I've had major issues with woodforest holding every single debit card transaction in a pended status for 5-7 days and then rearranging the order that they post the items in an attempt to overdraw the account to receive the maximum number of nsf fees. I called customer service to complain because I have an item that has been pending for nearly a week! They told me that 'its not their fault - the merchants are not collecting on the transactions; therefore, the items are pended". You mean to tell me that every single merchant (Since i've been a member of the bank) is waiting 5 - 7 days to collect their funds?
I dont think so! They should be legally bound to post the items in the order that the transactions occur instead of pending the items and changing the dates of the pended item to reflect the current date (Not the date of the transaction).
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
My name is LaToria Kenion out of Hillsborough, NC and I have the same experience issue last month this bank hit me up with major overdraft fees totally about $250-300.00. Bank kept saying that I had pending transactions called the merchant where i made purchase at an they said they ran there payment as they can to get there money back. Then I also have online banking where i keep up with my detail purchases and one day it shows up as it is good then the next day its not. Then my last and final draw with bank. I was going to the ATM and withdrawing money from my acct and it allow me to and i really didnt have the money there to do so, remain you this is the first time this has happen usually if no money is there then i cant get no money out even if im a dollar short from 2o dollars. well their reason was bc i made 500 weekly that gave me a preapprove credit limit where i can take money out of i dont have it, but catch this they charge me 34 overdraft every time i went to ATM for $34(3) u do the math. so how can u say u gave me advance pay when one i never ask or been told about this and then really take my hard earn money from. only thing good about this bank is that they open late hours and 7 days a week.
The same has happened to me as well. The claim that the merchants are not posting their debtits, and they do rearrange all of your transactions so you will get as many overdrafts as possible. And the $5 after the 8th day is a JOKE...I went back on my statements for months, and found that they started the $5 after the 3rd day, the 5th day, and I have my check go there every 2 weeks and my other pay check go there once a month. Needless to say, I was just using them because I worked at Walmart and that check posted early, but it doesn't do me any good when they take it up in worthless fees. I don't need second chance banking I deal with both Great Credit Unions and rest assure they will be getting my direct deposits after I get my fees back TODAY!HOPEFULLY.. they always have excuses...
We were also told that the purchase stays in "hold" until the store processes their batch, that its the store that determines the date, not the bank. (I had been told the same thing by Wachovia in the past, we switched from them to WF)
Well I just got proof that the hold baloney is a bunch of BS. I paid a bill on the 18th, had the $ in the account, and it stayed in hold till the 22nd, when I didnt have the $, alont with one small purchase that I made on the 16th.
So, I called both stores and asked them when they process their batches. Both stores told me they do theirs at the end of every business DAY. not week, DAY.
And when we opened out account, we were encouraged to use our $300 bounce protection by taking the cash from the ATM if we need it, so that we only incur 1 OD fee instead of several, What a crock.
This BS has happened to both my significant other and mself...Him only 2 times, but its been the past 4 months with me that I have been arguing with them over this and they state that there has been no rearranging, they are LIARS...and the $5 daily fees they accure are ridiculous...
They are the WORST BANK
yes
I love how people complain about fees and banks when they really don't seem to know how to keep up with a banking account. You see, how this works is when you open an account terms and fees are explained to you and then you are given a packet with those terms and fees included in it. It is your RESPONSIBILITY to read the terms and conditions of having an account with that bank regardless of which bank you are with. On top of that you are provided with a register which is to be used to keep up with your transactions, both debit and credit, and the balance of your account. Online banking and telephone banking are tools to help customers not to babysit the account for you. That's just lazy... It's always been my opinion that if you don't know how to use an account you don't need to open one. By the way, there really isn't an excuse for not know how to use a checking account. If you went to school and managed to have made it past third grade, it's all just adding and subtracting. If you can't do that, perhaps it would be wise to take a few intermediate math classes in college.
uggh
You should know how much money you have and what you spend, what does it matter the order? If you spent it, you no longer have it, DUH
You're an idiot or a crook! The order does matter. People like you are the problem!
