I clean residential housing for a living in Australia. During this time, a terminally ill client purchased a Bissell Crosswave unit for it to be easier for me to clean his beautiful Jarrah floors.
Once he passed away, the unit was gifted to me and I happily used it frequently on my own tiled floors, with a cat and dog plus 4 adults in the house. this was fantastic.
Come to machine stops working after approx 15months use.
I have been advised I had to pay $100 just for a repair company to assess the issue and advise if it was fixable (at MY cost),
Because I could not provide a proof of purchase, they pretty much just gave me the shove.
So... machine is stuffed! I decided to pull it apart to discover that water had actually LEAKED in the main motor causing it to rust the screws and short the motor out. So, technically, the machine was faulty.
This LEAK was in a sealed area of the machine. I would call this a manufacturing fault. ? yet again, because Icannot provide proof of purchase (i have offered serial number of unit, etc. But this was "not required") by the customer service people apparently.
Very poor handling .. So now, I have NO Bissell and it is in the bin,,
I would not purchase another one, as the cost of them outweigh the performance.
Claimed loss: One Crosswave pet corded unit with a burn out motor.
Desired outcome: Replace machine.
