On 10/28/23 I check my luggage, small suitcase and backpack, at Carnival port and boarded Carnival Sunshine. Mine and my roommates suitcase was delivered later in the day after sailing. My checked backpack never arrived.
My Stewart said that some baggage had not been delivered.
At approximately 1030PM i went to customer service to report my backpack missing.
The lady went in a room and came out with my backpack…checked baggage tag still attached. She had a form where they had checked the contents. I moved to beside the desk to check contents and found items missing. Before I could approach the counter again, a Carnival employee that cleaned the bathrooms told me he found the bag in the men’s room pushed under the sink.
The Service Desk employee FAILED to tell me that….even implied that I lost it somewhere.
I had NOT seen the bag since I checked it with Carnival baggage before boarding.
Service desk listed items as lost, they WERE NOT LOST, THEY WERE STOLEN.
Security was called and they implied that I lost the backpack or had the missing items in my room. I’m not stupid and am a retired police officer….I can tell when I’m getting the run around. I turned over the custody and care of my bag to Carnival and NEVER saw it again until I got it back at customer service.
On 9/2/23 I located my missing Visor hanging beside cabin 2335. I went by Customer service to talk to security. I was told security was busy but she would let them know when and where I found my visor.
The next day I went by customer service to find out who I needed to speak with to get reimbursed for my stolen items. I also inquired if security had been advised of the circumstances of me finding my visor. The lady earlier FAILED to advised them. This lady said she would.
I spoke to the occupants in room 2335. They stated that on the day we sailed, they heard something fall or hit their door. When they opened the door they found the visor. Recognizing the THIN BLUE LINE they figured a law enforcement officer dropped it and hung it up hoping they would come by and see it.
Proving the bag had probably been on the 2nd floor. Maybe the thieves saw it outside my room and took it. I seem to be the only one concerned about my items. I have 72 sailing days with Carnival and have never had a problem until now. My bag was in Carnivals care and custody and I would like to be reimbursed for missing items. The security office has an incident report that I made. I am very miffed about being accused of me losing my bag.
Claimed loss: My items are listed on attached report. Visor returned…value of missing items $170.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement for items
