Been with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union for about 3-4 years now and still having some issues
Been with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union for about 3-4 years now and still having some issues. The employees at the branch don't seem to know how to solve the problem. I stopped going there and opened another account at a different bank, but I still had the same issues. After a few months, I changed electronic devices, but I'm still confused. Can anyone suggest what to do? The employees work slower than a tortoise. Sorry, but it's true. Coast Capital Savings Credit Union needs to improve their service.
So, I'm pretty mad at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union right now
So, I'm pretty mad at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union right now. They're trying to charge me for not using my account, which is ridiculous. When I called to close the account, they said I have to come in person. That's such a pain! It seems like they're making it difficult on purpose so they can keep charging me fees. Not cool, Coast Capital.
Coast Capital has been a real pain in my butt for the past month
Coast Capital has been a real pain in my butt for the past month. They put my *** in someone else's account and it's been a real hassle trying to get it sorted out. I sent them a copy of the cheque from my boss and it's got a different account number on the back with their stamp. I've been waiting for 3 days now for them to fix it but they haven't done anything. They won't even answer my emails and I had to wait on hold for 15 minutes before I had to hang up because I had to go to work. I've been a member for over *** years and I'm really disappointed with how they're treating me.
Been with Coast Capital for 50 years, since its early days
Been with Coast Capital for 50 years, since its early days. But now, I'm not sure if they're still good. They closed my local branch and today, I waited in line for 30 minutes just to get US money. But when I got to the teller, they didn't have any. This is the main branch in Richmond and they don't have US money? I stayed with Coast Capital for their customer service, but today was a letdown.
Been with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union for like 10 years now
Been with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union for like 10 years now. My debit card expired and I sent them an email to explain. They replied back saying all cards have an expiry date. Did they send me a new one? NOPE. So now I can't use my card or online banking and I can't get to my money. I spent like 20 minutes trying to confirm my identity and the security question they asked was what was my last purchase? How am I supposed to know that when I can't even get into my account? Customer service is a waste of time. Looks like I gotta take legal action to get my money back.
I remember when Coast Capital Savings Credit Union had a big problem on April ****th, 2022
I remember when Coast Capital Savings Credit Union had a big problem on April ***th, 2022. No branches were open, online banking was down, and phone banking was out of service. It seems like online banking is always under maintenance. The customer service over the phone is not good. Associates can't do much, and they have to escalate issues with callbacks. They repeat the same things over and over again like they're reading from a script. Cybersecurity is a big issue with Coast Capital. Until two years ago, passwords were only 7 digits, and the username was the bank card number. They were one of the last financial institutions to use multi-factor authentication. Sometimes, business accounts get locked without notice, and the message says, "Oops something went wrong. Try again later." Business account associates are only available from Monday to Friday. I suggest you go with another credit union or bank.
Today's March 27th and I'm still trying to work out my mortgage renewal, which is due on March 29th
Today's March 27th and I'm still trying to work out my mortgage renewal, which is due on March 29th. Every time I call and talk to a mortgage specialist, I get different answers to the same question. They don't seem to agree on the bank's rules and policies, and they're hard to reach. I talked to *** and ***, and even went to a real estate lawyer to review documents and the conversations I had with Coast Capital mortgage specialists. But once I mentioned the lawyer to the mortgage specialist, the stories changed again. I'm so disappointed in the service and the dishonesty I perceive. Recently, an E-sign document sent by *** didn't come through on my end. I haven't had any problems reviewing e-sign docs from other professionals, so I don't know what to think. March 29th is approaching, and I hope they can get it together in time. I sent an email to *** to confirm all the details of our conversation and the new mortgage, but I'm yet to receive a copy. *** asked her to send copies to the Coast Capital Metrotown location so I can pick up a hard copy, but I haven't heard back yet. Unbelievable service!
Coast Capital Savings Credit Union is not good at all!
Coast Capital Savings Credit Union is not good at all! The staff is completely clueless and often doesn't know what they're talking about. I've been banking with CCS for over 15 years and they've made so many mistakes on my accounts that I've lost count. They took my payments from another financial institution and withdrew them every two weeks, but they didn't go towards my payments. It took over 6 months to fix the problem. They still couldn't figure out why it was happening and ended up closing my account and opening a new one. Because of missed payments for 6 months, my credit score was terrible. Coast is so obsessed with sales that it's ridiculous! Every time you come to make a simple transaction, they try to sell you a product you clearly don't need. It's very annoying and unethical. And if you have a problem, good luck getting ahold of their contact center. Coast is by far the most disorganized credit union of all. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
I been tryin' to get in touch with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union for months now, but it's like they don't wanna talk to me
I been tryin' to get in touch with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union for months now, but it's like they don't wanna talk to me. I called 'em every day for a week and left my number, but no one ever called me back. I even tried callin' different departments, but no luck. When I emailed 'em, it took 'em over a week to get back to me, and even then, they just sent me some generic message that didn't really answer my question. It's like they don't care about their customers. If they can't answer the phone, they should at least let us know. And when they do finally respond to emails, they should actually give us some useful information. Coast Capital, you need to step up your game.
I find it completely *** for Coast Capital seems to think it is a good idea to increase fees during a global pandemic
I find it completely *** for Coast Capital seems to think it is a good idea to increase fees during a global pandemic. Increasing inactivity fees for accounts that are likely inactive because of financial hardship as a result of the pandemic is callous and only adds to customers' financial hardships.

I am one of the members. Their stuff is so unprofessional they treat you like nothing, they don't give you any name or anything. I just spoke to their customers representative and she didn't give me her name and I had to ask her what is her name after I was asking about their products she didn't want to give me any detail or any information how I can improve my banking. I don't know why they call them selves bank. Looks like I have to find different back.

Elevate chequing account
I recently experienced significant issues with Coast Capital Savings, specifically involving four transactions at their branch, including an ATM withdrawal at Coast Capital North Road in Burnaby. Approximately six weeks after opening my account, I became a victim of unauthorized access, resulting in over $680 being stolen from my account. This incident...

Read full review of Coast Capital Savings Credit Unionso I had an account with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union and some shady person hacked into it last October
so I had an account with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union and some shady person hacked into it last October. They made 9 e-transfers and only 6 of them got recovered. I ended up losing 9 grand, which is a lot of dough. I've been dealing with the bank for two months now and they ain't doing nothing about it. They won't even admit that it's their fault for not keeping my deposit safe. They won't give me my money back either. So yeah, I wouldn't recommend banking with them if you don't want to risk losing your hard-earned cash.

Credit Union
Credit Union.
Coast Capital Savings Credit Union had a deal where you could get $500 if you switched your payroll or pre authorized payments over. I decided to switch my Doordash pay to their bank, but I called them twice and they said I don't qualify for the promotion because Doordash's payroll deposit doesn't match up with their code. I don't understand this code stuff, I'm just a regular consumer. This complaint has nothing to do with any branch of Coast Capital Savings Credit Union.
I had an account with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union
I had an account with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union. In January 2023, I got a call from the bank in downtown Vancouver saying that my account was hacked. I went to the bank and they told me that a lot of money was taken out of my account as a payment. It seems like someone got into my account and took the money. I filed a claim with the bank right away. After a few days of talking to the branch manager, the bank was able to stop some of the money from being taken and get it back. I emailed the corporate security person named ANKIT, but they didn't respond. The fraud department said they couldn't get the rest of the money back. Coast Capital Savings Credit Union isn't reliable anymore. They charge a fee every month to keep our money safe, but they couldn't protect it. I hope they have a good reason for making my life so stressful. Coast Capital Savings Credit Union is responsible for my money.
Watch out if you keep your passwords on your thingamajig
Watch out if you keep your passwords on your thingamajig. Coast Capital don't take no responsibility if someone uses your login deets to do some shady stuff because it's "your fault for being careless." Even if your computer gets a gnarly virus that messes up all your stuff. Even if you tell the cops, even if you had antivirus. They don't care about that. I'm getting stuck with the bill for some thief who stole from my overdraft even though they got past all my security stuff, even though they were in a different place and Coast didn't notice, even though they took all my money. Nobody noticed. Even though I told them right away. I'm on the hook because I kept my password on my thingamajig. In this day and age, with all the antivirus stuff.
On 31/08 I went to Coast Capital Savings Credit Union to get my safety deposit box
On 31/08 I went to Coast Capital Savings Credit Union to get my safety deposit box. But when I got there, the signature card was gone and the lock was drilled out. The lady there said that maybe they were giving me a bigger box, but my stuff was gone. I was so upset and waited for a long time while she looked for it. The next day at 4:27, they called me to say they found my stuff and checked it to make sure it was all there. But they don't know what I had in there. It's my private stuff and they should have told me when they drilled it in 2019. I paid my fees until the end of 2021. They said they did it because of mass drilling, the hinges on the box next to me needed fixing, and their move in 2022. The [censored]'t Mgr told me this, but I don't think she was telling the truth. I recorded our conversations, but she was recording them too. Four people went through my stuff already.
Coast Capital Savings Credit Union ain't all that great
Coast Capital Savings Credit Union ain't all that great. They sent me a letter sayin' they converted my RRSP plan without my permission. I talked to a bunch of their reps and they sent me some form to fill out with my bank deets and a cancelled check. I live in Washington state now and closed my account in Victoria, 'cept for my RRSP plan. Then they sent me another letter in March with some Retirement Income Fund Application attached. They want me to give 'em my Canadian bank account info 'cause they can't send payments to American banks. But my Coast Capital Savings accounts are closed now. I told 'em I'd open a new account once the borders open up again, but they keep sayin' I need a Canadian account. What gives?
Been with Coast Capital Savings since 1970
Been with Coast Capital Savings since 1970. Got a call on December 3rd saying my account was overdrawn by $600. Thought it was a scammer so I hung up and cancelled my credit cards. Tried calling Coast Capital but they never answer. When I got there, $2000 was already taken out of my wife's account. Talked to Alisha F and gave her all the info. Did online banking and had my computer screened. Alisha said the fraud department would look into it. Thieves used E-transfer and tried to buy a $500 gift card on my cancelled credit card. Didn't hear from Coast Capital so I called on Feb. 7th. Lady answered and said she would look into it. Called me back 6 hours later and said it was my fault and they won't return the funds.
I had a meeting with Ashley M**** and renewed my mortgage for 3 years at 1.99% interest
I had a meeting with Ashley M and renewed my mortgage for 3 years at 1.99% interest. She was gonna blend my line of credit with the mortgage and my payments were gonna be $535 by-weekly. At that time, I was being charged $600 by-weekly because my mortgage was open at a higher interest rate. Ashley told me that the next payment was gonna be $600 because there was no time to change the amount to $535, but not to worry because the interest was gonna be 1.99%, so the extra amount I was paying was gonna go to the principal instead of the interest. One month later, I received an email from Brandy F saying my mortgage was still open and asking if I would like to renew with her. I can't write about all the emails/phone calls that happened after this because the space here is limited. Basically, after contacting several people (Kim L, Carla H) for several months, Ashley booked me an appointment to solve this problem on AL 08/22. She booked the appointment but didn't show up for the appointment. Nobody at the branch knew about this appointment. It was very disrespectful. First, we had a meeting in JL 22, and she didn't renew my mortgage, and now she didn't show up for the meeting. What happened was that for me, Ashley said my mortgage was not renewed because the people that took over my files forgot to do it, but for the people who work with her, she told them that my mortgage was not renewed because I didn't give her all the documents she needed. In other words, she forgot to renew my mortgage. Denise O, the manager, refused to honor the deal made on JL22/21. I hired a mortgage broker, and I'm gonna take my mortgage to another financial institution now on JN 26.
