I placed an order on May 1st and kept checking back online to see if any updated info had been added. Fastforward to today May 13th, I decided to CALL to check since no updates had been added to the site. The operator told me my order had been delivered to the store on May 6th! No one contacted me at all. Very poor customer service. The order was placed online and was to be shipped to 4111 New Bern Avenue

I walked in today to get me a shirt to go to the festival I was greeted but didn't even see the person that was greeting me! I ordered a skirt on 3/23/19. I handed the employee a size 24 and asked her to order a size 28. She was talking to another employee and said 24 in her comment so I asked her, not once but twice the size she was ordering was a 28. She assured me very rudely that she was ordering a 28. When the order came in it was a size 24. I returned it and another employee ordered it yet again. The size she assured me she was not ordering. I just today, 4/23, a month later I finally received the skirt. On 4/6 I went into the same store 00016 and ordered a denim skirt. I paid for it and she said it would be in within 14 to 17 business days. This is ridiculous in itself however it is what it is. Well on 4/23 I called because I still have not received either of my orders. Well she told me the reorder was delivered yesterday so I would receive a call today. I asked her about the order from 4/6 she had not record of it. I was on the phone for over 40 minutes trying to get her to understand that I really did order it. The employee entered it as a sale and not a send sale. After trying to prove my case, a couple of hours later she informed me I would have to come into the store for a refund and they could reorder. Now I would have to wait another 2 plus weeks to get my order! I have left several messages for Joe or Jill Evans and she will not return my phone call. I have called others and no one seems to be able to do anything or could care less. I should not have to wait 2 more weeks for an order I paid for on 4/6 almost 3 weeks ago. Cato is my favorite store and I shop there ALOT but this is really causing me to reconsider and take my money elsewhere. The customer service absolutely sucks!

Good afternoon. I habe been shopping at the Rock Hill, SC store for years. I have always had good service. Until today. There were a total of three employees today at the check out counter. none of them greeted me, or made eye contact, no smile. very rude. Once they decided who would check me out, the young lady starred ringing up my items, again, no eye contact or greeting.
What bothered me more was the older employee behind her discussing that the store needs to make their daily budget, that it was going to be hard to make the budget. They proceeded to discuss how the rain wasn't going to help the store produce the money it is needed daily. I was apauled. Very unprofessional!
I am a practice manager, this was really hard to watch. If my employees ever behaved this way and had these personal business conversations in front of customers, I would certainly want to know.

I have been working for CATO for a while now, and the management and the upper management is very dismissive and rude. On several occasions, my store manager had been complained on to the District Manager and corporate for her intolerable attitude and the way she treated employees, yet nothing was done to her. On several occasions, she has been caught talking about her employees to customers and other employees while on the clock, and when the matter was discussed with the district manager, I was told to not discuss it with anyone until the store manager had time to defend herself. When the policy changed for managers receiving salary, she began clocking out and continuously working while off the clock, this includes processing shipment, filing the paperwork, and waiting on customers.
Recently, the store manager has hired a girl who she has referred to as special on several occasions, and the employee has began calling in multiple times during the week. Instead of terminating the employee and replacing her, the DM and the SM have decided to keep her and not give her but 3 hours in a week. This all while not hiring a new employee this overworking and staring the other employees by only giving them one day off and scheduling them for several 12 hour shifts during the week. Not to mention, requesting off is a job in itself. The policy states only 2 weeks advance is required for any personal time or paid time off, but even if you request off months in advance the manager still will not grant you this time off and will not discuss the denial of the request with you, leaving you with no time to make other arrangements or reschedule your plans. Also, she will not send your request to the proper upper management member for approval, leaving all decisions up to her.
This store manager has a ruthless attitude and has had multiple turnovers due to this attitude, yet that is overlooked. Even the DM knows and has acknowledged her bad attitude with the assistant managers, but nothing is ever said to the the store manager. She gets away with everything!

I visit the Versona store #04043 at the Rivergate shopping center, the address is 13540 Hoover Creek Blvd, Charlotte NC 28273. My friend and I came into the store and no one greeted us the entire time we were in the store. There were three people standing in the middle of the floor talking. At least two of them were employees. We were in the store for 20 to 30 minutes. Not once did anyone say can I hep you or anything else. There were others shopping in the store also and no was trying to help them. I finally walk up to them and ask if someone could ring me up. She said, oh yea. I told her that if I did not like the earring, I would not have purchase them because this was the worst customer service I have ever seen. She never apologize for her poor service. Used to love shopping at Cato's in Uniontown, PA, not anymore. The length of the petite pants is long enough to fit someone 6 feet tall way too long for someone 5'2" and shorter. Someone needs to go back to the drawing board to learn what petite sizing is. I'm 5'3 1/2" and your petite pants drag on the floor! Never had this problem til recently. It's not practical to purchase the pants then have to pay for them to be altered.

On Sunday, October 7th at approximately 4:02, I was injured in your store by a clothing sensor. Someone had stuck the sharp pin part in the back of a pair of jeans that I was trying on. In doing so, the pin scratched and stuck in my leg. There was quite a bit of bleeding and I do have pictures of the incident. The salesperson filled out the accident form on the computer that day and sent it in. I went the next day to get a Tetanus Shot at my doctor's office which he informed me that was the right and best thing to do. To this day, I have not heard anything from the Corporate Office. I called Corporate on October 15th and briefly spoke with Ms. Hicks who said they did not have any way of getting in touch with me, although the information was given in the store. I gave her all of my pertinent information and to this day, they still have not called to discuss the situation. I have a permanent scar and had to spend money for the doctor's visit. I made my last call to the Corporate Office this morning, October 22nd and the young lady that answered the phone didn't seem too thrilled and transferred the call to someone's voice mail. I now see what needs to be done.
PLEASE do not mark this resolved, because the company has not taken any steps and they have NOT contacted me at all...

I am from Batesville, AR. I am writing in disappointment that you hired Heather Stice, a new, extremely rude manager. I will not be shopping in this Cato until she is gone. This is a small town and I bet your store sales have dropped drastically since Melissa Schubert left. Might want to look at the store sales when she worked there verses now. I will be driving to the Cato an hour away...Just letting you know that if your sales drop that might be why.

I have been coming to this CATO for years and the other stores near it. When I need something simple or important to wear CATO is my go to no doubt! But unfortunately I have been witnessing lately how the girls there work. It may just be me but everytime I have been going lately the store manager has never been seen working. I always see the others working. I came by yesterday she was with a man the whole hour and a half I was here shopping. I asked her for a fitting room and she sends the other girl to open it for me. She went to back with the man all you hear is loud unnessary laughter. This has not been the first time I see a man here with her. You can ask the other employees. She does not work. Also Sunday 23rd. She opened the store late. The other employee that was already waiting on her as well was apologizing to all the cars that came up. About 5 cars showed and waited and had to leave due to the styore not being opened on time. It's bad customer service and team work if you ask me. I have friends and family that shop here. We would like to see more team work with your store manager.

An employee by the name of Sonya (I'mnot sure if thats how its spelled) went through clothes that were in my lailway, and everytime we visit this specific store she goes through our clothes and gives us an attitude. On different occasions she has let another woman get our lailway out because we had the same last name. I don't understand why she singles us out and talks about us to other employees to the point that they don't treat us like they would everyone else.

I went into my favorite store it's metro fashion to find some jeans, I tried the jeans on as I pulled them up I felt a hard stick, I hurried and pulled them down and noticed the security tag was sticking out and it cut my leg.
Immediately told the store manager and the cashier they looked at the jeans, saw the tag sticking out and said someone maybe tried to steal them, And put them back. They took my information and said that someone would contact me within a week. I showed them
That my leg was bleeding, I also took pictures and showed the store manager and assistant manager who was there at that time.
They didn't give me any corresponding information, although I asked for some. The assistant assured me someone Would call.
Two weeks went by no word from the company so I called and left a voicemail for a lady in risk management who advised me they closed the case because I was ok. She did advise that the report showed that I informed I was ok to the store personnel.
We never had a conversation about my health besides me showing them I was Bleeding. The fact that they closed the complaint without contacting me was an awful buisiness decission in my opinion.
I called her back and left a voicemail advising I was going to contact my attorney due to lack of concern, and the fact that I actually have a permanent scar on my leg from that cut!
Life threatening or not the company didn't even care to check up on the customer.
I call that negligent. I am a frequent shopper of that store, the location on Tidwell and Any and al Cato stores. I've shopped at Cato in Crockett, TX and in Desoto, TX.
The risk Management adviced me she would contact the insurance department and Christie Gallagher called me 8/8/18 @ 12:42 she advised she was available between 9-3 pm Eastern Time. I have called her back everyday since that day and left several messages and no reply. It has now been two weeks and one day. It's extremely unprofessional of her who represents such a large corporation. As well as the store managers who falsified my information to them. I would recommend them to be released from their positions.

Visited Cato Fashions at McCain Plaza on Thursday, August 16, 2018. The cashier was very nice and pleasant. Her cashier # is 102. However, when my purchase would not charge to my Cato credit card, another cashier (manager, I'm not sure) walked over to assist. She (a blond woman) made a couple of attempts and the two spoke between themselves about the issues they sometimes have with Cato cards. Finally, it worked and the other cashier (the blond woman) stated, "That's why we prefer customers use debit cards, " before walking away. She said it in a snappy way that just really rubbed me the wrong way. Really? The reason I have a Cato credit card is because cashiers would bug me every time I checked out at the register about getting one. I just thought it was unprofessional on her part. What she said might be true, but to say it in front of a customer was tacky. It's not my fault they've got a crappy machine. And whether I choose to use a debit or credit card is my business. I'm going to cool off Cato for a while. There are more choices for plus-size women now. There's an awful taste in my mouth when I speak their name now.

I gave always loved your stories. I've loved the style, sizes and you great store associates! No matter what store I visit the associate's take pride in there work! Recently I had a personal experience with your company and was privy to your associates wages. I don't know how as a company if you plan to excel if you don't pay your associates wages they can live on. In a time where site stores are closing down right and left you would think you would invest in the area of your company that makes Catos what it is!
Minimum wage is not an acceptable requirement to survive in today's state of expenses.

I am very dissapointed in the way that this branch treats their employees in regards to requests off. If a time-off request has been submitted well in-advance due to being out of the state for a prior commitment, the employer should honor that instead of scheduling the employee on said days off. This only makes it harder later when trying to find a last minute substitute and when no one is available making the employee work those scheduled off day(s). Please treat your employees appropriately and with respect. I will not be shopping at this store again in the near future.

I walked in to the store and I was greeted. As normal. When I asked one o the employees to help me she had her phone out and earphones in her ear. I figured she would take them out but she continued to put the ear phones in her ear. I do not appreciate that at all. I felt ignored. I have worked at a clothing store and we would never let that happen. I asked the lady ringing me up her name and she said she was a manager and that she will tell her that she has to put it away. I have shopped at Cato for years and never had this happen.
