item delivered to wrong address
Called customer service about an overnighted delivery intended for someone else totaling $9.71. Was told I needed to return the item. Spent 15mins on phone wasting my time. No concern about the screwed customer who spent $20 for overnight shipping. This is why people don't "do the right thing", they are punished when they try to help. VERY SAD and DISAPPOINTING.
manager treatment. ruth ann king of prussia mall
Had an awful experience with a woman named Ruth Ann that claimed she was the only manager at the king of Prussia mall in PA. She was helping my daughter find jeans and my daughter said she thought she was a size 0. Now my daughter is 12 where sizes like this are very sensitive. Ruth Ann bluntly responded "uhh there's no way you are a 2". I was mortified at the insensitivity whether she was correct, the manner in which she said it was humiliating at the least. And it didn't stop there, when my daughter tried on the size 0, Ruth Ann sneared at annoyance and kept saying how she thought they jeans looked terrible because they were too small. I was horrified and kept trying to make eye contact with Ruth Ann to try to make her stop exerting her feelings into the scenario but she kept insisting my daughter get a bigger size so finally I whispered to her to "please stop". With that she huffed away & refused to help. My daughter was so embarrassed and ashamed she wanted to leave but she liked the jeans so much I thought I would still buy them. I told my daughter to wait outside, and as I was standing in line I saw Ruth Ann & thought I'd just clear up why I asked her to stop. I began to explain that the manner she spoke to my daughter was not helpful and though she was right in maintaining the jeans were too small I tought she could be more sensitive about the situation. She nodded but then then interjected and said "I'm sure your daughter was disgusted by you". What?! I said.. then handed the jeans I would of purchased back to her. I was so sad. Because she didn't know how insensitive her comments were, she does not know my child. Doesn't know what physical or emotional issues she has that make her more sensitive to sizing. Ruth Ann simply thought it was her place to say what she wanted, and when confronted by me, she reacted so poorly. I need a response and an action taken against this manager. She single handily ruined our back to school shopping trip
inappropriate signage
The La Cantera Amercan Eagle has signage starting "take additional 60% off clearance". They do not honor it on certain clearance items but there is no signage differentiating the exceptions from the promo clearance. We spent time trying on jeans and getting the correct number of items for promotions to be honored just to find out the "exceptional" clearance jeans were not part of the bogo promotion either. Also, not noted on signage. After standing in line, the sales team and manager gave no answer as to why these items clearance jeans did not qualify for the 60% off clearance OR BOGO jeans promo. It was a waste of time to find items to meet signed promo requirements just to pay a full price of these indiscernable exceptions. I suppose I need a personal shopper to check individual item prices to shop at AEO because signage is not honored.
customer service
I went into an AEO store at my local mall. Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto CA. What appears to be the manager of the store. (Lady with white hair, older) I had the most horrible time there. I wanted to exchange an item and get something else. The items I had got were online and i needed to change them in store. The manager wasn't listening to my needs and kept on trying to make me sound like I didn't know what I wanted and kept misinterpreting me and started to blame me for not being clear. Then she preceded to mock me because She couldn't understand me. She made me feel like I didn't matter and i wanted to leave and do this online but she preceded to force me to stay by manipulating my needs. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional she gave me attitude and made me wait long for her as I was up at the register and needed help she was folding clothes ignoring me as if I wasn't there and there was nobody in line. Honestly the worst service I had ever had in my life as of yet. I wanted to leave and never come back as of yet I don't ever want to come back there again. I am a faithful AEO customer but after today I'm thinking of not shopping there any more. I went on yelp and saw the same complaint about that store and the customer service. I really love AEO jeans and I find it's the only brand that shapes me well. Its embarrassing that this person represents your company because I love the clothes just not the service I got. Her employees to me were more professional than the "manager" she did not seem approachable at all nor friendly. Leaving that store did not make me feel good. I left to another store and that manager was very professional so in comparison I was treated very badly.
child labour under age of 16 in factory in (jordan)- supplier complaints
First of all I would like to report a recent child labour complain happened in factory in Jordan country one of suppliers you are dealing with, This issue was appeared when (Better Work Jordan) the international labor organization conducted their yearly regular audit in the factory over the past week and they found out that the factory hired one bangladesh girl under the legal age 14 years old and in her passport it was wretten above 18 years old which was completely fake!
also as employee in this factory i have personally noticed several similar cases for other ladies working under age of 16 years old and their might be more...
Kindly i need your assistant to stop child abuse activity happening in this factory and please go through each and every person hired carefully as this completely unethical and completely against your code of conduct.
For furhter details you can refer to (Better work jordan) as they can give you all neccssarily details about this matter...
Note: there are many other issues observed which is related to bad situation in labor hostels, not giving overtime and discrimination between employees but they are covering it up very well by their methods...
customer service
I was recently shopping in Valdosta georgia store for my son which had just stepped off the plane from army basic training when one of the employees verbally attacked him in a store full of people for wearing his uniform since he had no civilian clothes to change into and that was the reason we were in the store to start with and when he tried to explain he had no civilian clothes they guy just got louder and I have never been so embarrassed. We just purchased the clothes and left the store as fast as I could with out finishing my shopping and went to another store to purchase shirts. You need to teach your employees to be respectful, because they don't know the situation the military personnel are in. This guy was really rude, several of the people in the store just left and apologize to me for they guys rudeness outside.

jeans — no 1339
Dear sir/madam,
on 25th of July 2018, I bought from Thessaloniki, Greece (Notos Galleries mall- address: Tsimiski 24 & Mitropoleos 31) a pair of jeans from American Eagle department(I'm sending you also the photos from the tags). When I washed them for the 1st time by hand, the color of the water was super blue. But as new jeans I thought that it is a normal process. Unfortunately, this was not the main issue. The jeans have a really bad and annoying odor which is like washing the jeans with a lot of chemicals. Because of this odor, I washed the jeans 4 times by hand with different laundry detergents but I had no progress. The same bad odor. So my question is: Is there something I can do in order to remove this chemical odor ? Or should I throw the jeans into the garbage?
I'm really sad about this, because I like this design and how it fits, but because of the smell, I can't even be near to these jeans.
I am looking forward to your reply

jeans
My package was delivered to the wrong address . I called Ups to change the address but they still shipped it to the wrong address . When I went to the store to make the order online the lady put in 43 I told her 103 I guess she didn't understand me or wasn't doing her job well. I spent a total of 90$ in 2 American eagle jeans and they didn't send it to the right address when I specifically called ups to write a note for the driver .
the door at american eagle located in pearland, tx was too sharp.
Today Monday, July 30th I was walking into American Eagle Outfitters to look around and to make a return and as I opened the door the door scrapped my toes and ripped the skin off of my toes. I was so upset because no door should be that sharp and another reason why I was so upset is because your employees saw what happened and they just stood there and did nothing not even offer me a first aid kit I had to go to the nearest restroom that was a few stores down to wash off the blood that was coming out of my toes. I would really recommend getting that door fixed.
managements attitude
I applied at the Arden, CA location. I called and ask for a hiring manager to follow up. When I spoke to her she was rude! She would not pull up my application. She said "we get 40 applications a day and we go through and pick who we think is the best." I am highly qualified for this position. I had an interview in Colorado and didn't accept the job because of an unexpected move, so I know I am qualified. In my previous management experience I would never reject someone in such a harsh manner. At the end of the call I asked for the store managers name and she refused to give it to me until I told her why. When I said it was to follow up with her, her response was, "well we both have a say in who gets hired. I have to approve the application too before it will move forward." This is telling me that you are going to purposefully make sure mine doesnt move forward because I followed up with you. Poor management. Poor customer service. I don't even want to shop at this location.
jeans
Hello I started buying American eagle jeans in January because my friend raves about them being of higher quality and fit better. I admit I fell in love with the way the jeans fit however I am disappointed in the quality. Over the past 8 months I've bought 4 pairs of high waisted jeans and recently 4 pairs of shorts. Two pairs of those jeans now have rips in the inner thigh area and I noticed after a few washes the fabric there got really thin, now I'm not a huge girl I don't chafe there like some of my friends who have had issues like this. Therefore i don't see a reason why my jeans should have worn down so quickly especially for the amount I paid for them!
aerie store employee and customer service
I ordered a swim suit online [protected] sz L Long. It came without the removable straps. Went to my local aerie store at the Gallaria Mall Roseville, Ca store: 02742. I asked the clerk: my6758 if she could reorder the swim suit or order straps. She looked up the swimsuit in the system and said it was no longer in stock. She told me to call the customer service line to see if they could send me a strap. They could not. I ended up having to return the swim suit to the store. I went online when I got home and the swimsuit is in stock just not my exact size, however I just needed the clerk to order the same suit not the same size so I could get the straps from the new suit. She obviously did not take the extra effort to do this. I ended up having to order the Xl online and paid $5 more and I'm hoping it fits. I plan to go back to the aerie store tomorrow to get the returned swim suit and buy it back and then return my online purchase. Basically I had to do this all on my own with zero help from Aerie. At this point I am not sure I will continue buying clothes from you and that is bad because if you look at my history: [protected] member ID you will see I spend a ton of money at American Eagle.
I recently went in because I had received a gift and the sizing was off. I had walked up to a rather large woman who worked there I believe her name was Abbie.. I had asked her where I was able to find a pair of pajama pants to exchange and she was so nasty.. pointed to the rack as if I was lazy for not looking myself and said if I have ANY at all left they would be over there.. didn’t offer me to order a pair or check in the back was so cold and nasty I didn’t have even bother exchanging I just walked out. I’ll return at another aerie store and make sure I never go back to the Roosevelt field one again. What a waste.
I went today to look for a new bra for myself at aerie. I found the cutest bra and the another. There wasn’t my size in the second bra so I asked one of the staff to check for me. I waited ten minutes or maybe more, another one of the staff saw me waiting and went to go look, after another twenty minutes past a staff member named Martha went to go check again. I waited another ten or so minutes. They came back and told me they already put the bra on the floor and it was purchased. I waited all that time for no reason at all. I purchased the one bra and ordered the other. Only to come home and find out Martha did not give me back my change and didn’t take off the ink tag on my one bra that I purchased. I am extremely unhappy with the customer service and I don’t think I will be shopping in this store again.
cashier attitude/overcharging
I went to the Eastview Mall store in Victor, NY, as I do frequently. When I was ready to make a purchase, I approached the cashier (I have her cashier ID but not her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag) and wasn't acknowledged at all. When she started cashing me out, she was rude about my coupon and was very short with me. I work in customer service so I understand that some times you are in a bad mood and customers can be frustrating. But I did nothing to warrant this kind of attitude and was pleasant with her the whole time. Finally, at the end of the transaction she threw the receipt in the bag and immediately turned away from me to talk to another worker without saying anything to me. I was extremely put off by her behavior and checked my receipt to find that she overcharged me for a pair of jeans that were on sale. I was very disappointed in my experience.
absolutely disgraceful staff negligence
I was in your store located in Sarasota, Florida. University town center mall to be more specific. Myself and my mother were browsing the store and next of all I hear a loud, ubrupt bang. I turned around and a giant heavy store sign and the heavy wooden slabs that held it together fell right on top of my mother hitting her straight in the head and arm/wrist area as she tried to protect her head from any further injury. I would like to also add this was of NO negligence whatsoever on my mother's behalf. All she was doing was searching the racks and next of all a load of stuff that was HUNG on the very very top of the stores wall fell out of no where on top of her. (I had even heard one of the staff members make a comment trying to lighten the mood and say oh yes silly me I was suppose to remove those earlier) which in itself proves completely negligence from your staff. You would think your staff's first reaction when this all happened would be to check how my mother was but no, a staff member (who I believe was the store manager) ran straight over to quickly clean up the mess that was left behind after it fell on my mother due to your store's negligence and probably did so so I did not have a chance after the shock to take a photo of what had happened and the aftermath of it all which was a huge mess. (It will all be on the security camera of the store for you to view the accuracy of every word I am saying if you need to do so). (The incident occurred today, the 17th of June somewhere between the hours of 1:30-2:30pm) After all of this she merely asks if we would like an ice pack and quickly rushes off to continue what she's doing. My Mam is standing there in absolute shock and shaking while your staff members are no where to be found to assure her wellbeing. As you could imagine my Mam at this point is shaken up and in a state of shock so I tell her to go outside while I head to the till with my items. Not an apology was thrown our way at this point (or at all for that matter) or even a gesture to give a discount as a form of apology, absolutely nothing. I had to literally make a remark and say ‘oh wow so considering what just happened not only was my mother not asked is she okay but not even a discount is being offered as a gesture of decency' and she then gives me a rude smirk and says she can offer me an additional 15%!' (In my opinion the staff should have had the decency to not even charge us, but considering the terrible quality of customer experience in that store it did not surprise me).
This issue is important for me to bring up as this could of ended up a lot worse, and thankfully it did not. My mother has a swollen wrist thanks to your staff's negligence but imagine it had of hit her straight in the face? Of it was a small child it had fallen on? Then what? This type of negligence is NOT acceptable.
If that is the type of staff you are hiring nowadays, who have no consideration or care for your customers or their wellbeing and leave your stores as a hazard to your customers I will have to consider taking my long term business and customer loyalty elsewhere as well as encourage many others to do so by telling them my shocking story.
First of all you should get a life and maybe not involve yourself in other people’s business, especially when you don’t know the entirety of the story.
My Mother WANTED me to pay for some items she had first of all, as I mentioned above she wasn’t severely injured thankfully so my dad brought her outside while I paid for the items, so she was not left alone.
Secondly, this has nothing to do with the discounts or money, that is not the point of the post and if you bothered your nosey self to read it all you would know the focus of this point is about the complete negligence of the staff that this incident took place in the first place, and then their response to it, which was disgraceful. As I mentioned when the staff member seen what had occurred her first reaction was to RUN OVER AND CLEAN UP THE EVIDENCE INSTEAD OF CHECKING ON MY MOTHER WHO STOOD THEIR IN SHOCK. So give me a break saying she was prob rude and in shock, she was outstraight rude and negligence and simply did not care about my mother’s wellbeing period. THAT is the point of the post. I mentioned discounts as an example of how even after it all they did not even make a gesture as a form of apology as clearly they do not see what happened as a big deal. WHICH IT WAS. What if it fell on my mother’s Face full force? Or if it was a little kid standing there? It could’ve been A LOT worse if my mother did not react fast. HENCE WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET OUT THERE TO AVOID IT HAPPENING AGAIN.
Why did I make a post? I made a post because if the staff don’t realise the severity of what happened and what could’ve happened then the management and others need to be aware of the type of staff they have onsite.
And if you disapprove of my post or find it offensive chances are you probably work for them and were possibly one of the staff members?
If I really cared about the money I could get hold of the footage and make a law suit of it but it is NOT about the money, it’s about the negligence and lack of acknowledgement, so there ya go now you look like a fool trying to be a know it all. Maybe from now stay out of other people’s business.
online inventory stock
I repeatedly tried to buy one of their products (swimsuit) but everytime I placed an order, they would send me an email saying it is out of stock. Because I hover between XS and S, i go to the site and see that small was available (which was weird because on initial order, only XS was available and Small was not). Anyhow, i make the order for small. Soon after, it gets cancelled AGAIN, saying it is out of stock. At this point i'm just pissed because I had to make multiple orders to get what i want and as you know, they don't have freeshipping so i always had to add more stuff in order to avoid shipping charges.
Their explanation is that they have too much stock and it's hard to keep track of it as multiple people are buying at same time. What i don't get is why it takes them like a full WEEK to cancel my order. Are you that bad American Eagle? And why have things on sale at all if there is no stock? As of TODAY, the site still has the item in stock when it does not. It's so frustrating. And i keep getting unhelpful replies from a dude called Reinaldo. Augh. What i want is my ITEM, not your continuous excuses. When i compared it to their biggest competitor, Victoria's Secret, never having these problems, they offered no explanation to why their online system is inferior.
Anyway, I always liked their products but their more popular items just don't seem to update properly. I never had to make THREE frign orders to get what i want(and as of today i STILL don't have what i want since Reinaldo confirmed my suspicions that the item is just out of stock EVERYWHERE apparently and so i will be receiving yet ANOTHER 'cancelled order' email. Come on man! You're a big company, can you just do your job right.
employee safety
My daughter works at the Douglasville, GA location and she was cornered and harassed by an adult male. She was scared, spoke to management, and was told she needed to get out of the situation if it occurs again. I feel it is American Eagles responsibility to ensure their employees feel safe and the issue needs to be addressed. I would like to discuss this with someone who can help her.
15% discount for doing survey expires the following day.
I shopped at American Eagle on 5/28. On the evening of 5/30, I filled out the online survey to get a 15% discount on a future purchase. The coupon I got expired the very nest day, 5/31. I certainly expected to get at least a 30 day time period to use the discount, not one day!
I would like to request an email discount for at least the 15% off for a longer period of time. I don't live in a city that has an American Eagle store so it was not possible for me to use the discount that quickly.
Thank you.

high waisted shorties.
Hello, I bought some shorts from one of your stores in a mall located in Dallas TX. When I got home I smelled a TERRIBLE odor coming from the shorts, almost like a cotton ball smell. I've tried to wash them about 4 times but the smell continues. I actually washed them with a few other things of mine and it made those clothes smell a little like that as well, so not only can I not wear the shorts but it has also ruined mulitiple other items of mine. Is there someone I can speak to about this? I would hate to think I just waisted 50 dollars on a pair of shorts I can never wear because of a smell that came from one of your stores.
I meant moth ball. Sorry.
What in the hell does a cotton ball smell like?
aeo flex / denim slim straight blue jeans
I purchased these jeans a few months ago, I wear them once in a while on the weekends. The inside of these jeans have all of these pilling balls. As you know pilling is a surface defect of some fabrics due to washing and wear. But these jeans have not been washed more than 2-3 times. The pilling is irritating my skin and makes them unwearable.
I have never experienced this with any other American Eagle products. American Eagle are the only brand of jeans I wear, and I hope we can work out an exchange or somethig.
Thank you in advance.
