I too have had a problem with abc financial. I joined the workout world in waltham, ma and when I joined I was told that because I lived far enough away from the club that there would be no annual contract. After my job transferred me to another location, I was unable to use this gym anymore. When I called abc to cancel my membership they told me that I signed a 3 year contract. 3 years! After some serious arguing she backed off and told me that it was only a 2 year contract. They said that I had a club close enough to me. The nearest club was 45 minutes away. I argued and they told me to use that club. I was extremely dissatisfied but waited until my 2 years expired. I called wow in waltham today to make sure that my 2 years was up and that I was ok to cancel my membership and she said that I had no contract and that my membership was month to month. So now I just paid 6 months of extra dues because abc scammed me. So I called abc to finally cancel and now I am told to send an email and that will notify them of my 30 day intent to cancel. So now were are up to 7 months of dues paid for a club that I can't even use. Abc financial is a huge scam. I will never use anything that is associated with abc and I can guarantee nobody that I know will either. The bbb is next on the list and will move forward from there.

Canceling membership
Back in september I went to the retro fitness of howell to cancel my membership because I was moving to florida, and do not use the membership. When I went in, they told me that it would not be a problem to cancel, I would just need proof of my new address, whch i did not have a problem with. I was just back up to visit for the holiday and I brought my cable bill which is proof of my new address. I went into the retro fitness and they right away began giving me the run around. They told me that I would have to contact ABC financial in order to cancel which is complete bs because right on retro's website, it says do not contact ABC financial to cancel, you have to talk to a club representative. I just want my membership to be canceled, I have paid for something for over 2 years that i have used maybe 3 times, and now that I moved, there is not a retro close by me. Retro makes it impossible to cancel your membership and because of this I would never join again, nor would I ever recommend anybody to join.

I've had a similar issue with the Retro Fitness on 37 East. I have a medical issue, they said to cancel bring in a doctors note, which I did. I notice months later my bank account is charged 21$. I call and they said I would have to get a note saying I'm permanently disabled from a doctor or find someone to transfer it.
Bunch of crap. Then the lady told me that I basically signed a contract that is a legal document. So I'm stuck paying them until August. I agree with the person above, I will never join there again, nor recommend them to anybody. Their customer service sucks and one person says one thing and someone else says another. Very unsatisfied.

In September 2011 I called retro to cancel membership. The membership was a gift to my son to use for 1 yr. He hadn't used gym in over 6 months. I called to cancel and was told i had to send a letter. Well i thought I'd stop in to cancel in person. NOPE! they were having none of that! They insisted it was in the 'agreement' that I send a letter. OK. I sent...

I am furious with abc financial.
They chose to give me wrong information when i called to find out how to cancel my membership. It's one thing to not tell me how to cancel, but they told me the complete wrong way to cancel and now i have a collection agency calling me for about $270.
So because this company told me the wrong way to cancel a membership, they get rewarded? I will sue for damages. My credit is being hurt by this company because they with held the proper information from me.
I will never pay this. Ever. I have proof of the phone call to abc in which the woman told me how to cancel, and then the email cancelling.

ABC Financial is a company designed for the express purpose of ripping you off. They make more money on cancellation fees than on anything else. Their contracts are designed to make it so you can't leave (even if the contract ended) without paying a fee. I've has the same problems with them. By the way, Stephanie Cook, who so conveniently shows up on these message boards with her famous line.. "We regret to hear your recent experience..." is a fake. Her cookie cutter message shows up on just about every complaint board making it look like these rip off artists really care about you as their customers. Don't be a sucker! Stay away from ABC Financial Ripoff Services!
I am going thru the exact same thing with ABC Financial/ Work Out World. I wonder if their employees are told to give out incorrect info intentionally.
Scammers to the end. I will sue them also...have already contacted a lawyer about it. I can't believe how many similar complaints there are about this company.
OMG! this is exactly what happend to us too! n guess what same damn amount! i gave the guy at the desk my credit card and he copied my info cuz he didnt let me write it down. and he copied the number wrong for direct deposit. so the collection agency for ABC financial started calling me and yelling ate like a dog and wouldnt let me get a word in, he got my blood boiling so bad i started trembling. but the kicker is i was calling him to pay $100 on the $270 acct. but he was yalling and cussing saying he needed it all. so my wife comes in the room all calm n says, "calm down let me call him n talk to him he'll be nicer to me." so she left the room and 5 mins later i hear my wife yalling and cussing up a storm. lol so i will definitely let as many pple as i can know about ABC financial and let them know they are very sneaky and crooked!
WE ARE GOING THROUGH THE EXACT SAME THING AND FOR THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT! NOW A LAWYER HAS CALLED AND IS THREATING US AND PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THIS WAS MY FAULT AND THAT IS THE REASON I AM IN THIS SITUATION. AFTER ASKING HIM SEVERAL TIMES TO PLEASE STOP YELLING AND HIM CUTTING ME OFF REFUSING TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING i HAD TO SAY i TOLD HIM IF IT CONTINUED I WOULD NOT CONTINUE OUR CONVERSATION I ASKED HIM TO PLEASE LOWER HIS VOICE AND HE TOLD ME EVERYTHING i WAS TELLING HIM WAS NONSENCE AND HUNG UP OP ON ME. i INTEND TO GO TO BBB AND EVEN CONTACT MY LOCAL NEWS IF i HAVE TO! NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO CALL AND YELL AND THROW OUT FALSE STATEMENTS AND BE MADE TO FEEL THIS WAY.
It happen the same thing to me, I am in the same situation! And I feel the same way!
Unauthorized charges
These two organizations have a tight knit relationship in scamming people out of their money.
No one will take ownership in telling you how to successfully cancel a membership at golds gym. They bully you in to paying up front for first and last month dues leading you on to believe that all you have to do is call abc and they will cancel the membership... Not so, you call abc and get an incompetent employee that can hardly speak english, they tell you there is no membership to cancel so you think all is taken care of by payment to the manager of the the gym concerning the above stated dues.
Two months later you get you credit card bill with all the abc charges! They tell you they won't do anything, you should have known to keep calling back to verify the membership did not exist!
Scam! No one is helping. Look on the web, these organizations are shady at best. Never join a golds gym and never do business with abc financial!

Financial scam, fraud
I called to cancel in april and was told that I needed to send in proof that I moved away to avoid cancellation costs and that my change of address form would not suffice. So it took
Me a couple months to get my license renewed and I paid for those 4 months even though I don't live close to the club. I sent in proof that I moved in june. I was told that you needed one month notice with the proof, well I gave it to abc financial. Turns out I sent it on the 23rd and I had to send it by the 22nd. I already paid for 4 months and the $40 for the yearly fee even though I lived in a completely different state, which is $168. Now they are charging me another $31.91? Cathy at abc was completely unwilling to work with me and would not give me a managers name. This is an unacceptable business practice and horrible customer service. Do not join edge fitness or any club that uses abc financial! I plan on placing a charge back on the past 4 months, the yearly fee and the charge they will not stop from going through on july 22nd. I am in the process of writing on every consumer board I can find on the internet and making a better business bureau claim. I am not some crazy angry lady. I'm just angry and have been completely screwed over by this company. Just try not to deal with them ever.

membership cancelation because of lack of work.
Why rip our own people for greed of money.Morality in business is important in life. If ABC financial or gym treat common innocent man like this, it is unfortunate not only the company but the employees too will have to face the Karma- the effect of their action.
I have had the same terrible experience with abc Financial in trying to cancel my membership. I informed them in writhing that I was relocating some 1600 miles away and supplied them with my set up for new utility and my lease details, along with a copy of my deposit for my new apartments. I was informed by phone that my last bill would be september 4th. I was then told that my lease needed the signature of the leasee, when I got to texas, I had that information emailed to them on September 7th. They then responded that my last bill would be November 4th and I should continue going to the gym until then. I called them up for clarification and woman on the other end and is telling me the manager will tell me the same thing that she said because she was the one that sent the email to me. I then asked her to give me the closest gym to me new address, and she gave me the 1600 miles away gym (hmm it would take me 2 days to get there) Now are you kidding me? I am going to ensure that this goes viral and that no family, friends, associates joins fitness edge... Money hungry losers!
Failure to cancel membership
I did exactly as requested from Stepanie at ABC financial and now she throws the monkey back to the local health club by saying effective Feb 2011 they were no longer servicing this company and there was nothing she could do! She should have said this several weeks ago when I started the request. Now that I have all the hard documentation she wants, she says this.

Hello Rich, I do apologize for the delay. I have been out of the office. We have reviewed your account and email and acknowledge that your email would have served as sufficient means for cancellation but was not processed. I have the exact same complaint as others about canceling my membership. I moved out of the country via job transfer, in 2006 and tried then to get it canceled, as instructed by Courtney" in writing to memberservices@abcfinancial.com with the proof of my move, new lease, plane ticket and work visa. I tried again in January 2008. I have solid documentation for this date. My membership was for 30 months commencing October 28, 2004. Jan. of 2008 was well past 30 months.
After review of my bank statements, I have discovered that $23.00 a month has been deducted from my BBandT account for 40 months since my last request. At minimum, I expect full reimbursement back to Jan. 2008 or I will be seeing taking this company to court, looking for the back money and interest plus attorney's fees. I hope to hear from them very soon for a resolution.
The message sent to you by Tonya Verite descibes my exact situation that for several years now.
Especially, this portion, "...the customer's ability (more accurately "inability") to cancel membership, the lying salespeople who trick you into joining by saying "you can cancel anytime", and the fraudulent billing practices their billing company (ABC Financial) follows. I joined this gym... years ago and quit... I have written as per the fine line in the contract. I have spoken with people at ABC Financial by phone, I have gone in to the gym personally. It has been a great big circle of playing the blame game. End result is they are still taking money out of my account!"

My gripe is not with Work Out World gym per se but with deceptive advertisement on the ultimate cost of membership, the customer's ability (more accurately "inability") to cancel membership, the lying salespeople who trick you into joining by saying "you can cancel anytime", and the fraudulent billing practices their billing company (ABC Financial) follows. I joined this gym several years ago and quit after a few months because I just didn't like the atmosphere at all. Well, ABC Financial has been taking out payments regardless that the contract has ended. I have written as per the fine line in the contract. I have spoken with people at ABC Financial by phone, I have gone in to the gym personally. It has been a great big circle of playing the blame game. End result is they are still taking money out of my account! I even received a call from a WOW representative who was trying to get me to extend my membership. I laughed in his face and told him no way. The joke was on me. I've been told the only way to prevent ABC Financial from taking money out is to close or change my account. This company and all the gyms that use them and knowingly take part in the circle of deception need to get hit with a class action suit!

Contract dispute
I signed a one year contract with my local fitness gym, Fuse Family Fitness. The gym had financial problems (no one ever went there) and changed management. The new gym is called "Powerhouse". Anyway, I wanted to cancel my membership. ABC Financial managed the billing for Fuse. I call them to cancel and they said I couldn't. They said we had a contract and I should read the fine print. What a rip! Only go to no-contract gyms or just jump rope at home.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I also cancelled my FUSE membership when they suddenly closed. An email was sent by the owner saying all cancellation requests were taken care of. I also instructed my credit card company to deny any future charges, after all the gym I signed up for was no longer open. ABC Financial did try to bill my card and I have emailed them explaining the situation. They have told me to contact the gym, which I did last month!
Poor documentation of cancellation policy, hurdles to cancelling gym membership
Seconding the views of another complaint against ABC financial services, this is a company that makes the actual steps to cancel a membership difficult to discover, and the process is arduous. ABC Financial Services provides the billing service for Sweat Fitness here in Philadelphia. On the Sweat Fitness contract, the cancellation policy states that a certified letter, with receipt confirmation, be sent to ABC Financial Services. One slight problem, there is no mailing address provided. Scanning the fine print the contract, the best one can do is that the Electronic Funds Transfer is set up through ABC Financial Services, Inc ("The Company"), Sherwood AR 72124. That's not a complete mailing address, of course. Going to their website is not helpful; going to their 'Contact Us' page is set up for businesses wishing to use their billing services, not for customers. Of course, no mailing address is provided. I tried calling customer service on the weekend but of course they were closed.
The intent here is clear... this is a business looking to make business for itself and is not intent on provided good customer service for the end users, i.e., gym members looking to cancel a policy. If the latter were the case, they would provide a simple, clear online option, provide a readily discoverable mailing address, and would not require an arduous cancellation policy-- a certified letter with return receipt to cancel a gym membership- come on! I can navigate changes to my car loan and home mortgage payment with far less hassle.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I was having the same exact problem with sweat fitness in northern liberties. The guys at the counter didnt even mention anything about a contract to me or my girlfriend and then we were automatically locked into to one. Then why I try to cancel our membership I find out that I have to deal with a complete different company called abc financial who did their absolute best to not help me out They want you to pay a $100 fee to cancel and on top of that you need to have a serious medical problem with a letter written from your dr or at least move 25 miles away from a sweat gym with 3 proofs of a new address is the biggest scam I ever witnessed they gym and finance company isn’t nothing but a bunch of snakes and crooks who are unwilling to help the customer by any means
i am having the same problem they are horrible! i call like i was told then they say i cant cancel i have to call my gym and cancel, then my gym says u can just call and cancel, NOPE they tell me i cant cancel and that i have to hand write a flippin note saying why i wana cancel my member ship... stupidest thing i have heard, then when i say i never renewed it and it should have ended almost a year ago they say its automatic this company sucks and i hope to never deal with them again oooo and an address would be nice so i know where to send my hand written note ... but guess what its impossible to find and the women on the phone said go to our website just a bunch of BS!
I definately agree with this complaint. I've been trying to cancel my membership, which i have not used in the last 5 months, for the past 3 months. I called customer service 3 months ago and i swear the woman on the phone told me that i would be getting a confirmation letter in the mail. Leaving it at that, to my surprise i continued to be charged the following month, however because i did not expect the payment i did not have the funds in my account to be withdrawaled therefore they then hit me with more than double my monthly payment. I called customer service again and the guy i talked to said there was no record of me calling the month before and then informed me that i had to send a certified letter simply stating that i wanted to cancel my membership. WHY CAN THIS NOT JUST BE DONE OVER THE PHONE?! It's only a gym membership! This has caused so much hassle for me, not to mention costing me money i as a student do not have, that i will never return to Gold's Gym ever again.
Beware stamford fitness edge!
I joined fitness edge and asked if there were any penalties/difficulties cancelling the gym if I did not use it. I was told no. Months later after little use I called to cancal my membership - I had to contact abc financial the billing agency. They would not let me cancel over the phone - I had to send a certified letter. I did this april 2nd and was then still billed for my april month's membership plus an additional april 1st $40 for yearly enhancements to the club. I paid the month of april however I called and asked them to waive the $40 in a yearly enhancement fee as I will no longer be using the club. They refused and said it is in the fine print of my agreement that I agree to pay a yearly upgrade fee for the club. This is ridiculous, I am already paying for a month I can't use and now a yearly upgrade. The contract does not say I need to pay that even if I cancel. This service is unbelieveable. They said they will start calling me with collecttions calls - and will not let me cancel my membership. I already receive automated calls about this but I am so angry I refuse to pay. Think twice before joining stamford fitness edge - if you cancel you will pay for it in tons of aggravation. I am ogin in the club to complain and tellin everyone in my neighborhood to beware - don't sign up - if you change your mind they will charge you everythin they can before you leave.

Fraudulent billings
Joined a fitness facility for a short term while on vacation. This was for a limited period, with a fixed expiration date, and was paid in full. I then started receiving billings and demands for money from ABC. I contacted the owner of the fitness center twice and he stated he would tell ABC to stop sending this to me. ABC did not stop, and started sending me threatening letters, although they knew no money was owed.
My advice-don't join any facility that uses ABC.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
This ABC thing just charged me 29$ from nowhere I never felt with them and they just somehow got into my account and robed me.
Health club
I recently contacted ABC to do my billing for a Health club Im about to open. The concept of my health club is a low monthly fee with
no contact. There are other gyms doing this like planet fitness but here in Arkansas theres a gym called 10 fitness. The owner of this gym has 4 in Arkansas. When I told ABC the type of gym I wanted to open the sales agent mentioned the owner of 10 fitness by name so I knew they did his billing. The agent assured me that what I told her was confidential. Im a member of 10 fitness and 2 days after my call to ABC my membership at 10 Fitness gets canceled and ABC tells me they can't do business with me so if you do business with ABC
Financial dont tell them anything you may not want your competitor knowing.

i tony warzecha agreement #[protected] would like to cancel my membership at work out world
They continued to charge me for the gym membership
I joined a gym that employed the use of ABC Financial and my findings were this.
1. I contacted aforementioned gym about canceling my membership before said year contract was up. They did not say anything about having to fax a letter to this service for them to cease charging me.
2. When I did fax a formal letter Nov.9th, my account remained “pending” until Jan.4th during which they continued to charge me for the gym membership.
3. They have no reasonable explanation for this nor do they for a “30 day processing period”. I cannot imagine a gym membership being so difficult to cancel.
I would not advise this service to anyone.
You pride yourself on excellent customer service? How about this? Oneof your agents told me that a supervisor would review the recording of a phone call I made, which would have provided proof of my complaint. Amazingly, I was told later that "the recording equipment wasn't working" that day! Hahahaha
We regret to hear that your experience with ABC Financial Services was anything BUT satisfactory.
Our ultimate goal is to provide the best customer service to both our clients and their members. It's a common practice for a membership to continue at the end of the original term - much like a cell phone agreement, the service is not discontinued at the end of the allotted time frame, but continues until the consumer is no longer in need of the service.
We are aware that each individual situation differs from the next, however, all consumer concerns are taken very seriously and we would like the opportunity to review your situation and thoroughly satisfy your needs.
If your intent is to discontinue your workout relationship with WOW, ABC Financial would simply outline the requierments to discontinue your service. We pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service and would be happy to rectify any inconvenience this may have caused you.
I was not able to locate your membership with the information provided in this post, however, should you have additional comments you would care to discuss, please email susan.delong@abcfinancial.com.
You do realize that the "30 day notice" part is in the contract you signed? I mean, they are making it difficult and it IS stupid, but ABC financial didn't hold a gun to your head until you signed it. Moreover, the GYM created the contract. ABC are just the scapegoats that enforce it.
I followed all the proper instructions
I joined GOLD'S GYM Allentown, PA. I signed a contract with them for ABC to debit my credit card for a monthly fee. The facilities that I was using was constantly dirty and the equipment often times was broken. It would say out of service and would stay that way for a weeks on end. I signed a one year contract and kept to my end of the deal. Once the one year contract was up I notified the gym as stated in the contract that I wanted to cancel. My credit card had expired as well and I explained that I wasn't giving them update information as this was the end of my contract and this was on 12/31. The employee said also send it to PO BOX 6800, Sherwood AR 72124 with my agreement number. I sent the letter and upon talking with Brandon from ABC Financial was told "oh, we never received your letter." Go figure, I explained that I spoke with the Gym and that I had no stepped foot in the Gold's Gym since 2010. The representative was rude and didn't hear anything I was saying and was only concerned about saying the same thing to me over.
I explained to them that I sent the letter as I was told and kept to my end of the bargain. I am now being told that even if I sent the letter again today that it wouldn't matter. He proceeded to tell me my balance was $125.50 and I said excuse me. I paid December's which cleared my bank account. I notified them on December 31st as I should that the account was cancelled and the card had expired. I never stepped foot again in the facility. How can I possible owe $125.50 oh but this gets better. He proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't cancel my account until they received $154.50 and I said so now it went up again. He said yes because April 3rd it would be charged again. He said if I sent it again today that they would continue charging me for admin fees, customer service fees, processing fees etc.
I am completely appauled at how a good customer of over 2+ years is being treated like this. My father is still a customer but I am sure after speaking with him and after I share with my other friends my experience they will reconsider going to another gym. Of course, they didn't receive the letter the first time, and continue charging me. I explained on every phone call I received from them what happened every person told me they would note the account and of course no one did or at least that is what they told me. Needless to say I will be campaigning now to make sure that everyone I know who uses Gold's goes else where. I also work in this field and never treated any of my customers in this manner. I am considering getting an Attorney as I followed all the steps in canceling my contact. They told me that this would go on my credit report if I didn't resolve. They also told me if would matter if I sent the letter if my account wasn't paid in full. I can't believe there are organizations
Cheated - do not use this company
I have never written a complaint on a website before, but i truly feel the need to warn others about this billing company as they are irresponsible and a true nightmare to deal with. Before you sign up for a gym or training sessions find out what billing service they have. If it is abc financial do not become involved. Trust me - please do not find out the hard way like i have had to suffer through.
I relocated in october, 2010. Before moving i started a gym membership & training sessions with omni gym. Last month in november i gave omni's payment processing company, abc financial services, my 30 day notice to cancel both my gym membership and my gym training sessions.
I called abc financial 3 different times to record the stipulations for cancelling membership & training sessions; the purpose for the multiple calls was to be 100% sure i was following all guidelines and that i was given the correct information. No membership cancellation guidelines are given by the gym (They handle nothing involving payments, it all has to be done through abc) or on the abc website; the only way of obtaining cancellation guidelines is through word of mouth by the company representatives.
These were the stipulations given to me by the 3 abc representatives to cancel my training sessions:
1. Need to send in a written notice to abc stating the cancellation of my training sessions, and give my account #
2. I would need to move away more than 25 mi. From the nearest omni gym. The only omni gym locations are in pensacola and fort myers, fl.
3. Would need to show proof that i have moved out of fort myers. It was explained to me over the phone that, "a copy of my new driver's license reflecting the change in address" would suffice.
4. I would have to pay 20% of the remaining balance of training sessions.
I sent all of this information in: written and signed notice, photo copy back and front of my new driver's license, and a check for the exact amount owed.
The check was cashed by abc financial services on 11 / 23 / 2010.
The next week i received a reimbursement check in the mail from abc for the same amount.
I was concerned that they didn't cancel my account and wanted to understand why - especially after i clearly asked in my paper work to call me directly if there were any problems.
I called abc requesting the status of my account, and they said a hold was put on my account cancellation due to "insufficient proof of change in address".
They said the "date issued" on my license states [protected], and that it doesn't prove to them that i have moved.
When i specifically asked for cancellation guidelines it was never mentioned that the "date issued" would be a factor ! They only stated address change!
When you request a new id with address change both online and at the dmv, the date issued on your license does not change! You would have to order an entirely new license. The only way i would know to look for that is if it was specifically stated in the cancellation guidelines.
To end a long story the compnay wanted to charge me an additional fess or until i could give them sufficient proof. I feel entirely cheated and scammed - i went to great lengths to avoid problems and get this taken care of in a timely manner only to feel cheated out of my hard earned money. Never enter a contract unless cancellation guidelines are given in hard copy!
I have read reviews online about this company and there are never ending pages of people claiming fraud and scam jobs. Lesson learned that you should never enter a contract until you know and trust the party controlling the purse. Thanks and i hope this helps you.

Gold's gym billing
Kept getting billed unauthorized after canceling my membership. Spoke to 3 different people including a supervisor on the phone, and they refused to help or accommodate me. I am getting charged at least an additional $70, and I am not even there to use the gym anymore. I had to pay the "annual enhancement fee" although I wasn't using the gym. Again, they refused to waive any fees and would not listen to me.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Attempting to get more money out of consumer
I cancelled my membership at Golds Gym Buford GA in which was going bad conditions such has shutting down the gym for 3 days failure to pay the power bill, no cable, the bathroom shower of them not working, no paper towels to dry your hands and on top of it people were not getting paid.
I cancelled my membership on December 10, 2010. I sent a certified letter to ABC Financial in which they received December 14, 2010 and signed by a Jeff Haas. I told them that do not charge my credit card and if any questions feel free to call me and or email. However I received a letter from ABC Fiancial dated December 16, 2010 stating that I owe $49.98. I flipped out. FIrst of all my contract I signed back in January 2009 was month to month and can cancel it anytime. I was billed last on November 21, 2010 and I cancelled on December 10, 2010. How do they figure I owe 2 months.
I made a call to ABC Financial on December 20, 2010 and a female rep answered the phone who did not know how to pull my acct and took her at least 15 minutes to look at the acct. After a brief discussion, I asked for her supervisor, waitied another 10 minutes and a male supervisor came on and afer a brief discussion started to overtalk me and had to scream over him. I then asked for his supervisor, and a female supervisor came on and I told her the first rep did not know how to pull up the account. The second supervisor overtalked him and had to scream. I told her pull the tape and if not I will subpoena the tape and this is showing me no class. I told the female supervisor I AM NOT GOING TO PAY THIS. Well they kept saying you have to give a 60 day notice. WRONG. In the back of the contract states a 30 day written cancellation. I did that. However they asked if I had the contract in front of me, told them NO, I am driving how do you except me to have that in front of me. However I stated also I am not going to pay it and if it comes down going to court in small claims court I will do it. I told them I deal with contracts all day so I know what I am talking about. I asked 3 times do you want to go to court. All she could say that is up to me. I told her Ok, will see you in court and hung up. I even asked before I hung up who was her supervisor who gave me a statement NO MATTER WHAT WHERE EVER YOU GO THEY WILL TELL YOU THE SAME THING. REALLY. Of course the letter they sent me, well lets say, the consumer has the advantage.
After reviewing the contract, I know where they got the 60 day of the automatic renewal in which I never signed or inital it, but ONCE AGAIN IT WAS STATED on their end it was. Even if there call was recorded they better review the tape again because the next step I will record my own call since I am in GEorgia I can.
This ABC Financial claims to have a A rating in the Better Business Bureau. Wrong. They have a F rating with me. This company will try everything in the book to attempt to fraud the consumers in getting more money unless you read the contract carefully. Now they want me to send the back of the company in whcih they claim in the computer they have a copy. I forgot the reps do get paid cheap wagers so they act this way. UNREAL, Unprofessional conduct, make false statements to consumer, unfair business practices, fraudulent billing.
Of all the complaints I see on the interent about this company, I could not see. I am surprised this company is still in business and not have been shut down for their billing practices and unfair business practice. I guess and it seems no attorney wants to take this company on for a class action suit. I wonder if they are afraid of this company. It is sicken to me that a company like this can attempt to scam consumers, treat consumers with disrespect the consumers, and making false statements and still in business is beyond me. Maybe a website needs to be started to see how many complaints of ABC financial has I am sure it is about 50 pages wrong.
I will fight this matter over $50.00. It is sad.
Tom
Well I cannot believe ABC financial. I sent them a second CERTIFIED LETTER that was signed on December 28, 2010. and asking them to provide the necessary proof where I owe $49.98. A Daniel Rose signed the letter. Well as of January 15, 2011 I received a letter dated January 03, 2011 stating I still owe them the amount and I have till Feburary 20, 2011 to pay it otherwise they have threaten me to a collection agency. This tells me that they do not take CERTIFIED LETTERS SERIOUSLY.. Well looks like to me now I will have to take them to court. It is sad for this low amount. I begin to wonder this other person that responded on this site, I wonder if she is valid since I even emailed them the complaint to member services. They have 20 days to respond and send me the necessary proof and I get a letter within 5 days date stamp by them after the certified letter was signed. This tells me that they do not even look at the letter.
Now I do believe that ABC FINANCIAL attempts to defraud consumer out of more money that is not valid. They do need to be aware now that anything they say will be used against them. It is sad that this company continues to do business this way and not be concerned about the consumer.
Mr. Johnson:
I agree about your bill. That is an extreme in December. This sounds like something wrong with the meter. I would call customer service and asked for a test meter to be installed. Make sure you write down who you talked to. If refused then asked for a supervisor and get a name. If it does not work, sent a complaint to Georgia Public Service but again they really don;t help since they protect GA power. I would send a certified letter to the CEO that way you have a record. If you are not getting any help, then your best bet is going to the media for assistance. If your bills were $120.00 all the time there is something wrong. If you want to know the GA OFFICE address it is on the bill. but it is also on the internet. I would find out from next door neighbor and see what their average bill. If it is lower, then
it is GA power problem. You have to fight this.
Dear Member,
I understand your frustation and I apologize that your experience has been as such; however, I am unable to research any information on your account without some details from you.
If you are willing to provide your nine digit agreement number I will be happy to look over your account.

I admit, I signed a contact with All American fitness that does business through ABC financial. I called to cancel my 2 year contract that I got stuck in when I needed to add my new infant to the kids zone. When I added her they basically forced me into a new 2 yrs. They give you no option to cancel except to be disabled or move far away. This is just...

I have had the same expierence. I joined a new wow when it opened close to where i lived. I literally went to the gym one time then was involved in a car accident. I went to the dr and was told i am not able to be in a gym. I called to cancel and was told i had a one year contract that i needed 30 days written notice to cancel. I am mortified. In front of me is the exact paper i signed. no where on here does it state i am locked into a year. Now they are going to charge me 59.00 to cancel, 49.99 annual fee and 20.99 a month until they recieve my letter. I never in my life have been so ashamed of trying to join a gym. I was mis- informed and my ONE trip to this gym has cost me close to 200. All of my friends will also be cancelling memberships and i will be notifying the bbb as well. P.s abc's customer service is horrible!
