I am incredibly frustrated to be accused of something i haven't done, especially when i am passionate and spend so much time honing my skills. Unfortunately, systems like Activision's anti-cheat and reporting mechanisms are often automated, and they can be manipulated by malicious or frustrated players. Here’s a breakdown of my concerns:
1. Repetitive Shadow Bans
Shadow bans are often triggered when a large number of reports are filed against a player in a short amount of time, regardless of their accuracy. I am on my 11th Shadow ban this moment.
The system errs on the side of caution to prevent real cheaters from ruining the game but, as ive experienced, it can unfairly punish skilled players. My loyalty to your company is scared.
2. Automated vs. Manual Review
Many gaming companies use automated systems to handle cheating reports due to the sheer volume of players. Unfortunately, these systems aren’t always sophisticated enough to distinguish false reports from valid ones.
3. Lack of Punishment for False Reporting
It’s a valid point that players who abuse the reporting system to target others should face consequences. However, many companies don’t have clear systems in place to detect or address false reporting.
4. No Permanent Resolution
The fact that i get unbanned after 7 days confirms that Activision's manual review finds no wrongdoing. Yet, being repeatedly shadow-banned shows the system isn’t evolving to recognize my clean record.
Im Pushing for transparency in your reporting system and penalties for false reporters.
good players shouldn’t be punished for excelling at a game. Hopefully, by making my voice heard and staying persistent, Activision will improve its flawed system.
Desired outcome: Transparency & penalties for false reporters. The fact that i get unbanned after 7 days confirms that Activision's manual review finds no wrongdoing.
