recent technician came out to look at broken oven
said that microwave and oven both had a problem
one had a problem with a control panel the other had a problem with an item
he said he would write up the quote to the provider to have the items that were broken provided

Home Warranty Services
This companies services are DESPICABLE! They have "said" Contractors that don't show up to their appointments. Lie & say they ordered parts & as you wait and wait AND WAIT...Choice does absolutely nothing & then when you call to follow up and/or complain, they simply refer you to an other contractor that does the EXACT same thing. Zero sense of urgency as water, etc., could be permanently damaging your floors! Their services deserve to be SPAT at! It took them over 3 months to repair my A/C & another 3 months for a simple fridge repair. I HATE THEM BEYOND WORDS! Do not EVER invest your hard earned dollars w/this poor excuse for a company. Write & write as many complaints as possible hopefully shutting them down for good! Disgusting, poor excuses that are nothing but highway robbery! Do your research & do NOT ignore these warnings NEVER INVEST WITH CHOICE!
Will not cover a covered repair!!!
Had an air conditioner issue and call the Home warranty company. They sent out a technician and he diagnosed the problem, however, they denied the claim for something that is not even wrong with our unit! We explain to them that we have an estimate in writing and have spoken directly to the technician and we know what the problem is but they have something else listed as the reason why they are denying the claim. Now after a couple of days they want us to wait until next Wednesday to see if they are going to send someone to fix our air conditioner! We know they will not be doing this as we have talked to several people who have done business with choice and apparently they give you the runaround and bounce you from person to person to person until you finally just give up from pure frustration! Not a way to do business! We paid this company in good faith to want our home systems and now we have an issue they are denying it for something that is not even wrong with our unit! Unbelievable! It is 95° weather and we have elderly people in our home and they want them to wait 5 days to get someone on the phone to see what we're going to do about the air conditioning! Unbelievable!
Desired outcome: Our desired outcome would be for the company to stand by its product and pay for what their policy claims they will pay for which is what is wrong with my unit! Not asking for any favors! We just want them to stand by their contract!
Choice is dishonest, ignores appeals and is harrassing
Choice Home Warranty called me on June 28, 2021 about renewing the contract on the home I had sold. They promised me two free months if I took out a contract on my new home. Two free months is common practice for them as I can readily confirm with numerous emails and texts. My contract began one month later on July 28 and should have run until Sept 28, 2022. The later claimed that they only gave me 1 free month and ended it on Aug 28, 2022. They were dishonest, plain and simple. Their take was if I was promised 2 free months, I should have read the contract they sent which stated 1 free month as opposed to taking them at their word. During the contract, I used them one time when my central air conditioner leaked water because the drain line clogged. They denied the claim saying that I had not maintained the system despite the repairman calling them to say I had, in fact, maintained it. I appealed and they assigned Andrew Pierre as my case manager. He sent me an email with an appointment link. I clicked on the link and it came back with Page Not Found. I repeated left voice messages and sent him emails trying to schedule an appointment. He never returned any of them. Eventually I stopped trying because the weasel clause in the contract undoubtedly means they will deny every drain line clog claim unless you can prove you have a maintenance contract with an HVAC company which would mean your HVAC would have double coverage. Finally, after they refused to honor their verbal 2 free month commitment, I told them I wasn't going to renew. They won't take no for an answer. They called me and my wife about daily and emailed me every day. Once they were sure I was ignoring their emails, they sent me one that had 'billing' in the subject. Fortunately I looked at it because it said they were automatically renewing me and switching me to monthly billing. I followed the link to decline. Then they went ahead and did it twice more during the following 2 weeks. I should also mention that they say they offer roofing coverage, but don't bother calling them for anything more serious than some damaged shingles. I had them out for a roof leak at my old house, had to pay their trip charge only to find it wasn't covered and then I had to get a different, more reputable roofer to do the work. At my old house, I also discovered that if your HVAC unit needs major repair, they will keep sending servicemen to your home who won't fix it, but charge a service fee until you finally give up and buy a new HVAC system on your own. Getting a Choice contract because you have an older HVAC system is a huge mistake.
Desired outcome: I don't want anything from Choice Home Warranty. But I do want to warn anyone considering a contract with them that they are a nightmare.
Water heater
I have a home warranty with home Warranty of America. Water heater went out 8/19/22 and they sent a plumber on 8/19/22 who declared it needed to be replaced. The technician they send said to clarify what type of water heater they would send, as he has had numerous issues with some of the units purchased. I called HWA and had to schedule an appointment with my assigned case manager. First appointment available wasn't until 8/24/22. I spoke with my case manager and was told I have 2 options. They can't tell me what brand they buy until they purchase it, but I can pay the difference if there is a different brand I want. I asked what the amount is so I can figure out the difference in price. She said they can't tell me that until they purchase it. Basically, after going back to and forth about how that made zero since that you have to buy something for me to know what a type or even the amount so I can know if i need to pay additional, she agreed to find out and get back to me. It is now 9/1/22 and I have not heard back. When i reach out to HWA, they say I have to schedule an appointment. The first available appointment is 9/8/22. I have already been without a water heater for 13 days, and have to wait another week to even talk to the rep who hasn't reached back out. The email addresses they provide for the rep are rejected. The only way to contact anyone in regards to the issue is to wait for appointment. The process they are running is seems like a total warranty scam. I highly recommend avoiding this business.
Desired outcome: I want a response and to get my water heater replaced.
LG dryer
I Paid for one year home warranty. My dryer broke down a couple of months ago. I called to file a claim.
1st repair ,Sears service tech came out to repair the dryer. he said he repaired the dryer I paid he left. the tech took the entire dryer apart.
2nd repair, same issue not repaired the first time. I called a couple of days later still having the same issue. The tech came back out. This time the service tech replaced some sensors. the tech says all fixed . I didn't have to pay this time because it was a 2nd repair for same issue (no Deductible ) . Thank you for that. that night I tried drying some cloths NOT! SAME CODE SAME ISSUE. I CALLED BACK THE NEXT DAY.
# 3 REPAIR SAME ISSUE !@ Choice Home Warranty scheduled another repair date. That service Tech didn't even go to my house after I took off work again o meet him. the service tech called me and said I called my manager and the manager said This is now a replacement claim so I don't need to go out to your house. The service tech assured me someone would call me to go over the replacement cost since the dryer could not be repaired. the tech said they have done everything the could do ,only option now replacement claim. I turned my care around and went back to work. I waited and waited no call from choice home warranty. I take that back I get a call from them almost every day saying my warranty is going to expire and wants to sell me another warranty.
I called choice home warranty back on Monday Aug 29th . The lady I spoke to said the service tech has not turned anything in from the 3RD to finish the 3RD REPAIR REPLACEMNET CLAIM. She told me she would contact the tech and get the information to complete the claim. she told me to call back Tues Aug 30th. I decided to wait until Friday Sept 2 to call them . Give them a few days to keep their word.
In the meantime Wednesday August 31 today! I get a text telling me I have a SCHEDULED SERVICE APOINTMENT TO FIX MY DRYER ON SEPT 8TH.
WOW WOW WOW !? WHY ? I could not be fixed the first 3 times. I called them again what is going on ? they told me they have done all they can and now its in the replacement claim stage . THE lady ii spoke with today said it has been reopened to start over. Now I have to meet them again take off work again to get the same results . I am sure I will be calling them back telling them its not working. I think they are trying o get to where my policy expires then tell me nothing they can do. I asked to talk to a manager . she said no manager. wow wow wow .
This will be the 4th repair same issue . NOT REPAIRED .

Choice home warranty is the same as home warranty of america. Do not purchase any of their products. What ever you do under no circumstances spend money on this absolutely horrible product that has no customer service, no willingness to fix anything, and every reason to deny your claim. They will send vendors who try to diagnose the problem and when it will cost too much, cancel the service ticket and send (or most likely not show up) another vendor. The entire business model of this company is to take your money and give you nothing in return except a headache, a lighter wallet, and broken appliances. Do not purchase this product

I would like a refund of my contract.
I paid for a 6 year home warranty contract with Choice Home warranty. I live outside a small mountain town and Noone will work for Choice Warranty. They are a pain and contractors have a hard time getting paid. Choice warranty has not fulfilled their contract because they cannot get anyone to do the work either. I called them on July 6, 2022 and as of August 16,2022 they could not find a repairman. I hired my own repairman and because he would not wait around to get an authorization from Choice (which is a long process) they would not pay my bill. No one will deal with that in our area as all repairmen are extremely busy! Another time they sent a supposed repairman who took my service call payment and never returned - no work done. They will not refund my money or fulfill my contract.
Air Condition
We filed a claim in May with Choice Home warranty about our Air Conditioning not working and spent over $800 for Freon beginning of May Choice Home Warranty pick the company to come out. You are at their mercy when they want to come out or when they decide to showed up first of June. Then 2 weeks into July after continuing phone calls after phone calls no result because Choice Home Warranty stated they never got paperwork from Prestons Prestige Heating & Cooling this has gone on 4 months of lies and run around not returning our phone calls.
Why would i want this company to come take care of my needs when it took them months to get out to my home and then another month to send paperwork to Choice Home Warranty ( Choice Home Warranty stated). Still No results.
They want us to pay $550 and they negotiated costs with technicians. NON covered items duct, copper, drain, electric to support new equipment.
Desired outcome: What I would like to come out of this mess The air-condition to be replace not rebuilt or $1910 that was first mentioned plus $65 for the service call fee.

JUST CHECK BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! Don't waste your time! I signed up for choice home warranty over a year ago and everything was great in the beginning. I signed up for the 5 year plan and all was well. The first year they were on point, always getting back to me and getting the job done. Now I don't know what is going on there. My shower faucet needed to be changed and I called choice, they sent someone who took my set fee of $65 and said home warranty won't cover it. I figured it was my first problem with the company so I let it go. Then my water heater started leaking, I called choice home warranty and they sent someone out. I paid the $65 just to be told they don't have the part needed to fix my water heater and there would be a delay in getting it. I spoke with choice and they told me to get a plumber on my own and they'd reimburse me. The total was $350. This was almost 8 months ago and they still haven't paid me back. Everytime I call I am sent from person to person. I have been told a bunch of times that they sent the check out but it's been returned. Now I don't know much about USPS but come on! 2 times I have verified my address with them. Numerous times they have told me" we sent your check out, it should be there in 2-4 weeks." I have been treated like crap from their "manager." Nothing but the run around from these people. Don't waste your time with these thieves!

Home repair
I contracted with this agency about 3 months ago. In July I had an exhaust fan go out in my attic. Choice warranty picked a vendor and appointment date without telling me his arrival. He did not show up. They picked a second vendor, he did not show up. They picked a third vendor who show up but said they were only there for diagnostic. I told them the problem about a disabled wife and high temperatures in the house but they said they need approval from Choice Warranty before they could fix it within another week. I declined to let them in the house as they did not seem capable of making the repair at that time. A forth vendor was sent out and he made a diagnostic and said he had to get authority to repair it and buy parts and could not return for another week. I never herd from him again.
I called Choice Warranty 4 times to get the fan repaired. They said they would call back in an hour. They did not and I had to make second calls to get a vendor to come back. After 4th vendor came out I decided to cancel the policy as Choice Warranty had 4 weeks to fix the problem. Being an electrician my self, I fixed the problem in 45 minuets and I am 80 yrs old climbing around an attic at 115 degrees to make my wife comfortable. Choice warranty has not called back since.
I am contacting my bank to file a fraud Non service complaint and to cancel the credit card payment.
Desired outcome: Full refund of the months left on the contract a specified I can cancel at any time. An apology for the bad service to my wife who suffered

Good evening, I Ms. Eva Moore-Warren have called Choice Home Warranty numerous times for several months about the oven and the refrigerator and now they say they won't reinbust me for the refrigarator after I have talk with several of your supervisor whom we came to an agreement and she said they were reinbusting me for the refrigerator. Kindly honor your decision and forward the payment so we can move past this thankyou.

Bathtub drain repair
On May 18, 2022 I placed a claim with CHW about the drainpipe on my bathtub coming loose from the drain in the bathtub. I had been out of town for several weeks due to the cancer diagnosis and death of my sister who lived in Arizona. When I returned home I discovered that water from the tub was draining under the house because of the drainpipe being unattached. Filed my claim, and was told they would find a technician and send him to me as soon as possible. I was assigned an agent and did not hear from him. On 5/23/22, I posted to their website that I had not heard anything from anybody at CHW. It was posted on the same website on 5/25 that a technician had been assigned to the claim and would be at my house on the same date between 3 - 8. I was home and no one showed up, contacted CHW and was told that I had been given the wrong info and the appt was for 6/1, 3 - 7. No one showed up, contacted CHW and rescheduled, again they did not show up. CHW did not assign another tech until 6/20. On 6/21, received a call from what I assumed to be a supervisor, apologizing for the delay and offering their
reimbursement policy. That mean I pay for the plumber to come out and fix my drain and they reimbursement me within 60 days. Well, I am a widow in my 70's on a fixed income and it is not in my wheel house to be able to make those kind of payments, which is why I have a home warranty. So I declined and did not hear anything from anybody until 7/5 when another technician was assigned to the claim. An appt was made for 7/7 between 3 - 7 no one showed again. Contacted CHW another appt set for 7/14, 7 - 11. Tech showed up, I paid my $85.00 he said he would call me as soon as CHW approved repair. He had my money and I never heard from him again. CHW reassigned the claim to another company, they also never showed for any of the scheduled appointments. So here we are on 8/23,2022 and my bathtub can still not be used and has never been fixed. I have called and called both the claim adjusted and what I assume is his supervisor and left messages, have posted on the website several times and have not received any return messages or calls from anyone. Basically, they are ignoring me. What do I do now? Any suggestions?
Desired outcome: Either my bathtub is fixed as soon as possible, or I am reimbursed my out of pocket expense and the last 3 months of premiums I have paid and cannot get anything, not even a phone call, from this company.
Air Conditioner - Compressor Failure on Unit Installed 2016
Contracted with Choice Home Warranty for a 7-year plan to cover home and appliances. Has 2 issues recently - dishwasher that was not repairable and AC unit with compressor that failed. With the dishwasher the company advertises they will replace the unit if is cannot be repaired. This is FAR FROM THE ACTUAL TRUTH of what they do. They give every reason they can and then offer you a very small amount ($230 in this case) to replace a stainless steel dishwasher unit. Then the AC (Goodman unit installed when home was built in 2016) had a compressor failure and Choice Home Warranty states it is beyond normal operation and they will not cover the cost to replace compressor or unit. Asking that I file an appeal to discuss further and continuously giving us a run around while we are burning up in the heat of the summer. They could care less about what issues you are having. DO NOT BUY a home warranty plan from CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. There are so many things they use to keep from paying out on claims that it is truly a company that takes your money and then gives you substandard support.
Desired outcome: Choice Home Warranty should replace the dishwasher and the AC unit just as they stated when selling me the multi-year agreement.

They have assigned the work to a contractor that came out and made the ice maker worst. They then have been trying to re-assign the claim and its been well over a week, this is unacceptable very bad business. There are an extreme amount of appliance contractors in my area and they want me to find them and then get reimbursed, well no, they need to find the contractor to complete the job. I have called several times to Choice and the reps all say the same thing and will not let me speak to a manager etc, so i would love to speak with the owner as well and they will not let me do so.

ac stopped working filed a claim choice could not find a service that could not come out withen 24 hrs. informed me I could get my serviceman and they would reimburse me he inspected unit and said the compressor was locked up when he disconnected compressor connector breaker held . service tech would not work with insurance next choice sent another tech to inspect unit when he reset breaker it would not hold he then stated there was a surge . at that time he did not know we have a whole house surge protector on his report he also said there was burnt freon .how he knew this is remarkable he never opened anything on ac unit or freon lines choice home warranty only does hard sales with no one to work with them and will not send a reputable person to inspect problem total waste of money and time never trust a choice home warranty rep or sales person

My refrigerator broke down July 10. Choice had a service man come out and he diagnosed the problem was the control box in the fridge and requested it to be ordered. Now, August, 21, and my refrigerator is still NOT fixed. I have called Choice several times. The original tech stopped working with the company as he claims they haven't paid him for hours and parts for over two months and he refused to do work with them any more. I have called Choice and they keep saying, "your tech will be in touch with you within 24 hours". It has been 6 weeks! This is not the first time they have done this to me. I refuse to do business with them ever again. If I could get my money back, I would.

The denial to cover a claim I submitted
On [protected] I placed a claim because my A/C went out. I learn the next day that my claim had been denied.
Two weeks prior (8-4-22) I had renewed my home warranty with them. I renewed to months prior to my old contract running out because they were running a special. My renewal contract does not go in effect until 10-2022.
I advised them if they were not going to take care of my A/C unit then I was going to cancel my renewed contract since it does not go in to effect for two months.
Now I'm getting their voice mail. It is obvious they are trying to avoid my calls. I want to cancel my contract and get a refund.

Behind the Washing machine
I have been a Choice Home Warranty customer since 2020. I put in an order that when I washed clothing the water would come out and my kitchen sink would fill up. That was as much information that I thought I needed to give. When the technician came he had the compliant and said that I needed a Plummer. I dont think it is fair and I dont have the funds to put in another work order to pay another 85.00. When I contacted the Choice Warranty agent, without being argumentative at all, I got the run around and that they would look into seeing if I could have the plummer to come out. The sears agent continued to say that I probably would not have to pay again, but that was so he could get paid. This is the second time that I had to pay twice. As the consumer I dont suppose to know everything about the appliances and it needs, that is why I completed as much detail in the allowed box. This means with any of the applainces that the company covers, the consumer will be cahrged this fee if they Diagnose the wrong thing. We are not the experts. I felt like something could have been done to rectify this situation. I recieved a email with a 85.00 REPAIR RECIEPT, what repair? I think that this company is taking advantage of people.
