jeans
You need to make better quality jeans I buy all my jeans there and they fit perfectly and what not. Now I will not be purchasing any more jeans because the quality have declined. I recently bought a pair of jeans and they have ripped in the matter of 5 washes. No they are no too small and no I am not rough with them I work in office settings there for no reason my jeans to rip after 5 washes. Very unsatisfied with the quality of clothing being brought to us.
aerie stores
MALES should NOT be allowed back into the dressing area of a lingerie store that is frequented by high school and middle school girls! It's HIGHLY inappropriate for a customer's BOYFRIEND to be in the same dressing room as my thirteen year old niece! If this policy doesn't change, you won't just lose my customer ship at this store, but at all AE umbrella stores as well as the 1000+ followers on Instagram I plan to show photographic evidence of a man in a lingerie store dressing room full of young women, AND my facebook followers, and my twitter, Snapchat, and whatever else I can do to get the word out. It is DISGUSTING that a man or teen male can potentially see my daughter trying on bras! I had to slip into the dressing room with her to even see if they fit because of the man sitting just on the other side of a CURTAIN that didnt even close completely! We love the store's products for their conservativeness and fun colors and prints, and the body positive image the store projects. However, this situation, is the complete opposite of conservative and body positive. My middle schooler and I should be comfortable with her exiting the dressing room to ask the sales rep if the bra size is accurate or perhaps if there's a slightly better version of the one she's trying on.
jeans
I have owned these pants for less than 1 year and they've already started to wear out completely in the leg area. Theyre about to rip at any moment. They're black extra stretchy jeans - or jeggings. I am extremely dissatisfied with this purchase and the quality. they should have lasted well over 1 year without any sort of malfunction. I am hoping to return them for another pair or receive some sort of store credit as these pants were costly. Thanks.
service at fairview mall
To begin with, I am a disabled customer. American eagle used to be my favorite jeans place. All my jeans are from American eagle. This morning I was at a store to return a pair of jeans I bought at full price. While I was returning the brand new pair jeans that cost me $59.49 (because my husband found a better color at a different American eagle location) at the time of return I was only refunded $42.33.
Here's a background..
I purchased a pair of jeans from Vaughn Mills:

This pair was for my husband and I needed a new pair too. I was informed of a sale of buy one pair and get a second pair for 50% off. I told the cashier I was unable to try on pants that day as I am disabled and was having a painfully bad day. I was informed I could purchase a second pair within the next 14 days.
I purchased my next pair a few days later:

The cashier told me in order for me to get the 50% off on my second pair she would have to adjust some stuff. She made it look like a return and repurchase so I could get the discount.

A few days later my husband and I were shopping and he found a pair he liked better than the one we got before. He hadn't used those jeans yet so we decided to get the new pair and return the older one. We paid full price for the new jeans.
Finally the problem:
I was at Fairview mall to make the return of the first pair we bought and something I thought would only take a couple of minutes became a long hard life taking transaction. Two employees were at Fairview mall. Manager - Daniel and coworker - Angela. Angela was the one who did my second transaction and she remembered me and told me about the purchase and only refunded me partially for the jeans. They kept me standing and explaining myself to them for a long time during this time I started to feel extremely pain and they were just making me show them my bills like a million times. Including holding my phone and going through my receipts my credit card transactions etc. They treated me like I was a criminal. When I informed Mr. Daniel about my pain and asked him if I could sit and talk to him he told me the only place I could sit was the table. I was at a point where I was going to faint because of this very tough situation which caused me a lot of physical and emotional stress and pain I ended up sitting on the table where he asked me to sit. That involved me a disabled person with a broken spine with no other option but to jump up on a table and people watching me. I still fought for my rights and finally like he was doing me a favor he returned the remaining balance to my credit card. I was very hurt and left the store in humiliation and tears. I was deeply hurt and do not feel like ever going to the store again. I think that this is not fair or just. To treat a human like she were less and something to joke about as they were making jokes about how much I get back. I found this behaviour of the employees at the mall very disrespectful and demeaning. It's not fair for any employee to make a customer feel this bad. This whole event was so disgraceful I would like some justice in this situation so I can feel free to shop and be respected. My disability isn't a reason for people to make fun or treat me in this manner.
harassment by sales manager
For months now I have been harassed by a sales manager AprilDare at AE locates in Green Acres mall Long Island. Having a mutual friend in common my number was given to her. Upon speaking I told AprilDare that I would no longer like to be associated with her. She has called me using other employees cellphone numbers as well as using the store phone to call me.
customer service & product
I recently bought several pair of jeans in my size and when I got home to try them on, they were to small! I buy jeans from here all the time in my original size and they fit perfect. But not this time! I tried to return them for a size up and the lady wouldn't let me swap them out. She insulted me and told me that I didn't need to be wearing American Eagle anyways, I was to fat. Very disappointing! Will not be back!
advertising
After Christmas AE stores (at least three that I personally shopped so I am assuming company wide) displayed giant red signs advertising "Additional 60 percent off Clearance." But when I located some items I wished to purchase there was no mark down price, only a sticker identifying the item as clearance. The item rang up 60 percent off the original price and none of the three stores would give the additional 60 percent off that was advertised. The poor employees tried to explain that it really was an additional 60 percent off somehow if the original price.
This is false advertising. There's no way to justify claiming items are an additional percentage off an original price. That's just playing mind games. It's obvious why the company is doing this. They think they can lure customers into the store thinking they are going to get a really great deal- an additional discount- something extra- and then it's just the regular sale deal.
I would have no problem AT ALL if the sign said Clearance items 60 percent off. I would have bought the merchandise. But because the company is deliberately playing a mind game with customers and holding to get away with it- banking on the fact that either customers will not do the math or that customers will just shrug and buy the stuff anyway because it's a good deal is dishonest business practice. It works because most people are too busy or too tired or just don't care enough to complain. And it's not the poor sales associates fault, but it is embarrassing for them and unfair to them to make them try to explain how somehow there's not a problem here.
I was shopping one day and would not have gone in the store at all but for the sign. The sign is the only thing that got me in the door. I refused to buy anything because I felt manipulated and was frankly outraged. I haven't seen any other businesses of a similar type trying to deceive customers this way. And it's just so unnecessary. I have been a loyal customer for decades clothing three kids with your merchandise and wearing only AE jeans myself for decades. The product is good. There's no need to manipulate people.
I am torn because I love the jeans. They are really the only ones I wear. But because of this I feel like I should boycott the store, file a complaint with BBB, and out on Facebook and Twitter and I atacaran etc the picture of the big, red sign falsely advertising an additional 60 percent off when everything was ONLY 60 percent off.
Again, I want to emphasize, it's the manipulation and the dishonesty and the position you put your poor employees in that bothers me. They don't get paid enough to deal with irate customers but every one of those young women tried to defend this practice, tried and failed to somehow say it wasn't deceptive. As I said, if the sign had said 6o percent off clearance, I would have no issue at all. I have spent thousands of dollars in your stores over the years. Five figures easily. And this is how you repay your loyal customers. Not one store I shoooed in would give me an additional 60 percent off which they should have when I pointed it out. They said they could not do that. But any other store would have done so if a customer complained even though it didn't automatically ring up that way. Obviously you weren't going to mark down merchandise 69 percent and then give another sixty percent. You had no intention of doing that.
But that's what should have happened because that's what was advertised. If the sign advertised 60 percent off the original- incidentally other signs did do that or merely said SALE 69 percent off- no problem. THhis is what I have seen in the past. I am baffled that some genious in your corporation came up with this idea and somehow everyone was on board. Shame on you. Your sustainers deserve better. Your target demographic is mostly young people who come from middle class families struggling to make ends meet and dress their kids in good clothes that peers will accept. Yes, these people need a good deal and when they see that big word ADDITIONAL they will beer right into the store like I did.
It's just really disheartening and disgusting not to mention really bad business. I spent so much money in your store before Christmas. I bought new wardrobes for both of my daughters for Christmas almost exclusively at your store as well as jeans for myself. It saddens me to think I will have to go to places like Fireber 21 or Aeropostale or Just about ANY department store that doesn't try to manipulate people or at the very least when called out on it gives the customer what the sign advertises. Your employees should be taught this and that the customer is right, especially when the customer IS right. But these kids, mostly college and high school kids had no power to do so and were too terrified of losing their minimum wage job while the corporation makes billions and leaves them to deal with angry people who feel cheated.
It's a real shame all the way around. I complained at all three stores and called customer service. No one seemed to be able to remedy this situation to my satisfaction. Take the signs down or start giving people the additional percent off the markdown. And please don't try to say that the sign is not false. It's linguisticslly and logically impossible to say that it is. There's only one reason that sign is there. To manipulate and deceive for the almighty dollar. I thought AE had more class than that.
service complaint
The incident happened on 26th Dec, 2018 in the outlet in Marina Mall, Kuwait. I went for shopping as there was a sale of 50% off. Due to rush or whatsoever the shop was crowded and the ply wood in the shop was off the screw. It fell on my leg and i came out without complaining though an employee who witnessed me sitting in the whop asked if i am ok.
Due to pain on the 2nd day and the condition of the fingers on which the wooden piece fell i went today(27th Dec, 2018) to the hopital.
Doctor confirmed that i have minor fractures on my fingers and plaster is put now.
What i wanted to say is even if there is rush the staff the should watch these things. Please do pay attention to the safety of the customers too.
Thanks.
online orders and customer service
I ordered a pair of boots as an Xmas present;however after a week with no updates I discovered that my order hadn't shipped. Through the customer service chat I found out that they were having trouble finding the item. If the item is not there it needs to be marked out of stock. I purposely waited until the item was in stock to order it and I expect to receive the order I made and paid for. I have always been a loyal AE customer and never had a problem like this. I don't have a Xmas present now because of this. Furthermore, customer service also has conflicting information. I called and received different info than from the chats. Even chat agents have different info from one another. This makes finding out what I actually going on exceedingly difficult.
online service complaint
I placed 3 orders, one which did not go through to American eagle's system yet I was still charged to my credit card. They told me to replace the order by calling them. I asked for another option to replace order as my phone doesnt make international calls. They said calling is the only option. I then contacted my bank to cancel the payment and tell them to investigate. While this incident was happening, American eagle decided to randomly cancel my 2nd order without my request and they refunded me only $3 of the payment for that particular item.
I am very disappointed in their unprofessional service even when emailing me, they sometimes type unprofessional emails.

Dear Director of Customer Service,
On Saturday the 27 of October, I purchased a gray sweater with a lace back. It was from the American Eagle Outfitters in the Exton mall in West Chester PA. I payed 29.95 for the Gray sweater with the lace back.
I washed the sweater in cold water with light rinse like the tag said to do, but when I took the sweater out of the washer the lace on the back of the sweater was all torn and ripped apart.
I tried to return the sweater at American Eagle Outfitters for a new one, but the manager at the American Eagle Outfitters Store in the Exton Mall in West chester PA said that I couldn't return the sweater. I would like my money refunded or a gift card to buy another sweater, because I spent some money on that sweater.
Thank you for bringing your attention to this problem
Sincerely ~
Elizabeth Prime

Hi according to AE connect, if you purchase 5 jeans the next one is free, I have purchased 8 jeans and I have not received a 15 dollar coupon nor a pair of free jeans as promised. I have contacted customer service numerous times and even made phone calls with AE connect, all stating and falsey reassuring me that i will receive my earned rewards withing 10 business days. NONE has happened. Its been about 3 months. I love American Eagle as their jeans are so comfortable but I am very unsatisfied with their service and false hopes. I never take the time to write down complains but this is beyond ridiculous.

bad customer service
Hi. I'm making an complaint on regarding One of the managers hiring me to be employed at the store ( White plains Galleria Mall ) after getting hired I had to complete my 1-9 which I did to be on the schedule . I did notify the manger that hired me I forgot her name but I did speak to another manager Name Peter several time about Completing my 1-9 and store manger yessica one time. I finally get in contact with the manger that hired me a almost two weeks later and she tells me she going to check if I finished my 1-9 and will call me or text me back. I never received a call nor text and I got hired almost a month ago . This is not good customer service as a manger. I'm still looking forward to work at America eagle and is it possible to relocate me
clothing/sizing available
I have observed while shopping AE the new commercial depicting larger sized models. I cannot purchase anything in store in my sons size. 260pound 6foot 16yr old football player. 40/32 xxxl. As the buying power in my house it is very irritating to have to pay for shipping and handling just to "try" a fit on him! Your commercial is a slap in the face to larger children. The commercial in store made us feel like your not really trying to be inclusive with no in store sizing available! Very disheartening! Let's face it kids are bigger today catch up before they start shopping elsewhere 😳
return issues
I sent in for an exchange on two items and they got lost in the mail. Apparently, they do not keep record of the prepaid label they send customers and I am being told "too bad, we can't help you." So, I'm out money for a mistake that isn't my own? I've been emailing and calling them for weeks with no resolution. What kind of terrible customer service is that?
I will never buy anything from here again due to this experience. I will continue to tell others of my terrible experience including posting anything I can on social media to get the word out to as many people as I can about how terrible their level of customer service is.

jeans
I bought for the first time a jeans less than 6 months ago from american eagle (Egypt - CFC mall branch) and now its torn and cut and the quality is the worst ever. I came to the branch and its obviously that there is anproblem with the quality of the jeans as this had never happened with me from another brands but unfortunately and surprisingly the branch manager kept saying thats normal and he wont do anything and i havw to solve the problem by myself cause he will not help
men's jeans
I bought a pair of jeans a little over a month ago from the location in the galleria mall in Hoover Alabama. I paid $60 for them and the zipper is already broken as well as 2 of the belt loops. Its unfortunate that these small things are going wrong because the jeans fit great and are really comfortable. The fact that I can't zip the zipper now and 2 belt loops are broken will definitely keep me from wearing them.
jeans
Hello, I bought a pair of Blue jeans about a month ago and they still make my hands blue, they even ruined a pair of white shoes. I have washed them a few times already and they stayed the same. I can't wear them without ruining another piece of clothing. Please tell me how to fix them or give any kind of solution, as they were expensive. Thank you for tour time.
employee
I was in the Vienna WV store looking for a pair of jeans for a gift. An associate approached and was helpful and said if I didn't find what I wanted she would check in the back for me. I said thank you and continued looking. Not two minutes later another associate KRISTIE (sp?) the store manager approached. Asked what I wanted told her jeans for a gift. She looked on shelf where I had already looked and said I can order them for you. I said thank you but I need them today. She said VERY RUDELY...THAT'S YOUR OPTIONS. I was planning on looking for other items and due to her complete rudeness that was totally unexpected I said THANKS for your help and exercised MY option of walking out of the store. Customer Service is definitely NOT her strong point with such a bad attitude.
customer service
On 8/25/18 I visited the Kittery, ME store. A pair of shorts my son wanted were not in stock. I asked to have them ordered. I was told they were. 3 days later I noticed they were not. I called on 8/25/18 spoke with the store manager Paul who located a pair in the Boston store and would have them sent to his store. I called again on 9/3/18 and spoke with Paul who stated they had not arrived. It is now 9/6/18 & no shorts. I find it hard to believe that a package sent from Boston, MA to Kittery, ME takes this long! No follow up from Paul either after he said he would let me know. Terrible customer service from a store manager. Attached is my transaction with this store.
