Action Fraud Reporting Process Needs Improvement
It took me ages to find the right page to report the scam and even then, the form was confusing. I had to fill in so many details that I didn't even know, like the IP address of the scammer. Who knows that kind of stuff? And the worst part is that I never even got a response from Action Fraud. I don't know if they're doing anything about my report or if it just went into a black hole. Overall, I think Action Fraud needs to step up their game and make it easier for people to report scams. It's already hard enough dealing with scammers, we don't need the reporting process to be a nightmare too.
Disappointing Response Time from Action Fraud for Serious Fraud Report
So, I had to report a fraud and I went to Action Fraud website. I filled out all the forms and submitted my report. It's been almost 4 months now and I haven't heard anything back from them. I mean, come on, it's not like I reported a small phone scam or something. This was a serious fraud and it seems like whoever was reviewing it just didn't want to deal with the complexity of it. Maybe they just clicked on the delete button and forgot about it. I don't know. All I know is that I'm pretty disappointed with the service I received from Action Fraud. I hope they can improve their response time and actually investigate the reports they receive.
Action Fraud: A Helpful but Time-Consuming Resource for Reporting Crimes
I had a really tough time trying to report a crime on Action Fraud's website. It took me hours just to get through to someone who could help me out. Finally, when I did get through, the person on the other end was really helpful and walked me through the process step by step. I was ripped off on Instagram for a whopping ?226 and the police directed me to Action Fraud with a reference number.
It's really disheartening to see how much criminal activity is going on in our country. It feels like the whole place is going to the dogs. But I'm glad that there are organizations like Action Fraud that are working hard to combat this kind of thing. It's just a shame that more isn't being done to prevent it from happening in the first place.
Overall, I think Action Fraud is a really important resource for anyone who has been the victim of a crime. They may not be perfect, but they're doing their best to help people out and that's really all you can ask for. So if you've been ripped off or scammed, I would definitely recommend giving them a try. It might take a while to get through, but it's worth it in the end.
Action Fraud: A Lifesaver for Victims of Scams and Fraud
but I was really scared and didn't know what to do. I found Action Fraud online and decided to give them a call. The person who answered was really helpful and patient with me, even though I was a bit confused and emotional. They explained to me that this was a common scam and that I shouldn't worry too much. They took down all the information I had and promised to investigate the matter. They also gave me some advice on how to protect myself from similar scams in the future. I was really relieved after talking to them and felt like I had someone on my side. I would definitely recommend Action Fraud to anyone who has been a victim of fraud or scam. They are a great resource and really care about helping people.
Disappointing Experience with Action Fraud: Lack of Knowledge and Care for Victims
I recently had an experience with Action Fraud (actionfraud.police.uk) and I must say, it was quite disappointing. I had hoped that justice would be served and that I would be able to get my money back, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The staff at Action Fraud seemed to be lacking in knowledge when it came to fraud and they didn't seem to care much about my situation.
I provided them with all the evidence I had, but it seemed like they were just collating it and not really doing anything with it. I was left feeling like it was all a waste of time. I understand that in order to get compensation, there needs to be a conviction, but the conviction rate for criminally prosecuting fraudsters is only 1 in 500 cases. It's disheartening to know that even when you have damning evidence, the police may not even look at it.
Overall, my experience with Action Fraud was a sham. It felt like a waste of space and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's frustrating to know that fraudsters are getting away with their crimes and there doesn't seem to be much that can be done about it. I hope that in the future, Action Fraud can improve their services and actually make a difference in the fight against fraud.
Disappointing Experience with Action Fraud: Lack of Support and Follow-Up
I reported a cheque fraud to Action Fraud and waited for a 28 day update letter, but I never received one. I was worried and decided to call them twice to inquire about the status of my case. After a long wait, I finally received an email from them stating that they do not have enough information on the crime. I was surprised because I had already informed them that I had evidence for this crime, but they never bothered to ask for it.
I felt frustrated and disappointed because I had put in so much effort and time to fill out a report, but Action Fraud did nothing about it. It seemed like they didn't care about my case at all. I was left feeling helpless and vulnerable, and I wouldn't recommend anyone to rely on them if they get scammed.
In my opinion, it's better to learn from the experience and be more cautious in the future. The police and Action Fraud may not be able to help you, but you can take steps to protect yourself from fraudsters. It's important to be aware of the different types of scams and to be vigilant when it comes to sharing personal information or making financial transactions online.
Overall, my experience with Action Fraud was disappointing, and I hope that they can improve their services in the future. It's important for victims of fraud to feel supported and heard, and I didn't get that from them.
Action Fraud: A Frustrating Waste of Time for Scam Victims
I was given the phone number for Action Fraud by the Sussex police after receiving several messages on my tablet over the Christmas period. The messages were from HMRC's tax department, claiming that I had a tax refund pending and to click on a link to process my claim. The other message was from Sky Broadcasting, claiming that I had a payment declined and to click on a link to go to billing. I was worried that these messages were scams and decided to contact Action Fraud for help.
However, when I tried to call them, I had a lot of trouble getting through. Every time I pressed the department I wanted, the phone rang once and then hung up. I tried calling them ten times without success. It was frustrating and made me feel like this company wasn't interested in helping me at all. If they want to help people, they need to get at least one phone installed that actually works.
In short, I found Action Fraud to be a total waste of time. I don't understand why the police would give victims of crime this useless company's telephone number. I would not recommend phoning this rubbish company. They are a complete waste of space.
Disappointing Service from Action Fraud: No Response, Insufficient Evidence, and Frustration
I reported to Action Fraud on April 20th that I had been scammed out of around ?15K and was receiving very abusive and harassing emails. I was hoping for a quick response, but unfortunately, I did not receive any reply. I followed up and spoke to their call center on May 21st, and they promised to escalate my case, but still, no response. I was very frustrated and decided to call them again on September 13th. Finally, I received a reply, but it was not what I was hoping for. They said they had insufficient evidence to proceed with my case. I was very disappointed because no one called me or gave me a chance to send evidence. I was advised to report the abuse to the Met, and they have been helpful in agreeing that this is a horrific situation.
My frustration with Action Fraud is that even their call center admits that their service is appalling, but they do not do anything to improve it. It is no wonder that this site is full of very poor comments. One user even said that a better description of Action Fraud is "IN ACTION FRAUD." I hope that Pauline Smith, the head of Action Fraud, reads this review and has the decency to phone me to get a clear understanding of how bad their service is.
I understand that they receive a lot of reports, but they need to do better. They should at least acknowledge the reports and give people a chance to provide evidence. I am very disappointed with their service, and I hope they improve it soon.

Incompetent and Disgraceful: My Experience with the Official Police Fraud Team
Let me tell you, if this is the official police fraud team set up by the government to protect us, then we're in trouble. I mean, seriously, these guys are a joke. Their telephone behavior is just plain ridiculous. I can't even begin to describe how incompetent they are. And now, having experienced their own disgraceful and incompetent attitudes for myself (as opposed to reading the online complaints from other people), I'm not even surprised at the news reports published in the newspapers and on the internet about this organisation.
It's no wonder internet crime is so rife when those who are 'supposedly' trained to deal with this and to offer support do not even know the basic criminal laws in England. I mean, come on! I've experienced some pretty lousy muppet policing of recent years, but this has reached an all-time low. When I called them and asked basic questions, they couldn't even answer them. And when they realized they couldn't help me, they just hung up the phone! Can you believe it?
It's no wonder the criminals are laughing their socks off at the cops. I mean, who can blame them? If the reality of our rising crime rate in the UK wasn't so tragic, I would laugh too at the pathetic response and ineptitude I found this morning. But the fact is, the reason the criminals ARE laughing is because organisations like this are just more ineffectual government padding and a total and utter waste of space and time.
But hey, maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe they're just having a bad day. Or maybe they're understaffed and overworked. Who knows? All I know is that if you're looking for help with fraud, you might want to look elsewhere. Because these guys aren't going to be much help.
