I signed a contract on March 14th 2010 for Blinds; The total cost was 574.94 and when I signed the contract I was advised that once factory delivered it was not returnable. Today is April 12, 2010 - and one window has a defective rod that was sent to the factory twice for correction. I have NOT HEARD from the shop as to date when I can have my blinds of one window installed. The 30 day law in Maryland applies to me as well as the seller. Do Ii get any compensation or reimbursement since i cannot return product.
Just disgusted; for you one bad bad marketing problem as this message will go to to future customers.BEWARE.
Poor quality and lame
Previously in 2007 I outfitted my home with B2G products - was blown away with the value and quality of the products.
2 monthes ago I finished the remaining bedroom and bought the same type of blind.
But.. the quality was [censored]e now:
- crappy fittings, cheap plastic this time and roughly finished.
- the pull cord was 8" from the RHS - looks terrible.
- the bar at the bottom was plastic instead of metal
- the quality of the 'pull' and 'release' feel is poor
Back to the store (the price went lower at B2G) to get a refund because of their "Low Price Guarantee", but this only applies to competitors!
Last time I buy from them...

Poor products
The wand that allows the blinds to be opened and closed will NOT stay attached to the blinds. Upon close examination, it appears the angle of the spindle to which the wand is attached is way too severe to be able to operate properly. The wand tends to come off the blinds at each use. When the wand falls off it renders the blinds useless.
Now I notice that Google sends all Blinds-To-Go searches directly to another company called Select Blinds Inc. Perhaps GOOGLE reads these reviews.
It is companies like Blinds-To-Go that contribute to the growing bad reputation of American-made products.

Defective product/poor service
Faux wood blinds with a 60 in. height blocked approx 1/5 of the view when raised. Some were used blinds whose protective plastic tape had been removed. I overheard the installers say they were surprised that most of the blinds looked brand new.
All blinds had been trimmed on one side only; shards of plastic were left from saw. This one-sided trim job left a gap of 3/8 on one side of each blind, which took away my privacy. You could watch the TV from outside! Also, the valances were cut wrong due to poor measurements, and the installer even broke one.
The entire job was so bad that the installer advised me to leave the protective which say to remove after mounting on the blinds(those that were new and still had the tape) because he knew it was going to have to be re-done. A cord-grabber broke off and store put it back using pliers that left scratches in the paint . This was the blind that had no protective plastic tape, probably returned from constant breakage.
When I called the 800#, they were rude and told me to deal with the store manager. The store manager was not knowledgeable of the product and therefore not helpful. After months of trying to get satisfaction on this situation, I was left having to order another set at a discount rather than getting a refund.

Lifetime warranty is a fraud
Blinds to Go supposedly offers a "lifetime warranty" on their products; howver this is not true by any means.
We've owned a set of cellular shades which we purchased from them and the cord mechanism broke.
We took it in for repair and in the process of reparing the chord, they broke an accent piece. They no longer carry the colour so they offered to replace the accent piece with a purple one (but the blind is a blue colour).
When I asked if they could replace the entire unit, they employee told me that they can only offer 50% off of the original price (the blind was purchased 10 years ago).
This seems ridiculous to me, they broke a piece of the blind that was in good condition, and now I have to pay for a new blind.
To me a lifetime warranty means that they guarantee their product for the entire time I own it, and if it breaks, they should repair it and give it back to me in good condition or replace it.

I returned my blinds for the same reason and they are refusing to replace them or fix them. Bought them about ten years ago as well. The newer blinds have a new mechanism and I think it is not compatible with the old blinds. I am still working on getting them to honor their warranty. I am prepared to pay more in legal fees then it would cost me to but new ones because I just don't like getting taken advantage of. Perhaps if many are in the same boat we could go class action.
Awful experience
My complaint with this store is that the management is not concerned about the consumer. I have dealt with Blinds to go for approximately 10 years and never encountered a problem until approximately 3 months ago, the first date being March 21, 2009. I ordered verical blinds for my living room adn please note that is where I ordered by original blinds for my living rooms(windows do not grow). This is a company that requires the consumer to do the measurements. I took one of the blinds in to make sure the measurement was accurate and of course when the order came in it was wrong. I called and complained to the home office of which at that time I was told that they would contact the store and return my call-note I was requesting a three way call so all parties could be involves in the conversation. I later received a call form them and basically was told that I was lying. I reqsted my refund and even at that time management still did not sem to care about the customer, just seem too happy to refund me. I waited for a period of time and I tried again, took in a diagram with the measurements(because I have aways gotten my blinds from them)and ofcourse it was the same probllem when the oreder came in and I when I call to explain I was told"we did not do the measurements so this is not our fault and we cannot give you a refund" I know that records are archived and not one time was it said "let's see if we can retrive your old records and get the accurate measurements if you have not change the windows in any matter. Never was this said-the manager even told me that she could not discuss the account without the the 'design consultant" being there. Why are you the manager. I have reported them to the BBB, and all local newspapers.

I agree that Blinds To Go is the worst store to shop for blinds. I would not recommend anyone purchase any blinds for that horrible place. I went to the one in Mississauga, Canada and they did not ask any questions about the depth although we explained that we had a Bay window. It turns out that the blinds we were recommended to purchase were 2.5 inches in depth and our window can only accommodate a 1 inch depth blinds of course they have this policy that does not allow for refunds although they are accountable. I called and requested to speak to the manager and the representative who answered the phone mentioned that she would pass on my message to their store manager to this day I have not heard from that manager. It's been a month. I lost $220.00 and did not receive my blinds or a call. I am so dissappointed with their services and the fact that they walked away with my money and didn't even offer the blinds because I expressed concern that the product I was getting would not accommodate my window.
Low quality of product
I worked for Blinds to Go myself. The stuff they sell is low quality! They use comfortex and Levelor as their supplier and everyone in window treatments knows how bad of a reputation Levelor and comfortex has. Also, the "lifetime warranty" is only good if that shade/blind style is still available. Once it's discontinued then your out of luck. I used to work there, I know! I am now working for another window treatment company that sells HIGH quality window treatments! Oh, and our sales pitch at BTG was we compare to Hunter Douglas. I sell Hunter Douglas now and there is NO COMPARISON! Your better off at Lowe's, Home Depot, or other retailers of high quality window treatments!

Don't buy from them
Well I don't know about buying from them but after going for a job interview with 'blinds to go' during the 1st interview the lady asked me if I have any children. And during the second interview the second lady nonchalantly tried to make conversation and stated that 'at my age' I should think about having children. I was shocked. The 2nd lady even asked me the exact names of other companies i've applied for as well as where my husband currently works. By far this interview with blinds to go with melody baram from canada (1st interview) and another brazilian lady (2nd interview) were the most horrible interview i've ever been to with complete discrimination and illegal! 2 days later I get the following email... Here is only a partial insert:
"after a careful review of each candidate's background relative to our needs, we believe that we have several candidates who may be a better fit and are unable to move your candidacy further at this time."
I just recently graduated from school as a home stager and interior redesigner. I thought what a better place to work other than blinds to go as well as I thought they had a fantastic career growth program. Just before my interview, which I had arrived 20 minutes early (I drove 1.5 hours away from where I live with the last $15 of money from my bank account and when I arrived the guy that worked at blinds to go gave me a dirty look and told me to sit in the front which I had done with the other girls. He never told my interviewer that I had arrived, and then when she comes to get the 3:30 appt, I stood up and said (what about me?) she just brushed it off and said that she didn't know what happened to me. Before hand, I spoke to the other girls waiting for their interviews and one girl worked as a door to door salesman/woman for a phone company here in canada and the other girl worked at best buy. How could I not be a good candidate (better fit) for this position? The job title is for 'decorating consultant'... Not salesman (nothing against the other girls because they were polite).
I will be filing a complaint with the canadian human rights commission because this was not fair with the types of questions they asked me and how I was judged by "at my age I should be having kids"...
People do not buy from them and do not apply for a job with blinds to go because they discriminate according to:
"sex" refers to the condition of being male or female. Under section 3 (2) of the canadian human rights act, discrimination related to pregnancy or child-birth is considered to be discrimination on the ground of sex.

Luka was helping us to select blinds. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Did not hesitate to go over material and price match for our budget. Very pleasant customer service and highly recommended.
They discrimi ate pretty badly. Especially in The NJ factory. All you get is negative feedback. If you ate not hispanic everything you do is frowned upon. If you dont speak spanish dont bother working there. People wonder where all the jobs are going? Most of the people there were immigrants still on greencards. Probably the most miserable experience ever. And the interviews are wayyyy personal. WTF do you need to know my life story.
Thank you guys for informing people! I normally do research before I buy, but looks like this company has a big problems, I don't think I will be buying any blinds ( as I planned ) for my new home.
You seem like the whiny, complaining, sh**t disturbing type and maybe that's why they didn't hire you.
thanks for posting, especially about the interview. after reading up on them, im glad i didnt waste time going to their hiring sessions, i havent read a single good thing about them. youve saved me a lot of hassle.
These guys just give you the run around if there is a problem, we been to the store twice and can't find anyone authorized to make any adjustments. 5 phone calls 2 trips to the store and no hope of any refund. 250 down the drain.
