I have visited this applebees quite a few times and on every occasion the customer service is the same. The waitress doesn't come to our table promptly and then when asked to speak to a manager one comes over with as bad an attitude as the waitress gives. I have also noticed on each occasion that every time i have to ask the server where our waitress is and also why I've been waiting twenty minutes without even getting any service at all, only to have a larger party than the one im in walk right in and get served... The manager on duty even had the nerve to touch the brother on the shoulder and stand up for his employees ### service. I asked the manager if i could have his name and the district managers name and telephone number only for him to reply its in the phone book... As a manager of two restaurants and a customer i don't expect to be treated like that from anyone in the same position. We all work hard for our money and shouldn't be made to feel as if our patronizing a restaurant is a nuisance . So finally when the server finally walked over to offer me a drink when she saw us speaking to the manager i got up and walked out, and i will never return again... and they wonder why so many applebees stores are closing... ill give you one guess the lack of customer service...
File a complaint with the Consumer Complaint Agency. The will censure the restaurant. (Let people know not to go there.) You are right.
Last week after working 12 hours straight, I was hungry and too tired to cook for one. I decided that Applebee's Curbside would do nicely. I pulled in and phoned for a menu which was brought out to me. When I had selected a meal I called again to order and was told that I would have to come inside the restaurant because it was after dark.. EXCUSE ME? She responded that it was for security reasons. I told her I was right in the parking lot in the car with the HANDICAP plates on it. She said I would have to come in because if she came out she might get mugged. At this point I tried to imagine why she might get mugged but it would be safe for me. I came home and cooked for one.
we didn't have silverware, order was mess up, hair in my food, food missing and manger seem unconcerned and charged credit card for 118 dollars when one the bill for that party was 13 dollars
just making it short came for Day, the waiter did know specials on drinks or what was in the drink, order our food it was cold, hair found in food the glass were not clean.no i hever manager in store at time that what we were told, so i persuade to try talking to manager thinking he would straighten it out, he was taking his time to return my call, I've NE had this to happen to me.if something was wrong no one came to check the waitress was scared .so i call the manager at corporate they did not wont to gI've me number, i spoke to a Kurt he refuses to work with me i was not asking to replace 10 people just mine and Day person; i just sadden that i was treated this way by a restaurant that i loved so dearly.i hope one on else gets this type of service when the come in.
Went to Apple bees for our Anniversary, the service was terrible. It was not busy and we were told that It would be a 10 minute wait, OK no problem, we were taken to our table and told who our waiter would be, 5 min, later the waiter came over and to OK our drink order. Then after a 15 min wait, we were informed that our drinks would be there shortly. A different person brought our drinks to the table, 5 more minutes, and our food order was taken. After 20 minutes I had to call our waiter over so I could order another drink. Then after another 10 minutes, our food order was brought out by yet a different person, 5 more minutes I received my drink order. Still not a busy place. We were then given our check, not asked if we wanted desert or any thing else. That was the worst service I have ever had at Apple bees. I do not get to go out often, due to the economy.. but when we do, service on us returning is key! We have always gone to Apple bees at this address for the 10 years we have been at Fort Jackson and this was the worst service I have ever had. I have even had a talk with my employees on how we will not do this to our customers This has always been my favorite place to go, now I feel I have to find another place. Feel free to contact me:

First of all, never post personal information on the Internet. You need to delete it ASAP. Secondly, Applebee's? For your anniversary? Is your marriage that bad? You got what you deserved going there.
I was at the Applebees on Menaul in Albuquerque, NM normally I love that place .. However, I was sitting at the bar after a stressful day after work with a co-workder and we were shooting the ###. The bartender named "Deelynn" comes up to us and asks us to not use curse words and to watch our language. I turn around and there are kids with their family's behind us mind you we are sitting at the BAR where there should only be people over the age of 21! I am sorry if you choose to sit at the bar you subject your kids to that environment who are you to complain about people drinking and letting loose. When I sit at the bar with my son I know the type environment i am subjecting my son too... Don't tell me to watch my language at a public place in the bar area where there is alcohol I am a paying customer and I deserve to be treated with respect we were not intoxicated or anything we were jus venting to each other... I will NEVER go back I have had other issues with this same bartender before.. Apparently she "thinks" she has the authority to tell me something... I spend a lot of money at that restaurant and i will never go back again... If I had a restaurant normal practice is that the bar area is for customers 21 and over maybe Applebee's needs instruction on this normal practice
went to dinner last saturday, ordered fish and chips, and crispy shrimp dinners the fries on both dishes were inedible and so was the coleslaw. took forever to get a second cup of coffee. just all around a lousy dinner
Went for lunch later in the day around 3:30. The place was almost empty. It took them forever to decide where to sit us. Then another wait to get serve. There were several employees just standing around. When asked if someone would wait on us they said
in a few minutes. Right... Finally a server came and asked for drinks when told her she said she had no idea what kind of wine was at the bar. She brought water, carrying several glasses, spilling all over, she said there were no trays. Finally we ask for a glass of wine, we did a glass. When asked for another the employee behind the bar
asked "do you need to have clean glasses" very rudely. We said yes of course and he huffed. When we did get the glass my glass was visible broken. When I brought it to him it just glared at me. When asked to see the manager he said "what's the big deal." The manager never appeared for about 30 minutes. He did not charge us for the wine but I have never seen such a rude employee. His name was Ryan Brusso.
My friend and I have gone to the Bloomington and Coon Rapids Applebees for some time now, for atleast the past 4 - 5 years
and the foods always been excellent as well as the service thats why we continue to go there. But last night (2.27.13 at about 630 pm) really pissed us both off. We sat at our table for like 20 min n NOT one person came n asked us if we wanted any beverages or nothing. Atleast 3 servers walked by our table n looked at us but did nothing for us!, and we could see them standing up by the register talking and laughing, so obviously they werent real busy Finally Dan had enough n said "this is bs we're leaving" So we got up put our coats on n left. As we were leaving the manager, hostess, n the girl behind the register could see us n could tell that we were pissed off n none of them said or did anything Thats too bad for them cause we're generous tippers. Needless to say we wont be going back anytime soon
I was in applebees in waynesboro, va, on 3/2/13. Myself and 3 family members all ordered drinks. The drinks tasted as if they only had fruit juice in them no liquer, We all ordered a salad, which three was brought out 5 min before food a appertizer, which was brought at same time as main course. As for mine it wasent brought at all had to ask an watress said didn't know why mine wasent out yet.We axually had to set our dishes in window seal because they were not being picked up.I was very disapointed over this service! Iwas very slow in there an no reason for this kind of service! Me and my family eat at this applebees all yhe time.
I agree with the others, Applebee's needs to hire managers who are more courteous and ask how the food is instead of how are the customers and then get started telling the customers about their own personal lives at home. He talked way too much. We were there to eat a nice relaxing meal. Then husband found a date sticker in his fried chicken caesar salad. When he told the waitress, the manager came back to our table and said he was sorry but then started telling us all about the stickers being quickly dissolveable and stuck his tongue out at us when he was saying he put one on his tongue one time just to see if it would dissolve. We could have cared less about all that. We told him we could understand this mistake but we did not care about all the other. Was he trying to say, Oh, it really wouldn't have hurt if we swallowed it? Anyway, the point is Applebee's needs managers that know how to do their job. Maybe they need some training in manners for the manager? Also, I ordered the blackened tilapia which had some broccoli that was yellow before they cooked it. The fish was old. The meal was not enjoyable and then the manager topped it off. Thanks for listening.
omg I took my husband to applebees for fathers day it was awful the waitress was experienced but very apathetic as if she could have cared less if we were there at all food was awful my 10.49 salad was green lettuce 5 small grilled shrimp a half of a boiled egg and several small chunks of avocado I was told I would get more salad dresing but did not our chips and salsa came first and the chips were stale well when I got home I tried doing online survey and it said that I exceeded the age limit to give my opinion, Im 57 and I will never ever go to applebees again NEVER
Applebee's in Union city Tn. is a joke! Kelly the manage shouldn't even be a customer there, she doesn't know how to a manager or a customer for that matter! THE VERY WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT EVER! EVER! Will never go back to any applebees anywhere!
To whom this may concern I recently dined at your Middletown/Walkill store with a few of my retiree friends I was asked to do a survey regarding service/experience myself as well as my 7 friends I did, and enjoyed everything but in doing the survey and all of us not being so "computer" literate I think we hit the wrong button "strongly disagree" we loved Marie, we loved Steve, Paul and enjoyed the delicious food!
I agree with everything that's been said about the service in the Applebee's restaurants. My friends and I have similar experiences Applebee's in various areas of New York City. Finally, we all have decided not to patronize this franchise any longer. We are also puttin the word out to everyone we know. Warning people not to patronize this chain any more.
The complaints are right on the money. If I read in the papers tomorrow the franchise is closing, I would not be unhappy .
Went to the South Salem Oregon Applebee's sat in the bar area tonight (04/30/15). Worst service I have ever had there. My waitress was horrible. Saw her twice. When we ordered and when she dropped the check. My drink sat at the bar for at least five minutes why bartender and manager small talked. Some one brought us water but not our server. And we had to ask for it twice. Not to mention that was what my wife was drinking. Appetizer was just dropped on the table by I don't know who. NO PLATES or SILVERWARE. Nothing said. Just slam. Not even a minute later our steaks were dropped off finally someone got us silverware . Steak was under cooked we requested medium well and they came out medium rare. We ate a little bit of them but they were just not right. Mention it to her but it seem like she really did not care. Brought us a couple boxes and walked off. We finally figured out we were supposed to pay on the computer gadgets on the table. Its only by chance a waiter came by and showed us.
I will not be a customer to Applebees any longer. Last week, I registered a complaint with Applebees Corporate Office to inform them about the inadequate service that this location (Greenburgh, New York) displays.
Point given, they are always out of product, (Beer, Food, broken refridgerator serving beer in hot glasses, out of glasses, the food is in poor quality when brought out from the kitchen, and when brought to Management's attention, they don't care. In fact, one Manager on duty at the time told me on one occasion that "It Be That Way Sometimes".
I informed Coporate that it is the servers and Bartenders that gave that location great service that exemplifies the greatness in protecting the Applebees brand name, and bringing loyal customers back to that Resturant. Sadly to say, The Management Team at that location lacked Professionalism, and Moral Dignity for it's customers.
Today, I received a call from an (Area Director) for this Franchise (Not Corporate Resturant) who asked me what was the problem. I stated my complaint as mentioned earlier in this message. To my surprise the Area Director stated to me that her Manager's will never talk like that to a customer. My response to her was that I am not a liar and would not arbitrarily make this up.
She then stated that are you the person that orders salad, and I stated yes. She then stated that she is sorry I feel that way that she does not want me back at their Resturant anymore. My reply was no problem, I will take my business else where. I called Applebees Corporate Office, and again filed another customer complaint reiterating the aforementioned. They stated that they were shocked, and that they will further investigate however; this is a franchise, and they have a right to refuse service to anyone. (Sounds Like The Jim Crowe South All Over Again).
To be honest, I came there because I have met some great people at this location, and have made friends as well. The place is a cheap dump broken Resturant that never have 100% what you ask for. Out of beer, the refrigerator is broken, out of certain foods, out of certain glasses, out of this, and out of that. What they should be is out of Damn Business. Point Blank, and I give them one year from now or less that this come to past.
So, I will NOT be back there ever again, and I will take my business back to where I belong, White Plains real Business Establishments. I have sent this message to all of my business partners who are calling telling me that they are in total shock. They are also going with me to other establishments that treat their customers with dignity and respect.
today, I went to my local Applebee's location and ordered a standard burger with a coffee. My ordered the identical menu Items as I did.
the only difference is that I ordered mine, medium rare to medium, and my wife ordered hers to be well done.
we received the coffee promptly, however the burgers took well over 35 min. to appear, the well done burger was fine, however the medium/medium rare burger was well done, the same as the well done burger. when I questioned the waitress as to what happened, she stated that this was the second burger that the person who was cooking had already made a second burger as he cooked the first burger well done also.
I got to see the manager about the complaint, he offered to cook another burger for me. I could not take the time to waste another 1/4 of an hour, or more waiting for the meal to be remade, while my wife's food was getting cold if I should have to wait that long again. the manager stated that the person who was cooking was a superb cook, but was having a bad day. the restaurant was less than 50% full, and if the cook was having a bad day, the manager, should have sent the person home to resolve the issues, instead of aggravating the customers in the restaurant . it is too bad that the management of the Keene NH store on key road does not know how to train their cook in the proper food service. I have been a regular
at this location since they opened in Keene, and it is too bad that they can not get one of the basic items taught to the staff on it's proper preparation.
the service was excellent, the food could be good, but it will be a long time before I return

I went to Applebees in my town and the experience was lame. Bad service, bad food and bad manager when we tried to complain. If you are going to claim that you are a neighborhood restaurant you have to staff it with people who want to be nice.
I want to speak to someone at Applebees corporate about this.
On May 5th 2014 at 2pm, during work hours as a nanny, I took the baby (11 months old) out to eat with the consent of his parents.. I went to Apple bees on Flatbush Avenue and was seated. In looking for the baby's spoon in his bag, I felt a ### on my arm that was on the wooden table. I thought it was a wood splinter, only to my surprise it was glass chards from a broken glass I assume. I looked on the table and everywhere was broken glass. I jumped up, grabbed the baby and saw his little thumb finger was bleeding. He had gotten cut also. Now there wasn't much blood, but I freaked out because this was not my child.. I called management, in which they hustled me to the back so no one else would hear, so I was robbed of the chance to take a picture. The supervisor named Ebony, saw it and had it cleaned right away. I first refused an ambulance cause the cut seemed minor, but then I made them call the ambulance to make sure the baby had no more splinters in his arms. They checked and he was ok. They cleaned the little wound and put a bandage. I cleaned my wound and I was ok but more shaken up and traumatized thinking the baby could have had a worst accident. I sat in the back for 2 hours and was calmed after. I was told the manager would be back on the Friday 9 2014, and he would contact me right away. Today is the 14 May 2014 and still no call. Is this what business has come to. They get away with things like these and no one is held responsible? After calming down they brought the meal I had ordered prior to the accident and the nerve of my server to bill me for it after the ordeal I had, and she had an attitude when I said I was not paying for it. This is hands down ridiculous and they need to be held accountable for their actions so no one else is hurt.
Went to Applebees for lunch and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated (no big deal) we were seated and shortly after being seated they allowed a karate demonstration near the front entrance that lasted about 30 to 40 minutes with lots of yelling and clapping (very annoying for what you expect to be a nice quiet lunch)! Then they allowed someone to walk around a sell raffle tickets for the karate demonstration (another anoyance). We ordered our food and waited at least 45 minutes while people around us you arrived after us were already served and done eating. When our food arrived it was cold to the touch and we refused it and left. It was the worst experience I have ever had dining out and I will not ever eat at Applebees again. The last time we ate there the service was horrible, but we gave it another try and this was just ridiculously horrendous! Our waiter used the excuse that the whole karate thing was making everything confusing and assured us that our food would be hot (we asked him if the delay would make our food cold) and then another server brought our food and my pasta was cold and my husbands chile fries were cold and soggy: my sons chicken tenders were also cold! We went to Elephant Bar and Grill and had extremely fast and curteous service and a meal that was hot and delicious. You need to check into this, I don’t think that we were the only patrons who were upset. The complaint sight for Applebees does not work…apparently they don’t want to hear about peoples complaints!
I go to Applebee's in Lufkin, Tx a couple of times a week and usually always enjoy the atmosphere. However, the past few times I have had "Jenn" as my waitress. I don't like to complain at all but her service is horrible. She is very rude and I always see her sitting down at another table while my drink needs to be refilled or need something else. I am not the only customer that feels this way about her. I have talked to many other customers in reference of her and many wonder why she is still employed there. Jenn gives a bad reputation to Applebees.
I have thought about this all week and have come to the conclusion that something needs to be done about this kind of service. I still have the receipt and the restaurant I am referring to is the Applebee's in Owensboro, KY. Last Saturday night we took our daughter out to dinner to celebrate her recent purchase of a home. It started out to be a nice celebration at our local Applebee's. We each ordered a sirloin dinner with baked potato/vegetable. When the meal was brought out the steaks were all on the chilly side but my steak and potato was completely cold to the touch. The waitress saw that I was not happy with mine so she had the manager come over to our table. I told him how cold the meal was and he said that he would replace it with another one. Up to this point I was satisfied since I was to get a replacement which I would be able to eat. But when the second meal came out it was as cold as the first. By this time my family had already finished their meal and I was left to eat mine by myself, which I did even though it was cold and not cooked to my liking which is medium rare. The manager never came back to check to see if the meal was all right or not. We have always been satisfied with the service at Applebee's before but after this treatment we will not spend our money there again. I am not talking a cheap meal. Our bill totaled $59.28 for this terrible meal and service. We have received meals in the past that was so hot that it was still sizzling when they placed it on the table. Maybe they are trying to reverse that but a meal needs to be hot in order to be good. I hope that this will get to their attention.
Thanks
Something should have been done about that host and the way that she acted. But here are some things that you should know. THERE IS NO WAY TO GIVE ACCURATE QUOTE TIMES ON A SEAT. We have no control over how long the people who are there are going to take to eat. Also, there is supposed to always be a host at the door to greet you. That does make it a little difficult for her to clean your table and try to greet you and other customers at the door. I say dont judge us until you have walked a mile in our shoes. Which on a normal night could be done in 15 minutes. We run and run trying to meet the needs of people like you only to have you complain on places like here and not to us. Here is a thought...we try to help you the least that you could do is bring this matter up in the store and lets come to a resolution instead of you storming out after 2o minutes and being a ###.
I took my four grandchildren and my daughter to the Applebees on Algonquin Rd. in Arlington Heights IL. Never again will I go there with or without them. We entertained them with the coloring until the food came. We ate and then the children got restless which was understandable as they are 10months, 2, 3, and 4 years old.I had my daughter take 3 of them to the car and i waited at the door with the 2year old. Finally 10 minutes later a nasty lady pointed to my table and asked me if that had been my table. Not knowing at the time, the waiter and the manager followed my daughter to the car and asked her if she intended to leave any money. Finally the same waiter brought me the bill that was 45dollars. I gave him 100 and he went to get change. My daughter pulled up in front so I took the 2 year old out for her to put in the car seat at which time she told me what had taken place outside in front of the other children. I went back inside for my change and asked the waiter about him confronting my daughter outside since i had not left the building. The waiter lied and told me "he wanted to see if she wanted anything else." He in fact went outside and confronted my daughter about the bill. I was so insulted that I called when I got home and the GM could only say that "I am sorry." I want the Gm and all managers to know that when people are trying to be polite by removing children so others can eat quietly, they should respect that fact and understand that if 2 women with 4 children want to play Bonnie and Clyde they would not order off the childrens menu, instead we all would have ordered steaks.
My 2 children, husband, and I walked in and was told it would be a 15 min. wait. We said it was okay and sat down. After 10 min. the Hostess told us there was a high table available, we said we would like a booth because we have two small children she told us it would be another 15 min. almost 20 min. later she cleaned of a booth that was dirty the whole time we was there and sat the four people who just walked in the door there. the waitress came up and, said you all have been waiting before them and the hostess replied you have a party of eight. I said no four and, walked out very upset. The whole time I was there people were getting seated... I guess my family was invisible. The hostess acted very unprofessional. She was seating everyone she knew, running to the door to hug other people she knew. My children were hungry and, could not understand why we didn't get to sit down or much less eat.
My wife and I took our kids out to a nice dinner before our 30 min. drive home from work on Feb. 18, 2011. We went to the Applebees bar and grill on central ave in Sylvania Ohio. When our food came out my one sons food was wrong, and my food was so cold that it felt like it just came out of the refrigerator. They took my sons food back and remade it, so he got what he ordered. As far as my food the waiter took it back and brought it right back out after they put it in the microwave. I asked him how they remade my food so fast and he told me that he was given someone elses food, but when I looked at my food it still had the same fingerprints from me touching it. The waiter also told me that he was sorry but the two managers on duty were to busy in the kitchen to come out and talk to me. So I let my wife and sons finish there food so we could leave. On my way out I stopped at the hostess station and asked for their corperate phone number. She asked me if everything was ok and I told her no. I told her what had happened. She then asked if I would like to talk to a manager, I told her that he did not have the time to talk to me when the problem happened so why would he have time for me now. About one minute later the manager came out. He asked how he could help and I told him the only way he could help is to give me the phone number I wanted. He told me he could not give me that phone number but he would like to remake my food. I Told him I did not want my food remade my family was done eating and ready to go home. He then told me he could make me a to go box and that realy upset me. I told him that if I wanted to eat reheated food I could have just eaten what they served me. So seeing he would not give me the number my family left very upset. I think it is realy sad that when you take your family out to eat and you go away hungry and upset that is very poor service.
Sunday my friends and myself went to Apple bees for lunch before going to our next church service the waitress never brought silver ware told us they had ran out and she had to go in the back and fold some more up we couldn't even get a napkin only some drinks after sitting there for 45 minutes I got one waitress to stop and I asked her if we could at least get our salads I was told they were making them in the back and I had to wait until they were done I asked did she know how long that would be she replied no, i asked did she know when the food was coming she said no very rude i was so upset I asked the other 3 ladies if they wanted to leave they said yes so we left I always go to Apple Bees at least twice a month after church but i am not going back never been treated so bad they got the worst customer service ever.
We went the Applebee’s in Wytheville, VA on Saturday, January 18, 2019. We arrived there at 5:20 p.m. and were seated in a booth next to hostess station and definitely not crowded. After sitting there for 30 minutes and no one acknowledging that we were there, I stopped the hostess and informed her that we had not had a waitress come to our table. I counted 5 waitresses on 2 sides of the small restaurant and waiting on the tables next to us. Someone came out in casual clothes and took our order for drinks and dinner. We received our drinks which were partially wrong and said nothing. A little later, we received one salad instead of the two my husband and I ordered. They came out with another which was ½ the serving size as the first. Again, we said nothing. Later, we received our meal and I received mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato. My husband said that it was wrong and I replied that it was o.k. and the server left and later brought a baked potato that was cold. My steak, mushrooms and onions were black charcoal on one side – which was uneatable. My husband’s steak was cooked correctly, but it was nothing but, one giant gristle, which was also uneatable. We did not complain about the meal, but the manager came out and said they were going to give us a discount – which they did for $15.00. Our meal for 2 with soft drinks, salads and steak and potatoes was $48.00 - $15.00 was $33.00 for a meal that was not fit to eat. No appetizers nor alcohol. This was the second time that we have had bad meals here and this was the final time. No more going there. We leave in a small town which has only a couple restaurants that have steaks. Next time, I will travel out of town
