I have had access to my direct-deposited funds on the same day, but the online banking is a big problem. It is true that you cannot know your actual balance online, particularly if you use the debit card. It seems the balance only reflects a nominal portion or maybe a percentage of the actual amount debited and it won't post the full amount or where it went to until 2-3 days later. So those funds look online like they're available to you, but you'll get burned with fees later when you find out that the balance is entirely inaccurate.

I deposited a payroll check from a second job, as well as a state tax refund check on Wednesday morning and it wasn't credited until Thursday. And here's the fun part, which I'm battling with them on at the moment:

At my full-time job I have direct deposit, am always paid on Fridays, and I use their online bill pay set up to have all my bills come out on payday Fridays. I discovered this morning that they changed my payment date on all my currently due bills to THURSDAY. I didn't tell them to do that. They didn't send me an email to let me know anything about why I might need to check my payment dates and make changes. They just changed it. So, of course now I am hit with nasty overdraft fees because they paid my bills out of my account on Thursday but of course my payday didn't change, I still got paid on Friday.

This is theft, and I told them so.

I am done with BB&T. They will flat ruin you. They don't credit your deposits until after they pull your debits, so this is another way they get rich off of responsible, hardworking people who think that once they make their deposit that they should have access to their money (in this day and age, when they can make automatic deductions the second you write a check, there is no excuse for there not to be). It's just wrong.

the worst bank in history. Opened the account, it took five times to get a debit card. In the meantime, numerous errors and numerous fees. They ultimately robbed me of $210 for issues beyond my control. I have yet to receive the credit card opened in July 2015! She had the nerve to ask me today if I wanted her to order one. Really! 8 times to order a credit card, 5 times to order a debit card. Your service is beyond terrible!

I am also a victim of BBT false practices and need to know how to get my money back. I work too hard as all of you for each penny just for a company to try and swipe as much as possible? Who has information for what to do next?

We have been working overseas and our pay has been deposited into a foreign account, therefore our business account went into a dormant status without notifying us. Since we assumed we still had access to our money, this December we transferred 13K from our other BBT account to this supposed dormant account and wrote a check from it for the IRS as not to get penalties for underpayment. We found out that the check to the IRS was denied. We have looked at the BBT Commercial bank agreement and it does not cover this. My Question is if the definition of a dormant account is one without a transaction, the transfer was indeed an allowed transaction. I was told that it was a withdrawal that was needed by the branch, but deposits were accepted. Furthermore in talking with the bank employees "complaint department" and branch both said that we would have to go in to branch to change this and get our account restored and the check to the IRS resent. We are overseas and unable to do so and now we are without the funds in our other account to pay the IRS. I think this is illegal any thoughts or lawyers out there that would provide us information?

Hi Cheryl, we are overseas too. Sold our home and trying to get funds out of BB&T is almost impossible from overseas. How do you get funds from them other than the use of a debit card? Did you try depositing a personal check in your foreign bank account? We think this is our only option. Thanks, Kris

I got a car loan through Susquehanna bank and had the payments automatically deducted from my Susquehanna bank account. Never had an issue. Bb&t bought susquehanna out so everything transferred to them. I continued making my payments but one fateful day, I wrecked and totaled the car, only 6 months before paying it off. I had full coverage and my insurance company sent them the check to pay the loan off. 3 weeks later, I noticed that Bb&t had taken another payment out of my bank account. I quickly contacted customer support and was led on a wild goose chase. Later that day I received a call from someone at Bb&t saying they just found the check and would be sending me a check by mail to refund the payment taken out when it shouldn't have. This was over a year ago and at least 15 hours on the phone with different people through Bb&t. I never received the near $500 and know I never will. I also notice that if I dropped my account low enough, got paid, then used some money, they would delay the time my paycheck would go into my account and hit me with overdraft fees even though my paycheck was sent a day or two before the purchase made that caused "an over draft fee" bbt owes me and I would love to see that wretched place burn for their unlawful bunisiness practices.

BB&T charged me from 2 different accounts for 3 separate transactions even though my debit card was linked to 1 account. They overdrafted one account even though my card was no longer linked to it and did not charge the account the card was linked to even though there was money in that account. They are a bunch of crooks who try to find dishonest ways to overdraft people. I need to find information about any class-action lawsuit against BB&T.

I had $850 deposited into my account 12 days ago. I have spent $524 in those 12 days. But now I'm overdrawn $25. Where is the other $300? Good question, since it's not showing as spent on my account. Nor are there any other transactions showing... just gone.

I had fraud on my account and I have to wait 9 business days for it to be credited back on to my account. Thanks to BB&T they let this fraudulent scam go on for 15 transactions before doing anything.I have bills to pay and it's a very bad time for any of this. Please do not bank with them. I only have a money card for my direct deposit because at the time I had a different bank and my direct deposit was taking to long. Now I'm sitting here waiting and having to pay extra fees on bills. Thanks BB&T

I currently work for BB&T and I can tell you it is no better on this side of the fence. I work in a support role at an ops center and believe me when I tell you that working for them is no picnic. They say save money, save money, cut cost but then the CEO gets a 5 million dollar raise. who suffers, the associates in the trenches. My last 2 reviews were a travesty. One indicated that I was not working and that It seemed that I was slacking off. I told them about a medical problem before this that involved an enlarged Prostate and that was the reason. They couldn't come out and right I was taking bathroom breaks but they got around that by being creative. The next review said something about poor hygiene. There again I found out it was because of a cough that I had due to an allergy that I was born with. In both instances, BB&T stated that I needed to submit my medical records but then I found out that I didn't have to do that but a specialists had to fill out some forms which would have indicated that I would be out long term which I was not going to be. All I wanted was for my reviews to be changed but to date that has not happened. Not even an apology.

I have had the same issues. I have even seen where my deposit was made on my bbt app on my phone, spent the money, and gotten a fee. When I checked the app again the deposit somehow appears after the charges. They have gotten thousands from me this way, but I kept my account because I have had it for over 5 years. So many other issues, including them not giving me back overdraft charges that I received after having money wrongfully drafted from my account. The fraud department gave me back the money from the other company, but wouldn't give me back overdrafts occurred from the indecent. The fraud department is impossible to reach and everyone, including the branch managers, says they cant do anything about issues and they pass the buck to the next person who says they have no control of the issue. Does anyone know of a lawsuit being formed against them?

if any one is successful in a lawsuit with BBT please add me to it. I paid them to stop payment on a check and they did not do that, the check was to my landlord and he bragged how it was good to have friends in high places so the teller honored it anyway. Also when they first took the money I surely called spoke to many people and lo and behold I got a personal call from the actual teller who cashed it. She apologized over and over to me about it and told me the money would be put back stat. I am on low fixed income so them taking the 450.00 out would have been completely and totally devastating and I have 2 kids to raise on what I get only once a month. They did put the money back and I was so relived. I turned around couple days later they had took it again, then they would not ever again let me speak to the teller who had called me. I could tell by the time I called them back the second time, every employee, supervisor, manager, even the chief executive was all on the same page. I even sent in a very long letter and print offs of it all to the CEO and they too told me they did nothing wrong or illegal. Now the [censor] are trying to put a judgement on my credit file of over 700.00 which is the check and fees etc. they claim they had paid some other stuff too for me. I have worked for years to clean up my credit file and finally got every bad mark off but one and its coming off next year. Only to have this bank add that one will put me and all my hard work on my credit right back at square one. Anyone who knows how hard it is to get your credit straight will relate to just how damn mad I am right now. However I can not afford a lawyer much less one of the caliber needed to go up against such a mega super size bank such as BBT. I will surely lose because I am a nobody and I think BBT knows that. 2-Years (2016 & 2017) documentation of BB&T's unethical practices mirrored against actual date/time stamped transactional activities, clearly reflects deliberate system reorder of debit/credit postings, causing multiple checking accounts into forced collected overdraft charges at a very costly individual, and small business consumer expense and delighted to disclose collected evidence with aggressive legal team to pursue and support class action lawsuit! WE ARE CLEARLY ADVOCATING BB&T'S ILLEGAL PRACTICE FOR PROFITS IS DEPLORABLE, UNACCEPTABLE & MUST BE STOPPED - Petitioning BB&T customers to stake actionable claim!

I am fed up with this bank, my payroll check is direct deposit, i knew i had an overdraft fee that was coming out of my check on 1/19/2018, it was something i could not help, my deposit was $1559 and my overdraft was $661 balance left $898, i had emailed them and asked them to look back at my account because on 1/23/2018 i recieved an email stating i was -$343, i never made any big purchases from the 19th til the 23rd. The lady responded after your deposit and overdraft was paid your balance was $514, how is that possible!? I told them to go back and redo their math because they are wrong, im waiting for their response, add me to the lawsuit, im tired of how this bank treat their customers, they refunded $36 bringing the account to-$307 only for the next day the balance was back to -343, it makes no sense how they process debits, your balance reflected is never what is posted on the app, they need to be brought to justice ASAP

In 3 wks, they held our deposits...right on down to my husbands Retirement check..Their reason was company rules.I am disabled and hubby is retired.We has little so they moved us down to nothing! This bank kept charging us NSF funds when the money was sitting right there! We even borrowed money to get us straight with them.They held the deposit and kept on with their OD Fees! We are not rich.BB&T took any chance of food right out of our mouths! I want justice!

I am soooo frustrated with bb&t they robbed me of some of my refund when the banks went down I'm soo sick of them I'm trying to get them to clear it up but they are in denial I have sine kept my account open to resolve it but have gotten a second bank account... I'm suing them Please count me in for the class action law suit

BB&T are a bunch of crooks. They said I was behind on my loan according to my online statement I was right on track. Just yesterday they took 2800 from my checking and 1200 from my son's savings account and left us with nothing in either account they put it all on the principle on the loan that I only owed and never knew about 1000.00. I would have paid the 1000 but they said no they just took all of our money so now my bills are coming out and I'm getting overdrafts how does a bank get away with taking all my money and leaving me with nothing. Single dad and a veteran and don't even have money for gas or food right now because of these crooks

Is anyone suing. I am am a small business and have my business account at bbnt . They do not represent the customer they represent whatever seems to be best for their bottom line. Not sure how much damage they have done but it seems crystal clear that they have no concern for anything other than practices that incur fees they can collect. How about BBT taking your mortgage payments and not applying them even when you write the acct # on the check! Then they turn around and say you haven't made payments to them? What a load of Bull! They are cashing our checks! We just got a certified letter...again for the 3rd time in a year and a half...saying pay this amount by this date or be foreclosed on! First time it was $2800, the next was $5200, and this time its $9000! how do they expect us to keep paying when they have drained all of our money...We are not the only ones! 5 of my neighbors and my parents are going thru the same thing...We cant refi either because now they changed our credit report and it shows we havent made a payment in 3 years! WTH?...why is there no Lawsuits? where are the attorneys that fight for the people?

I made a deposit with two checks on a Monday in the night deposit box, One check was for 6675.00 from Bank of America and one was for $667.00 from my Sisters BB&T account, well the bank made the deposit on Tuesday morning, it doesn't show up on my online banking and I had to call the bank, she said it doesn't show up because the deposit is on hold for 10 days. I said how can that be, one is from another BB&T account it should clear right away, she said no because they are on the same deposit slip, I argued with her and then she made the funds from the BB&T account available the next day, $4800.00 of the 6675.00 available in 3 days and a hold on the balance $1675.00 for 10 business days. Well my Sister check for the $6675.00 cleared her B of A account and they still put a hold on the money, My balance showed I had 458.00 in my checking and the next day it showed over draft fees for 2 items, I was so angry I called them and they would no refund my money, I had the over draft protection on my account when I signed up for it and they say I didn't have it. I went to the bank in person on my lunch hour and the bank manager released the funds early because it already cleared a week ago from the B of A account but they would not refund me the over draft fees that was $72.00 of my hard earned money, Very disappointed in the bank. They held my money and then charged me money Shame on them! I had 7000.00 in my savings thought I had the overdraft I know I signed up for it. Crooks!

I deposited cash in my account on September 12th around 11pm to cover a charge that had not come out yet. The ATM message does not specify that cash will not be processed immediately. It has a very general statement about deposits in general even though cash should be treated as immediate credit. They charged me an overdraft fee on the 13th because the cash wasn’t deposited before 6pm. Cash doesn’t need to be processed and should be made available immediately. I checked my account on the 13th and the said transaction I was attempting to cover with my cash deposit has the date of the 12th on it even thought it did not clear my account on the 12th. This is the 3rd time they have done this to me. The first 2 times I was able to get those fees back but this 3rd time I was told I could not get it back because you are only allowed to get fees once every 2 years. I have been a customer with them since 2012 and to say I’m disappointed is a major understatement. I work in the financial industry and I know that their processing practices are unethical and rigged to charge customers fees.

I took criminal justice achieved a bachelor's degree I studied criminals these guys are good they are diabolical beyond belief they'll make money disappear from thin air they know when you get paid and wait to charge mysterious fees then barage you with overdraft fees.

BBTs policy states that they will PAY via the overdraft review policy (and charge you a fee) if the draft is using a routing and checking account or a check is presented. They reserve the right to deny if it is a debit transaction. Well they returned my mortgage payment that was paid using the routing account and checking account and caused a hit on my credit report AND held a business transaction for 1 day because a deposit had not posted and charged me a fee for holding the charge. They didn't pay it on the day it came in, held it and still charged me a fee? They are so excessive in the fees and charge $15 for an incoming wire when my husband is paid via wire- how is this any different then a direct deposit? These fees this year have added up to be close to $200.

I have never had an account with BB&T even though there is a branch within walking distance of my primary residence. I have avoided dealing with them because of the numerous complaints I've heard about their poor service from friends, neighbors and business associates over the years. However, I am now forced to deal with their Association Services Department as I own several units in a wonderful condominium community in Lehigh Acres, FL. Up until recently the association was managed by elected persons from within the community. However, because of the aging population and fewer residents willing to serve, we voted to turn the management over to a commercial management organization who uses BB&T to collect the maintenance fees. Never in the 30 years I have owned a unit in this community Have I experienced such a fiasco and difficulty in paying these fees. I tried unsuccessfully to resolve the problems at the local BB&T branch. All I got after waiting 30 minutes was a blank stare from the very inexperienced associate and a phone number to call. After doing some online research, I have discovered the problem is with the online processing software. I will call on Monday morning but I do not anticipate a satisfactory response. I hate to sell the units as I have catered to renting to Veterans as I serve on the board of directors of a nonprofit whose mission is to house Veterans experiencing homelessness. This has been a very frustrating, time-consuming experience that probably will not be resolved unless I travel to attend the next general meeting in Florida. The management company has suggested several times that I permit BB&T to automatically withdraw the fees from my credit union. They must think I am really stupid! I am beginning to wonder if they are in cahoots with them.

Sir i was received an international remittance on dated 21/12/19, Trx Id: [protected]. your cash manager makes a fraud in G.T road kamoke branch while he gives me cash which was less than actual amount. Actual amount was Rs.88368 and he paid Rs.80365. Aftarwards he denied to pay the actual amount.

On 07/18 I received an email that my renewed debit card was on the way to me as my current one expires 08/22. When I went to use my debit card on 07/20 it was declined as deactivated. When I called customer service to find out why they could not give me an answer. Fortunately I called my wife who came and paid.

State of Florida Treasure sent us a $9k check deposited on Saturday called Truist that Monday evening was told funds would be available the next day. When still not available they then said it would be another 8 days.

I have been with BB&T for 20 years.

I believe Truist is purposely delaying deposits in order to charge $36 overdraft fees. As of today 8/22/22, I have incurred $756 ...just this month in overdrafts!

Flat broke every single weekend and work like a dog because of their delay in deposits.

I came into truist to pickup a change order on 9/12 at 11:25am and 3 deposits. I was not greeted. I was asked if that’s everything before even being asked what I was here for. Then I was refused service by Theo.

Breezeline presented a check for $136 debiting my checking account. Problem: I didn't have the funds to cover the check. Truist issued the money to Breezeline anyway, leaving me with no money because the bad check generated overdraft fees. Thanks Breezeline and Truist. Note: I would have paid my bill within the next 5 days.

I purchased a vehicle and GAP insurance and financed thru Truist. I cancled GAP on the Vehicle on 9/22/2022 and paid off the loan on 9/28/22. The dealership issued a check to Truist on Oct 19, 2022 and the check cleared on 11/2/202. Its been two months and I have yet to receive a refund.
