This company is a SCAM. There are NO full-time, year-round 'jobs' with this company - everything is seasonal and part-time. They LIE and STEAL. They will terminate you for no reason. When you ask questions, they ignore you. They expect, rather DEMAND, their ACPs to be professional, but they do not give back the same professionalism. Arise has big name companies that are scamming everyday people wanting to try to make ends meet.
Below are the companies that Arise helps rob people of their money:

nekki, arise is a scam because they lie to you and steal your money. they want you to pay for training - you do not get paid while training. when was the last time you paid a company to work for them?
@Monica C - READ THE POSTS! YOU WILL BE ROBBED FROM ARISE!
@[protected] - If Arise is such a great company, then explain to me why I was terminated when I met ALL of the SOW requirements (hours, talk time, passed all qa's, never received any customer complaints, etc.). NOTE: You are the idiot! You are tied to your home office and when working from home for Arise you cannot be outside playing with your children or pets, or taking care of yardwork or household chores. Me on the other hand, I am self-employed with a real career. I am not tied to my home office waiting for the phone to ring - what that means is I can be outside gardening or playing with my kids and pets. I can also be grocery shopping while I am working. My clients expect me to have a life and are ok when they hear kids in the background or dogs barking. I set my own hours, I do not pay bi-weekly fees just to earn a paycheck and I am making more money than you will ever earn working for Arise.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Have any of you ever wondered why someone with GOOD experiences and HIGH praises for a company or product would visit a web site titled Complaints Board? What would make such a satisfied customer search for a site, such as this, in the first place; let alone respond to any of the negative comments posted within?
Is it possible these "posters" may be company executives trying to quell the bad press?
Perhaps I am too cynical.
I know, let's put it to the "Duck Test." If it walks and quacks like a duck, it's a duck.
Or in this case, a SCAM.
hi,
im in 2 minds weather to sign up to arise. Does anyone work for shop direct through arise if so what is it like?
I just saved $100 by switching to GEICO!
I just saved $100 by switching to GEiCO!
@slpref- Actually, I am just sick of people trashing them. They are not a scam, as evident by the years I have worked as an agent. But do not take my word for it…. Or that of the thousands of other agents currently working for them… or the word of the BBB… or the word of Good Morning America (which is how I found them).
No, take the word of a few disgruntled people as fact.
Who is the duck… er sheep again?
Ahh thank EWE.
I have been working for Arise f or 8 months. I really enjoy it and have told family and friends about it. My husband also just completed certification and we will have to see how it works for him. It is not a scam however the company is not perfect. The certification courses are steep and wayyyy to long. The fact that you dont get paid during training and that you have homework is a little overwhelming. I will say overall I think its worth it. I wish they would change some things like the resolution center and there communicatio with the VSC's really, really needs to be imroved. All in all when I weigh the pros and cons its worth it. Working from home gives us flexibility and freedom that is worth more than money and I'm glad to be a part of it. I hope not to experience being terminated but even if i am i'm sure i would pick up a different client. If you are wondering rather or not to trust the opportunity i would say yes, go for it. It really is not a scam, its just not a perfect company. But who is?
I have been working with Arise for over 2 years and agree with everyone that says you get what you give. If you work hard and meet all the requirements necessary you can succeed and make lots of money. If anyone was terminated, they were not meeting the requirements to get the job done. What they ask you to do FROM YOUR OWN HOME, making your own schedule, is no more than any company would ask you for. Show up on time, work when you say you are going to work, treat people that you speak with on the phone with respect and professionalism, and the training that you invest in, make sure you stick to the client's rules and regulations and you should be fine. Any company, even McDonalds ask for you to preform this way.
Being bitter and trying to taint a company that gives people opportunity to balance life from home is just one that is not willing to do the above to make it work. Like anything in life, if you work hard, results show.
Arise charges for classes, then they charge a bi monthly fee of 19.95... then their systems don't support each other and their "live support" is nothing but a scam! Every time Arise has a system glitch they hold that against your metrics, unless if 30 % of acps have the same glitch they may make an exception... Each class can cost up to 250.00, then take up to 2 months of non paid training, then you may not pass the class, not only are you out your class fee you are out all the time put in and still don't make any money. Any time there is a system issue we are told to go to support, more times than not support makes it worst, 1 simple problem can take 2 days, 11 hours and 7 different support people to try and figure it out... mean time you can't work, your metrics take a hit and they don't pay for one second of that time is support! Keep in mind they can cancel your statement of work if you don't meet your metrics and the majority of the issues are with Arise and it support team... THEY ARE A JOKE! So if you are lucky and never have any system issues and show up in time you can make money but I really think you need a personal magic man to make that happen! They are getting tons of news coverage but the news media needs to see the truth... That's why I started with Arise to begin with, ABC had a segment about Arise, so I thought it must be good! :(
You have to incorporate to be a part of Arise (fees, time and paperwork). You have to pay for your background check (fees), a fee is taken out of every check (fee), you pay for your own training (fee and time) which is very expensive and nonrefundable and if you change your mind about a program, it counts against you and you are blocked from other programs (fee, time, loss opportunity). If you keep your head low and you stay out of trouble and don’t ask too many questions like, (why did I get pay $22hr with benefits for this same job in the real world and your are paying $7.50hr minus the bi-weekly fee (severely reduced pay) for the same job with NO benefits except, well you get to work from home so this novelty should satisfy you to all ends and justify whatever they want to do with you. You have to scavenger for your work hours; if you don’t show up on time when they put out the scheduled time slots you would be out of work for that week or have to constantly monitor the schedules hoping that someone lets something go(loss opportunity). When you add up the fees, time, paperwork, and loss of opportunities you might as well find another work at home company or work for McDonalds.
Not sure if I would call them a flat out scam, but I would question their ethics to a degree. I started going through the training and was kinda turned off by it. Nothing bad against them here, just didnt feel like a good fit for me. However, what IS bad on their end is the amount of spam they send me on a damn near daily basis. Not only to my email inbox but to my cell phone! The best part is when you try and "unsubscribe" via the link on their email you get an error from their database (and its been like this for about a month now). So I called them and the rep I talked to said he will "try" to see if he can have it removed for me. So yeah, they may not be a scam, but they are not the most ethical by any means. There is NEVER an accuse to send someone marketing email at the volume they do...and to send marketing voice mail to my cell phone on a semi daily basis? yeah, that is pretty over the top.
I just started with arise and i haven't found anything to discourage me from this job for me its just a second job to occupy my time and i was ready to pay the fee but it was actually on say for 29 dollars but then all of a sudden it was free this weekend so i enrolled and i have a 100dollar voucher for Att so i think i will try and see how it turns out i see some good comment and some bad comments so i just want to say thank you for putting your opinions up to help me know what to look out for.
In one comment Bray mentioned that he is involved with B&N. Could someone please let me know who B&N is? Thanks a million in advance and an early Merry Christmas!
I signed up for AAAMSC because I am a single mother that works at night and I have to leave my teenage daughter at home alone. I started passing all the test but I have problems getting into the practice group at night. So I decided to quit my job a week before I finished AAA training. The end of the class I passed all the test and now I have to do three certification calls. I was sent an email the following day stating that I was not client qualified without any explanation. So I requested the QA form. On the QA form they failed me on one call, stating that I miss spelled the city. In my words that wasn't true, I asked the member how do you spell that city and he did, then the call spots. If the city was not spelled correctly, the call would not spot in their system called D2000. On the QA it asked “Did the ACP offer AAA products?" and the answer was YES, but at the end of the QA there was a note stating" I did not offer AAA products." That contradict the previous statement, meaning whoever was doing the QA intended to fail me anyway or they weren't paying attention to what they were doing. If they were paying attention they would have noticed the member agreed to go to an AAA approved facility. There are a lot more negative on the QA that is not true. I wrote a letter and no response. Now I need to know who the Chain of Command is for Arise. I keep in touch with previous AAAMSC classmates that inform me that they had a situation where they needed to speak to a supervisor and they were informed by the supervisor that they are not a real supervisor they just take supervisor calls. The supervisor also admitted to be a dummy supervisor. The government needs to step in because Arise is taking money for classes and failing people for no reason. My pervious classmates are also informed me that they are on the phone for hours and only get two calls. They promised to pay a $ 1.25 per call and only pay my friend $ 1.05. There is no one she can talk to about it. I predict by the end of the 30 days, they're going to fire her because they don't have any calls coming in and there is a new class coming out.
I went through a part of the Arise process, but once I realized how much $$ they wanted you to invest to work for them, it was RIDICULOUS. There are many other companies out there that actually pay YOU, even for the training. So thanks to all of you who gave your comments, because I think Arise is not worth it.
I have contracted with Arise for about 3 years. The first client went out of business right after Christmas. From the very beginning, there were technical issues on their end that they would not acknowledge. I have come to realize that the people who are out there to “assist” you probably have some sort of financial vested interest in the company. It is like a clique, where you can never get anywhere if you have any kind of problem. Of the many issues I submitted in the resolution center, NONE were resolved promptly, if at all. The training is way too long – especially if the class is large and the instructor has no control over meaningless banter or questions that come up because someone wasn’t paying attention. Because a rep from the client will sometimes “sit” in on the class(es), I think Arise tries to impress them by showing them they cover every little insignificant detail in training. This puts more money in the pockets of Arise because instead of a two week training class, they can offer a four week class for much more money. The content of most of the classes is a lot of bullcrap. I’ve worked for about six of these type companies and only one had a thirty day training that they paid you to attend. The quizzes and tests are often poorly written and inaccurate. The instructors even give you the answers to some of the wrong questions, but come time for the test, the wording may be so ambiguous, that even with the answer, you get the question wrong.
Because I was a member of the elite sales team at the company that went under, I was given a supposed prime opportunity for Apple sales. I got to preselect hours and then all of a sudden the sales team was forced to take overflow calls for customer service. Of course, this affected our production (metrics). Also, because there is such high pressure to produce numbers, some sales people would transfer under the pretense of being a customer service rep just to pick your brain about a product. The next thing you know, your call had been disconnected when the “customer service rep” would terminate the connection and close the sale on their end. Next, we had to take overflow calls from the UK. At certain times of the day, this could be all the calls we would handle. I asked my PF about this who informed me there would be adjustments made on the client’s end. Needless to say, this never happened and all of a sudden, I got a termination notice for not fulfilling my SOW. Upon further investigation on my part, I saw that I was missing chunks of time that amounted to over 15 hours. I had documentation – the sales record numbers – to prove that I was on the phones during one shift where it showed that I had not worked at all the entire day. I never got anywhere with the resolution center and of course; there is no one you can speak with over the phone.
I strongly believe if all of the supposed “satisfied” people on these complaint forums would add up their time with a stop watch or timer as I did, they would find out that they too are being robbed by this company too.
I am a current Arise ACP. First you must understand Arise is not an EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY. It is a business opportunity; they CONTRACT other businesses to take calls for them. I have worked for them of years. Some clients have year round volume (mine does) others may be seasonal. Because of retail sales having high volume during the holidays and summer, they may have low volume Jan-May. It depends. I have made a comfortable living working for Arise, but I have done that by being an Undisputed Top Performer for them. Your SOW clearly states what is expected of you for your metrics, quality etc. and how you will be paid. If you’re mad because you were terminated, you should be mad at yourself for not following the SOW. Arise is an amazing company who has, transformed the way I work and live. Everyone on here that is complaining of high fees should know those fees are costs your business is investing and is deductable from your taxes which you would owe anyway since you’re a contractor. If you are crying about how they took your money and terminated you for no reason I assure you there was one and you were told. Don't discourage others from the potential of an amazing income and job. If you are NOT a self motivated entrepreneur looking to invest your time and possibly some revenue into something that is going to pay you well then don't apply. If you expect everything to be handed to you and that you are not going to have to work hard to be successful, go apply at Mc Donald’s with everyone else who doesn't want to have to think for themselves or work harder than the bare minimum to get the job done.
It becomes even more obvious that some of these people lack the basic computer knowledge necessary when you can't even spell check a document you post to the web.
Note: Those people who are publicly disclosing e-mails and communications and clients on these boards are idiots. You signed a NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT, you and your business could be sued by disclosing client/proprietary information publicly, i.e. client names, agreements, communications. I can tell you I started taking phone calls and after several years of hard work have moved up through the ranks and I make more now in 2 weeks than most people make in 1 month. If you put in the time, dedication, sweat, and tears, I promise you can change the way you live and work.
I do not understand how people can say that Arise is a scam. I have been with Arise for two years now. I was skeptical at first. But it has been the best decision I have ever made. First of all, Arise only does business to business contracting. Which means that you are not an Arise employee, you are a contractor. And with any contract, if you do not adhere to ALL aspects of the contract, the contract can be terminated. As with anything dealing with computers period, (i.e the internet, networking, software programs) there is always the occasional malfunction or system outage. As a business owner you have to take these things into consideration. Arise has been my sole source of income for about two years now. Not only has it enabled me to support myelf, but I am now in the process of hiring others to become ACP's. Once I have generated more income, then I can afford to pay for the background check and the training classes for those that I hire. It's how you run a business. There are costs and start up fees. If you are just looking for simple employment, then no, Arise is not for you. But if you are looking to own your own business with the potential to grow, and if you have maturity and ethical businesss mind to run a small business, then Arise is definitely the way to go !
What is Consumer Communications Corp? Another gouge out of your meager pay check? They set you up with Arise as an independent contractor rather than a corporaton in return for 10% of your paycheck. They pay you $100 for each person you get to sign up -- that was the part that really got me thinking. Why would they be so anxious to have more and more workers -- after all there's only so much work available -- so anxious in fact, they'll pay you to bring them in. They make money on those people that's why, and lots of it. I don't know that either CCC or Arise are a scam outright, but certainly they're in the business of taking advantage of people who are desperate for work. Not cool.
In addition, there are plenty of similar work at home opportunities that cost you nothing -- even have paid training.
Hi! I'm planning on signing up with Arise to work for Mac (Apple) I would like to hear from someone who has had experience with this. How much does it really cost in fees? Is it really worth it?
So how much can one make for example working via Arise for Walgreens or HOme Depot and especially Triple AAA for 15 -20 hours per week? Any one ever make $15 and hour regularly or close to it?
I'd like to have an idea before I start.
Thanks
For Arise, has anyone ever made $15 and hour or more regularly for Walgreens, Home Depot and ESPECIALLY TRIPLE AAA?
tHANKS i'D LIKE to know before I start with this.
Arise is a great place to work if you are willing to work and want to get a paycheck. There is nothing wrong with it. My husband has worked for Barnes and Noble thru Arise for 2 years now. It's not the BEST job and by far and no means the worst either. The bottom line is you get what you put in. YOu pick your hours, work, you get paid. Period. There are no benefits, bonuses, or sick time. But you get PAID. And you get to work from HOME! It is NOT a rip off. My husband has stayed for 2 years and he will continue until somethhing better comes along.
I get the idea that those who are praising Arise - actually work in their corporate structure? I am suspicious of these praisers of Arise that tell the people who have had bad experiences with them (there seems to be a lot of those) that they didn't read the requirements carefully enough, or their performance was sub par. Seriously? What about some of those that have worked for Arise for a number of years and months? I'm even more suspicious about their certification fees - this seems VERY dirty because who sets the price for the fees? Can you take that certification elsewhere and if not, what's the point of being certified? There is something seriously wrong with this company because the research that I have found has been pretty negative and some seemingly decent people have been abused by this company.
For ppl who have never even worked at Arise, if you want to keep spreading negative rumours and speculation with no proven facts to back them up, then thats ok with me! Because my husband gets paid per call. So, the less people who want to work there, the more calls he gets. More $$ for me. Go work somewhere else!
I am currently an Arise VSC working for the Rogers Communications client. All I can say is RUN, RUN as fast asyou can! This company rides the line with regards to breaking the laws. There are SO MANY people desperate for work that they keep this scummy company in business. Most people have ABSOLUTELY no idea wha true business ownership is all about, including the few postive posters here who are either Arise trolls, or people who've never owned and operated a company before. To them, this is how businesses operate...it shows their lack of exprience. The "busiess model" they present to you is a bait and switch. I'm biding my time until my freelance business picks up and them IM OUT OF HERE! 700 people graduated from my "super class" we were all GROSSLEY under trained, ingnored, some of us not payed, and much more. EVERY SINGLE PAY PERIOD we are shorted money becuse their systemsdo not accurately keep track of hours worked. YOU DO NOT GET PAID while trying to log backinto systems that boot you out REPEATEDLY... I have spent 23 of a 30 minute shift trying to log back into their systems. There are les than a hundred of us left, people quit by the DOZENS within the first week. I noticed the trolls aren't mentioning that. They also don't mention the NON EXISTANT support, the fact that the systems are down more than up and even when it is GLOBAL the "tech" support people have no clue and will sit there on the other end of the computer and insist it isn't the 5 chts at a total stand stll with CONTINGENCY messages running in red and tech support says it isn't an issue. Karma will catch up with this bunch of crooks, there is currently a federal investigation against them for labor law violations... and, I was also told, but have not confirmed that the Florida Department of Law Enforcemnt (FDLE) is invetigation corporate heads for fraud and other criminal violations. Doesn't matter what the trolls say.. the fact of the matter is, Arise will sell you the sun and once your fees are paid... you're at their mercy. My advie? DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY and if you do, STAY AWAY FROM THE ROGERS OPP!
There is a blog about this company by current and EX VSC ad ACP's I think i is called Voices of Arise. You ca probably find it by Googling.
Arise Virtual Solution is a call center that while not inherently evil, does has some unique systems to navigate through. Anyone who is contemplating working there should be aware that there are inherit risks.
All of your work will be judged by your performance evaluator, which can be very subjective. They will listen to your call and send you "grades" on how well you handled a particular call. The Virgin Mary would be hard-pressed to get 90%. They have various methods that they use to grade you. Everything has a number.
Arise focuses more on the negative than the positive. They are there to tell you about all of the things you do wrong. You can take 20 calls that day, but you'll be evaluated on the one that didn't go as well. Since you are not physically there--they use negative impact training to scare you into submission. You'll get accusations of "call avoidance, " "chat room avoidance" when you don't even know what it is. Basically, you are guilty until proven otherwise. They can and will terminate you in 24 hours or less, without notice if you are accused of such.
The phone systems constantly breakdown. There are system issues that pop up and usually if it does, it's something wrong with YOUR system--not theirs. You spend hours (2-4) in their support queue--unpaid--to correct the issue.
They provide you with complicated metric schemes. However, none of your paychecks will provide you with that same breakdown. A common complaint is underpayment. You'll just get a plain invoice that shows the total amount paid, and that's it. No mention of hours serviced or days. It will be your word against theirs when it comes to compensation. And you'll lose.
There is a issue as to the provisioning of hours. Depending on the client, your hours are governed by the amount of surveys you'll get. One of my clients was a tax preparation company. Most of the clients who called had no idea on how to operate the program or at times--how to navigate the internet. Your ability to get surveys returned by these types of callers will determine the amount of hours you will work. So no matter how hard you work or how wonderful you are...if the customer does not fill out a survey, the baby may not get diapers that week.
Some of the newbies ignore this revelation. 60% of your "grades" are based on returned surveys. During a slow season this can make or break you.
I would only recommend this a supplemental income, one you can take or leave.
They're a seller of services and they sell names. they've just found a way to do it while helping those that are just barely employable.
I recently started the process for Arise. I am now in the background stage and was recently sent an email on a reduce fee for $19.99 and $30.00 for another. After reading the complaints i am so frustrated to hear so many people are unhappy. I was so excited to find out their was no credit check i guess that's how they get people to sign up as well. I hate to see that there are companies who take advantage of of people especially with so many people unemployed and trying to make an honest living. Wow! my excitement just dropped below zero
Withe Arise I theink it has more to do withe thee individual clients and thee team which supports theat particular client. AAAMSC is a JOKE..I know theis from personal experience. I would NEVER again work for a client theat is per call rate only withe no base pay! They want you to rush therough thee call in 265seconds or less and it IS POSSIBLE I guess but it is VERY DFIICULT. AAA is emergency road service and I refuse to cut corners just to stay under 265 seconds. These members who call in pay for theis service and depend on us to get it right...speedy service don't mean squat if it is sent to thee wrong location or if we cannot reach thee member do to poor directions being entered or a wrong callback number. AAAMSC is one of thee most expensive classes Arise has and I did not come close to getting $295 worthe of training! I am not alone in this and most of thee people I certified withe are eitheer gone or feeling thee same way. Support withe Arise is worse thean a joke, I do not care what ANYONE says because I spent thee first monthe after certification tyring to get thee programs to run right on my PC. I am sure some will say it was my fault as Arise tried to do...but I sent theem emails from my phone company showing I had analog phone service as required, DSL withe modem only (routers or wireless are strictly forbidden) and my PC is brand new and is used for notheing besides work for Arise, no extra programs, tons of memory, no personal stuff ect. I STILL have problems almost daily withe thee work systems. I pay almost $20 out of each check (7the and 22nd of thee monthe) for tech support theat is thee equivalent of my 6 year olds computing ability! I and otheers flatley REFUSE to go to support now for fear theey will only make matters worse 9which is what generally happens). Once we had certified we wer basically turned loose on our own, we have no direct supervisor or contact person to act as thee go between between AAA MSC ACP's and Arise. Our " Clients Results Manager" has never taken a single call for AAA! Now withe theat said, my wife also works for Arise and she does have thee same issues as far a support and contact withe Arise but she works for a different client as has serviced 2 otheers in thee past and thee work is good...you WILL NOT make a fortune but you can make money withe Arise. I would NEVER ...EVER recommend AAAMSC to anyone, and theat is a shame because I love thee work and thee members we deal withe daily. I honestly theink AAA has no clue what is going on withe Arise and how theey treat thee ACP's who are fielding theeir calls.Oh, and trying to get a reply back from anyone be it email or via phone will not happen...theey just plain old don't do it for thee most part...now if you start talking lawsuit or BBB theey will eventually have someone call...(more thean likely some poor sap from support who is honestly clueless) There is BIG money being made by Arise but sadly theey seem to have forgotten exactly who makes theat money for theem sometimes! theats my 2 cents.
this company is horrible. the final questions are very misleading too. I can not believe I waited my time and money getting scammed. I fell like an idiot.
I have had many of the negative experience most of you expressed here. I tried to be objective and express my displeasure with the client AT&T instead of arise. We were flat out mislead about the pay. Someone said that the pay is clearly laid out at the point of expressing interest but this is not true. The opportunity was advertised as paying up to $10-$16 an hour. No where did it state that this pay was an estimate that was actually pay by the call minute. With the system crashes that are inevitable and I am not paid you end up making somewhere around $5 an hour. Not to mention the time we waist twiddling my thumbs waiting on a call you end up making less. During the training for certification we were paid for a nesting period in which we took calls. What I found odd is that we had no problem getting sufficient hours but since we were still in training there was a limit on the hours we were allowed to work. As soon as we became certified I found that the number of hours mysteriously disappeared to barely 10 hours a week. Hardly enough to even pay the landline and internet bill. I normally don't get involved in ventures of uncertainty but a friend that I thoroughly trust told me about it. There was nothing for them to gain by me joining. One thing I will mention is that they told me to avoid AT&T and instead go with Rogers. I ignored their advice partly because Rogers did not have an opportunity at the time plus AT&T's pay appeared to be higher. This has been an epic fail but I went through the trouble of purchasing a workstation along with the LLC costs so I plan to give Rogers a try. My advice find out as much as you can before you commit to the client. The reason I say this is because most SOW's (contracts of work) state you have to stay with that client you choose for at least 90 days or risks negative feedback which will make it harder to get another client.
I noticed Miranda is posting on this forum as well. She is an Arise Troll. She wroks for hte company and trolls all the scam forums and ties to convince people that Arise is a good company. Arise has NUMEROUS class action lawsuits, one of hte most sugnificant in California. In November, I borught a new ACP on board and he chose the Barnes and Noble client, mind you this is a family member, I do not recruit SCP's as I am afraid of the reputation I will get from dealing with this company. Anyway, the new ACP paid the money to be ACP 101 certified, passed background, paid for hte course and worked hard and well for B&N. What Arise did NOT say in its advertisement is that B&N was a SEASONAL position! His SOW is being terminated on 1/31. He has met all of his metrics, and does a good job. Here is where Karma comes in. This guys is a RETIRED federal agent and is going to persue a criminal complaint against Arise and those within the corporate structure who are responsible for misleading and basically fleecing people. I am waiting for my SOW to end and I am GONE! I have not met even ONE ACP who has not had MAJOR problems with this company, NOT ONE and I come in contact with many of them via our Facebook groups and networking. The owners of this company need to be jailed. And Miranda. to put it mildly, you're transparent and in my opinion... a [censored]. I hope you're one of the ones that go to jail.
Arise.com is providing a service to promote tax evasion and no benefits to hard working Americans. If we allow companies like Arise.com to grow not only will the U.S. be broke but many Americans won't benefit from the protections that we have fought so hard against big businesses.
Arise.com practices a miss-labeled relationship with many hard working Americans doing their job from home offices. The reason why I say this statement is because the relationship between Arise.com and these "independent contractors" is an employer-employee relationship. Not only does Arise.com train these "business professionals" to do a job in a particular way but they do ongoing training about procedures and methods (which is mandatory and not paid). Furthermore, they have an evaluation system that measures the details of how the work is performed (which many times these measures are not even capable of meeting because the client’s applications don't work a quarter of the time). They also require "independent contractors" to lie to the Customers they help. They tell them to say "We are in a call center in (the state the company is in)”instead of telling them they work from home. This is probably to avoid smart people to understand the fraud they are committing. Arise.com also tells you what type of equipment that can be used. Their equipment that they make you use limits when and where you can work. All in all, Arise.com is conducting their business to have complete "behavioral control" which establishes an employer/employee relationship and not a self-employed contractor and Arise.com (B2B relationship).
Another indication that the Arise.com wrongfully demonstrates a B2B relationship is because they have a "base pay" which is a guaranteed amount of money that they pay for hourly work (most of the time this base pay is lower than most states minimum wage). Where Arise.com might be getting away with this is through the "opportunity of profit loss". Arise.com has no problem allowing hard working Americans to lose money doing a venture with them. They may say it’s all in the name of doing business but this is just wrong.
Essentially what this boils down to is Arise.com pays their "independent contractors" (employees) a very small amount of money so that they don't have to pay much taxes and they don't have to pay any employment taxes or provide any benefits for the thousands of people they get to blindly call their "business professionals" and "independent contractors". Arise.com pushes and pushes these hard working Americans to understand that the relationship is B2B but at the end of the day they have complete control over these people which again demonstrates an employer/employee relationship.
Not only is Arise.com unpatriotic but at a time when the US government is at the brink of bankruptcy; this is just wrong. I want to think that the large companies, that are Arise.com client’s (I won't name them for their sake), are unaware of the situation. They probably are thinking about their shareholders and how much money they are saving on this cheap labor. And they want to look good about it so they tell people "We are bringing the jobs back to America"! Hurray!
Don't be so blind and to think that providing the service that undermines the American Labor laws is a win for the U.S. The jobs that Arise.com provides are underpaid and obviously wrongfully miss-classified to prevent the cost of benefits and taxes. Arise.com should be stopped and all Americans should be made aware of this type of fraud.
All I am reading is how terrible and how great this company is. What do you do for them? I cannot find anything saying something about what you as an employee do for the company. Can someone please explain?
I've worked for Arise for a little over a year. I've worked customer service clients and sales clients. I was not thrilled when I started because of all the money you had to put up front. With equipment, incorporation, and training you start out in the hole around $300-400. The training classes vary by company: some are only about 4 weeks, while others can last over 2months. You do not get paid for any of your training. Once you certify for a client you schedule yourself from hours that are posted as available to work. This is a great feature because I have children, so the flexibility is great. However, many of the clients have seasonal peaks and lows. You may have a week where you could work 40+ hrs and the next week you won't be able to get enough to meet the hours you are required to work in your client contract. You do get paid twice monthly but you absolutely need to keep track of the hours you work independently because there have been many instances when the amount I was paid was considerably less that what I should have been paid. In those cases you have to submit "Tickets" to the support department and wait to hear back which can take quite a while. I was always reimbursed when there were discrepancies. My only big issue with Arise occurred recently. I had been working for Carnival Cruise Line Direct Sales Dept. for almost a year. My contract had been renewed and extended. I had been meeting all my metrics goals and was a top performer under my Performance Facilitator. I had received no negative evaluations or notifications about my job performance until one day, out of the blue, I received an email informing me that my contract was being terminated because I had not met a requirement in my client contract. I was totally blind-sided. When I tried to get more information about the termination and find what options may be available to me, all my attempts at communication were ignored. Even my own Performace Facilitator couldn't get any information out of them and was as confused by the termination as I was. So to summarize, NO Arise is not technically a scam. You do get paid and you don't have to call people at home, stalking them to get them to buy things from you. However, you have to realize that you will be required to spend a considerable amount of money up front, the hours available can vary drastically, and you will receive little, to no support if you have any issues. You can be terminated from any client, for any reason, without any warning except an email when you find out that none of your codes work and they have released all your scheduled hours. It's a gamble. Some people can make it work but many more do not. After recent events with the company, I have to admit I have been greatly disappointed and am unsure if I will work for them again or possibly switch to a different company. I enjoy working for companies that make you feel like an asset and Arise just seems to reaffirm that you are expendable.

Hi im interested in working for disney through arise, does anyone have an input or know anyone that has worked for disney?
Arise is currently charging $279 to train to work the Disney client. You must have Minimum 1 year sales and customer service experience. Training is unpaid and lasts for about 4 weeks. They guarantee a minimum of $8 per hour. With bonuses, the average salary is $9.47 per hour. Please keep in mind, that you have to pass the quizzes and final exam in order to certify. If you don't, then you loose your money and the opportunity to work for Disney through Arise. Since the economy tanked, I have noticed that there are more people not certifying. The classes become so overbearing that they just can't keep up with the work or the instructors find small reasons why a person should not certify. I believe that Arise is padding its pockets right now. It is very profitable for them to not certify a lot of people and keep hiring over and over again. I am starting to believe that there is a serious scam going on at Arise right now. You may want to try to work for some other companies that won't charge you to train. They will pay YOU and NOT the other way around. It is in the best interest of a company that is paying its employees to train to ensure that they are learning the material and are ready to work. If they keep hiring new people, its going to cost them too much money. If you need any other help please let me know. I have been with Arise for a very long time and I am fed up.
Arise is already involved in a proposed class action lawsuit
