On August 26, 2023 I flew with Aegean Airlines from Charles de Galle Paris to AThens Greece. I arrived at the airport at 15:53pm. I waited for my luggage to come but it never did. There were about over 150 people in a line to claim lost luggage. After checking all the belts and luggage that was put aside from belts I decided to make the line to filled out a form to claim my luggage. It was 6:30pm and there were at least 55 people ahead of me. I was told by and an ageant employee to read a sign that said that I could do it online and it will be the same that wait to be assisted on the counter. I had to take a bus from the airport to Athens bus station at 7:00 pm and from Athens to Nafplio another bus and this last city was at least 2 hours distance. The next day on August 27 I filled out the claiming form as directed by the Aegean employee. I didn't have access to a printer but I wrote the Incident Number:[protected]. After many expensive phone calls they told me that they will pay 40 euros/day until my luggage was found in addition to the expenses that I incurred in order to survived without my luggage. On September 6 they called me to let me know that my luggage was found and they gave me a Tag #A3983950. I asked where was it and they couldn't tell me. They asked which was the neareast airport to my home. They claimed that because I didn't go directly to fill out the form at the counter I was not eligible for them to send the luggage to my host family apartment at Besancon, France or to Pinebluff, North Carolibna. I was studying at Besancon, until October 22, 2023. My only alternative was to sent the luggage to RDU, Raleigh, NC because I had no means to get to Paris, France. My husband pick up the luggage on September 10, 2023. AS requested I sent the receipts for necessary expenses due to my lugage been lost. I have in my possesion countless emails sent by me and their responses. After all this nightmare, the last email they sent said that my lugge was taken from belt number 10, 40 minutes after my arrival and for htat reason I have no rights to compensation. I had a total of $1,000 in expenses due to the lost luggage. for which I sent the receipts. The fact that there were so many people claiming their luggae tells me that the agency is covering up to keep the expenses at a minimum. It is very sad to find out that someone can take advantage of older people lke me just because they want to safe money. I would rather not travel with the Aegean airline than have to experienced again something liket this.
