On May 25, 2024 the sales representative from Bath Fitter came to our home. We told him what we were looking for (remove the tub and convert to a walk-in shower). He measured everything and we looked at the different patterns and accessories and we picked out what we liked. He told us that the doors were going to be expensive because they were going to be bigger than average, we agreed to that. He virtually designed it on his laptop and we agreed, it was perfect. He verbally told us the cost and we agreed. It was financed with Wells Fargo.

On June 13, 2024 the installer arrived at 8am to start on the shower, it was a 2 day install. He worked until 6pm on Thursday and returned Friday morning at 8am, he stayed the entire day, until 12:30am. This was very inconvenient to us, my mother in law lives with us and she suffers with severe dementia, every time he would go in and out of the house, the dogs would bark and wake her up, we were unable to use our bathroom and we could not go to bed, he was in the master bathroom. When he finished with the shower, he told us to come look at it, that is when we realized that the design was not what we had ordered. He was aware and told us that the owner had changed the design to save money. Instead of installing doors, they made the shower smaller and put up a glass petition, it did not even cover to the point where the water hit. As a result the bathroom floor, into the closet the sheetrock and molding on the wall facing the shower were soaked. The installer told us that he did not like this design and did not feel that it was going to work, he said that he hated to install it. The shower floor had a crack in it and the glass petition moved with very little effort.

On June 17, 2024 I called and told them how unhappy I was. They sent the owner/manager to my home on June 26, 2024. He never called or sent a text, I had to leave work to meet him. He was very rude from the moment he stepped in my driveway. He treated me like I was beneath him and had no clue about anything. I told him that I was not happy with his design and I wanted the doors that we had ordered. He then told me that if I wanted doors, I could buy them and pay someone to install them, they could not get doors that large. I told him the measurements of the shower and he said I was wrong. He measured himself and saw that I was correct. That is when he grabbed his phone and ordered some doors from Amazon, he told me the ones I liked were ugly and would not go with my bathroom. He continued his disrespectful demeanor and had the audacity to tell me to refer all my friends and family to Bath Fitter. I advised him that he did not have to worry about that.

On July 18, 2024 the installer returned to install the new floor and put in the doors. He arrived at 830am, for another 2 day install. The problem now is that the new shower floor was installed over the cracked one and now it does not drain properly, it holds water. The glass petition was removed and the holes were filled in with caulk, it looks awful. The doors have stopped most of the water on the floor, but it still gets wet. The doors are far from straight. It is very tacky. I have disputed the charges with Wells Fargo. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Bath Fitter is wanting to come to my home Monday to install a new wall, the entire thing has to be redone, they are not welcome in my home unless that is what the plan is. I cannot pay $12k+ for something that I will not let anyone see.

Desired outcome: We will fix this ourselves, I do not want to be charged for this disaster. I do not want them back in our home. The installer and rep were awesome, the owner is the problem. He ruined the whole experience.
