cancelling flights without the customer approval, long waits on calls, and hanging up while waiting on a representative to talk on the phone
I called Air India Airlines to complain about a ticket which got cancelled without notifying us. We were kept on line waiting for a representative for 1 hour and 30 mins. When the rep got onto the phone, I couldn't hear the rep, because it sounded like she there was noise in the background. She couldn't help me with the situation. She kept saying its not the Air India's fault, but clearly it was. I said I wanted to talk to the manager, and she said she will transfer the call. I waited another 40 mins for someone else to talk to me, however, she said the manager will come on line in 10 mins. After the 40 mins, my call was disconnected by them and I never received another call from them.
This was a very rude customer service who didn't provide any help.
erroneous deduction of money from my account.
Dear Sir/ Madam
I am Lt Col Devi Prasad Achary, Officer in Armed Forces, Age 39 yrs with Flying Returns Nenbership Number [protected]. I presently reside at T 13 A, Bairds Place Delhi Cantt. The Official address is as mentioned above.
Complaint
I tried to book a ticket in Air India on Mar 13 at around 1830h. The flight was from New Delhi to Guwahati, Flight No AI 891 for an amount of rupees 4745/- (Four Thousand Seven Hundred Fourty Five Rupees only). The transaction was completed and the amount was deducted from my credit card bearing machine number [protected]. I received the confirmation of the same though the SMS in the registered mobile number. However, the ticket was not generated by your Department.
I contacted the authorities and they asked me to wait for an hour and contact them again if my account is not credited with the amount. The PNR No they gave was HZXB1. I contacted them after an hour. They informed me at around 2000hrs that the ticket has not been generated and the money will be credited to the concerned bank within 24 hours.
They asked me to go for a fresh reservation. I did the same for the second time at 2100hrs in the same flight that i was booking earlier and the ticket got generated and an amount of rupees 4745/- (Four Thousand Seven Hundred Fourty Five Rupees only) was again transacted from my credit card account.
I want to bring across the point that, the first transaction that happened was correct but non generation of ticket is erroneous on the part of the Air India Authorities and I ultimately landed up spending doubble the amount for the fare.
I was asked to wait for 24 hour i.e upto 1830 hrs on Mar 14. However, I am yet to receive the amount in my account.
I tried contacting the customer care number many a times but, I couldnot get connected.
Apropos, May I request you to find out the authenticity of the transaction and transfer an amount of 4745/- (Four Thousand Seven Hundred Fourty Five Rupees only) to my account at the earliest.
Regards.
Flight delay
I booked a flight on Air India Flight AI 127 for 2:00 on 2/28/19 and it was delayed 9 1/2 hrs causing me to miss my connection flight from Chicago to Evansville Indiana. I was not able to get another flight that day to Evansville when it arrived, so I had to delay my departure till the next day and stay the night in a hotel. I would like Air India to reimburse me for the hotel - Holiday Inn, $116.28 and breakfast $8.23. My name is Chris Stofleth, e-mail: [protected]@gmail.com.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I had booked a ticket on flight AI 776 from Bhubaneswar to Hyderabad on 17th February 2019 and connecting that on AI 9550 from Hyderabad to Coimbatore on the same day. On 9th February 2019 or so, I received a message that the flight AI 9550 from Hyderabad to Coimbatore on 17th February 2019 is cancelled. So I had to book an alternate flight to Kochi to come to Kerala.
Till date, I have not received any refund for the cancelled flight (cancelled by you) nor any intimation regarding the refund. I request you to look into this and update me at the earliest.
Looking forward for a quick action
Thanking You
Yours Sincerely

I am yeso raghava sai charans sister.. I want to complaint regarding flight cancelation. Today at 8:40pm I have flight from vijayawada to delhi. Before 5hrs of departure there was a msg that flight is cancelled, tomorrow I have international flight. Now instantly I need to book flight and that price of indigo which I booked is very high. And moreover I need to pay penalty for my luggage which almost 10kgs. I booked taxi from vijayawada to hyderabad that is also expensive... I want you (management of air india) to refund my air india ticket money along with those penalty.. As it is your problem. How can you cancel flight before 5-6 hrs. Any how I want money back. I kept all proofs (tickets). People choose air india because of extra luggage now I ishould pay extra amount for 10kgs. I want to be refund money along with penalty amount in 2 -3 working days.. Otherwise its shame of you and your airlines..
delayed baggage compensation from air india
On 1st February 2019, I travelled from Hamburg (my permanent address) to Delhi via London.
From Hamburg to London/LHR I travelled by British Airways, Flight No. 967 dated 1st Feb.2019 and from London/LHR to Delhi by Air India Flight No AI 0112 dated 1st Feb. 2019. I had booked flight with British Airways from Hamburg to Delhi. (Copies of Boarding Passes enclosed)
On arrival at Delhi Airport on 2nd Feb 2019, all of my checked baggage comprising of three (03) bags, were missing.
I immediately reported the missing baggage at Air India Helpdesk at the Airport (IGIA T3) and submitted baggage Tags. Copy of report is enclosed.
I contacted the Air India 24x7 Baggage Helpline (Tel. No. [protected]) but no one answered my call for 3 days, nor was I provided any update or information about tracing of my baggage. There was no information on AI website and British Airways helpline was also clueless about my bags.
After 3 days of anxiety, I received a call from Air India on 5th of Feb, I was informed by telephone about tracing of baggage and subsequently the baggage was delivered at my temporary address in India only on 5th of Feb at 22:42 PM., Copy enclosed.
In this regard it is submitted that in the peak winter season, I had to arrange for clothing and medicine etc, due to delayed baggage, and I had to incur expenditure unnecessarily and thus I was harassed.
It is therefore, requested to pay me the compensation for delayed baggage as per rules. Details are as under:

unjustified action by air india staff
I regret to advise that compensation in respect of my flight booking reference ai/y76xl flight ai 117 on 5th february has not been received.
Please allow me to recap the circumstances of my displeasure.
1. In the past twelve months I have booked an emergency exit row seat on four occasions.
2. On three of these occasions, air india check-in staff and cabin staff were satisfied that I met the exit row seating guidelines of the director general of civil aviation. The latest flight being on 26 january 2019.
3. On the 5 february 2019, a member of the check-in staff at delhi changed my booked seat from 11a to 18d.
4. As you will appreciate, having been confirmed by air india staff that I met the requirements on 26th january 2019 for using the seat, my qualification cannot have changed within nine days.
5. Moreover, having been moved to an inferior seat, I observed that a couple in seats 11 g and h (the emergency exit row) were visibly older and less fit than me. Nevertheless, air india check-in staff and cabin crew were satisfied they met the criteria that they mistakenly believed I did not. I have photographs of the couple.
6. I believe I was moved from seat 11a to 18d without a justified reason and at my expense.
7. Seat 18d was less comfortable and surrounded by young children that used the area as a playground and my seat as a drum. I have not experienced a less comfortable journey in my years of air travel.
8. I request air india to reimburse the premium cost of seat 11a over seat 18d and also pay compensation for the discomfort I was required to suffer following the unreasonable and unjustified action in changing my seat.
Yours faithfully

I have been trying for the last 2 years to verify KYC by uploading various documents for address proof (I am in UAE), but rejected always. Recently I got info that for UAE passengers, Indian Address proof is acceptable. I have uploaded that but in vein !
I wrote customer service and loyalty programme to assist me many times, but it seems no one is interested in resolving the grievance of customers !
I had written to Flyingreturns, FlyingreturnBase, Customer Service and Ecommerce
I want to know a clear explanation on how can I get the KYC verified. Since I am in Dubai, is it enough if I upload my SBI statement in India ? My UAE Electricity Bill, Bank Statement are rejected
Why is Air India making it so hard for customers while other Airlines have simple procedures to upgrade bookings using FFP points ?
Any update..?

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to you today to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration over an absolutely unexcusable travel experience on your airline. I was scheduled to travel back to Houston, TX from India on January 22nd. The flight from Vadodara to Delhi arrived 2 hours late resulting in a missed connection for the flight from Delhi to Paris via Air France.
Upon arrival, I spoke with the Air India agent at the Delhi airport and they issued a certificate of delay and advised me to contact the Air France agent. Air France advised that this is an issue for Air India since it was their flight that was late and that it is Air India's responsibility to make arrangements for rebooking travel, hotel and food. They sent me back to the Air India agent.
I went back to the Air India counter only to be told that since Delta issued the ticket, they were unable/unwilling to do anything. Further, they sent me back to the Air France agent. By the time I got back to the Air France counter, they had closed the office and left for the day. With nobody there to help me, I went back to the Air India agent. I should point out that my wife and I are both 75 years of age. I have trouble walking and my wife suffers from Parkinson's and diabetes. These are not easy issues to deal with. We asked for assistance with accommodation and food since it was clear that we were not going to be on a flight until the next day. We were denied and at this point it became clear that Air India was more unwilling than unable to help us.
I spoke with a Delta agent on the phone who finally helped me rebook a flight to Houston at 9:50PM the following day on January 23rd. The new flight went from Delhi to Mumbai, Mumbai to Amsterdam and finally to Houston from Amsterdam. My wife and I had to sleep on the floor in front of the Air India counter as they have no seating from 3AM to 7PM. No food or water were available or offered, no accommodations were made. Furthermore, the medications required by our physical conditions are required to be taken with food. Without food, my wife was weak and experienced tremors, fatigue and nausea due to the stress. I requested a wheel chair for my wife and could not get anyone to help.
Even the Delta agent tried to make calls to Air India for assistance. The Delta agent was also told that Air India was unwilling to assist elderly travelers. The actions of Air India are inexcusable. The behavior of Air India is repulsive and inexcusable. I believe I should be entitled to a full refund and full compensation as the complete disregard for our well being and complete lack of compassion or effort have put my wife and my health and safety in jeopardy.
I look forward to a quick resolution to this matter.
Sincerely,
Anil Desai
wheelchair and food not provided
My mother Anandiben Jani, my son Shivam Jani my daughter Neen Jani, my sister in law Reena Jani were traveling from Toronto to Ahmedabad via London Delhi on j January 25th 2019. At London airport the flight was already an hour late from Toronto they have to board next flight from London to Delhi AI162 my mother is 78 year old and was requested for wheelchair the lady with wheelchair came late and literally refused to pull the wheelchair and told my son Shivam if he want to use wheelchair for Anandiben then he has to pull the wheelchair. My kids and mother were getting late to catch the flight so he pulled wheelchair to counter and reached before 5 minutes of gate clouser. If he would have missed the flight who would be responsible and what service you provide to aged seniors. This was a nightmare and horrible. When borded my kids didn't get vegetarian food on board as they were told there is no vegetarian food left. Why this happened as while booking tickets it is already mentioned in the tickets.
This needs to be investigated and actions needs to be taken not to happen with others.
I have learned lesson never book with Air India and I will take care my relatives friends never use Air India
unethical behaviour
I booked my tickets in air india flight to fly from truchy to chennai on 14th january.
Trip id : trip id [protected].
My flight got delayed and due to an emergency case I have to fly immediately.
I approached truchy air india office staffs, they said I am eligible for full refund,
They collected my trip id and traced pnr and promised me that they will cancel my ticket.
Due to my emergency situation I took up jet airways flight immediately in 15minutes and flew to chennai
I tried reaching the office again once I reach chennai, they promised that they cancelled the ticket I get refund
Until today there is no message and there is no email on cancellation.
Why did it happen? I feel this is something which is unethical behavior.
Air line is promised to pay my ticket fair as well as this behavior is not at all acceptable, I want a return explanation as well from the staff.
complaint about crew members
Dear sir, I was travelling with family by AI-502 on 12/01/2019, I just asked air hostess about ear blockage problems during takeoff for my 5 year old son and she had no knowledge and she asked Mr Dizzo crew member and he misbehaved with me and my wife and started shouting at us, when I said I will report this matter to higher authorities he said do whatever you want and i am not bothered kindly take strictest action against him as he is fit for this job. Thanks

luggage issues
I was traveling Ind to Hyd via Mum. Luggage to get at Hyd. Sun evening I reached Hyd but my luggage was still in Mum. There was another Mum-Hyd flight after my flight but luggage didn't come by that flight. I was told that it shall be sent Mon morning but now I'm told that I'll get it in evening. I bought clothes here & want compensation for same. I'm a government official, I'm here to attend a Govt. of India Sponsored training and Air India is just being so careless and irresponsible.
seat allocation & unethical behaviour
I had a flight with my family (which consisted of myself, my wife, my 7 year old daughter and my 13 year old daughter) at 7:00am on the 6th of January 2019. I web checked in on the 4th of January around 11:30 IST. After entering personal details of all the passengers, I came to know that we had been allocated completely separate seats. Therefore, I cancelled the web check in to make sure the seperate seats hadn't been finalised. After that, I emailed Air India Customer Care at 11:44 IST stating my problem. I talked to Air India Customer Service over the phone after a 45 minute wait where they were unable to resolve my issue and instead, they kept apologising. Then they advised me to either get to the airport 4 hours before my flight or purchase paid seats. Considering my flight was at 7:00am IST, I was not going to go to the airport at 3:00am and therefore decided to get the paid seats. So on the 5th of January, I paid approximately £30 extra to get seats together thinking that I would finally be able to sit with my family as the payment was taken from my credit card. However, the next morning, at the airport, I was shocked to find that still, I had not been allocated the paid seats and so we would have to sit separately. I reached the airport at 04:30am IST, waited in the queue for 90 minutes and then at the counter, I kindly requested the member of staff to see if anything could be done about our seperate seats. My wife and I were having a conversation in which my wife said that this situation was madness considering we were travelling with two daughters under the age of 16 years. The staff member serving us said that if she was not on duty on behalf of Air India, then she would have showed us what she was capable of. I do not believe this is the way in which customers should be spoken to. Furthermore, her colleague, on the adjacent desk, already serving other customers, without knowing the whole situation, chose to interfere by telling us that if we had so many issues, we should have web checked in. Which we did, but the colleague had no right to interfere, especially when she was not even serving us. Despite all of this, we did not get seats together. I do not understand how seats booked under a single PNR can be allocated separately, particularly when there are 2 children under the age of 14 travelling.

call center
Hi:
I would like to bring your notice to the chaos I had to go through today and how I was treated by your call center staff who will not care for a customer.
I had booked a ticket for my wife from make my trip. E ticket number : 098-[protected], PNR number: J27HT. this was a round trip ticket where as this issue happned while she was trying to travel from colombo to delhi. When she reached air port on January 9 she was informed that her ticket was cancelled and she cannot board the flight. I tried my level best to reach your call centers and was able to speak to one gentleman after around 45 mins wait. He informed me that I contacted air india call center on January 3 to check if my wife can fly early as there was an emergency back home. I was told to pay 12k INR which was denied by me. I suggested them that rather than paying 12k I will fly on my scheduled day. I exactly remember telling that gentlemen not to make any changes and keep my ticket for January 9 the way it is. When I contacted call center, Agent who answered the call told me that there is no way he can help me. I was told to contact make my trip for refund. Make my trip agent was on call and he also denied for refund, as per him this was a fault by air india.
When I stressed for a resolution I was told that my call will be transferred to supervisor I am still waiting for a supervisor and now its been 1 hr 45 mins. No one even refreshed hold and explained me the reason for delay.
I feel bad when consumer is left like that hanging.
I have also booked one more flight for my wife for same day morning.
I am only asking to refund me for the flight which I never took and was cancelled because of air india employee error.

I had a flight from jammu to delhi (connecting flight) which was from *jammu to bhatinda* and then from *bhatinda to delhi*. there were 38 passengers along with me who suffered approx. 16 hours and more because of air india.
Firstly, our flight from jammu was scheduled at 9:25 a.m. got delayed for 4 and 1/2 hours. and therefore finally was taken off at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and we reached at 3:30 p.m. on bhatinda airport in an old, dirty aircraft of "air alliance". our flight from bhatinda was scheduled at 11:10 a.m. but got delayed and the officials of air india on jammu airport told us clearly that "aircraft will be arranged for the passengers if any problem occurs" even after saying several times to cancel our flights because of so much delay in the flight, they didn't at the jammu airport and told us our second flight has also been delayed!
When we reached bhatinda the officials of air india told us that our flight from *bhatinda to delhi* has already left at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and we have arranged a *tempo traveller* from which you can go by road and the money will not be refunded. when the head of air india was called outside by the passengers, he clearly told that they have only 2 options to stay in bhatinda (where none of the passenger had any acquaintance) or go by road in that
Tempo traveller and reach delhi in 6:30 hours.
Finally, some people agreed to go in an innova because it was about to get dark and left and * reached delhi at 1 a.m.in night!*
People were yelling and many cried at the airport because they were stranded in a city where there's nobody whom they know. many elder people were there. people had connecting internatonal flights from delhi to which your officials said, 'we can't do anything about it' and we cannot pay for your flights which you couldn't board from delhi.
••name of the official on the bhatinda airport was mr. sanjay
Not only us, our family members suffered and were stressed because there children were abandoned on an airport far away from the city! I am a 19 year old girl who was with my 12 year old brother who was panicking and feeling nausea because for 3 hours no one asked us even for water and there was nothing to eat.
Our parents were soo stressed because of you all. I swear no one on that flight would ever travel with air india ever again because of such horrifying experience!
"we need our refund and the penalty as soon as possible or else legally we will take action against the airline"

contradicting information about excess baggage
My wife and I will travel by Air India domestic flight from Mumbai to Goa and would like to ask:
1. How much would it cost to pre-check in/reserve one excess baggage that will not exceed 23kgs in weight or any such maximum weight per baggage.
2. We are senior citizens and need to carry medication as cabin luggage weighing about 5-8 kgs. Will that be free of cost?
