A Mix of Experiences - Chain Reaction Cycles
As someone deeply invested in the cycling world, I understand the importance of reliable service and quality products. Looking at the reviews for Chain Reaction Cycles, it's clear that customers have had a mix of experiences. Some have praised the prompt delivery and trouble-free service, while others have expressed frustration over issues like delayed shipments and damaged items. It's essential to consider these varied perspectives when deciding to shop with Chain Reaction Cycles. As a potential customer, it's wise to weigh the positives and negatives shared by fellow cyclists to make an informed decision that aligns with your needs and expectations.
Excellent service
Have bought many cycle parts from here and have always arrived on time and well packaged. Recently bought two tyres but one had a slight dent in the steel bead. They immediately said they were sorry and offered an immediate replacement. That is how you look after your customers. Just also bought some more parts and they were better packaged than the bike i bought from that terrible company tredz.in all chainreactions is a great company and highly recommended.
Excellent service
After making a purchase of a few items with chain reaction and getting a ?10 discount, I started reading reviews, which got me worried. I paid for 4 day delivery, after checking my on my order on day 2 it still stated processing which got me more worried even if I was going to receive my items, so gave them a message on live chat, they responded instantly and reassured me my item would be here within the time scale. The next day I had a knock at my door it was the hermes courier with my order a day earlier than expected, all correct and packaged perfectly. A service.

Good experience, maybe I got lucky
Ordered a Marin rift zone 2 with a discount including all duty and postage paid to California. I was worried about all the negative reviews but took a chance. Ordered June 27 and arrived July 5 via DHL (I also Tracked it the whole way). When it arrived I was extremely worried that they sent me the lower spec'd Marin Rift Zone 1 due to the box being labeled as such and not the Rift Zone 2. Opened it up and was extremely relived that they did in fact shipped
Me the correct bike and model. Bike was packed well with good protection. The bike shifts and operates well. Took a chance and either I got lucky or management has stepped it up.
Seems good so far
Just ordered from the for the first time. Went this way as Amazon is out of control and is definitely not the cheapest route to buy anything any more by far. They were about $40 cheaper for two items, a stem and handlebar. On the first order, you get $20 off over $100 spent. I eclipsed that amount but didn't see that discount until after I made the purchase. They applied the discount afterwards and refunded the $20 back. Only thing that could go wrong at this point is shipping time since customer service is 10/10 and price is 10/10. I paid a little extra to have it expedited so if anything goes awry I will come back and report but otherwise it seems all good.
Great Experience
I ordered a Vitus Sentier VR 29 from CRC on Jan. 7,2020 and it arrived in Florida today, on Jan. 12 from DHL. Considering it's coming from the UK and it's Covid times, that's pretty impressive. It was very well packed and assembly took literally 10 minutes. The dropper post was already installed, so I just had to put on the front tire and screw on the pedals. Shifted perfectly right out of the box and everything was installed correctly.
I didn't have to deal directly with their customer service because everything went smoothly so I can't speak to that. It came with a QC check list with the employee's name who assembled and checked the bike, which is quite nice. Also came with a few little bonuses like reflectors, a bell, tube patches, and a multi-tool.
Based on my experience, I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews. I would definitely order from CRC again.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Unrideable Bike and Poor Customer Support
I recently purchased a mountain bike from Chain Reaction Cycles and unfortunately, I had a less than satisfactory experience. Upon receiving the bike, I noticed that the gears were completely out of whack and the bike was unrideable. This was a major disappointment as I was excited to take my new bike out for a spin.
To make matters worse, the stem of the bike was scratched in two places and a dust cap was missing. Additionally, the bike only came with a spanner and no other tools or accessories. I was surprised to learn that this was supposedly checked during the PDI.
When I reached out to live chat support for assistance, I was frustrated to find out that I had to provide additional personal details before they would answer my question about the courier for returning the bike. It made me feel like a criminal and I was not happy about the extra work I had to do just to get a simple answer.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Chain Reaction Cycles. While I understand that issues can arise with any purchase, the fact that the bike was unrideable out of the box and the lack of proper tools and accessories was a major letdown. I will be hesitant to purchase from the Wiggle-CRC Group again in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Slow Delivery and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with Chain Reaction Cycles. I ordered a new saddle because the rails on my old one had broken, and I gotta give them credit, they dispatched my order pretty quickly. But then things started to go downhill.
The courier they used, Hermes, had my order for five whole days in transit. And then, when it finally got to my local depot (which was only twenty miles away!), Hermes cancelled the delivery three days in a row. They kept telling me my order was due to be delivered at a certain time, but then they just wouldn't show up.
So, I contacted CRC to complain, and all they did was offer to contact the courier and ask them what the problem was. They said it could take five days or more to sort out! When I asked them to just cancel the order and send me a replacement so I could get back on my bike, they refused. Apparently, that's not their policy.
I mean, come on, CRC. What happened to good old customer service? My contract was with you, not the courier. I shouldn't have to be inconvenienced because of their failings. Why couldn't you just make me a happy customer and send me a replacement?
It's especially frustrating because their website says they exist to deliver a world-class shopping experience to cyclists around the globe. They promise the lowest prices and fast delivery with no fuss. But that's not what I experienced at all.
It's been over a week now, and I still don't have my saddle. I'm pretty disappointed, to say the least.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Poor Communication and Stock Management
I recently had an experience with Chain Reaction Cycles that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had ordered a bike and pedals through their website using the CycleScheme, which is a great way to save money on cycling gear. However, I soon received an email saying that the bike I had ordered was not actually in stock, only a different size. It was already 7:00 at night, so I had to wait until the next day to respond.
When I got back to them, I said that I would go for the larger size, but after doing some research, I realized that it wouldn't be suitable for me. I asked them to cancel the order before redeeming the CycleScheme voucher, but I didn't hear back from them until it was too late. They had already redeemed the voucher and sent the bike to the wrong address, along with the pedals which were being delivered separately.
I was lucky enough to catch the bike delivery before it arrived at the wrong address, but I was still left with the hassle of sorting out what to do with the CycleScheme voucher. It was frustrating to deal with a company that didn't seem to read their emails properly or keep their stock up to date on their website. It was also strange that they sent the pedals separately, rather than including them in the same box as the bike.
Overall, I would say that my experience with Chain Reaction Cycles was not a positive one. If you're looking for a new bike, I would recommend using a different supplier who is more reliable and responsive. It's a shame, because I had heard good things about Chain Reaction Cycles before, but my experience has left me feeling disappointed.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: In-Stock Items Cancelled Without Notice
I recently had an experience with Chain Reaction Cycles that left me feeling quite frustrated. I had spent a lot of time searching for the perfect sports training shoes on their website, and finally found two pairs that I thought would be perfect for my loved ones as Christmas presents. The website advertised that they were in-stock, so I went ahead and placed my order, adding on some sports socks to go with the shoes.
A few days later, I received an email saying that my order had been part-dispatched. I was confused, as I had expected the entire order to arrive together. I reached out to the company to ask why this had happened, and they told me that one of the items had been cancelled due to "fulfilment" reasons. They didn't specify which item, but I later found out that it was one of the pairs of training shoes.
A few days after that, I checked on the progress of my order and saw that the second pair of trainers had also been cancelled without any notification. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated, and reached out to the company again for an explanation. They apologized and blamed "fulfilment" reasons once again, and offered me a 5 British Pound e-voucher as compensation.
I still don't understand why my order was cancelled, especially since the website had advertised the items as being in-stock. It's possible that the company orders their products from illegal Chinese manufacturers, which is definitely concerning. I would advise others to be cautious when ordering from Chain Reaction Cycles.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Size Availability and Customer Service Issues
I gotta say, I had a bit of a rough time with Chain Reaction Cycles. I was stoked to find a good deal on a pair of shoes I needed, but when I went to order them, things got a bit wonky. See, I wear a size EU51, which can be tough to find, but the website only had sizes up to EU49. I figured it had to be a mistake, so I reached out to tech support.
The guy I talked to told me that they've been working with Shimano for years and that they don't distribute any of their goods outside of Europe. But I live in Ukraine, which is definitely in Europe, and we have plenty of Shimano stuff here. I even found the same shoes on their website, but with sizes up to EU49. The tech support guy just told me to use my local website and closed the ticket without really helping me out.
So I tried to order the shoes to my friend's address in GB, but my payment got refunded and the order was cancelled twice without any explanation. And then, to add insult to injury, I got an email asking me to review the shoes I never even received. I tried to leave a review, but it got rejected because it "mentions customer service issues, was written lacking personal experience, is vague or needs more detail."
I mean, they say that my opinion is important to them and to the Chain Reaction Cycles community, but it sure doesn't feel like it. I've got all the logs and stuff to prove that this all really happened, so I'm not just making it up.
Chain Reaction Cycles Review: Appalling Customer Service and Significant Mistakes
I've been shopping at Chain Reaction Cycles for quite some time now. However, I've noticed that their quality of service has gone downhill in recent years. But my most recent experience was so shocking that I've lost all faith in the group and will never shop with them again.
I ordered a ROAD wheelSET from FULCRUM, but what I received was a MOUNTAIN WHEEL (notice the singular) from HOPE. I was so baffled by this significant mistake. I contacted CRC, but it took them 3 days to reply to me. And when they finally did, their options were not what I wanted. They offered me a refund or to keep the mountain bike wheel. But you can probably appreciate why I don't want a single mountain bike wheel for my road/cx bike.
I couldn't believe how incompetent their customer service was. And to make matters worse, they had sold out of the wheels I ordered. So because of their mistake, I now cannot get the wheels I specifically needed. I needed these wheels in time for the end of CX season. And since it has now been almost a week since my order, with no wheelset in sight, my race plans are in tatters.
Their phone number simply diverts to a message to contact the website, and their web service is appalling. I still can't believe how appalling the customer service has been, and the complete lack of insight at their mistake. It's a shame because CRC used to be a good company, but now they are just a bargain bin of appalling service. If you look at other review sites, you will find so many poor encounters like mine. Their Twitter is full of people tweeting at them with similar issues.
I will happily pay more for an item to avoid using CRC. And as it turns out, Wiggle owns them now, so I will have to stop using Wiggle too. Shame on you CRC. Shame on you.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Poor Dispatch Process and Unhelpful Customer Service
I recently had an experience with Chain Reaction Cycles (chainreactioncycles.com) that left me feeling quite dissatisfied. I had ordered three items from them, but only one of them arrived as part of the delivery. The other two items did not arrive, even though I had received a dispatch notification email with a tracking number included.
I tried to check the tracking number with the delivery company, but they had no record of it. I then attempted to contact CRC through their chat system, but it was usually unavailable or busy. When I finally got through, it took a long time to progress in the queue.
Eventually, I was able to speak with a CRC operator who told me to fill out a 'lost in the post form'. However, the form was in a proprietary format that I was unable to open. The next day, the operator sent the form as an email, and I completed it. However, I did not receive a prompt response, and when I emailed a status enquiry the next day, the same operator told me that the form was not filled in correctly because I had not signed it.
I explained to the operator that I was only temporarily at this address and had no access to a printer or scanner. I also sent him the original dispatch email I had received from CRC with the item tracking number, as well as a link to the delivery company's tracking facility where CRC could verify that they had not dispatched the item at all. However, I received no response from CRC.
The whole episode was very frustrating and aggravating for me. Although the items in question were not of great financial value, I learned that CRC's dispatch processes are problematic, and they do not seem to understand their own dispatch process. Additionally, CRC has zero interest in resolving the problems that it causes, and their staff is unhelpful and slow to respond.
Overall, I would not recommend using Chain Reaction Cycles. Their customer service is lacking, and they seem comfortable with alienating their customers.
Chain Reaction Cycles: A Reliable Source for All Your Bicycle Needs
Me, like many cyclists, love the freedom and independence that comes with biking, especially when touring. I've been pedaling for over 40 years now, and my mechanical skills have improved significantly over the years. But having the right tools, parts, and shop personnel are just as important. I used to purchase from BikeNashbar for over 30 years, but the company was purchased and dissolved into another while I was overseas on my "My World Upon Wheels/reTIRED World (Bike)tour". So I was in desperate need of a new reliable source to complement my fantastic Crazy Cat-Airport shoppe/techs. That's when I found CHAIN REACTION CYCLES (CRC) after some internet searching.
My first order of tubes, rotors, and kit went through very smoothly and arrived perfectly, as promised. I was incredibly impressed, and I knew that I had found what I hope will be a life-long bicycle kit source for me. What sets CRC apart is the product reviews posted along with most items. These reviews are so very important, and I myself am a frequent reviewer (albeit suffering Verborrhea).
Whilst researching SCHWALBE MARATHON TYRES, which have proven the most reliable for me over the past many years, I came across a review by "WYRDVANS". He commented that he didn't think the three mm difference between 700c-32 & 700c-35 was much until he tried it, then added it to his superlative review. It was from his written words that I altered my own CRC order as the situation was nearly identical with my newest ride, an eBikekit-assisted CruzBike. It came fully kitted with 700c wheels, but I have since replaced the rear with a 26 x 1.5, and the front remained 700c-32. After reading the review by "WYRDVANS", I immediately measured the space between the top of my current SCHWALBE MARATHON (700c-32) and knew the fit was too tight. I altered my order for a different same-size SCHWALBE MARATHON tyre.
Without a doubt, I am extremely pleased with CRC, and the fine company has certainly earned my coveted "WHEEL OF APPROVAL!"
Nightmare Experience with CRC: Bike Order Canceled and Money Held for Weeks
Hey, I'm Martin and I just wanted to share my experience with CRC. Honestly, it was a complete nightmare. Here's what happened:
I ordered a new bike and pedals on Monday morning and paid with my card. The money was taken out of my account right away. The next day, I got an email saying that my order had been shipped. But when I read the email more carefully, I realized that they had only shipped the pedals. So I contacted support to ask when my bike would be shipped. They gave me the usual copy-paste response about the bike being prepared, but they also said that the bike had been allocated to my order and would ship in the next few days. This was on Tuesday.
Since I didn't hear anything for a while, I tried to contact them through Messenger. This time, I got a response from CRC Claire, who said the exact same thing as the first person I talked to. Today is Friday, and my order is still showing as "processing" on their website. So I contacted them again, and this time I managed to catch someone on the live chat. But I couldn't believe what the guy, Richard, told me. He said that the bike was no longer available and that they were canceling my order and sending my money back. It would take up to 10 working days for the money to appear in my account. And if I hadn't told Richard that the amount was incorrect, he wouldn't have sent me the shipping fee back (which was EUR 120).
So now, I have the pedals for a bike that I won't be getting, they've had my money for over two weeks, and their website claims that they only have 5 of the bikes in stock and that I should order soon. It all seems like a total scam to me, a way to make money off of customers without actually having the bikes in stock.
Supposedly, I'll be getting an email from Richard explaining why he canceled my order due to stock issues, but their website still claims that they have 5 bikes in stock. I'm beyond frustrated. I was looking forward to going on a trail trip with my daughter, and now I don't have a bike (but I do have pedals for it) and I don't have the money I paid for the bike. This was the worst online buying experience I've ever had.
Buyer Beware: My Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles
I recently made a big purchase on Chain Reaction Cycles, spending over $3000.00 in my first 18 months as a customer. Overall, my impression of the site was good, so I decided to take the leap and buy a bike. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a BIG mistake. I was hit with massive duty and courier handling fees of 27.2%, which amounted to $860.00. Unless the bike you're looking at is 50% off, you're not getting a deal at all. I should have done more homework before making the purchase.
To make matters worse, their courier DHL was terrible. Communication was lacking, and I spent hours on their website and on phone calls trying to get information. Chain Reaction kept telling me everything was on track, but it was not. I had to repeatedly call DHL to find out what they wanted and from whom. Finally, a third person informed me that in order to move ahead with delivery, I had to sign a Power of Attorney to absolve them of responsibility because the bike was worth over $2500.00. I also had to pay Duty up front, but their own website warned that paying Duty on their site would likely end in paying a fraudulent malware site that had hijacked various common browsers. I had to try different browsers until I finally uploaded Firefox, which did work.
When the bike finally arrived, it was missing a part, had a damaged dropper cable, and the frame (back swing arm) was badly scratched. I had to go to a local bike store and buy a missing seat post collar. They reimbursed me for that, but it was still a hassle. After six or so long conversations back and forth with photo evidence, their Customer Service solution was a 9/10ths of 1% site credit. I paid for a new bike, not a beat-up one. After saying this was unsatisfactory and suggesting instead that they send a replacement frame section that I'd install for free, they altered their offer to include sending a new dropper cable and offered a 1.8% store credit. Throughout, they were polite, stubborn, and condescending because they are in the driver's seat. I eventually gave in because it was obvious they were digging their heels in and it wasn't going to get any better. Now imagine that I have warranty problems in the next year like a cracked frame or anything else for that matter? I'll be SOL. I know that now.
This was my favorite online store before I bought a bike. Now, after buying one, I feel screwed, angry, and insulted. I've unsubscribed from daily emails and communications from Chain Reaction. I actually looked forward to these and bought many times because of their emailed sales notices, but NEVER again. I will never purchase from Chain Reaction again and will dissuade all my contacts from doing so either. It's the only recourse I can take. Just beware that you won't win as the customer if things go sideways. This is my first complaint in hundreds of online transactions, so know that I'm not kidding around. I'm trying to do you a favor before you make a big purchase and possibly an even larger mistake. It's pretty surprising that an online retailer would behave this way in response to legitimate and fair complaints in this day and age and be willing to jettison good customers permanently for an easy buck. I can't recall a single other example I've experienced that was this shabby and frustrating. And now all my mountain biking friends are done with Chain Reaction too because of my experience. So well done, Wiggle, you won... It's back to our local shops and alternative North American online stores.
Update: I received a new cable sent quickly and free of charge. I installed it myself to avoid the onerous process involved in getting a local shop to estimate the work to see if it was within a prescribed amount and then bring it back for the work and then submit receipts for reimbursement. Unfortunately, the black part of the paint job scratches or chips right to the aluminum if you even look at it funny. I've never had paint chip out on previous bikes no matter the battering they took. The paint must be too thick and brittle. Otherwise, the Vitus Escarpe VR Eagle 29 seems to be a very nice but very heavy bike. The buying experience, however, flat out sucked.
June 2019: The Vitus Escarpe 29" VR is a very strong bike. Heavy, at about 38 lbs. for my XL aluminum frame, but it churns up the most brutal hills with its SRAM 1x12 NX Eagle drivetrain. The black paint is very prone to chipping, but the bike is an absolute monster - in a good way. The Minion tires are just the best things going. They rip through the worst bogs and pumped up enough, tear up the dry stuff. My bottom bracket is failing after 15 rides (after reading SRAM install guide we realized it was improperly shimmed) and creaky as hell but replacing the SRAM DUB isn't unreasonable, cost-wise. But it's another $100 to repair my improperly prepped bike. You need the appropriate Park tool and the DUB bracket. This is an extremely capable and beefy bike. I thought it was important to review the very good bike despite the absolute trash buying experience from Chain Reaction.
First hard ride with my self-replaced bottom bracket. Thanks, eBay. Also replaced the super loud, cracking, creaking Nukerpoof seat with my 8-year-old specialized Carve saddle. Finally, silence, perfection. What a great bike when prepped correctly. Too bad it's cost me hundreds of dollars and hours and hours to get it there. I don't blame Vitus. They deserve better representation.
UPDATE: Remember when I said that if the worst happened and I needed warranty help, I was sure I'd be screwed? Well, I was wrong. My 18-month-old frame sheared in half, but then I was in for a pleasant surprise. Both Chain Reaction and Vitus were extremely responsive, courteous, thorough, and helpful when I sent them photos of the failure. They asked some questions, then quickly arranged for DHL to fly it across the ocean at their cost. They quickly appraised the problem and sent me a new front A at no charge, honoring their warranty. The shipping speed was amazing. The failure occurred on June 6th here in Canada, and I rode my reassembled Vitus Escarpe on July 10th. A very good experience that I thought was important to add to my weird bike ownership odyssey. Thanks, Chain Reaction and Vitus. Impressive follow-up service. I've added two stars because of your excellent response to an unfortunate situation. You're back in my good books.

How to use my gift cards now N.I stores are closed
When I retired from work I was given gift vouchers for chain reaction cycles in Belfast. I used some money from the vouchers, but then decided to use the remainder to go towards an e-bike. I went to the Belfast store, who had limited stock but said more would be coming in soon
The next thing I heard was that the store was PERMANENTLY closed. I tried phoning, trying to access their facebook page and website without success
All I want to know, is how or where can I use my balance towards purchasing an e-bike in Ireland.
Claimed loss: Gift vouchers total £425.00
Desired outcome: That i can use my vouchers as part payment towards an e-bike
Confidential Information Hidden: This section contains confidential information visible to verified Chain Reaction Cycles representatives only. If you are affiliated with Chain Reaction Cycles, please claim your business to access these details.
Reach out to Chain Reaction Cycles’ customer service via their online support platform or email, providing your voucher details and explaining the store closure situation. Ask specifically how you can use your remaining voucher balance online or at another store. If no response, check if their online store allows voucher redemption. If not, escalate the issue by contacting their parent company, Wiggle, and insist on a resolution for using your vouchers, especially since the store closure was unexpected. Keep all voucher details handy for a smoother process.
Chain Reaction Cycles Review: Poor Quality Control and Customer Service
So, I recently tried to order some knee pads from Chain Reaction Cycles (chainreactioncycles.com) for the first time. Unfortunately, they never arrived even though they said they were delivered. I contacted CRC and they told me to deal with the shipping handler. It was a huge headache and I never got my money back.
But, being the optimistic person that I am, I decided to give them another chance and ordered some carbon handlebars. They arrived, but I noticed a flaw in the carbon that went all the way through the bars. Unfortunately, I installed the bars before checking them because I'm not the brightest bulb in the box and it was my first experience with carbon. I was disappointed to find out that I couldn't get a refund because the bars had already been installed. F me, right?
Despite my bad luck, I decided to order the same bars again, thinking that it was probably just a fluke that they were damaged. But, to my dismay, the same bars arrived and they were also damaged already. To make matters worse, they came in a weird box with no instructions, stickers, or anything else that the first ones had in the box.
I returned the bars yesterday and I'm hoping to get my money back. Although the prices at CRC are tempting, I don't think I'll be buying from them again. I mean, I don't believe that all three of my purchases going poorly is merely a coincidence.
Overall, I think that Chain Reaction Cycles has some work to do in terms of their customer service and quality control. While I appreciate the affordable prices, I don't think it's worth the hassle of dealing with damaged products and unhelpful customer service.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Invalid Tracking Number and Unexpected Refund
I made an order on Chain Reaction Cycles website 10 days ago. It took a while for them to dispatch my order, which I think was because the item was out of stock, but they didn't provide any information about it. After that, I had no idea what was happening with my order because the tracking number was invalid. I checked it every day on the courier site, but it always said "Our Item Tracking system has not recognized the number(s) that you have entered". I was getting worried, so I contacted the shop's customer service. They told me to wait for a reply from the courier, but I never got one.
Finally, I received messages (separate for every single item) that said: "Good news! We have safely received your returns parcel at CRC HQ and are already getting your refund ready"! I was confused because I didn't return anything, and I had never seen the items before. I lost 10 days (practically 2 weeks) waiting for my order, and I didn't get any explanation at all. I believe the parcel was never sent out, and it looks like a scam. Even if I receive my money back, I had to cancel a big trip that I had scheduled for this week.
I am very disappointed with Chain Reaction Cycles, and I will never order from them again. It's frustrating to lose time and money like this, and I don't want to risk it happening again. I hope they improve their customer service and communication in the future.

Chain Reaction Cycles: A Warning About Their Fake Tracking Numbers and Poor Customer Service
I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty bad experience with Chain Reaction Cycles. I mean, I read some reviews before I ordered from them and I thought maybe it was just a few people having a bad day, but nope. Turns out, they do this thing where they give you a fake tracking number when you return something and then they say it's lost in transit. And you can't even track it because it's a fake number! I checked out their Yelp page and bikeradar and it seems like I'm not the only one this has happened to.
So, I tried to talk to their customer service people and let me tell you, it was like talking to a brick wall. They just kept asking me the same questions over and over again. Like, I already gave you all the info, why do you need it again? And every time I asked about my refund or my product, they just asked me the same questions again. It's like they don't even care about helping you out.
Honestly, I think this is straight up thievery. They're selling products that people returned to them and not giving any refunds, so they can sell it for half price. That's messed up, man. I wouldn't recommend buying from them. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Poor Shipping and Customer Service
I recently had an experience with Chain Reaction Cycles that left me feeling pretty disappointed. As someone who buys a lot of things online, I was excited to order two bikes from them and have them delivered to my home. I paid for shipping and eagerly awaited their arrival.
The first bike showed up a day early, which was a nice surprise. However, a week later, I started to get worried about the second bike. I reached out to the company to inquire about its whereabouts, and after a few days of tracking it down, I learned that it was with a freight company that doesn't deliver to residential addresses. This was frustrating, as the freight company was located two hours away from me, and coordinating a place to meet them was nearly impossible with my work schedule.
To make matters worse, the freight company was incredibly rude to me when I spoke with them. I finally decided to take a day off work to drive to their warehouse to pick up the bike, which was almost two weeks after the expected delivery date. When I arrived, I was shocked to see that the box was destroyed and taped back together with shipping tape. And to top it off, my pedals were missing.
I will say that Chain Reaction Cycles did eventually ship me new pedals, but I wasn't willing to wait another two weeks to ride my bike, so I had to spend an additional $50 on aftermarket pedals from a local bike shop. The worst part of the experience, though, was the way I was treated when I asked why they would use such a terrible shipping company. The customer service representatives were incredibly rude to me and refused to give me any answers until I filed a report. Even then, I didn't receive an apology or any compensation for my wasted time.
Overall, I would say that you get what you pay for with Chain Reaction Cycles and Vitus. While they may be cheap, the customer service and shipping experience leave a lot to be desired. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your bike needs.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Used and Missing Parts Saddle Received as New
I recently purchased two Brooks saddles from Chain Reaction Cycles, one in Honey and one in brown, as gifts for my biking friends. However, my experience with this online store was not a pleasant one. The brown saddle arrived in perfect condition, with the box, backboard, tightening tool, and all the necessary parts. But the Honey saddle was a completely different story. It arrived used, missing the box, board, tightening tool, and with a long mark in the middle of the saddle and a few small dents. There was no packing material to protect it during shipping either. It was clear to me that the Honey saddle was used and missing a few things.
I immediately contacted Chain Reaction Cycles and I am currently waiting for a reply. I hope they will respond soon and resolve this issue. These saddles were meant to be gifts and I cannot give someone a used, missing parts saddle. I know for sure that the Honey saddle is used because the brown one had a strong leather smell upon opening, but the Honey one did not even smell up close.
I am very disappointed with Chain Reaction Cycles for sending a damaged, missing parts, used saddle as new. I have bought one B17 saddle in the past and many of my biking friends have also purchased from them, but this is my first time experiencing such a problem. I hope they will resolve this issue soon, or else I will have to contact Paypal or my credit card company.
In case they try to say that they sent both saddles new, I still have the shipping box. It's so small that it can only fit one saddle box, and the used one was stuffed off to the side. This is unacceptable and I hope they will take responsibility for their mistake and make it right.
Chain Reaction Cycles Review: Missing Accessories, Difficult Returns, and Inconsistent Refunds
I gotta tell ya, my experience with Chain Reaction Cycles was a real bummer. I ordered this sweet carbon wheelset that cost me a pretty penny (over 800 bucks, yikes!), but when it arrived, all the accessories were missing. I'm talking hub adaptors, quick release, rim tape, and carrying bags - all stuff that was supposed to be included according to the product description. So I hit up their customer service and asked them to send me the missing items. But guess what? They couldn't do it! So I decided to return the whole darn thing.
Let me tell you, getting that return set up was a real pain in the you-know-what. I had to go through all these online chats and wait forever for responses. Finally, they arranged for the product to be picked up, and I sent it back. But when I got my refund, it was only about 80% of what I paid! What the heck, man? I sent them a bunch of emails asking for the full amount, but every time I got a response, the amount was different. And it's been over six weeks now, and I still don't have my full refund.
To make matters worse, there's no phone number to call and talk to a real person. All the communication has to be done through online chat or email, which takes forever and is super frustrating. Honestly, I would not recommend buying anything from Chain Reaction Cycles. Sure, you might save a few bucks, but if anything goes wrong with your order, you're gonna be in for a world of hurt. Trust me, it's not worth it.
Poor Customer Service and Delivery Delays at Chain Reaction Cycles
Chain Reaction Cycles is not a company that I would recommend to anyone who needs their items quickly. I recently ordered a pair of shoes from them on Monday, and I paid extra for next day delivery as I needed them for a weekend ride. However, I was disappointed to receive a text from Hermes advising me of a 24-hour delay. I contacted customer services, who refunded my delivery cost and apologised, but they advised me that my delivery would arrive 24 hours late on Wednesday.
I contacted them again by email on Thursday, but I received no response. So, I went on Live chat, and the lady told me that the only option I had was to "keep my fingers crossed" that my delivery would arrive on time. I was shocked by her response, and I felt like they didn't care about my situation at all.
To make matters worse, their courier lost the package, and they refused to refund me at the moment so that I could order another pair in time for the weekend. I requested a manager call back, but that never happened. I was extremely disappointed with their customer service, and I would advise anyone to be very careful when buying from this company if you need anything in a hurry.
To add insult to injury, I received a call back from a manager at 4:30 pm, and they told me that they would not offer a refund until the package was returned. This was too late for me to order an alternative, and I was left without the shoes I needed for my weekend ride. This problem is with their supplier, but I cannot believe that their company policy is that the customer is the one to wait.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Chain Reaction Cycles to anyone who needs their items quickly. Their customer service is poor, and they don't seem to care about their customers' needs. If you need something urgently, it's best to look elsewhere.
Chain Reaction Cycles: A Good Company Gone Bad - Beware of Defective Products and Poor Customer Service
I recently bought a Selle Italia saddle from Chain Reaction Cycles, but unfortunately, it turned out to be defective. I was disappointed because I know that SI products are usually of high quality, but sometimes things can go wrong in the production process. I started to wonder if Chain Reaction buys items that they know are defective at a very low cost and then sells them online, hoping that their customers won't notice or won't do anything about the defect.
After some back and forth, I did receive a credit for the defective item, which I then used to place another order. However, after waiting for 40 days, I still had not received my package, so I decided to make some inquiries. It turns out that CRC had sent my package to a courier that, for some reason, is not delivering to my country, even though it is a UK territory!
When I contacted CRC about this issue, their response was less than satisfactory. They simply told me that the courier would deliver my package when it could, without any indication of how long that might take. I was frustrated because I knew that it could be months, or even more than a year, before I received my package, if I ever did. I requested a credit for the goods I purchased, but they refused to credit my card.
In my opinion, CRC's actions are tantamount to theft. They are not taking responsibility for their mistake and are refusing to make things right for their customers. As another reviewer said, this is indeed "A good company gone bad". It only takes a short time for online retailers to meet their demise when they act like this, so I expect CRC will be gone soon. I would advise anyone considering placing an order with them to think twice.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Wrong Product and Poor Customer Service
I recently made my first purchase from Chain Reaction Cycles for some tubular tires. However, when I received my order, I was disappointed to find that I had been sent tubular clinchers instead. This was a big problem for me as they were not compatible with my tubular rims. I immediately went back to the website to double-check if I had made a mistake, but the description did not mention anything about tubular clinchers.
I tried to initiate an automated return, but was shocked to find out that I would have to pay over $20 for return shipping. This was not acceptable to me, so I decided to send an email to Chain Reaction Cycles to express my concerns. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response until several weeks later on 3/4/20.
When I finally got through to someone via chat, they claimed that they had sent me an email on 2/12/20 explaining that the tires were tubular clinchers. However, I checked all my inboxes, spam, and trash folders and could not find any record of this email. Even if I had received the email, I still believe that the description on the website should have been clearer.
In my opinion, Chain Reaction Cycles should have taken responsibility for their mistake and covered the return shipping cost. Instead, they lost a customer forever. I ended up placing the same order with BikeTiresDirect a few days later for just a little bit more money. The order was perfect, shipped for free, and I received it in just three days. I had none of the hassle of dealing with an overseas company like Chain Reaction Cycles.
Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with Chain Reaction Cycles. I will never waste my time with them again when there are so many other good online retailers out there.
Disappointing Experience with Chain Reaction Cycles: Damaged Bike and Poor Customer Service
I recently purchased a brand new bike from Chain Reaction Cycles and was disappointed with the condition it arrived in. The packaging was not up to par, as the lever had poked through and caused damage to the bike. Additionally, there were chips in the paint that appeared to have been there before the bike was packaged. To make matters worse, the hub had been put together incorrectly and the locking cap was threaded incorrectly, causing the hub to have movement.
Now, I understand that a new bike may not stay in perfect condition forever, but I do expect it to arrive that way. I reached out to CRC to express my concerns and suggested a 10% discount refund to make up for the disappointment of receiving a damaged bike. Unfortunately, they were unable to replace the bike due to low stock levels, which is understandable given the current situation. However, they did offer to pay for the repair of the hub up to ?30 with a receipt, which was impossible for me to provide as I did not want to wait weeks before riding my new bike. They also offered ?80 in vouchers, which was close to what I was expecting, but poor customer care has left a bad taste in my mouth.
I ended up having the hub repaired by a friend, as local bike shops were too busy to take on any more repairs. While I appreciate the effort CRC made to rectify the situation, their poor customer service has made me hesitant to purchase from them again in the future. If there were readily available stock elsewhere, I would have returned the bike and never bought from them again.
Overall, I would caution others to think twice before purchasing a brand new bike from Chain Reaction Cycles. While they may offer a discount, the risk of receiving a damaged bike and poor customer service may not be worth it in the end.
Delivery orderid:CRC6342789203
Hi I placed an order for Hope Tech 3 E4 Mountain Bike Disc Brake Pads On 22 April 2022, the next email I received was to confirm my order with tracking number T00A1A0045927714 on reviving this email I realised my address was wrong. I tried everything I could to contact evri to correct this mistake, they confirmed I needed to contact chain reaction cycles to change this asap, so I did that straight away as the item wasn’t due to be delivered for 3 days. Chain reaction cycles confirmed they would inform Evri. Unfortunately the item still went to the old address. I had to go round there in hope that someone would be in. But unfortunately no one was so I left a note to explain the situation, but still haven’t heard anything back. I’ve done everything I can to try and sort this out. All chain reaction cycles said was they can’t do anything until the item is returned. that is not a acceptable solution as I have no item and no way of getting it back and I’m also out of pocket.
Desired outcome: It would be great if I could be sent a new item, in the hope that the person it was sent to by mistake returns it eventually or by way of a refund so I can buy the item I need again.
customer service and pricing policy
I wish to make a formal complaint regarding the above order, your customer service and policies. I placed this order late one evening then early the following morning found the same item £30 cheaper on your parent company Wiggle. I contacted you immediately however your policy is to price match with vouchers, which I didn't want. Attempts were made to cancel the order however it was not possible. The advice I was given was to refuse delivery, failing that I could return free of charge. I was not at home and delivery was accepted by my neighbour. When I attempted to arrange the return through live chat I was advised it would incur a £20 charge as I had not refused delivery. I was not made aware of this when I attempted to cancel my order and the transcript of the online chat should confirm this. Given my dispute I preferred to speak to someone in person. It took me 2 days to get through to customer services only to be told that unfortunately there was nothing could be done about the charge. I revisited my dispute with another member of staff who eventually agreed to reduce the courier cost to £10, which I accepted reluctantly. When asked if there was anything else I fed-back that if CRC had the same pricing policy as Wiggle this situation could have been avoided. Following this conversation I revisited CRC website and low and behold the item had been reduced to the same price as that on Wiggle. As you can imaging I'm extremely frustrated with the situation, the amount of time it took to to resolve my dispute, the outcome of which I find unsatisfactory and has left me out of pocket. All. of this was unnecessary and avoidable had CRC reduced the price to match that of their parent company Wiggle when I requested it. CRC would have received my business and I wouldn't have been inconvenienced both financially and with the time spent disputing the matter, which has also incurred me telephone costs.
I would appreciate a response to my complaint and hope you can see fit to consider some form of remuneration for my inconvenience.
Regards
Ruth Pryce
customer service
I have purchased products in the past from Chain Reaction with no issue however the last order was a disaster. It takes an issue with this company to really find out what they are all about. My order qualified for free shipping and I selected the longest time interval (10-12 days via mail Canada Post) which induces the least amount of cost since it is not expedited. Typically when Canada Post is used there are no extra charges. If a courier like DHL, UPS or FedEx are involved their border brokers will definitely add extra charges. For example my order was for $147.00 of merchandise and the extra charges totalled $47.92 due to DHL's involvement. Obviously a $47.00 charge on $147.00 would not be worth the online purchase. So the question to Chain Reaction is why did they involve DHL when previous orders did not with the same shipping option requested. Chain Reaction customer service would not answer this question and would not acknowledge their mistake. One of the items was not as advertised so I went on their site and followed through with their return procedure. Turns out it would cost $20.00 to return a $35.00 item (liner for shorts) that weighed nothing and could be sent in a envelope. So there system creates automatically a return shipping costs that would eliminate the feasibility to return an item. Best to avoid using Chain Reaction there are many better online companies.

You have got a bike back at your store since more than 10 days.
My son, who is 17teen still have no money on the account.
Next step it will be to make it public and complain further with legal action included.
I would say that this company orders it's ©/fake/replica& products from illegal Chinese manufacturers
I spent many hours on the internet researching and choosing two pairs of sports training shoes which Chain Reaction Cycles advertised on their site as being in-stock. They were ordered so as to be delivered in time to be given as Christmas presents.
I had read mixed reviews about the company and oh how I wish I had listened to the negative ones! Upon completing my order I added on numerous pairs of sports socks to be worn with the shoes. A few days later I received an email to say that my order had been part-dispatched! I emailed the company to question why only part-dispatched? as they were advertised as being in-stock and would surely arrive as one complete package? A couple of days later they replied to say that an item (but did not state which) could not be included due to "fulfilment" reasons? and had therefore been cancelled! and that a single delivery package may not occur as items are gathered from many distribution centres and warehouses from around the world. I requested to know which item had been cancelled and was informed of it being one of the two pairs of training shoes! A further couple of days later I checked the progress on my "part-order" to see that the second pair of trainers had been cancelled by the company without any notification! a couple of days later they get back to me to apologise and blame "fulfilment" reasons? and that they were including a complimentary 5 British Pound e-voucher (which can only be spent at Chain Reaction Cycles!). I have had no true explanation of this goods dispatch failure and act of false advertisement. I would say that this company orders it's "copy/fake/replica" products from illegal Chinese manufacturers! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!*******
Have phoned and emailed for two weeks now still no answers or replies over a £3000. Lapierre overvolt that is not working but still guaranteed
