Canada Post missing delivery

Today is 16th October 2016 and i sent a letter on 14th September 2016, from Toronto to Toronto, and no one knows where is the letter. I sent by registered mail, so i paid more to make sure it will be a security service. i called and email canada post asking for the letter and no ones know to give me a answer. so the canada post don't care about his costumers! it is the worst service in canada. I lost the letter and i lost the amount that i paid for the service. If you want to send something important for you, please don't use post canada!

Canada Post parcel delivery

On oct 10 2016 (thanksgiving day) canada post rang my apartment, but before I answered they left without leaving a notice of pickup. I can see the front door from my apartment, so I knew it was canada post. I went online to check the tracking number and sure enough it stated that an attempted delivery was made. This is not the first time they have done this type of thing. It is however the first time on a holiday, now I have to drive to the nearest pickup point to get my parcel that should have been delivered in the first place.

Delivery persons are required to leave a delivery notice card informing the customer of a place their parcel can be picked up.

So you are off on a family holiday and they are not, but you have no compassion for these people who have to work? And how many stops do you think they have to make? If you could see them then why didn't you open the door?

Canada Post service

Usually, if the package is not very large, they would deliver to my door.
Today, around 2:45, the lady who is delivering my post ask me to go down stairs and get my package. Which I am totally fine. Before I get out of my suite, I needed to get dressed and when I got down, she is GONE. One of my neighbour told me, the lady said she is in a hurry and left already.
OK...since she left already and I wasn't able to get my package in person, I checked my mailbox for the pickup slip. BUT I SAW NOTHING! Wasn't she suppose to leave a pickup slip for me to pick up my package at a post office?!
Like seriously, the guy that used to delivery never leave this mess to me! What is with this new girl?! I called customer service and they told me that my package is NOT marked as sent or ready for pickup. Customer service told me if the lady didn't comeback and deliver before 8pm today, I would need to call my sender about this. WHY DOES OTHER PEOPLE NEED TO DEAL WITH THESE EXTRA MESS JUST BECAUSE THAT ONE PERSON MESSED UP?! Like seriously, if that lady didn't give me my pickup slip by tonight, I'm calling in again to file another complain!

I totally agree. File complaint to make these people awake and have some ethics. I just got horrible services twice here in Vancouver. Tired to write it in details for now.

Canada Post postal delivery worker

Our postal worker has been nothing but rude to us on several different occasions. It started last Winter; there is a drain at the end of our driveway that is connected the the sump pump under our home. It creates a large patch of ice that runs horizontally across our driveway. We have two small children and we are keenly aware of the danger it poses and how easily someone could slip and fall on it. We use ice melter regularly, not only for our benefit but for anyone else who may approach our home, say, the Canada Post mail carrier. One morning as I tried to get my daughter off to kindergarten he yelled at me, saying I was endangering his life and that if he were to slip on our driveway it would be my fault and he would be sueing me for his injuries. He told me to at least put some salt down, which I assured him we do multiple times throughout the day. He told me again how irresponsible it is of us and that the drain is in the wrong spot and we should move it...this is not an option and we are very careful to warn people about it on especially cold days. We live in BC and have very wet winters; there really isn't ice there for too many days.

Fast-forward several months; end of Spring/over the Summer we began some exterior renovations on our home which include painting the siding. We've had to take our address sign and the mailbox down and they are both sitting on our front step in plain sight. Because the weather has been either too hot or rainy the painting is only partially complete and we have not yet been able to mount the mailbox again. We noticed a few weeks ago that our mail was being placed on top the box instead of inside. It's been warm out so it hasn't been an issue at all. This morning I pulled into our driveway just as our mail carrier was approaching our front door, and I watched him throw our mail at the mailbox and then storm off, and it's going to rain today so if I hadn't seen it there's a good chance we would have soggy letters. After I'd exited my car, which my two small children in tow, he yelled at me from across the street, "Aren't you ever gonna mount your mailbox back on your house?" I explained about the renovations and apologized for the inconvenience; he told me to at least move it somewhere so he didn't have to bend down.

I understand that it would be easier for him if the mailbox was mounted on the house again; it would also be easier for us if the renovations were complete and we weren't living in a construction zone anymore. We're not deliberately trying to make his job more difficult and there's no way you can tell me that every mailbox he delivers to is at the optimal height for him. It's very obvious that we've been doing work on the house and I would merely appreciate a little bit of understanding on his part, and less threats to sue me and yelling at me in front of my children. I have been only kind towards him; his attitude is completely unprofessional.

Canada Post parcel delivery

A parcel was delivered to my billing address instead of my shipping address. The billing address was vacant, but the postal worker "safe dropped" the parcel anyways. How is a vacant home "safe"? Canada Post will not cover for the seller because they say it was delivered, subsequently the seller will not do anything for me. I visited the location but the parcel was not there, with neighbours or at the rental office, so I assume has been stolen. Does Canada Post not have an obligation to make sure a so called "safe drop" is safe. If they had left a notice to pick it up at the post office this would not have happened.

This seems like a typical case of either laziness or incompenance of the delivery person.

Canada Post parcel delivery

I purchased an item and received notice Aug 24, 2016 to pick up the parcel at the Shallow Lake, ON location between the hours of 08:45 am to 17:45 pm Monday to Thursday. Fridays 9:00 am to 18:00 pm. This outlet is within the general store. I have to drive 15 minutes out of my way to this postal outlet so detoured on my way to work and arrived on August 25, 2016 at 8:40 am. I waited 10 minutes and was told by the general store clerk that she didn't believe that the woman started until 9:00 am most mornings.

I left without my parcel and then decided to attempt a return trip over my lunch hour the following Monday, Aug 29/16, and arrived at 1:10 pm. This time I had to drive from Owen Sound to Shallow Lake and back to work again. I arrived only to find a sign up on the post office desk indicating that she was out for her own lunch until 2:30 pm. No where on the Parcel notice did it indicate closed for lunch and the grocery store clerk indicated they close the outlet for 2 hours *every day* from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

Needless to say I still don't have my parcel which I'm trying to retrieve not only by the 15 deadline but before the pending postal strike. In order to make the 3rd attempt, I actually have to request early leave from work so that I can try to arrive when there is actually staff on site between 2:30 pm and 5:45 pm. Very frustrating when services are not available as outlined.

Canada Post mail delivery

I went to send a small package to my sister not to far away (regional) for her birthday. Apparently the postal code was wrong...it still made it there but got sent back to me saying delivery incomplete. To receive it back it cost me more money then what it took to originally send it (Canada Post says it's to recoup the cost of sending it back). So basically $30 and I still have the original parcel in hand. Called Canada Post and they said due to the computers controlling the movement of parcels that why it couldn't be delivered...how did it make it to it's destination in the first place only not to be placed in the P.O.BOX?...how did it get received in the first place? I advise people to use any other courier besides Canada Post...

I have live in my house for over 22 years, and for all of those years any time i am required to pick up a parcel (And there are lots) i have gone to the same post office located in fairway market on jacklin road in victoria. For over 22 years, why then have my last two parcels been delivered to london drugs location which is extremely inconvenient. After 22 years... I want it known that i will refuse to pick up any parcels that are sent to the london drugs location, and i will then go to the media, social media, newspapers, and anyone else that will listen and tell them after 22 years someone at canada post decided to start sending my parcels to a completely different and inconvenient location. I would like to know after 22 years what person made that decision. ? You can have any of my parcels that are at the london drugs location sent to the fairway market location and then you can contact the one who decided to change my post office after 22 years and tell them to grab a bloody brain. Sincerely mrs, michele flint, i might add that canada post seems to have gone down hill so badly, that seems like the inmates are now running the asilam

Canada Post package destroyed and undelivered

I mailed a package from the state of New York via USPS to Montreal on June 14th, 2016. The package cleared customs just fine but instead of being delivered to the receiver, it ended up at the Undeliverable Mail Office in Ontario. Canada Post told me the contents were separated from the package and they only have the label. They refuse to investigate any further because I am 'not their customer, I am a USPS customer'. They insist I have to deal with USPS in order to figure out what's going on with my package in Ontario, Canada. They won't answer any of my questions or investigate until they get a claim from USPS. I am the sender - I need to explain to my customer, the receiver, what happened to the goods she ordered - I should get the answers directly from Canada Post!
I have called their support line 3 times and spent 20 - 45 minutes on the phone with them each time. They gathered all possible details from me each time yet never provided an answer or resolution. Only on the third call was I told there was nothing they could do unless they received a claim from USPS.
I have since resent the goods to my customer via UPS and they got there safely and in 1 piece within 2 business days. Of course, I incurred extra costs to do that but, as a professional who cares about my customers, that was my obligation. Canada Post has the same obligation towards anyone whose package is routed through them, regardless what country they live in.
I want Canada Post to inquire about the whereabouts of my goods and answer my questions directly. The tracking number of the package is:
LC439416606US

Canada Post inexplicable parcel routing

I've been tracking a parcel being shipped to me from the U.S. :
I see that it arrived and cleared customs (Vancouver, B.C.), was processed to Richmond, and then... it was sent to Montreal ?!?
It's supposed to be shipped to Comox, Vancouver Island!
Please explain to me why it's being routed half way across the freakin' country?
This is an item that I need to put a few finishing touches on before giving it as a birthday gift, and time is growing critical.

In Canada Post's Code of Conduct, it states:

d) conduct yourself as a proud, professional and customer-oriented ambassador of Canada Post...

Well, guess what Canada Post,
you failed to honor your Code of Conduct, and are in breach of trust.

Canada Post parcel not received

A friend sent me a small package (bubble-wrapped envelope) from Burnaby BC, with a tracking number on June 15th, 2016. On June 20th I saw online that it had been delivered, so after work I went to my community mailbox, expecting to find it there. It wasn’t. I thought perhaps it had been put into the still-existing rural mailbox or left at my house, but it wasn’t there, either. I tried to contact the post office, which is only open until 1pm Mon-Fri and left messages explaining what had happened. My call(s) were never returned and now the voicemail is full. I tried to contact Canada Post by phone but since the tracking number shows it was delivered, I couldn’t get anywhere. I also tried to open a ticket but, again, since the parcel was delivered – to someone, apparently, just not me - I couldn’t do that, either. Also, since I am "only" the recipient, I cannot open a ticket at all. Only the sender can do that. I work some 45 km away from my home and the post office is only open until 1pm, so have been unable to communicate with them at all. I just cannot understand how this could have possibly happened. I live in a very rural community. The post office lady in Margaretsville NS knows who I am. She knows who everyone is, where they live and how their mail is delivered. It is disgraceful that she cannot take the time to even listen to her voicemail, much less respond to it. My property has now been missing for three days. SOMEONE has it, presumably, and I want it returned to its rightful owner.

The tracking number is MW452997344CA. What can I do? How can my mail be retrieved?

Canada Post undelivered parcels but leaving a d.n. card in my community mail box

I can't believe how the service with Canada Post has declined in the past few years. I checked the track package web site and found that my package was labeled "Attempted delivery. Notice card left indicating where item can be picked up", funny I stayed at home today expecting the package. I sat in my living room from 06:00 to 12:00 and absolutely no one came to my door! Also there was no DNC left at my house. I did find the DNC in my community mail box over a block away from my house. How can they get away with stating an attempt was made to deliver, when all they did was fill out a DNC and stuff it in a community post box, something started to abolish door to door mail service in order to concentrate on their parcel delivery business? You pay for door to door service but if the postal worker doesn't feel like it you won't get that service. What happened to the reliable postal service we used to have?

Canada Post services

My 11/16 moved from Iqaluit to Alberta. Was expecting 2 packages. Told the attendant at the post office and he suggested I fill out a mail forwarding. I paid 69.25 for it.

May 31/16 - I received one package the post office did forward.

June 3/16 0930 am - I contacted [protected] until I got in contact with the person in charge of mail forwarding. She informed me that Canada post does not forward packages. I told her I already received a forwarded package. She said "I got lucky." I requested the Iqaluit post office number. She told me they don't accept incoming calls. The package sent to me was not tracked. It is a camera from my daughter.

I googled Iqaluit post office and got their phone number. They did answer the phone so obviously they do accept incoming calls. The man who answered did go to the mailbox and did tell me the package in question was returned to sender.

My complaint is about the woman I spoke with at [protected]. She did not identify herself. She just yelled at me and told me if I would have looked on line, I would know Canada post does not forward packages. She was incredibly rude and did not help my situation at all. And why would she not be allowed to give out a phone number for a business that posts their phone number on line.

Canada Post exorbitant cost of shipping!!

I have been selling on ebay for years and been using Canada post to send my packages. I am appalled at the cost to send packages with tracking service! There is no way one can do business using Canada post and expect to sell items that require tracking! I recently sent an item to the UK that was worth approximately $65 USD. That was close to 2 months ago. To send it with tracking it would have cost more than the value of the item. As of today the item has not arrived at its destination and I have had to reimburse the buyer. I know the US has many more people that we do here in Canada, which I'm sure will be among the excuses given for why the cost is so much more reasonable down south, but that is a poor excuse! Since the package is now "missing" and I'm out $65 USD, what options do I have other than to spend more on shipping than the item is worth just to make sure it arrives!? I'm disgusted with the ridiculous amounts we are paying! And this is not the first time! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Canada Post postal worker

I went out to my mailbox to check for mail with my dog as I do every day, when my postal service worker had appeared and started screaming at me to grab my dog. She pulled out mace and started running around screaming at the top of her lungs at me to get my dog. Clearly she got my dog going as he thought she was playing a game. He was in no way aggressive. I asked her to calm down and told her that her actions were only fueling the situation. She was extremely rude and continued to yell at me. She has obviously had an encounter with another animal and was taking it out on my dog and myself. I have a neighbour and my spouse who will attest to this behaviour. She has always been very rude to us for no apparent reason. Today she acted very inappropriate and I was offended at her actions. My dog is a young lab who has never had an issue with any one or any other animal. I am a regular volunteer of the Humane Society specifically with dogs, and know how to properly handle my family pet. I was embarrassed by her actions.

Yes there are unanswered questions. However, the fact that the postal employee acted in an extremely fearful manner would have elicited compassion and empathy from any reasonable person. Not the reaction that the poster gave. Not everyone loves your animals the way you do. Some people have a deep set fear of them. Human compassion has become darn near extinct in this country where nobody cares about anyone or anything but themselves and their own wants.

As for the workers first instinct, if someone or something comes rushing at me, my first instinct is the draw my weapon. You act like that is wrong, when personal protection is a God given, and Constitutional right.

LOL, Wine is good,

He did exactly like he should of, tell her to calm down. With puppies, all this extra movement is taken as wanting to play.

Funny how teh postal workers first instict is to take out a can of pepper spray.

Was this postal worker in a fenced yard? was the dog leashed? there are many unanswered questions but the postal workers actions were un warranted.

Your level of compassion for this woman's fear is inspiring. Clearly, she had a terrifying encounter with a dog before, and instead of being sympathetic, you were apathetic. I wonder, now, what her rudeness could possibly have stemmed from. Shame on you.

Canada Post lack of mailboxes

I work for a small business in Barrie. The closest mailbox to send business mail is 1.3km away and has a note not to put the mail in the box if it's been raining. Why aren't there more viable mailboxes to send mail in Barrie Business areas?

We pick up our Business mail from a lockbox dedicated to our block of Business units. When it rains, the mail gets wet. In the winter, the lock freezes. Why isn't there a lettermail slot for outgoing mail?

At home, my mailbox is basically an extension of my blue box. This is where I pick up my printed spam. I pick it up and bring it home and put it in my blue box for the recycling truck.

Canada Post delivery, customer service

This company is a joke. I am constantly dealing with parcels being late, charge a premium for delivery and having to wait past my guaranteed delivery date. This is not the first time they do this, making me wait for my medicine that I have no choice to get mailed through xpress post. Now all I get is the run around about how my package is at so and so and you have to wait till monday because they dont work on weekends. Oh really? So my package is just going to sit in your sort facility while a wait?
Thanks for the awesome service Canada Post. You know how to provide a great service we pay for.

You should definitely tell the shipper about the issue of your parcels arriving past the EDD (estimated delivery date). If it's a guaranteed service (ie xpress post, priority, etc) the shipper is able to get a full refund. If the shipper was a reputable company they would, in turn, reimburse you the shipping you paid.

Canada Post letter returned to me - moved, unknown.

I mailed a letter on the 18th march to a friend in RR1 battleford sask, I did not know he had a po box # but i knew he had received my mail when i sent it to his Rural Route # 1 in battleford. and lo and behold I get my letter back with RTS written all over it and a sticker saying moved, unknown, return to sender.
My question is this : are they too lazy to do a quick look up on the RR1 list? .
I know for a fact that Battleford post office is a small branch and i feel they never tried to even forward it to his po box. I lived there for almost 20 years before i joined the forces so i know that life there is slower than in other larger towns.

Canada Post delivery

I have two issues
1. An envelope mailed to an address in the United States on March 6th was not received by March 25th when I left South Carolina to return to Toronto.
The envelope contained mail which was forwarded to my daughter in Toronto by a temporary mail redirect who selected the important items and forwarded them to me. The first mailing in February took 8 days to arrive in South Carolina. The second mailing on March 6th never arrived and despite the fact that I requested the US Postal Service to return the envelope to sender (my Toronto address was on the envelope) I have not yet received the envelope. Unfortunately the envelope contained documents required for filing with my 2015 tax return.
2. I received an envelope at my Toronto address on April 14th that was mailed by first class mail in Toronto on March 23rd. The address was correct including postal code. More than 3 weeks for mail within the same municipality is ridiculous!

Suffice it to say I have no confidence in the reliability of Canada Post.

Canada Post customer service

This afternoon my husband and I were in the Eagle Ridge RPO, at Shopper's Drug Mart, Fort McMurray, to mail 2 packages. Simple right? NOT...
Denise was our rpo clerk and there to offer a service to us. Unfortunately, no mistake of our own, Denise encountered a problem with the barcode label she printed and had to redo it for our first parcel. She grew increasingly frustrated and began to take it out on my husband and I. First she told me I must produce my venture one card prior to her ringing in the purchase otherwise she would have to cancel and redo the order. Which I felt was irrelevant information because I did produce the card prior to the transaction and all was well, I paid for my package to be shipped, BUT SHE MADE ME FEEL LIKE I DID SOMETHING WRONG, BUT I DIDN' T...then it was my husbands turn, first she told him he should have purchased his envelope, fill it out, then go back in line to ship it, (which didn't make sense since we had lots of time waiting for her to complete my transaction and he was ready when she was) nonetheless she completed his transaction with a scowl and rang him through.
We decided that we will use another form of service because we did not receive the kind friendly service we paid for.

I ordered wedding invitations from VistaPrint. According to the tracking number, it already arrived April 11'16. That day, when we checked for a package in the community mailbox. There was a key in our mailbox for the parcel locker. However, the key wasn't the right key so we put it in an envelope and back in our mailbox with the note that the key couldn't open the parcel locker...Waited for 3 days more because we're not sure if that's the parcel we're waiting for. This afternoon, we contacted Canada Post. They said allow 3 days and they will try to track the package...If the post person used a bit of common sense the next day, he could have easily delivered it infront of our door. It's only about 30 feet from the mailbox.
A few times they left a package infront of my door -- got rained on, items that cost hundred of dollars (but not damaged, thank God) even if signature was recquired.
Now we're under strain for this big delay. C'mon, guys, we all have bad days i understand, just be a little bit more sympathetic.
