Had a scheduled appoinment at Tunkhannock Auto Mart for recall repair.
Dropped vehicle off for repair and received a call that they didnt have all parts so they couldnt complete repairs. Truck was due for state inspection so my husband told them to do inspection since it was there. Later received call that the truck had to have inline fuel filter replaced to pass inspection so my husband told them to replace it. Picked up truck late afternoon and bill was $577.61
I checked online for pricing on filters and they ranged from $30-85 for exact filters. Checked other local dealerships and was quoted $125 per filter x2 for cost of ~$250 plus tax. I called Tunkhannock Auto Mart and they responded that Chrysler sets the price, I feel they overcharge the customer. They also tagged on an additional "customer pay shop charge for repair order" of $10.95. I asked what that was about and they told me its for the little extras they do when servicing that they don't charge customer for! Is this a joke?
Oh and why did they keep a scheduled appointment for recall if they didn't have parts. I might note Chrysler rarely has parts available for their recalls at time of notice.
Desired outcome: You tell me what your idea of good customer service is.
