Purchased a used vehicle from Canadadrives in June of 2023. Almost immediately after delivery the car started having issues which we were told “that’s what a warranty is for”. We decided to spend money to fix everything that was going wrong as conveniently the issues we were having were not covered under warranty. Fast forward to October 2023, we called the...

Canada Drives Cancelling my appointment without notice

We are flying out of the country in two days for better services for our disabled child.

For that reason I booked a meeting with Canada drives to sell our car.

After they approved the selling date and car estimate they confirmed the meeting for tomorrow morning March 10th at 10am.

However, they emailed at 6pm today March 9th and cancelled our appointment with no valid reason and without a solution or any other availability. We called Canada Drives the purchasing department personnel was rude and wouldn’t connect us to a manager so that we can discuss a solution. Our flight is in two days and now we are stranded with a car that we haven’t sold.

They should have given us at least 24 hours notice for this cancelation. That way we can find alternate solutions. In addition they would not connect us to any manager or person with authority to talk to. Which is also extremely unprofessional.

Desired outcome: To sell my 2019 Honda HRV

Canada Drives Protecting fraud identity

They called me asking to garuntor a loan that was fraudulent. I confirmed it was as the loan stated I was a relative to someone I wasn't. I was then denied any information about the person who was using my license and identity until I submitted an information request to which they redacted all info about the person using my identity. They even went so far as to stupidly send a confirmation email about my identity TO THE EMAIL OF THE FRAUD ACCOUNT. At this rate they seem to do more to protect criminals than help anyone.

They initially gave me the name of the person who made the loan too, but are now redacting and protecting it. So if they are following the law, they broke it already, if they aren't, this is absurd. You have given me the fraud accounts Email, VERBALLY and name, VERBALLY, now they are redacted? It makes me think you're a company that works with these people.

Desired outcome: To know the identity of the person using my information ILLEGALLY.

Canada Drives Unethical behaviour

Canada Drives requires you to put down a deposit of $500, and to insure the car you are purchasing before they can dispatch the vehicle to you (this was not disclosed to you during the whole purchase process btw). Expressed my concern to several rep that its amazing they've 7 days return policy but insurance companies do not have a 7 day free cancellation policy, so it doesn't make any sense to insure the vehicle first. No rep could address the concern, one was nice to refer to their insurance broker to me to ask questions, who confirmed that cancellation fees will apply.

The worst was this rep who told me on the phone that I have a lousy broker who doesn't know the rules and ask me to speak with another one or that I am not explaining to my broker correctly what is going on (?!) and even said she wish she had a 7 day return policy when she first bought her car --- if you don't know what's going on out there, please don't start insulting your customers (who is trying to work out a solution with you) on the phone.

I have cancelled my purchase with them, and requested for the down payment to be returned -- I'm waiting for this to come in.

Overall I feel Canada Drive is good for people who like to take chances with their vehicle purchase.

Canada Drives Purchase

Go through all the credit checks and approved for vehicle and then get two vehicles sent to me that I do not like. Spoke with sales guy and informed of what i want and sent pics and price even from vehicle window of trucks I want. No call back or message. Talk to Canada Drives Lady Danielle Betterridge and sent her info as well and spoke with her. She seemed like she may be somewhat concerned but was like in a daze. I haven't heard a word since from either of them two weeks and counting. They run credit and it brings credit down and then don't want to listen to what YOU want as buyer. Literally just run credit and never call or listen. It's pathetic. Winnipeg Canada Drives gets a 0 out of 10 and same with the entire buying experience. It's awful.

Desired outcome: Get a better manager as this one is awful

Canada Drives 2017 Hyundai Santa Fee

The worst vehicle buying experience I have ever had. I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe from salesman Chance Parr. I thought I was supposed to have 4 extra tires, but the car came with 3. The car was supposed to have a navigation system, and it did not. The car was supposed to have an automatic tailgate release and did not. I was told the car had 68000 Km, and it really has 86000Km. I was supposed to get $10,000 as trade in of my 2013 Ford Escape and when I got the bill of sale the trade in was only $9,000. In my frustration of not being able to contact Chance (he was avoiding my calls) I contacted White Rock Hyundai and was quite delighted to speak with Ashley. She was quick to settle the tire issue but still left me with high doubts of what might really go wrong, I contacted Ashley at White Rock Hyundai. She was very helpful in clearing up the tire issue and purchased two new tires on my behalf and I had them installed in Vernon. I don't know how to rectify the other issues but still very upset at the untruths that was told to me.
I realize that I have a credit issue and that I am a risk, but my 2013 Ford Escape was paid for in full. I wanted to get a vehicle that I could have paid for in three years. Instead, this car will not be paid for until 6 1/2 years. I am 72 years old and did not want to be committed to a payment plan that would set me up (possibly) for failure. I am truly confused as to where I go from here

Canada Drives Fraudulent predatory loan

My Gran was coerced into providing verbal consent to Tyler Thielmann, who at the time was representing Spring Financial under the guise of a Financial Advisor offering a pre-approved loan for $1750.00 to my Grandmother just prior to Christmas 2018. He is accused of using a fabricated email account to sign my Grandmother up for the online E-Signature Site - Docusign without her knowledge. He then created, and forged her electronic signature over the platform while providing misinformation regarding a low-risk "loan" opportunity to her over the telephone. Once the "financial advisor" had completed the fraudulent contract forms, he informed her that the "loan" would not be providing her with the funds as promised, and instead she was required to pay back the entirety of the $1750.00 pre-approved amount before she could access any of her her money.

When questioned and confronted about releasing the promised funds, he used his higher level of education, and capacity to understand complex financial jargon to convince her that he has been honest in his explanation of the loan during the entire process. He informed my Gran that the account would work as a savings account, growing and building better credit as she continues to make automatically withdrawn monthly payments to spring. He even said the account gathered interest and that she could use the funds at anytime. This description equally mirrors the carefully worded phrases smearing their company website. In order to ensure there were no more disputes, he used his authority to make her believe that she was in a concrete contractile bind with a banking facility, and that she was -required- to follow through with the agreement.

18 months of payments went into the savings account held by Spring Financial, amassing $1441.32 in deposits. When she wanted to investigate the balance of the account due to financial constraints caused by the pandemic, she was unable to locate her contract copy. She had tried multiple times in the 1.5 years prior to request a paper copy be sent to her for review, and was denied. It wasn't until mid-late May that she requested my help in organizing her finances. This is when she informed me of the Spring Financial Situation. Together we have been trying to navigate the chaos ever since.

The first issue we faced was the multiple attempts by the company to avoid providing a copy of the contract. First they attempted to provide "account statements" with no information other than the dates, and amount of her deposit. They neglected to provide the contract when requested, and it was only after multiple pleas for a comprehensive account statement that we received something with more information. When we reviewed the contract, it was very clear that my Grandmother had not been consulted on it's content, and that the signatures were not provided electronically by her. We have thoroughly investigated the contract, e-signature platform, emails and IP addressees all associated with the forgery as well as the blatant withholding of the contract itself, despite multiple requests by my Grandmother for a paper copy. When we approached Spring to discuss the matter we were met with hostility and fear mongering tactics by staff at the institution. We placed a stop payment on the automatic withdrawals from her chequing account by Spring Financial after being advised by TD. This in hopes of having dispute resolution regarding the matter, however Spring closed her "Loan" "Trust" "Savings account" and kept the $1441 of invested savings she had accumulated.

Our goal is simply to present our research, evidence and information, and then request that the full amount of $1441.32 with the additional accumulated interest be recovered on the 18 months which it would have been accumulating. Spring, and Tyler falsely promoted the "Interest" on the account as growth on her contributions, when in reality it was 17.77% in monthly charges, on top of their $550.00 "set up" fee which was not disclosed in the initial agreement. The company was requiring that she pay off the $550.00 fee, with incurred 17.77% interest on the total (principle and fee amount) prior to ever making significant reductions in her "principal balance." My grandmother simply wants to recover what is fair, and with the materials we have gathered, I believe that Tyler Theilmann and Spring Financial's actions would not only qualify as unethical, as a blatant abuse of knowledge and power : but also could be criminal.

Canada Drives Loan application

I was first contacted by Ashlynn by text to complete my application on December 31st 2019. I did not respond as I already have a vehicle, Nathan texted me again on January 8th and I mused the idea of possibly selling our current car (at the time) and getting one through Canada drives and we went back and forth discussing the type of vehicle I was interested in. On January 13th I tried to see their selection before I sent any of my personal information and documents but apparently it's backwards on how they do it. On January 18th Nathan texted me again saying "the bank is offering you up to $3000 cash back on the loan" and then asked me if I have bought a vehicle yet and I responded no. On January 20th he texted me again asking to sent my paystubs and license to his email but I did not respond. After a few days of calling and texting me trying to make a sale, I got a text from Nathan saying "the bank is offering you up to $5000 cash back on the loan" and asked me if I had got into a vehicle yet. I responded to the text and asked if I would get the $5000 and the car and he did not respond. I did not hear back from them until February 25th regarding my application, Bryant and Ryan from the same number texted me to tell me my application was expiring soon and I did not respond. On February 26th Nathan messaged me asking me to send my paystubs and a picture of my license but didn't respond and on March 2nd he texted me again asking for it and I sent it to him. On March 3rd he texted me again asking for my social insurance number and I sent that as well. I then got a text from Charlie (all from the same number btw) and said "I couldn't help but notice you were looking into a vehicle and we were unable to make that happen for you. What can I do to help get you into that vehicle you were looking for?" I responded with "I was actually hoping to get the $5000 cash back loan I was offered along with financing a vehicle.. but as far as I know someone named Nathan is working on it". I then got another text saying "everything is completed on our end. Please complete the link when you have the chance". On March 4th Bryant texted me to send my T4 from last year so I sent that to him by email. On March 6th I got a text from Jacob wanting to know if I was currently insured on a vehicle and said he was going to get some quotes ready for me. Between then and March 16, after being harassed to buy something, I purchased a vehicle with a $300 down payment. I then got a text on March 30th offering up to $5000 because of the covid crisis. So after sending all of my personal information, having multiple credit checks, sending a $300 as a down payment through a e-transfer, having my girlfriend already sell our previous car, after having the plate switched over and the insurance worked out (over the phone using my credit card)... on Thursday morning my girlfriend went to use the car to go to work and two Canada Drives "drivers" were parked behind us in a truck and stopped her on the way to the car and asked for me to come outside. They decided to tell me, after I've had the car for nearly a month, that my lender wanted to reconfirmed with my employer that I'm still working because of the lay offs from Covid. So I went ahead and asked for a letter stating that I was still employed, I sent it to them but apparently it needed more information so I got them another letter but apparently that wasn't good enough either. By the time I went outside my car was already gone... which I found odd because usually once you sign a contract, there's no going back... or that's all according to Canada Drives for anyone who wanted to return their car lmao. I contacted Sam who said that he "was trying to work with another bank" I told him to give me back the car or at least bring it back so we could collect our personal belongings and get our $300 down payment back. He told me after he got the keys in his hand that he would then put in a request to have the $300 back to us in 3-5 business day's.. when it took 2 seconds for him to accept it. He told me his "drivers" were already on the way to Edmonton and they couldn't return to Lloydminster. He said we would be in contact on Monday (today) and we still haven't heard from anybody. We just want our stuff and our $300 down payment back. We have personal documents and my girlfriend left her prescription medication in there and we are unable to get anything because we already sold our old car. We are honestly horrified by the situation we were put in and deserve so much more than the money we are owed. There is no point in calling their number for customer service because they all directed me back to Sam. It's just a bunch of money-hungry children behind a telephone trying to make sales. Once they have your attention they're nice and friendly as they could be. Once they have your money they're useless, cold hearted and they block your number. It's honestly a scam of a company. Will never recommend and will be telling everyone about my experience.

I was contacted by Ali after inquiring about a car loan through borrowell the credit app Ali had contact me asking if he could assist sure I told him
What vehicles I was interested in at first was a bmw but after finding out the vehicle was in an accident I wanted to see if the owner would lower his price which I was told no he would not so we moved on looking at an Audi Q5 I was super interested but I couldn’t stomach the 6.5 interest charge they were offering ALI kept asking me to send my pay stubs and drivers licence to him but I kept refusing telling him I didn’t want my credit pulled until I know forsure I was gonna purchase a vehicle through him and even explained I was also inquiring with others dealers so no point going through the credit process until
It was time after the day back and forth I just decided he wasn’t gonna get me in my budget I wanted and the interest rates were pretty high I ended up going to a bmw dealer here in Hamilton and got everything I needed in budget and rates, I went into my credit report and noticed I had a few inquiries in there from ALI pulling my credit report are you kidding me I specifically told him not to run my credit he totally went against my wishes and my rights and ran it not through 1 bank but 3 banks! Then it all
Started making sense why he wanted my pay stub and drivers licence was he gonna close on a deal behind my back ? Very sketchy very ignorant when I questioned him on it after a week buying my bmw from budds bmw he messaged me asking how I made out I informed him I purchased a vehicle and I didn’t appreciate the credit checks after I specifically told him not to until I was ready he blocked me on I message completely disrespectful and disgusting

Canada Drives Call offering personal loan.

A few months ago I applied for a car loan but ended up going a diffrent direction. Ever since I gat non stop calls about a personal loan I am pre approved but no one can tell me how much or what the interest rate will be without a credit check? I believe that you company is confusing pre approved with the term pre qualified, which does not give me alot of confidence in their knowlage of the loans and services they are offering .
I answered one of these calls on thursday. I am pretty sure I was not told I was being recorded which I know I was as it says as much on your website and you legally have to tell me.
As the call continued the man on the line went from pleasant to pushy and rude with the flip of a switch. I told him I was not interested and that I had to return to work several times and his answer was to accuse me of not being able to pay my bills and continue to tell me that I basically had to finish the process and allow him to run another credit check. I ended up stateing again I was not interested and hung up because he had upset me.
I'm appalled that you would allow someone to speak to your customers like that and you have definitely lost any chance of having me as a customer . I will definitely be telling anyone I know not to choose Canada Drives.

Canada Drives Calling

They have been harassing me for the past several months. I've tried everything to get them to stop calling. I bought a car brand new direct from dealer without them so I don't need them at all and they were useless anyways. But they won't stop calling. I block every number that shows up from them but it still won't stop! I'm looking into reporting them to the police, as I am starting to fear for my safety if they won't stop.

They said they got my name and phone number put in their web site and they can do a credit check I said how can you do that with so little info? Anyway they said they couldn't do anything about it and I could tell that they didn't care at all so I'm just gonna file a complaint with equifax. What a shady company.

Canada Drives Credit help

Hello I applied for a car loan and provided all my information signed an agreement only to find out I was agreeing to a secured loan that only benefits Canada drives and speaking with a really unprofessional sales rep I requested a supervisor that only wanted to hear his own voice and would constantly keep trying to sell me a product I did not want he refused to cancel my agreement after signing the agreement only a few minutes earlier. I asked him directly to tell me if he was or was not going to cancel the contract and he kept telling me about my credit he turned very arrogant and again kept trying to sell the product despite me continuously telling him I'm not interested to the point I started getting upset as he did not and refused to hear me and he continued being rude after I advised him I had to go pick up my daughter and had no more time for this he again continued to carry on I need assistance in cancelling this agreement please contact me i will also be taking legal action if required.

Canada Drives Spring trust

I was in need of a vehicle and contacted Canada drives and got a phone call back, I have my new vehicle and have been driving it for just over a month now. A couple of days ago I received a text message from Canada Drives saying I was pre approved for a 15 thousand dollar loan. So this morning I responded I need a few dollars to get me through until my profit share came through from work. I explained this to Tyler on the phone and of course no problem. So they got my home information, my bank information and like a pro he had to call me back. After an hour I get the call back and I was approved for a 1750.00 loan. Next he transferred me to another loans department, the line was horrible and scratchy during the conversation. We did the email with loan agreement and through this whole conversation did this person ever tell me that I would not be getting that loan for 4 years. They made it seem like it was available for me to use now to pay down my credit card bills. She kept going on and on about how good this was for my credit rating and how I was covered by insurance. It wasn't until I googled information that I realized I was being scammed in to paying 2300.00 first in fee's plus 1750.00 for a total of 4, 402.56. And after the 3 years of paying all of this I would finally get 1750.00. And yes they do have this in a small box at the top but you are directed to go straight to page 3 to go over the details of your payment plans. I asked a few times how the money would be put in to my account and all she kept saying was held in trust. It has been 5 hours since my first conversation with them and I just spent an hour and 7 phone calls waiting on the phone to cancel this. I finally got through and they have agreed to cancel and I am suppose to get an email saying so. And the way they get you to sign they have one of their people sign your name. I got my confirmation of closure but still want to post this to warn others about this scam

Canada Drives Customer service

This place is the worse!
First off I submitted all the information requested for a car loan. To my surprise the girl that was dealing with me named Jayden pced out and went on vacation. I called several times trying to get a update. Finally someone from finance took over my file and and submitted the information to a lender. He advised me he would contact me by Wednesday.. it is now a week and nothing so I decided to call them. Apparently I was approved by a lender and nobody decided to call me.. nor did the dealership that they were apparently dealing with it took Canada drives 2 and a half weeks to get something done and I had to call several times for a update! So ridculious! I turned down there offer and told them to delete all my information as I want nothing to do with this useless company! Stay away stay far far away. Oh I have also requested to speak to a manager and they don't give a [censored] so nobody has called!

Canada Drives Secured savings loan

Hello, my name is Joshua Ward and less than 24 hours ago, I was suckered into signing up for a secured savings loan of $2, 300 over a 3 year fixed term, with an interest rate of 17.9%. I am trying to get a hold of Refreshed Credit and cannot speak with anyone as they keep putting me on hold. I would just like to cancel this contract, I have not paid them yet, and I was reading about cooling off periods. It has been less than 24 hours and I feel like this should be cancelled no problem. It is just so frustrating that I cannot get a hold of anyone.
