Prepaid - won't reimburse me for stolen money
I called Bank of America prepaid when my EDD card didn't arrive. I was told my card was activated and all my money was gone. A claim was filed. Instantly my claim was denied. I was told this was because of the amount and all the EDD fraud issues going on. EDD cleared me of any fraud or wrong doing. My account was reopened with the bank but they never reopened my claim. I have called nearly everyday for a month and been on the phone for 4-8 hours. I have been hung up, denied to speak to a supervisor, told to wait, my request to reopen my claim have been dismissed twice, not allowed to open a new claim or appeal the decision. No one from their so called "back office" who makes the decisions has ever contacted me but out of good faith I faxed them over my email communications with the Post Master General proving an investigation was started months earlier when we realized our mail was being stolen out of our mailbox. In addition, we sent of photos of the suspect we caught on the front door video camera we install, the police report number for the report we made with the Sheriff's department and identity theft affidavit to the IRS. Now I am also facing possible eviction because of this and sent them that documentation as well. How much more proof do you need? And I sent this all and there isn't even an investigation going because they won't open my claim to conduct one.
If I have an open claim, the bank is required to give a provisional credit within 10 days but as long as they refuse to reopen my claim they do not have to give me anything. I have two little boys and a disabled husband. This claim was filed as a hardship and I can't seem to get any help. Bank of America's prepaid department is a joke. Their customer service and way of doing business is disgusting. I am appalled with how they have handled my claim.
edd debit card
On september 28, 2020 my card and account were closed/frozen. Bofa said edd froze it, edd said my account looked fine but to call back on oct. 5th. On the 5th I decided to try logging in bank of america edd card website and it worked! Only thing is, all the credit I received from a prior dispute was deducted from my account! Leaving my balance negative $5, 000! I called b of a claims department and a rep said she'd "escalate" my claim but had no idea why this happened but i'd it would be fixed within 48 hrs. Another rep said 10 business days and another couldn't say how long a resolution will take. A few days later, I receive a letter from bank of america, dated 10/02/20, saying my claim was closed because my account was closed due to suspicious activity and I could request for my claim to be reopened. Obviously, my account is verified - my account was reopened - which would mean my dispute should be reopened by default and my account adjusted to correct the bank's error. Its a simple fix, but its yet to happen. Even after multiple calls and countless hours on hold and speaking with 5 different representatives - all unable resolve this.
Because of the pandemic, I rely on these benefits. Like many, I have no other income and this type of error affects me significantly. I have been networking online and there are a large number of people in california, receiving unemployment, experiencing the same or similar issue with their accounts. This is unfair.
Bank of America is in violation of efta regulation e error resolution policy as well as their own cardholder agreement.
edd card payment
I applied for edd and got approved. I was sent a card that never showe to my address. I called edd and b of a to resend another card and I was hit by fraud of 20, 115.26. I called edd and b of a and filed a claim to be sent a letter stating that it was closed due to fraud. Yeah thats why I called in... Please help, my family and I are sinking and hungry.
edd debit card
Fraudulent transactions totaling $1482 Cleared in my card July 18. Reported the fraud to BOA same day. BOA added temporary credit July 30. Aug 10 mailed letter saying investigation complete. Credit permanent. Claim closed. October 2 letter mailed saying claim is closed, credit to be debited from account. October 4 BOA withdraws $1482 from my card. In daily phone calls with claims and customer service BOA lies and tells customers EDD took the money. October 12 BOA admits it was a bank error. Promises to amend error and Reopens claim. October 30, still no resolution, no information and BOA has failed to return funds or provide requested documentation on investigation or claim, in violation of federally regulated zero liability consumer rights under Protected under section E of account agreement.

Credit card account
I've had a credit account for approximately 10 years in perfect standing. I have not used the card in approximately one year since november 2019 balance at zero. Bank of america alaska card.
Over the years the benefits of the card have not outweighed the annual fee and are worse than ever... And I did use the card for bigger purchases but paid it off on time... Kept it open as closing an account negatively reflect on your credit... So thanks b of a for this unnecessary closure-and the reps are so pigeon holed in their focus to do the minimum, they don't even respond by offering to open it back up, as I do have perfect credit... And great relationships with all of my other banks and lenders-b of a really giving it to the middle class once again.
Recently I moved within the last 90 days and during that time they charged an annual fee. And over the 60 days did not reach out to me once, claiming that I had put a stop on phone calls. When has that stopped at banks i'm trying to collect a debt?
My wife and I both have other credit accounts as well with phone numbers listed.
When I called the representative she was initially very rude but then realized I might be giving her a review so she acknowledge that the account had been closed, without any attempt to reach me by phone or mail. I noted that I had email, but I have not received anything from them. Nor have I received a call on the same number i've had for the past 10 years. She proceeded to note email and a phone number form 10 years ago... Nothing current as I have on all my accounts.
They then noted a number that I had over 10 years ago as the primary contact number.
Another banker would also note that I put a stop on their marketing calls which I realized I did probably about seven years ago when they were calling me at all hours of the night basically marketing me to death... I noted that it should not prevent them from contacting the customer on normally scheduled business or priority business such
As the potential for an account being closed for an annual fee... Which i've always paid.
So the account is now in closed status, they waived the $59 fee and promised to not ding my credit. But they closed account always reflects negatively abs shows on credit. So that's b of a, taking a 10 your relationship and flushing it down the toilet over 60 day period, and basically leaving me with a terrible experience. Who cares right? Just another bank that doesn't care.
Surely this bank can do better... I think we've all grown tired of banks that are too big to fail, but in this case I think it's too big to be successful or be customer driven.
So now I will close my two other accounts as well and encourage anybody who does business with them to avoid it hem... I recall that we bailed those banks out in 2008, and it seems like they've learned nothing.
I'm going to email the ceo as well, not many people know you can do this but I do feel it is important that he understand that at the ground level with customers they should try to speak to them directly before they take action on their account, as I had multiple numbers and emails listed there on my other accounts as well. It appears that this might've just been an electronic function and process, that not a single person would've put eyes on this account before they closed it because if they had they would've seen the multiple avenues to connect with me, the perfect credit I for 10 years... And that up until 90 days ago perfect with the payments, etc. Shame on them for not treating their customers better-they lost a customer for life and we should all be mindful of who they are, as they showed me who they are. I told him that, and the rep said that they do care, but I feel that their process for resolution would never benefit a customer truly... All over $59 annual fee - wake up b of a, your customers are disgusted with you.
Credit card fraud
I had done all the leg work for Bank of America... the claims department has yet to perform a complete and thoroughly investigation.
I have made out several police and Sheriff reports and the CID have recovered other items that was reported. As of today, I continue to received blanketed responses from the claims department without issuing me a refund.
August 3, 2020, my daughter died. On the same day her boyfriend and his mother (police detective) begin using my deceased daughter debit card. I had asked for her items to be returned and was refused. I reported her to The Chief of Police and informed them of the matter. She lied and stated that she had none of the items.
When the CID begin their investigation they received some of the items that was said that they did not have.
I called the bank and reported my daughter death. All accounts were shut down. Weeks later... I received a letter in the mail stating my daughter had been reported deceased erroneously.
Upon, receiving death certificate I went to the local office to handle affairs of my daughter. I learned more than I would have expected a crime against my deceased baby girl.
Calls were made and people remember me calling in and reported the death of my daughter.
As I've said and reported that the two people people would not give me items of my daughter. I did not receive her driver's license, her cell phone, and other items... I had ask for her credit card and debit card. When I turned in both cards I learned that a malicious with intent had been performed. The debit card that I received was a temporary card and the thrives with intent kept the the debit card to commit crimes.
People at the local bank remember my daughter deposit a sim of $20, 000 plus and had the thieve with her. My daughter had even stated that she had inherited this money from the passing of her great grandmother.
The bank records indicates he walked out of the hospital and begin using the credit card on the same day of her death. And on the same day of my daughter being laid to rest.
This young man was so stupid and cocky that he made over 200 hundred withdrawals with many occurred at the same bank in which the account is located. They bank has him on tape making withdrawals from the drive through ATM.
On my daughter's bank statement it states that her last payroll check is deposited to her estates.
As her mother I have the legal documentation as the owner of her estate.
I'm the one listed as her beneficiary on her life insurance. [protected]
As a veteran I departed my business with Bank of America because of bad acts. And I'm fully aware of the large fraud that was committed by Bank of America and the people.
Auto loan
The absolute worst bank I have ever dealt with in my life, you could not pay me to do business with this bank again. Been trying since July to have an auto debit account changed, phone call after phone call and here we are end of October not resolved. On phone now, talked to supervisor, she sends me to online banking who sends me to the auto loan dept who tells me to call online banking. NEVER do business with this bank, and on hold for 20-30 minutes each time. Words can not express my frustration.
Blocked account
My name is Harry Khachikian, a US citizen, residing now in Romania and having an checking account at B.o.A. since 1971.A month ago I was notified of bank's action of blocking my account ( no more payment with my VISA Debit card). No reason explained and no remedy suggested. The attempt of contacting them by direct visit of a bank's branch, obviously, it's impossile, the offered contact phone it's a catastrophy (it's bussy al the time, 24 hours aday), their e-mails are "one sided", so to speak, being impossible to replay. Please advise.Thank you.H.K. My e-mail is : [protected]@yahoo.com
They closed my account for fraud
I have had a BOA account for several years. I opened my account when I lived in Missouri. I now live in TN and have been for 4 years. On 9/18/20 BOA Closed my account without any warning because I was receiving unemployment from Tx. The company I worked for is in Tx and paid our unemployment to that state. I have called many times trying to resolve the issue and get my money back. I have proof that my unemployment is a legitimate claim, and told them that I can provide it to them. I have my furlough paper work and last years taxes to show them where I worked and that unemployment was being paid to TX. They are still holding my money and said they can do so for 120 days. Everything I had was in that account including money from auto insurance policy where my daughter had totaled my car. I no longer have a way to pay my bills or replace my car. they said they are going to send it to unemployment. They are still holding it. I have called Unemployment many times checking to see if it has been sent to them yet, and it has not. Unemployment said they will return it to me when it does. I had over $13, 000 in my account. I need this money now. Because of the pandemic each time I call unemployment I am on hold for at least 2 hr just for them to tell me it hasn't come yet. I am sickened by how BOA has treated me as a criminal!
Thank you,
Amy Scallion
Edd card fraud claims
Someone accessed my account and took $500. I have tried to report this and file a claim but no one ever answers when I have been transferred to the claims department. I waited on the phone 3hours Oct 19, and two hours on Oct 20. I believe B of A purposely does this to frustrate the customer into giving up and not filing. The bank does not advertise that the claims department is only open 8-10 EST. There are a lot of WST people waiting on the line not knowing they are closed. I believe they do this as one of their trip to get you to give up. I heaved heard that even if you get through the vast majority of claims are denied.
Mortgage payments
I received a letter from the company saying I am past due on my payments. The last ten years my payment comes out of my retirement account. I feel someone has pocket this money. Jan - Jul 2020 money as on time.
Business bank account
I opened a bank account for my small business on October 7th and got everything in the mail an email that approved my account and sent me online banking information. I then got a letter that they were closing my account. I have no idea why they would go through the process of opening it up if they were going to close it an no one can explain it to me.
atm card
Through Justin McDonald, Charlotte NC's BoA, the American Express ATM Card was repeatedly delivered to me during advance fee fraud. Despite the payment of the delivery fee, the delivery was stopped by your agent.
Due to the fact that the content of these ATM Cards was intended to financially limit the spread of epidemics, this transaction came into question with the emergence of COVID-19, as the timely delivery of these ATM Cards could significantly reduce the number of COVID-19 victims.
How is it possible that your banking institution does not respond to such alerts in a timely manner.
All data are substantiated.
Loan modification
I have been applying for a loan modification for 6 months and they refuse to help me out. After I told the im out of work on disability for the past year and its getting hard to pay my bills. Ive sent in every form they have asked. They say they can not prove that I live at the address that is on there mortgage. Ive lived here for 16 years and have been paying them for 16 years. They say since I have a po box and I dont get the mail delivered to my house that I dont live here. They say since my utility bill has my po box as my mailing address even know the utility bill has both service address n po box on it. I went to the utility company and had them change the mailing address to match my service address and gave thgat to bank of america like they asked and that wasnt good enough. They asked me to get my parents utility bill to prove I dont live there. It is crazy they had asked me that. Ive sent a letter to whom it concerns like they asked stating why I have a po box box and why I get packages sent to my parents house. I live in the woods and the mail doesnt get delivered to me. Thats why I have a po box. They refuse to help me and keep getting a run around
epc card shut off and will not give me an explanation
I have been on hold 6 days in a row now with bank of america with the wrist department for about 3 to 4 hours a time i've gotten as close as having the risk department pick up the phone and basically the call would drop or I would not reach somebody at all i'm trying to desperately just make my account useful and active again and I can do so with just a simple pickup from bank of america it's been almost two months now and I feel like contacting the risk department is absolutely impossible and not likely please if there's anything I can do to get a hold of somebody please let me know I need to fix my account with bank of america

I am going through the exact same issue $7, 038.00 was stolen from some online company in one charge which BofA originally agreed that it was fraudulent charges. I submitted a police report, they denied me the first 2 times i tried to get my money back. Finally, after submitting the police report about 1 week back, they are now saying I have a provisional credit pending for that amount, we shall see if the money shows up, I'm not holding my breath!
