Cruise
Avoid this travel agency. It is a total front with call centers receiving the first call which is transferred to individual travel agents who don't follow up, are disconnected with the Avoya mothership and are not responsible for anything but taking your credit card and booking your travel. The advertisements are misleading, the fine print is nebulous in...

I have booked a cruise with a independent travel agent of Avoya Travel. I have been trying to contact her since Thursday September 5 with no luck. I am receiving no response back from her. I am very frustrated! When I book the trip in Feb. of this year, only Jr. Suites were available. At the time of booking, I had wanted a bigger suite and the agent told me she would watch out for them. Well last week the Grand suite became available so I emailed her. No response. Now those suites are gone. I have basically done all the work she was suppose to do. I booked my own airfare, I booked my own hotels pre cruise and post cruise, did research on activities to do on the different island. Does anyone know where I can complain about this specific agent and get some assistance?
Scam--false advertising
I have used Avoya travel on a prior cruise and was promised onboard credit. When I went on the cruise I was given credit but it was minus $300 promised. Fortunately, I had the information in writing so the Guest Relations on Azamara did some checking and we did get the credit. I thought it was an accident until I read others has same problem. Then I received email with a great price advertised so I called to book the cruise. For some reason, the Agent, Judy Kramer, could not get the advertisement to pull up not could she get Avoya (who uses contract Agents) to respond to my request to book this good rate. She stalled many times and suggested other good cruises. I wanted the one that I picked out and finally said, Please do not send anything else--respond to my request to book the price at the advertised price online. I cut and pasted the advertisement and emailed it to her. She responded that she emailed The office and could not get a response and hated to drag it on over the weekend that was Friday at 5:30--today is Tuesday and this makes at least 2 weeks this has been going on. I expect no resolution nor do I expect them to honor their advertising. I have copies of all correspondence but just am not bothering to contact any more. BE WARE! False advertising! Keep everything that has to do with Avoya as they do not follow through on what they say!
Called on these advertised cruised and Avoya Didn't know what I was talking about.
Competency
I have just completed a contract with Avoya Travel and Celebrity Cruise Lines. The agent, Ellen S. bent over backwards to supply me with all of the information I reqested. I had read the negative reviews placed here about Avoya so I was apprehensive in entering into a contract with them. Ms. Ellen put me at ease and painstakingly led me through the process, albeit that I questioned every step of the way. I have nothing but praise for Avoya and Ms. Ellen and the reviews I have read on the negative side suggest that either the customers didn't do their homewwork or they were trying to negotiate something outside of the basic contract. Avoya and its staff do not deserve these negative reviews. Gary Fillinger, Canada.
Non-Existent Customer Service and Overcharging
I booked a Norwegian (NCL) cruise with Avoya Travel on Wednesday October 15, 2014, for January 30, 2015 sailing on the Norwegian Gem from New York. I booked with their agent, Lisa Coram (of Andrea Coram travel).
Prior to booking, I had great customer service. I have documented in email the confirmation of my trip price in USD (final after all taxes, port charges, etc), full details and timing. I have in writing that they would charge $250USD per person as a deposit, the balance due November 10. It is now November 7 and I have not been able to get ANY answers or correspondence since as to why I was OVERCHARGED over $800USD on my deposit. The only reply I have been getting is "I will find out for you ASAP and get back to you by the end of the day". I have followed up multiple times over 3 weeks and have not received any answers. I have also followed up with Customer Care (the direct email, 4 times) and the customer service hotline, where I was told that no customer service representatives were available to help me and that they would send an email to ask someone to call me back. NO ONE has called me back.
It is very alarming that I 1) was overcharged on the deposit, and 2) cannot even view my balance owing on the account. I am worried as I do not have confirmation from the Norwegian website that the deposit that I was overcharged was even applied to my account.
I find it extremely unprofessional that I cannot get any help from corporate customer service or the agent Lisa Coram of Avoya travel. These are two very simple and easy questions to answer and a basic expectation that this company cannot seem to provide.
Until I receive an answer and compensation for the overcharge I would advise anyone to not book with Avoya Travel. I will update this complaint and or remove if it is resolved.
I'm confused. They charged you a bigger deposit than expected but you would have to pay eventually. What compensation are you looking for?
Not trust worthy
Just a brief review to let people know that when I used Avoya Travel/Sue Ratliff for an Oceania Cruise in June 2014 everything went as scheduled. However, when booking our next cruise trip while on board, all information relating to the next trip is given to the travel agency/agent of current record. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, but after letting the agent know we would be revising the location of our next trip, we didn't get much information as to what early booking and any other promotions the cruise line would offer for the revised trip from the agent. Therefore, I started to check around to find out from other agencies if they could assist me, and found out I could save money if I booked the very same cruise with them. After noting that to Sue Ratliff, she told me that any early booking savings and promotions would not transfer to another travel agency if I did not stay with her at Avoya Travel. So I checked with Oceania Cruise Line and they informed me that was not true and that all I had to do was refer my previous cruise confirmation number to the new agency and everything would transfer as if I stayed with the original t.ravel agency. So instead of telling me that she could not give me the same or better savings as another travel agency
she was untruthful with me just to keep a commission. I will not do business with a company like this.

I am so sorry you experienced this. As independently owned and operated travel agent of Avoya Travel, we own our own business. We are responsible for our own actions and customer service. I wish I knew as I am sure other travel agents are in my position that we don't lie and could help in any way. I know I go out of my way for my clients, especially trying to make them happy, even if it comes out of my own pocket. Please let me know if I could be of any assistance.

Cancel booking with avoya travel.
Your desired resolution:
For the record: deborah ross - avoya agent is a liar. I am not seeking any settlement because i was able to cancel this booking with avoya travel agency and rebook with another travel company. I just want to voice my discontend of the dishonesty service pratice of "bait and switch" which avoya travel has and still is giving its clients. Bbb should investigate this avoya travel agency. Why some many complaints file with bbb of promising shipboard credit and not delivering. Waring: stay away from avoya travel.

To share in your grief about booking with Avoya travel, I also was passed on by Amawaterways to Avoya to book a European River Boat Cruise. I was connected to an agent representing Avoya.
I booked a cruise with him and was required to place an $ 800.00 deposit with Avoya for my cruise with Amawaterways.
At about six months into my reservation, I contacted my Avoya Agent indicating to him that I may have to cancel due to finances. He suggested that I hold off as I had sufficient time to rethink my decision to cancel. As we got closer to the required time I called again to cancel, once again, I was told to hold off as I would lose the incentives that I appreciated due to early booking. Called back once more only to find out that I called to late yo cancel my booking. I was informed by my Avoya Agent that I lost my deposit of $ 800.00 due to my calling too late.
I subsequently called back, spoke to a supervisor and he was willing to give me $ 400.00 of the $ 800.00 as a deposit for a future cruise that I had to take within 12 months.
I didn't follow through so I ended up taking a hit for $ 800.00.
Myoint is this. Had the Avoya Agent honored my request to cancel with full return of my lost deposit, not only would I have rebooked for a cruise with Amawaterways, but I would have booked it with Avoya Travel.
So now we all lose. As a result of losing my entire deposit with Avoya Travel, I will not book a cruise with Amawaterways.
I will not book a trip with Avoya Travel.
And I lost $ 800.00.
Agent vanished with my money
I chose cruise from the company Avoya travel Agency. I contacted the agent and after several days I already paid the whole sum. After that I waited for the confirmation and the ticket, but the agent continued to keep silence. I waited more, but nothing happened. I tried to reach this agent, but he didn’t reply. I don’t know what measures to take now, but I really want money back. Maybe someone has any ideas how to return money back, please contact me then or leave a comment. Thanks.
Cruise
I have a TA I have dealt with for several yrs and followed him. He went to Avoya Travels. I booked 2 cruises with him in april 2013, first one in June 2013 no issues, second one for April 2014. I contacted him in Early Dec to chg my cc for final ymt on cruise. He replied to me he was no longer with Avoya and they were wanting him to leave my cruise with them since he worked for them at time of booking. I had contacted Avoya customer service requesting I be released since I have no connection with any agt there. I would not have bkd with them if my ta wasn't with their agcy. They stated they would reach out to him to resolve this issue. They want the commission on this cruise for doing nothing. The agcy and my TA are going back and forth with no resolution in sight. Final pymt is due Feb 10th.I contacted Carnival they can not do anything this is between TA and Avoya. I have bkd our tkts to miami and overnite hotel stay a week before finding out after this nightmare. I can't get refunds on airline tckts if this final pymt is not made by that date.I never dreamed an agcy as well known as Avoya would have so many red flags on a complaint website..Had I seen them before bkg this cruise I would have informed my agt I didn't want to go thru this agcy. I have called Avoya cust serv.everyday for past 4 days, I only get their voicemail, I leave messages asking for someone to contact me from Avoya, still wtg for call back. This is a terrible agcy and I will never book any trips thru this agcy after this fiasco.

Nancy Rabold
I have booked cruises previously and never had as bad an experience as I did with Avoya independent contractor NANCY RABOLD.
I got an e-mail saying oceanview and inside cabins were the same price if booked as assigned at check in. This was fine by me and so I called and e-mailed to confirm this. I then went on with booking the cruise. When I got a confirmation e-mail it was for the wrong cruise, on the wrong dates. I called back in a panic and could not get the woman who booked the cruise. I called customer service and they finally got me to Nancy Rabold. She sounded annoyed and said she could fix it but it would take some paper work on her part and she would send me an updated confirmation. The next day my credit card had been charged but I still did not have a confirmation. I called her again and she sent another confirmation with part of the information correct and part incorrect it still had my destination, dining time and cabin preference incorrect. I sent an e-mail back stating some things were not correct and she called me and got very short with me and said I was wrong and it was a non-refundable cruise and I would have to call Carnival. She even went as far as to threaten to cancel my cruise. (I didn't want it canceled just corrected). I called Carnival and they told me they were not allowed to make changes to bookings completed by a travel agent. I called Avoya customer service and they said I should try to work with NANCY RABOLD but if I could not then they could assign another agent. I contacted her again asking to correct my cruise and was even willing to pay the difference to upgrade the room to an oceanview and she told me to work with another agent. This was supposed to be a last minute quick get a way that has been a nightmare. I now am booked in the wrong room type and wrong dining time and have not been able to successfully correct it.
My advice do not work with Nancy Rabold she does not seem to know what she is doing and has caused me a lot of time and I still do not have the corrections completed.
Stay away from this travel agency
I called up Avoya Travel & inquired about a few cruises. They transferred me to an agent named Jay Ravede. I spoke to him throughout the day regarding a couple different cruises on Fri., Oct. 5, 2012. I decided on the one cruise, Carnival Splendor, & he gave me a price of $2, 100 to include everything (ins. for two-my husband & myself, taxes, & port...
