Below is what I have sent to my insurance adjuster...Claim #JBI9591 Travelers Insurance.

Let me add that approx 2 weeks ago, my husband stopped at the local mini mart. The lower plastic piece below the grill got caught on a large piece of rebar sticking up holding the curb piece in place.  After speaking to our insurance agent, he advised us to take the car to Caliber Collision, ask for an estimate on additional damage, pay ourselves and sue the mini mart as they do not want to take responsibility.

So today, my husband called and received approval from the receptionist to drop the car off afterwork as we both work tomorrow and couldn't get it there at 9am.  Kenneth, Calibers Manager, starts off by questioning my husband on why he was dropping early and that we should be lucky he could take it and wasn't swamped in the shop.  He then proceeds outside to markup damage on the car, telling us that there is damage not related to either incident.  That joint between the left door and hood and fender wouldn't have been caused by either incident. That the misalignment between the left driver and back passenger door was not due to either incident. I explained to him that the car was initially shoved by a 3/4 ton truck into a stationery freezer, that did not move but slightly. He was adamant that the seams were previously there. Yes, the car had previous body work earlier this year but the difference in the width of these joints is definitely something we would have noticed.  Please keep in mind he had no idea what was on the estimate or work that had been authorized by Travelers. Nor did he know there were two estimates for two separate incidents.
What recourse do I have with Caliber Collision?  Can your adjusters help in any way?  Travelers steered me towards Caliber Collision so I am hoping you can help with this matter.

Desired outcome: that all seams/joints at front and rear, including hood be equal with no noticeable gaps or misalignment and an apology from the manager for his rudeness and unprofessionalism.

I would like to add the following information that transpired today 10.9.2024...

Just received a call from Eli at Caliber Collision who in turn spoke to Terry an adjuster at Traveler. Terry told Eli that because Caliber feels the fit and form, that needs repair, was from prior work done to the car earlier this year, Travelers would not cover it.

In addition, Caliber will now not repair any damage to the vehicle as their stance is "unless it's returned to proper fit/form they will not do the repair noting warranty issues." They requested I prepay for the questionable fit/form repair which financially I cannot do at this time.

I am confused as Eli took pictures when he initially wrote up the estimate and he states the fit/form issues were there, yet still provided an estimate, accepted your check and proceeded to schedule a repair date. In your experience, do you have any insights as to an explanation of the matter?
