I friend of mine sent me a check that is drawn from your bank. I went to a local (Lakewood, CA) branch to cash it. I was informed there would be a 9.50 fee to cash this check. I missed the deadline to make a deposit by five minutes and the bank refused to process the transaction, of course charging me fees! They told me on the phone that they would make a one time exeption, and did not. I called and was given incorrect information which is normal. This branch, Crested Butte CO, incompetent, rude, unauthorized withdrawls, incorrect information is what they do, when they are actually in the bank? Find a more secure bank for your money. These losers will screw up your account, if you value your money, stay far away from these people!

Where do I start? March 17th. For 3 days I have been trying to call customer service. 55 minute wait times. I can't wait online that long. I call the branch, the lack of knowledge in how to help out was unbelievable. They told me to come into the branch to verify the infoirmation they alreay have on file. The guy also does not know how to speak to a customer. I just re-fied my loan (that departmetnt was outstanding) yet is it worth it on the bank side? Get this I called their Corporate Office number, the line hung up three times, when I tried a fourth, the person on the other line did not answer Bank of the West, they answered: Stop hanging up on me, this is rude. Yes it was Bank of the West that I called.
If you are not obligated to use their services, do not bank here. One hand does not talk to the other, no resolution. So I am stuck , let's see when I can get the time to wait 55 minutes on the phone for password issues on my computer only, If I access on my phone via the phone app all good. And misinformation on my account was listed as far as the routing number so I had to reoder checks
Desired outcome: I can't fix a corporation. What a mess!
Customer service
I tried to log into my online account. Instead of access to my account. I was given a number to call. I was then given another number to call. No one could tell me why my account was being closed. I was scheduled to teach a CPR class, my daughter and I was scheduled to shop for her prom dress and the biggest thing was my tax refund was scheduled to be directly deposited into that account in less than a week. I shared this with them and they did not care. I never been treated so poorly. I needed access to my account to pay for these things. My refund was held up because of this. My family suffered deeply.
And now months later, my loan was deposited into this account. Its also being held up because I had this account when I first applied for a loan.
-I need help. is the worst and they are prejudice against blacks. I feel that I have been discriminated against.
Desired outcome: I want to be compensated for my suffering as well as an apology
overdraft fees
On 2/2/2022 I checked my account and it showed that there are several electronic transactions that being processed. I made a deposit at 7 pm to cover item that may post the day after. Today, 2/3/2022, I was surprised to know that bank of the west charged me 4-$35 fees for the electronic items that were being processed. I called and they told me that a, electronic check was posted to the account and thus it was processed before the electronic debit. I asked why the check was not cleared as soon as it was posted and bank of the west waited till I had the electronic charges, they told me checks do not appear on customers account. This is misleading to customers and an excessive charge of fees. Some of the electronic charges were less than $20

I have had this same thing happen to me in Lee Summit. I was told they would fix things they messed up on just to have to call them and remind them in order to get things fixed. Then after it was fixed another mistake would occur but then it was my fault no matter what and The last draw was when I had deposit post no negative balance there r several $35 fees but on banks end the deposit posted after pending transactions and caused several $35 fees making me negative too much money. Still posted on same day on there end too but they could not fix it and now they say I owe over $500. I have had this account over 2 yrs and now I quit because of this bs.
The IRS did a trace and they sent Bank of the West my third Stimulus payment and Bank of the West lied to me saying they did not receive it.
On March 17, 2021 the IRS deposited a Bank of the West Payment into my account. When I tried to access my account information Bank of the West said they closed my account and that they received nothing from the IRS. This caused me to contact the IRS so that they could perform a Trace. The performed a payment Trace and it turns out that the IRS did in fact deposit my payment. I keep calling Bank of the West and they are telling me nothing saying my account is purged. I want to take them to court to recover my funds.
Desired outcome: Send me my third stimulus payment of $ 2,800
I have been waiting since March 2021 to receive my third stimulus payment. Everytime I call the Branch or Bank of the West they say they can't help me and my acct is now purged.
Loan
I purchased my RV using BOTW on January 6, 2021. I have done everything asked of me and still don't have a title or tag for the vehicle and it has been almost a full year. I have called and called and emailed and faxed documents still nothing. I have even had an NC DMV officer come out to see the RV and check the VIN as they thought that was part of the issue. That was over 3 months ago. I am tired of calling which I have done now over 25 times. I want my tag and vehicle titled so, I am complaining, can get it inspected and pay the taxes. Every time I call they assure me it will be good soon and to expect it in the mail. That started in March 2021. I just want some answers as to why I am having to do all the work and why I had to pay BOTW anything for this service which they are not following through on their end to complete.
Desired outcome: Tag and some compensation for all the time I have had to spend fixing their mistake.
Cash back bank card
IMPOSSIBLE TO GET CASH BACK AT $25, ARDUOUS AT BEST and they don't honor the category promised at the 3% level of reimbursement...also getting the cash back is a joke it's has to be ordered via outside vendor...BEWARE OF THIS BANK CARD they do not honor the 3% cash back on groceries even though I've brought this to their attention twice...customer service is USELESS AND APPEARS THEY COULD CARE LESS
Customer Service/Online Banking
We recently opened a checking, savings and HELOC account with Bank Of The West. Apparently, I did not answer a question correctly so they were unable to set up online banking for me. It was escalated, I received an email stating that they could not complete the request at this time and to call the 800 number, 2 days and several hours on hold, I still have not been able to talk to a service representative to resolve this. If this is how the service is going to be, I will hold off on moving my banking relationship over. Not a good start.

Local branch closing early on a Friday
I am moving and needed cash in order to move in. The Branch closed at 4 and there's still people inside when the door says 5. This has made a difficult situation harder and makes me question why I keep this account after so long of having this account and doing business with this company. It was 410 now it's 418 and there's still people being helped inside. This may hinder my ability to move. This is the galleria branch in Roseville

Car loan payment history
I financed a car in November 2017 and paid off the car May 2019. My car has recently been determined to be a lemon and Ford has agreed to repurchase the car for all the money I put into it including interest on the car loan. I contacted Bank Of The West to request the payment and interest history. They said it would take 10 days for me to receive it. It's been 10 days and this deal has been ready to happen and has been put on hold waiting for the payment history to arrive. I called over to Bank Of The West today to find out if they sent it. After waiting on hold aprox 35 minutes, I was told my request was never processed or sent. Now I have to start all over. This time I gave them a fax number to fax instead of mail. They said it could still be 48 hours to process. Since its Thursday today, 48 hours actually means Monday. Frusterating! Why is it so hard to get this information? The hold times are outrageous. You need half a day to take care of buisness with this company.

Agree 100% ridiculous and should be shut down by the government until they get it together. Not asking for 100% perfect but, the same thing has happened to me with similar parameters.

I opened my account upon retirement because your rep said I could access my account from anywhere. Evidently that was not true, since I've tried to transfer money to my daughters bank acct my profile has been placed on hold. If you can't do what you say I will look for a bank that can. I have retired to Thailand and cannot access my $20, 000 in your bank.

Bonus for opening checking and savings account
I have opened a checking and savings account with Bank of the West on July 21, but could not fund it online, given that the credit union I wanted to transfer funds from was not among the available banks, and from one of the banks that were available, and where I did have funds, trasnfers were not possible at that precise moment. I was told that the application is being considered and that I will be contacted should additional information be required.I was not provided with a checking or savings account number. Five days later, I was asked to upload a copy of my DL. Did that. On Friday, July 30th at 3pm (but I got to read it after 5pm), I received an e-mail letting me know that my account is open, and that, in order to get the $500 bonus for the checking account and the $100 bonus for the savings accounts, they will have to be funded by the end of the month (which meant, that very day). I tried to do just that, online, yet my credit union account, which was verified for the credit card issued by the same Bank of the West, did not show up as a bank from which funds could be transferred. So, I needed to add it and verify it. The instantaneous verification of the credit union account did not work, so I needed to verify it by way of the two small deposits. Did that on Monday, and then tried to fund the two accounts. However, after initiating the first transfer, a screen with three questions showed up, I answered the three questions correctly, yet was told that my transfer was cancelled and the account frozen, and that I need to call a number to unfreeze it. After calling that number and spending 3.5 hours, I was told that, after checking all the personal info, SS#, address, telephone, DL number, that, in fact, removing the block was possible only by visiting a branch. Which I did, today, August 2, to be told that, since the account was not funded by the end of July (although it had been open only since 3pm on July 30, a Friday), I would not receive the bonus if I funded them on August 2, and that nobody could do anything about that (branch manager included).
The whole experience was supposed to last for 10 minutes, as the letter that I had received inviting me personally to open those accounts had mentioned.
I think something is fundamentally wrog woth the bank, as waiting times for their customer service, as the inability to do anything online, and as the absurdity of conditions for bonus are concerned, for the complete disregard of the actual day the account was opened in the bonus rules.
I asked for both accounts to be closed, unfunded.

Loan
I paid of my boat loan off on june 3, 2021, I have been trying to get a hold of customer service through their phone number for several days to find out when I can get my title from them. I have been on hold each time for over an hour, never got anyone to pick up the phone.
I would like to email them to ask them where is my title, but they don't have an email.
This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered, even their online chat is unavailable. Very poor customer service!
Desired outcome: Just want someone to tell me when I can get my boat title!
Closure of account and asking for repayment on a provisional credit
I received a letter from Bank of the West dated 05/13/2021 where it states that my account was closed on 02/08/2021 and are asking for a repayment of a provisional credit that was applied to my account prior to it being closed. In the letter I am also threatened by stating that I have 10 days to repay or they're going to report the closure to consumer report agencies.
Desired outcome: Delete provisional credit repayment because I'm not going to pay what I don't have any documentation on stating this credit.

The bank put all the business accounts to this TreasuryNow from Webdirect and charged me the fees even most of them were close several years ago. The reason was the branch did not informed the department of Treasury Solutions, Corporate & Commercial Banking. I had not got any email or call to ask if I would like to accept to use new platform before I found the account was charged. These charges named 'Cash Management CHG-NON-Analyed' happened on 12/21/2020 at $250, 1/20/2021 at $250, and 2/22/2021 at $285.
As the client, we can not control the internal process of the bank's. Can bank charge on the accounts which was closed?

Your teller Maria at your city of commerce branch was very rude and needs to learn some customer service skills. She failed to explain what was going on with my account. I figured this out after I left and called her back on the phone. She rudely explained to me what was going on. Very short and very non professional. I won't be coming back to this branch

March 2, 2021 received a letter from loss mitigation of in complete application which everything was sent that need to be sent. the letter we received was not even the right info account was wrong car was wrong. left several messages for a supervisor with no return calls for this matter. which we are trying to keep our ford f150 truck. been really trying to work with bank of the west would like some answers now as we are trying to keep this truck.

Charged fees for pos purchase but they waited until the end of the month: the fee caused my account to go into overdraft for the exact amount: then they charged another 35 dollars for overdraft fee. Shady and deceptive practice and very rude when I tried calling them. Closing my account tomorrow
