I just found out today that abc financial has been billing me for over 5 yrs. I personally went into the gym to cancel my membership after some serious health issues arose, I was active duty military at the time and was instructed by health care professionals not to work out, I provided medical transcripts and phone numbers, to gold's gym on why I had to cancel. The guy at the couter went into the computer and did some things and said i'd still have to pay for this month (it was like the 4th or 5th of the month), I had no problem with that and just was glad I got it taken care of before my hospital stint. He assured me that it was canceled and that I wasn't responsible for any more payments... When I called them today they said that I joined their gym with a year long membership, which is completely false. I was deployable at any time and wouldn't have had the money to even pay for a year membership, so I didn't. So, two different people said that I could not cancel my already canceled membership over the phone, it had to be a certified letter. Then I spoke to the manager, that said he'd could cancel it for me and so I was glad, then in a matter of seconds he say's "sorry I can't cancel this, you'll have to call abc financial. I called abc, they were rude, unprofessional and lacked any kind of compassion for my situation whats so ever. I didn't receive my bank statements in the mail and my bank didn't have online banking at this time, I could only check it on receipts after an atm withdrawl, or by calling my bank...$40.00 dollars isn't something that I would have noticed, so after $2, 079.48 and about $444.00 in overdraft fees on my account... (my account was not being used and about to be closed this month) that's the only reason I even knew this was happening... I want to know if anyone out there would like to join me in a class action suit... Even if I don't get my money back, I want this company to pay! My email address is [protected]@yahoo.com help me everyone!
Ms. Morey,
I have reviewed your membership and see that you contacted ABC Financial Services on August 24, 2010 to inquire about charges toyour account.
I am sorry to hear about your situation and can understand why you feel the way that you do, however, please understand this is the first time we have been made aware of your wish to cancel your membership.
You signed up in 2005 for 1 year and your membership was to continue on a month to month basis after that - i have emailed you the membership agreement we have on file so that you have that for your records, which states to cancel a written request should be sent to ABC Financial and the address this notice needs to be sent to.
I've checked with Gold's Gym and they are not able to verify a prior cancellation request, therefore, i have set your membership to cancel as of today with nothing further remaining due.
I have copied this message and sent it to your email as well.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss further at [protected] Ext. 1804 or by email at alex.mena@abcfinancial.com

I am having the same problem with ABC Financial with my gym Anytime Fitness. I would gladly join your class action suit as they have been charging my credit card since October 2009 illegally. They called again today wanting to verify my address. I had a contract with Cardinal Fitness before they were bought out by Anytime and have not signed any type of contract with ABC Financial.
If there is indeed a lawsuit against ABC Financial I will gladly get involved. Anyone with information please contact me.
I had Gold's say they canceled my membership but ABC had my bank routing number and kept billing me for almost year. Gold's played dumb and said it was between me and ABC. Like an idiot years later I got talked into joining Gold's again but did it through a credit card this time. I canceled after a year and this time I was given an ABC phone number to cancel over the phone. They said they would canceled it but again they didn't. After canceling a few times over the phone they finally sent me a letter saying my membership was canceled but, by the way, we are going to bill you for a few more months. Count me in.
Iam at Golds Gym Montreal they charged me the due payment of the month of february 2013 then I saw that they charged me three times with different amounts during the same month of February 2013, I called there and as usual nobody answers because they are very unprofessional, then I went there to have an explanation and the manager said that my visa number has the same number of the mastercard number of another member in the same gym and she is the one who used services that they charged me with, Should I believe her explanation ? no i cannot accept this explanation, they are very unprofessional and nobody hold them accountable for anything so they are free to charge me whatever they want, I hope they will reimburse me as they said and they wont do it again, but the trust is gone and I would never renew with them another year
