foremost they sold my personal information so now I get texts and phone calls from spam. Secondly, I initially signed up with auto payments for my refinance but the first notice I got was I had a late payment with a fee. So I payed the payment and re setup auto payments with the Wintrust person on the phone so it wouldn't happen again. the next month it happened again and again with a fee. Now the third month and again with the late fee and no auto payments. They said they could waive the fee but they already did it twice before. Even though it wasn't my fault to begin to with. Now they have increased my monthly payments by $200. Classic bait and switch. Lastly, not exactly willing to help."
