I actually love and enjoy my installed shower. However, I feel like I'm a slave to it. I was never told that I would have to squeegee it everytime the shower was used in order for my warranty to be valid. Some days I don't mind, but it is definitely a chore. Sometimes I am running late for work and don't want to take the time to do it. I think I should have been informed of this small detail when I went to the showroom, or when the salesman came to my home. NO - I wasn't told until it was completely installed. I was informed of this by the technician who installed it. I'm tired of having to clean my shower everyday! Anyone else feel this way? Maybe we can start a class action suit.

Yellow/green spots on ceiling
This not a complaint. I just need advise because the ceiling on my bathfitter is growing a greenish, yellowish film on the ceiling of my new bathfitter. I would like to know what would cause this, and how I can prevent it in the future. I need to know how to get rid of it without damaging the coating on the ceiling. Please respond asap. I don't want more of this subtance occuring.
thank you.

ITS DEPOSITS FROM MINERALS IN YOUR WATER. YOU CAN USE LIME AWAY OR CLR TO GET RID OF THEM. STOP IT? GET A WATER PURIFIER TO ATTACH TO SHOWERHEAD IT WILL FILTER OUT MINERALS.
Bathfitters had to reinstall our shower stall because of a defective part and it caused a ceiling leak. In between the original installation and the re-installation, we had the ceilings professionally sprayed and mold prevention done. After Bathfitters did their re-installation, we then developed the green spots on the ceiling, which we didn't have prior to this. Our contractor told us that Bathfitters was using an oil based product that was reacting to the ceiling material and causing it to break the seal, thereby allowing moisture to between the two and allow for mold to grow. This happened when Bathfitters scraped down the original ceiling to slide in the walls, then applied their sealant...but in our case they scraped too much and we were left with a 1" gap all around the walls that they tried to fill in...not too pretty and they tried to cover it up. Very disappointed especially after what you pay for it.
You should have used Bath Liners Direct.
Their SSP DuraGuard ceiling panels are Non-porous.
No mold or mildew will ever form. Guaranteed!
Bath Fitter does horrible installation, uses pressure tactics on seniors, lies about problems and the installer was very poorly trained .
Horrible work was done by Bath Fitters on my parents home. These are rip-off artists of the worst kind. My mom contracted Bath Fitter to install a tub and wall liner in their main bathroom for $3500. This is a high price for this amount of work. A Bath Fitter employee measured the area with a laser. The employee measuring assured my dad that the liner would "fit like a glove". When it came time to install, a number of weeks later, the installer (who told my dad that he had been working for the company for 4 weeks) took the existing lino off the wall and some of the plywood that was behind, replaced the faucet/shower controls and put drywall up, without the existing shims that had been installed behind the original plywood. This caused the drywall to be recessed in relation to the surrounding wall. In order to bring it back flush with the surrounding wall, he used 5/8" thick strips of soft putty spaced about 8" apart on top of the drywall, which was supposed to support the flexible plastic liner. There is no way soft putty will properly support the thin, flexible wall liner. Then, he said there was a problem with the tub, and needed to call his supervisor. The supervisor came on site and told my dad that the tub needed to come out 1/2" in order for them to install the liner. Maybe they would have caught that when they measured?!? According to the supervisor, this would require removal and replacement of the tub with a new one, for an extra 700-1000 dollars. He also said that the existing wall was too flexible. He said it was 1/4" plywood. My Dad said it was actually 3/8" plywood. After hearing that, the supervisor didn't say anything. He then said they would have to reschedule the work since the job scope had changed. He said he would call back at 8:30 the next morning. That was over a week ago. He also told my dad that he had two options, either pay them the extra money to finish the job, or cancel the work and they would leave the job as is. They are trying to pressure my parents into forking out more money for nothing.
Bath Fitter standing behind their product.
I am very happy to report that Bath Fitter is standing behind their product.
My parents and I met with Dale, who did a fabulous job of making time for us and listening to our serious concerns. He acknowledged that errors were made and that they will provide my parents with a new tub and install the wall liners at the initial price my parents agreed to. Dale was very professional and understanding about the situation my senior-aged parents were in.
The products should be installed within a couple of weeks, and I will update my report based on the outcome of the actual installation, but based on my experience with Dale, I am far more optimistic about a positive outcome.
Thanks Dale!
Bath fitters came to my house and ran my credit. I only could have 3000 dollars credit. The shower would cost 6000. To much money i think. But i told them i would be getting a reverse mortgage and would have to wait for the money. The guy that came got so mad he said i waisted his time. I don't think he could understand about the reverse mortgage. He didn't know what it was. Anyway i never heard back from them. But i really think a dodged a bullet.
My ordeal started 7/23/16 with Bath Enhancements Valparaiso, Indiana. It took 30 days to set up installation with Michael from the store. The very next day the installer called me to set my day back. First day he came out spent 3 hrs before saying he didn't have all the matls. would come back the next day. When he did come back cracked the tub liner as he was installing it. Was told could not take a bath only a shower. Did not put on new
shower head or shower rod which I had purchased. So every time my daughter went to take a shower had to put up the old tension shower rod as it would not stay up with the new walls. She wacked her forehead causing a cut and bump. Now the day is 8/20/16...it took numerous calls to the store to get updates. They (Michael, Brett) would keep playing it off stating that the new one was ordered as a priority but that was just a LIE. IT TOOK 25 DAYS BEFORE THEY CAME BACK OUT AND WHEN HE DID--- THE JOB WAS DONE SLOPPY. I HAVE CAULK ALL OVER THE TUB, DOWN THE TUB ALONG THE BASE OF THE TUB. I SPENT $3, 941.00. They are a company that does not care about the customer but just the almighty dollar they make off of us. BEWARE OF BATH ENHANCEMENTS VALPARAAISO INDIANA
Just to let everyone know, we signed a contract with Bath Fitter on July 16. They required one third deposit, which was nearly $1900. Now it is September 5th and they still haven't set an installation date. I called my service rep 4 days ago to let him know and he called back within an hour, and said someone would be calling me by the end of the day. No one ever called. At this point, my advice would be not to do business with a company that might make you wait until Christmas or until Armageddon for your shower to be installed. My wife is really impatient and is already calling other contractors, which would necessitate legal action to get a refund of the deposit. I will update this review if they ever decide to call.

I have had Bath Fitter remodel a number of bathrooms over the past 12 years and I have had nothing but great results. The product performs extremely well and the sales rep and installer were very professional and courteous. I recommend Bath Fitter to all who appreciate quality and performance over price.
Avoid tub liners
I just had my tub/surround replaced by a real, old-fashioned local plumber. He used a real tub, Americast, and swanstone surrond: (It's 1/4 corian. solid as a rock).
I love it.
I priced 3 liner companies and they came out either very close in price or alot more. I was stunned.
The sales pitch is astounding, and all 3 told me how bad the other 2 were. I decided to believe all 3 of them and get a regular replacement and I'm glad I did.
My plumber makes alot of money tearing out the cheap liners. They bubble and crack and leak. Don't do it.
The only drawback is that it does take 3 days to replace with real materials. But there's no guarantee that a liner company will actually do it in one day, anyway.
Think of it this way: By the time you discover they can't do it in one day, what are you going to do about it? They've already torn apart your old tub and it's unusable. So, are you going to take them to court?
Skip the liners and get a real americast tub and swanstone surround.
We've been enjoying our new tub from Bath Fitter for four years. Love, love, love it ! The local plumber they used to move the toilet and sink and demo the old DIY shower was super. It was a complete bathroom remodel, so it took 4 days. The thick, sturdy, easily cleaned tub and surround look great. I know they will stand by their lifetime warranty. We knew about Bath Fitter because years earlier they had added a spectacular primary bath to a house my realtor husband was listing for sale. The house sold in one day.
I have replaced two refitted baths and a full bath/shower enclosure, all for the same reason.
Bath liners cracked and leaked, one tub within one month!
All of the homeowners were told that there is movement in the existing fixture(s) that caused the cracking. NOT warranteed for that reason!
Not to mention extensive damages to kitchen ceiling.
BATHROOMS TAKE ABOUT A WEEK TO REMODEL AND REQUIRE PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS THAT CAN DELAY THINGS EVEN LONGER. IF YOU DID IT IN 3 DAYS YOU DID IT WITHOUT PERMITS AND WILL HAVE TO PRODUCE THEM WHEN YOU SELL...GOOD LUCK. TILE AND GROUT LEAKS THERE IS NO WAY AROUNF=D THAT...TILE IS POROUS. SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE A YEAR FROM NOW. GOOD LUCK.
BATHFITTER IS A FRANCHISE, CALL CORPORATE IN CANADA OR EMAIL THEM YOU'RE NOT TELLING PART OF THE STORY, AS PART OF FRANCHISE AGREEMENT THEY MUST SERVICE YOU. SOMETHING YOU ARE SAYING ISN'T TRUE...THE ONLY REASON THEY WON'T HONOR WARRANTY IS IF YOU OWE THEM MONEY...DID YOU PAY THE BALANCE?PROBALLY NOT!
I wish I would have read your complaint before we had Bath Fitters come in. We now have an unuseable shower and will end up in court because Bathfitters will not honor the warranty! D. Cape Coral, Fl.
We have had our bathfitters for over 4 years. I love it! Super easy to keep clean compared to regular tub and tile. No problems so far. Have recommended it to friends, one has also had hers redone and been pleased with the results. We both had them done in 1 day. We live in the Denver area, I wonder if the climate has anything to do with the sucess of their product.
Our mistake
We bought the tub liner from bath fitter 4 months ago, and this is the second time they will be coming for a service call due to the huge bubble of water between their liner and the original tub. This liner was not cheap! We should just have bought another tub but the acrylic looked so nice and we thought it would be easier than removing and replacing the old tub. Big mistake. Now we have to chip out the new tile and start all over. It will cost us double because we went with bath fitter. Just get yourself a new tub and do it right the first time.

Am on a similar boat. No leaks yet but two liners due to lack of tech craft. Sloppy jobs. Since tuesday that i am trying to get a tech to check out the damage. no one has showed up. the rep at the bf office won't return my calls or emails. i started formal complains all over the internet. need to find the specific office at NYState to make a complaint there. I cannot replace the tub, this was a great solution and the prior owner had one installed but screwed it up by cutting around the drain instead of calling BF.
I totally agree.we called bath fitter to address a leak problem in floor. Their solution was putting a bath fitter liner over the tile floor sealing up any leak.. The first floor they put down pooled to the wall - exactly where the leak was. They came back in and instead of pulling up floor insisted on putting another one on top of that and pitching it so water would move to drain. That seemed to work but the second floor developed spider cracks around drain, So we called them back.. Again, they insisted on putting yet another floor on top on that one, which I was not in agreement with. But service man did not want to pull up two floors. So we have 3 bath fitter floors which they seemed to think would guarantee no more leaks. Well fast forward 3 years and what do we have. For about one year I have been smelling a funky smell in my bathroom which I could not figure out what it was. Then all of a sudden I see my hardwood floor in my bedroom rotted and black near the shower wall ( bed room side). We have a water leak all over again coming from the same spot they claimed would be taken care of by putting down their Bath fitter.
I am having work done now as I write this.. The bottom line is .. Bath fitter is not the solution . It cost us $2500 to have them put down a bath fitter floor lay over my tile. As the plumber is pulling up the 3 bath fitter floors there is water and mold is under their floor and is the smell that has been in the bathroom. Water has been laying under the floor that they put over the tiles. Do not use Bath Fitter..
They tried to force me to sign a contract
I recently has someone from Bathfitter come out to give me an estimate on my bathroom. They stayed at my house for 3 and a half hours and would not leave. They kept pressuring me to sign a contract that night, explaining that if I did not, I would not receive the discounted price they were giving me, it would be more. I didn't even like the discounted price, let alone the price if I didn't sign that same night.
Also, they told me I would be sorry if I did not sign and then decided later to use them for my bathroom remodel. Even when I told them that I felt pressured and that they were the first person I spoke to, they still pressured on. I told them I would like to get other offers and their whole demeanour changed.

I was told it would take 3 weeks for the liner to be made and delivered. Its been 6 weeks now and I have not heard from the company. They have not responded to my email since it is difficult for me to call from work.
They did get some money up front.
Hi Robert, this does not sound like the experience we strive for and we'd like the opportunity to make it right. Would you be able to provide us with your full name and zip code so that we may locate you in our systems? Thank you.
Thank you, For saving me I just saw the adv. on tv and was going to see about getting an estimate, now I`m not I WILL NEVER use this company. I don`t want to have to pay some one for shoddy, half done work.
I AM VERY GLAD TO HAVE RAN ACROSS THIS INFORMATION! THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME!
This just happened to me as well! This same day discount is a SCAM. I even had a special coupon that offered me the same special the salesperson was peddling. I asked if I could use my coupon and the same day discount and he said NO. One or the other. I then said what is the difference between the same day discount and the coupon... he was silent. There was no answer to be found other than it is a sales tactic.
I was going to have Bath Fitter remodel my bathroom... they have done a bathroom for a co-worker of mine... But she told me they tried this same high-pressure tactic on her. I will not be manipulated. I was going to have the same general work done as my co-worker... our bathrooms are virtually identical as we live down the street from each other and the homes were built at the same time and have the same layout... Guess what? My price was $600 more!
All they have done is raise their prices by the SAME amount they are offering to discount ... SHAME ON YOU BATH FITTER.
Pass this along to your friends everyone! Let everyone know about this classless sales tactic .
IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO SIGN...DON'T. POLITELY ASK THEM TO LEAVE AND IF THEY DON'T INFORM THEM YOU WILL CALL THE POLICE TO REMOVE THEM. IT'S YOUR HOUSE, YOU MUST HAVE BEEN GIVING THEM HALF-HEARTED ANSWERS MAKING THEM THINK YOU WERE INTERESTED. IF PEOPLE WOULD JUST STATE THEIR TRUE INTENTIONS INSTEAD OF SAYING THEY'LL THINK ABOUT IT NONE OF IT WOULD HAPPEN. BE A MAN AND TELL THEM YOU AREN'T INTERESTED! DUH!
My husband and I just went through the same ordeal. Only our sales rep made it sound like he was in a huge hurry, and that the longer we took to decide, the longer it would take him to get home to his wife...whom had called twice. According to him, he had been working for the company for years and years. So his wife wouldn't be used to him being out till 10:00 at night?...because that's how late he was here. My husband asked him specific questions...and while searching the contract over trying to find the answer to it...the sales rep would take the contract and find the answer and read it right off the contract...but didn't read us all of it. For example, If we happened to miss making a payment what would the interest % go up to?...he read off "1 and 1/2 %, but I'm not sure what the percentage rate would go up to". Now that's not exactly a lie, but what he didn't tell us was that the contract stated that it would go up to the "highest legal limit" allowed. That could be 30% +! I guess WHY my husband was asking this question was just in case he lost his job...we'd lose 2/3rd's of our income...it just happened to my husband's brother. Also the sales rep did not inform us that if we defaulted on any other financial obligation, even though staying current with our payments to Bath fitters, our interest rates could very well be raised. This is #9 & 10 on the back of the Retail Installment Contract. While you're at it, read #'s 12 & 13 too. These are also things he did not go over with us..nor did he give us the time to read it ourselves. The Bath fitter Agreement contract states near bottom of the contract (just above where you sign) "There are no promises, terms, conditions, or obligations other than those contained in this Agreement: and this agreement supersedes all previous communications, representations, or agreements, either verbal or written, between parties, that no other agreement or representation, verbal or written, shall be binding on the Contractor." Talk about a CYA! IN OTHER WORDS, THEY CAN LIE TO US AND WE CAN'T DO A THING ABOUT IT. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO TRUST THESE PEOPLE TO BE HONEST WITH US... WHEN WE HAVE IT IN WRITING THAT THEY CAN SAY ANYTHING TO GET US TO SIGN THE CONTRACT, BUT ONCE WE SIGN IT...WE CANNOT HOLD THEM TO A WORD OF IT. My advice to everyone out there...tell them that you would like to read ALL of the contract (front & back), and if they tell you that they've already explained everything to you that is on the contract...no they haven't. Ask him to leave it with you (which he won't)...so you can read it over, it's your right. If he refuses to leave it (which he will), then, either, don't sign it, or he'll wait for you to read it...if he wants the sale bad enough. We were told that if we did not sign the contract that evening then we would not be able to receive the discount at a later date...and we believed him! We shouldn't be rushed or pushed or bullied into signing anything that we haven't read and UNDERSTOOD in full. Do not allow them to point out the important parts to you..."all the rest is just standard contract stuff"...because ALL of it is important...and they, after all, are salesmen...they will tell you what they WANT you to know...not what you NEED to know. He also explained to us that there are no bad marks with the better business bureau about the company, but we didn't know, at that time, about this web sight. There's also the consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/bath_fitters web sight that was brought to our attention. I was just informed that this contract is a credit card application...because it is an unsecured loan, they get the amount approved by state law as being a credit card loan. We were not told this! My husband and I don't deal with credit cards...we stay as far away from them as possible due to their very well known high interest penalties and late fees and over the limit fees...etc. So all of this financing works like a credit card would. WOW! Nowhere on the application did it specify in writing that this is a credit card appl. Well I've learned my "something new" today. Hopefully we can get out of this without much damage. Wish us luck.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN IT EVERYDAY TO HAVE A WARRANTY. HONESTLY, I DON'T KNOW WHERE PEOPLE COME UP WITH THIS STUFF. PEOPLE CAN POST ANY CRAZY THING THEY WANT ON THESE SITES AND MOST ARE UNTRUE. REGULAR CLEANING IS NECESSARY JUST LIKE WITH TILE BUT NOT EVERYDAY...COME ON DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT OR ARE YOU TRYING TO POST SOMETHING FOR A REACTION.
The funny thing is, the salesman that comes to your house tells you all the dangers of mold and how easily it forms when you use "the other guys product"...If I squeegeed all the water off of my $100 lowe's surround every time I took a shower, it would offer the same lifespan and durability as bathfitter at about 3% of the cost. Instead of spending thousands on bathfitter, I would rather let the water go where it may and replace the liner in about 10 years...This seems much easier than going through the motions of a professional window washer every day. :P
