Fraud
Someone has SIM swapped on my phone, taking over accopunt. Changing my address, users, and phone. I cant call or email because I get hackers and my emails go nowhere. I just want my phone to be ONLY [protected] and address to be 22 Skylark St
Dayton Tx. 77535. I am getting fake addresses on my bills AND THEY Opened multiple bank of America cards and none of them show at the bureaus but I have statements and a handful of cards. I suspect they could work for card check cashing places. I want my online site close, I dont want any card to talk to these people, dont send codes to my phone. I wont call because I cant, I just get hackers, so dont respond to them. I will write you and send my license and my current bank account as they dont have the account information. They have the bank account number but not the statement itself. Please close all in my social [protected] and my husband [protected]. I am not getting my access checks anymore. Balance transfers, last one on BOA, was Dec 2019 I think to my Chase card. No more phone/online transfers, access checks only. They block us to our card often, dont get statements because they block them online. Close the online access and the apps. Card number [protected] is mine.
Card [protected] is fraudulent. close it.
Desired outcome: close online/appnew carddont answer calls not even from me. fix my informationinvestigate the balance transfers, only respond by mail only 4 usersfind out why these cards arent on the bureau.
Closed my accounts without explanation
I tried to log into my online account. Instead of access to my account. I was given a number to call. I was then given another number to call. No one could tell me why my account was being closed. I was scheduled to teach a CPR class, my daughter and I was scheduled to shop for her prom dress and the biggest thing was my tax refund was scheduled to be directly deposited into that account in less than a week. I shared this with them and they did not care. I never been treated so poorly. I needed access to my account to pay for these things. My refund was held up because of this. My family suffered deeply.
And now months later, my SBA loan was deposited into this account. Its also being held up because I had this account when I first applied for a SBA loan.
-I need help. BOA is the worst and they are prejudice against blacks. I feel that I have been discriminated against. contact me @ [protected] or [protected]@yahoo.com
Desired outcome: I want to be compensated for my suffering as well as an apology
Login
I cannot login. I have attempted to contact BOA multiple times. This has happened multiple times, but I was always allowed to change my password. this time I cannot login. I will not pay a let fee. I would like to cancel my card, and You should pay it off. this is unacceptable and unprofessional.
Desired outcome: You pay my card off, cancel my card.
Extended hold on a deposit
I am so fortunate to win $10,000 on Sunday. Right on time because I owe everyone. They asked how I wanted it cash or check. I asked for a check for most of it. Next day, Monday, 2/7/2022 10:30 a.m., I deposited the check inside with a teller. They gave me a receipt stating that I would get a portion of it by Wednesday 2/9/2022 5p.m. and the remainder would be Friday at 9a.m. 2/11/2022. On Tuesday, 2/9/2022 I paid bills and checked the status, ONLY TO SEE they have put an extended HOLD for the entire amount until 10 days later 2/16/2022. The check was written from a Billion Dollar Casino in MD. They assured me that the hold is 24 hours. I've been a patron for over 15, years of Bank of America and I get a directed deposit every friday. I am being punished because I bank here. I live paycheck to paycheck unfortunately and really, really need this money. To hold the entire amount for 10 days is cruel. You sucked the joy out of this experience. I am taking this extremely personal because it is the second time something like this happened. Last time, I was relocating and pulled money out of my 401 K. They made me wait 21 days. I lost my apartment that time after just signing a lease because of the hold on funds. THE KICKER is My car payments, insurance, rent, utilities, cable, payments are all be returned because of this RIDICULOUS HOLD. (I happily paid all my bills Monday night). I have the receipt if anyone cares to see it stating the release of $5,000 wed and the balance Friday.
Desired outcome: I would like the release of a portion so my bills can be paid NOW. Hold some of it. BUT NOT THE ENTIRE thing. I would understand if this check was from a small company or individual. There is NO excuse good enough
I have been banking with Bank of America for more than 10 years and they have been above average or adequate almost all of the time. About a week ago I tried to deposit a check for 1000 through the ATM. I did not complete the deposit because the ATM stated that a 9 day hold would be placed on the amount of the check. So I took my check into the branch made a deposit which the teller said would be available immediately. The bank decided to put a hold on the deposit anyway without letting me know they did. This is very irresponsible of the bank when bills are due. If every check deposited is going to take way longer than it should to go into my account then it might be time to find a different bank.
March 25th 2022,
Wow! Sorry to hear that. I just had the same experience with them. (I was so fed up with Wells Fargo I decided it was time to try being abused by someone else). So I opened an account with BofA since my wife also is a longtime customer. At the time I opened the accounts, I was told / ensured by the teller that the hold would be about a day or so. So I too deposited a cashier's check of $10K and another for $1.2K. NO ONE mentioned anything about the 10 day hold. The checks are Cashier's Checks from another bank! My funds are now frozen in limbo without any explanation why. "Customer Service" is a joke. A myth. I truly believe that corporations could hold human sacrifices daily at noon and "nothing" would happen. Unbelievable!
Account closed for no reason given
I had one person saving account [protected], and a MasterCard linked with it, also one cooperate account opened in BOA back to 2020.
By Jan, 2022, they suddendly send an email said both closed without giving any reason or communication channel to solve problem, they just closed them.
And I did not receive the desired Check for my amount in the account.
Everything is good standing and we use the account in route business and personal payments, that is all.
Desired outcome: I would like to get an answer for the reason and how to get my account reactivated.
Hi, Mr. Fan; I encountered a similar problem, as my B of A account was closed last month
for a "business reason". I'm still trying to find out what that means. Please try and share any
updates, if possible, because it might be helpful. Thank you.

Credit Card Settlement
In 2019, after I turned 60, Bank of America decreased my credit limit and increased my interest rate causing my utilization rate to increase and my credit rating to decrease. More importantly, it caused my payment amount to skyrocket. I am not sure if some of these charges were legit since BOA would take a disputed charge off and put it back on frequently. It was getting difficult to make these high payments especially since the job market had turned sour and I could not secure employment because of my age and sex. I even applied to Bank of America and was rejected (probably because of ageism and sexism). In the summer of 2019, I called BOA and asked for them to lower my interest rate; they refused saying that I wasn't on the list and that I should write to headquarters which I did. I never heard back. Instead I was bombarded with collection calls. My husband is disabled and in intense pain. He needs to rest and not hear phones ringing all day long. He needed my full attention. Also, since I know there are so many scams targeting seniors, I called BOA in late 2019. They agreed to settle for $2,447 but would not put it in writing. I told them to please put this in writing and I would send them the money. They refused and instead kept asking for payments through email; I am not sure if this was even legal in 2019/2020. They continued adding interest and fees even though the card was not being used and I had told them of my hardship. They obviously did not negotiate in good faith. Instead, they are now having attorneys (Couch Lambert) sue me for a judgment for way more than the original settlement or original amount and have ruined my credit. I would like for them to agree to the above agreed original settlement amount, put it in writing and withdraw the lawsuit.
Desired outcome: I would like for them to agree to the above agreed original $2447 settlement amount, put it in writing and withdraw the lawsuit.

Level AD Insurance and Privacy Assist
I am a joint member on my uncles account with Bank of America and for several years Bank of America has been taking out this Level A.D. insurance and Privacy Assist payments from his account a total of $32 each month for several years. I have been calling Bank of America to try to get this stopped they transfer me to the fraud department, who gave me another phone number and transferred me to a department for Level AD/ SmartSteps. My uncle cannot even remember signing up for this when I asked Bank of America to stop the payment they told me it would be $30 each transaction now why would I pay $60 to stop taking out $32 when he is on a fixed income I believe. Bank of America is causing senior citizens who live on a fixed income a lot stress, by taking their money each month even after they stop selling the products. The only other option they can offer in this pandemic is to change their account. With that being done this senior citizen now has to go to their retirement company and or Social Security to update their banking information which causes more stress. I have alway heard bad reports about Bank of America now I can confirm that Bank of America is not a good banking institute for anyone worst of all for senior citizens living on a fixed income.
Desired outcome: That Bank of America stops these transactions and refund the money to my uncles account.
Customer service
My fiancee and I live together and each separately bank at BOA. She received a check for something over $22,000 and endorsed it to me as I handle the bills and we had some credit card debt to get rid of. I deposited it at a BOA kiosk. The deposit was posted to my account, then removed. I waited a few days and when it was not reinstated called BOA. Total time wading between menus and then sitting in que lasted about 30 minutes. When I got to a rep, i was eventually told BOA no longer accepts third party checks excess of a certain amount. News to me. Never got notice of that, I was told they would send a voucher, but it would take 7-10 business days to arrive. I explained BOA's failure to notify of the policy change and length of time sending me a voucher would cause me to incur interest charges on my credit card bills. BOA said they were not responsible for that. Maybe not legally, but ethically and professionally, yes. Three weeks went by, and voucher never arrived. The next phone call took 2 hours and 5 minutes. BOA had sent it to the wrong address, an address we moved from a year prior and changed our accounts to reflect at that time. They acknowledged that. After all that time, they finally advised they would send another voucher, but it would take 7-10 business days to arrive. I asked if they would express it because we would incur still more interest charges. They don't do that. To whom can I escalate? Nobody. Total interest loss will be excess of $300. Time dealing with this problem is 3 plus hours. I work as a consultant from home earning $125 per hour, so that's an additional loss of $375. Then there are phone charges. All loss caused by BOA, but they take no responsibility. Why does anybody bank with them?
Desired outcome: An apology and check for $675. I have an alternative under which I receive nothing, but BOA agrees to certain customer service benchmarks and related consequences.
Countrywide home loan modification and the 2nd mortgage was not included
We did a modification, looks like in 2008 with countrywide with a Eddie Avakian.
phone number [protected] and a Irene Gay and Pamela from BoA, on the loan for the house and your people said the 1st and the 2nd would be modified. They continually said he would take care of the 2nd. Well, the 2nd is still showing opn the title. I need a certificate of satisfaction or a statement of payoff as I'm working with unison. I can be reached @ 951.255.9280 My Name is Mark Wiseman
Desired outcome: I need a certificate of satisfaction or a statement of payoff
Fraudulent Charges allowed on my account by BoA
Dispute Charge Denied!
Account ending - XXXX
Claim ID: [protected]
Bank of America makes it impossible to call or contact so please see that this gets to the proper authority.
See Attached Screenshots. First, please do your diligence and research my account, I spend at least 8-10K a month with this card and I promptly Pay so $23.95 is not a lot of money to me. The problem is that I was charged this amount fraudulently and because I could not produce a receipt, I am being made to pay this fraudulent charge by this Bank. A bank that I considered to be on top of thins till now.
Tell me, how can I provide a receipt showing that i was charged incorrectly when the entire charge is fraudulent.
Your dispute case officers got it wrong from the beginning, I think simply because the workforce these days is so lacidasical that no one cares or pays attention.
I authorized a charge from this company for $1.00 and was charged $1.00 but I received a text alert from BoA about an additional $23.95 charge in which I did not make. I disputed the $23.95 and because I said I did authorize a $1.00 separate charge, the clown in charge of my case made my dispute for $22.95 and wanted proof I was charged 22.95 over what was agreed. That is ludicrous, the $23.95 charge was a total and separate charge from the one dollar, and it was a charge that I did not authorize. See The Screenshots for the 2 separate billings.
If this is the way BoA treats their customers, then I will have no choice but to go back to Discover or Chase where I am treated fairly.
Charles Smith
Desired outcome: Deny the $23.95 Charge
After Stomping my feet and getting someone with reason to listen to me I got the desired result. I did not have to pay the 23.95 charge that was fraudulently charged on my account. Bad thing is the company still has my credit card number and has made another charge without authorization and now my card is frozen, and another card is on the way to replace it. At least they cannot continue at this point.
Joint checking account
Bank of America closed my account without no reason.
My partner and I set up a joint checking account on November 9, 2021. We transferred money into the account in order to exceed the minimum balance requirement. We used the account a few times to buy groceries near where we live. The account was never overdrawn or had a balance close to zero.
On January 10th, Bank of America informed us by mail that the account would be closed. The letter gave no reason. I missed the letter initially and they gave no other notification (such as something through the app, which I might have seen). I only found out later when the account was actually closed. We called customer service who refused to give any reason besides saying it was a 'business decision', and also refused to say how Bank of America would respond to an application to open a new account.
It is disrespectful and immoral to treat a well-behaved customer this way. This account closure is extremely disruptive at a busy time in my life. Having a joint account is very important to us and it will be difficult and time-consuming to set a new one up. I need to know the reason for closure so that I can know whether, for instance, there was identity theft or some hidden rule we violated (though I cannot think what!).
Unless they resolve this, I would strongly recommend to anyone reading this complaint: stay away from Bank of America. My partner and I are ordinary people. If it can happen to us, it can happen to you. And the inability to tell us the reasons for closure shows a basic lack of respect for their customers as people.
Desired outcome: I would like them to tell me honestly and straightforwardly why they closed the account. We deserve to know what we did wrong. If Bank of America simply couldn't make a profit off us, they should have the decency to tell us that.
Fraud claim
9-11-21 aftr going to atm to w/d my last ck I discovered my acct had been hacked
Called fraud Dept filed a claim. 5 mo later, pH calls 1-3 hrs, rude supervisors (was told by one to go to a homeless shelter), lies (telling me a complaint would b filed on my behalf) I could go on & on. I have a file an inch thick. I was told my Google acct was hacked for over 700 purchases of .99 cents to Activision, OBVIOUSLY A FRAUD CLAIM. This has caused me extreme stress, depression & anxiety.
Desired outcome: reimbursed asap. If had my way I would get interest on my money they have been withholding from me. If it was the other way around I would have to pay right? B of A needs to have a consequence for their actions of putting people thru hell.
Fraud on all cards
This happened covid time and me having chemo. All my credit cards were hit by an Attorney in NY, I live in Oregon. I have sent in all info to bank of America I do not know this person BOA has different names on him First name middle name then turned around. I was given letters stating good news it has been resolved and we will credit your accounts a couple months later I received letters on all 3 cards SORRY- We know you didn't charge this but maybe a signer on your card did or you oked someone to do it > I have NO signers on my cards nor would I give someone the ok to charge 19, 000 plus dollars to an Attorney over 3000 miles away. I have spent at least 40 hours on the phone being transferred place to place. You have destroyed my fico scores and never have you checked this. I have called this attorney number 50 time no answering service even email bounces back. You have done nothing the interest on this is unbelievable for charges I DID NOT MAKE. I went 20 miles to have lunch with a friend it was in Washington you declined my card because I was out of State! and didnt tell you but a huge charge on all my cards all the same money wasn't a flag?
Desired outcome: I want all of this off my accounts and all interest returned also letters to all credit bureaus
Fraud on my 3 credit cards they state they know I didn't make the charges but maybe a signer did I DON'T have any signers then stated maybe I let someone use them I WOULD NEVER let anyone charge on my cards let alone about 19,000 plus interest to a Attorney over 3000 miles away also an Attorney with no answering machine no office help and an e-mail that pops back return my money and interest also write to credit companies to fix my FICO numbers. Bank of America also messed up my checking account. Unbelievable 33 years at this bank.
International Transaction Fee
Dear Sir or Madam,
On 01/19/2022, Bank Of America charged a FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEE on my account (amount : $21.67). This transaction was not foreign. It was made on a US website, and the charge was processed in US dollars.
Therefore, I don't understand why I should pay such a fee given that this transaction was made in USD on a US website.
Best regards,
Philippe
Desired outcome: I would like a refund of this fee ($21.67)
Can you please help me with this complaint?
Warm regards,
Philippe
Interest charges
For some unexplained reason my DEC 15th payment that I set up on the bof site (as I have done for years) didn't go through. The first I knew of this is when my next statement arrived with a late charge and interest owed. I called a boa rep and paid the overdue balance by phone. The rep took the late fee and interest off. We're complete for Dec. I then set up a payment on boa site for the remainder that was due, days before the due date. My current bill arrived with an additional interest charge owed. I talked to another rep today and was told that all the information about charges is on the back of the bill and just pay the total due which includes the additional interest charge and it will go away.
How can interest be charged on amounts that were complete the month before?
Desired outcome: refund of additional interest charges
Mortgage payment never posted to loan but I have proof it cleared on my end so who got the money?
Almost two years ago BOA bought Shellpointe Mortgage loans and I take care of my mom's expenses and accounts because she is 77 and has Alzheimer's. I wrote a check for her mortgage, sent it to Shellpointe but the mortgage had already been transferred to BOA so Shellpointe said they wire transferred the last two payments I had sent to BOA and gave me the wire transfer batch numbers, I called BOA and told them what had happened and gave them the batch numbers and copies of the checks that had cleared mom's acct. I have worked with several departments at BOA for almost two years now, I sent letters explaining all this & copies of every check written & that cleared bank account for house payments, also any payments made by phone I sent confirmation numbers for every one of them. My mom is on a fixed income that barley pays her monthly bills & medication & she cannot afford to pay another mortgage payment (I have explained that to BOA) when this has already been taken out of her account. They found one of the wires and gave her credit for that payment but the other one has not been found they tell me to call Shellpoint and I did Shellpointe says call BOA, I feel like this is a problem between the two banks and they need to communicate since I have my proof it was paid. On April 12, 2021 I received an e-mail between two departments at BOA and it said, it sounds like they put the funds to a GL. The other person said I don't have access to mortgage system so I had the funds sent to that GL and submitted ICA ID# and it appears Cyndi has already processed the transaction and she was able to use the effective date 12/31/2020. Everything should be good to go now. Then an email came that said ignore e-mail that they were retrieving it back or something. So I don't know if that was sent to me by mistake and that wasn't mom's money they found or what but they keep emailing, calling and sending past dues in mail. The SR# they gave me when they were researching was #147237
checking account
I made a deposit of $4, 332.96 on [protected]. In the morning of [protected] I wrote a check for $4, 000. Later that day I noticed on the bank website that there was hold on the deposit. When the $4, 000 check came in I was charged $35 overdraft fee. I actually have over $500 in the account. If they put a hold on the deposit, why couldn't they put a hold on that check? I have been on hold on the 800 # for45 minutes.
Desired outcome: Put hold on $4,000 check, and remove $35 charge.
Refused to release my funds
I had been a customer of BOA for over 14 years, on Friday for no reason my accounts were closed and I was not informed. I called customer service who stated that it was an Admin decision and not court order or nothing. However, they could not tell me the reason for the admin decision, she even stated that the last overdraft fee I had was 10 years ago. BOA stated that I was not able to access my funds until the accounts were fully closed which would happen the following week. I called on Tuesday since Monday they were closed and BOA stated that my funds would be mailed after the accounts close which now would be Wednesday. On Wednesday I called and they changed it to Thursday, I called 3 hours later and BOA changed it to the following Monday. I got tired and I tried to work with them but they were unwilling to work with me so I reached out to a lawyer who asked me to contact BOA again and ask for their legal department and see how they react. Frist, BOA refused to give me their legal department number and stated that they did not have one. Then a supervisor/manager came on the phone and within 10 minutes I was approved to go to a branch to pick up my funds. I had to use my credit cards for the weekend in order to buy food and my medication because BOA refused to release my funds in which they had no reason to hold them plus were going against their deposit agreement which I read regarding close accounts. Worst bank to deal with I would never recommend this bank to anyone.
