Dear Carnival Cruise Lines,
I feel the need to voice my complaint because my last cruise was not a great experience as expected.
I had planned to take my sister on a cruise for her birthday, which was in April of this year. The cruise was booked in April 2023 but unfortunately our oldest died and we had to cancel to attend his funeral. I planned this last one for us and included an Upgrade by getting a balcony.
I am a Gold Member Joyce Lynn Loftin (VIFP # [protected]) and have cruised with Carnival…..

I love the Carnival Cruise line but my last vacation was AWFUL.
Upon arriving we noticed a musty smell in our cabin 16208…it was not bad but by day 3, it was awful. I felt nauseated, light headed and I had an awful headache. My sister has Crohn disease and could not stay in the cabin at all. I contacted housekeeping and guest services. It took them over 4 hours to get the cabin to smell nice enough for us to be able to sleep in the cabin by using some machine TWICE to improve the odor, which meant we had to stay out of the cabin for the duration. The next day, the odor returned. We were told it was coming from the “CLOTH CLOSETS.” They insinuated that OUR clothes were giving off the odor and that was VERY UPSETTING and EMBARRASSING because I knew that was not the truth. I told them we do not bring wet clothing to the cabin and put them in the cloth cabin with out clean clothes! We were told that we had to clear out the cabinets, send our clothes to the laundry (Carnival did pay for them) and they would bring the machine back in to fix the smell. Well, this was ANOTHER inconvenience. Another 4-5 hour ordeal of getting the dirty clothes ready to be laundered, packing our clean clothes and leaving them on the balcony in our suitcases and staying out of the cabin for another hour while the machine ran. We were told we could not be in the room while the machine was running. I returned an hour later and the odor had not improved much, with all of our clothes removed and after the machine ran for 45 minutes. They FINALLY moved us to another cabin (10446)…another inconvenience! I felt so bad for my sister. This was supposed to be her 65th birthday gift again that did not turn out so well. I am asking for some form of compensation. This was the worst cruise vacation for us both. She does not want to go on another cruise. Please find a way to fix this for us.
Look forward into hearing from you
Thank You
