Dodge ram diesel def system repair
Ram DEF system nightmare
Recently I got a warning on my 2018 Dodge Ram dash board screen , that there was a problem with my ABS system so I scheduled an appointment with my Dodge dealer .
Prior to departing for the dealer I topped off the DEF system with Valvolene DEF .
On the way to the dealership my check engine light came on , so when I turned my truck in for service , I. Informed them of the service light problem as well as the ABS system problem.
I purchased an extended warranty in 2019 upon buying my used 3/4 ton Dodge Ram Diesel .
After the dealership having my truck over a week and a half , with no status report ,I called to check on the progress they were making on it.
The answer I received was they were waiting on a part for the ABS , however the engine warning light after their diagnosis with their computer told them the DEF system needed to be checked out.
Upon further inspection they said the system’s DEF was contaminated and had destroyed several components in the system
and the cost to repair was an estimated $4100 and it was not covered by my extended warranty !
They told us most auto insurance usually pay for this .
After asking our auto insurance if they covered this and hearing they don’t ,
I became very upset , after Dodge had me over a barrel ,so I agreed to have the repairs done .
I know for a fact that I’m the only one to add DEF to my truck .
I asked them if they sent the contaminated DEF to a lab and they said they had no way of doing that .
I personally missed the boat on not having them not save a sample for me to have analyzed .
Supposing or assuming the contaminate was Diesel can not be confirmed without a lab report .
For all I know the DEF I put in its tank could have been contaminated and they could have found this out for me .
For a fact I was never shown the bad fluid or the diagnostic computer read out stating the problem .
Desired outcome: Reimbursement in part or full , because dealership didn’t have contaminated DEF annualized by lab to determine the contaminant.Which would possibly saved me this expense

Chrysler Capital and Don Miller Dealership in Madison, Wisconsin
In October of 2021 I purchased a 2022 Ram Power Wagon from Don Miller Dodge Dealership in Madison Wisconsin. I traded a 2014 F250 King Ranch for a value given of $22,500 and also paid $10,000 cash. The vehicle was financed by Chrysler Capital. The next month, because I was only given a 30 day temp tag, and because the dealership did not wish to register the vehicle for me in the state of Louisiana, I was given a red folder, and was assured that "everything I needed to register and pay the taxes for the state of Louisiana was in the folder"...including a copy of the registration application and a certificate of ownership. I tried several locations in the month of November 2021 in Louisiana to get my vehicle registered. Finally, the Louisiana Dept of Motor Vehicles informed me that...
A...the registration application had been altered by the dealership and the State of Louisiana would not accept it and...
B...The certificate of ownership was not a document the state of LA found useful.
I was informed that a copy of the paper title, front and back, could be used in lieu of the registration application.
I contacted Chrysler Capital for assistance.
At first it was a merry-go-round of phone calls with Chrysler Capital in order to finally get in contact with someone who seemed like they could assist. I was informed that the State of Wisconsin generates a digital encrypted title that is
sent to a 3rd party that has the ability to open the encrypted file, generate the paper title, and then the title would be sent to Chrysler Capital. The lady, Robin, from the Executive Office of Chrysler Capital, said that when the title arrived, they would scan the title and send it to me via email. The entire time late fees and interest were increasing by the day by the State of Louisiana, and I warned Robin that if this wasn't resolved, the amount would be quite large. Months went by and I didn't hear from Chrysler Capital. I emailed Robin for an update, and she called me back, stating that the title had been lost. At this time I told her that this issue was not a result of my incompetence, and that I was not going to be responsible for the penalties and interest. Robin assured me that, with a receipt, Chrysler would absorb the Penalties and Interest. Meanwhile I am riding around my hometown with and expired temporary tag and couldn't accept any projects out of town for work in fear of being pulled over and fined. I was instructed by Robin to file for a lost title through the state of Wisconsin so that the process could begin again. I begged the dealership for help on several occasions, begged for help from my local Dodge Dealership as well to no avail. Finally on August 5th of 2022 Robin called to say that the duplicate title had arrived and was in the process of scanning and emailing the title image to me. I printed the copy off, rushed to the Louisiana DMV, and was able to obtain registration with a license plate.
The DMV informed me that the Registration Certificate was also a receipt. I scanned the registration certificate and emailed Robin a copy. Robin informed me that this wasn't adequate proof of purchase. I called the Baton rouge main office of DMV and 2 separate employees and they both confirmed that they do not accept checks for taxes and that it is a cash transaction. They both stated that the Registration was also a receipt.
The late fees and interest totaled over $1,400.
Desired outcome: Loss of work compensationMental anguish and stress compensation...I have been suffering chest pains and have been unable to engage in sexual relations with my partner.Reimbursement of the Penalties and Interest
2019 Dodge Grand Caravan GT "Hood Rusting"
I had owned 3 Dodge Grand Caravans, and this is the 1st one I have ever had issues with. The hood is rusting under the paint. This Van is only 2 years old and kept very clean. The dealer told me that it was not sealed correctly from the factory. I feel that Chrysler/Dodge need to pay & fix this.
Please let me know how Chrysler will rectify this.
Thank you. Robin Royston
Desired outcome: Chrysler/Dodge Fix the rust /repaint the hood and seal it properly.
2016 Chrysler Town and Country
Our 2016 Chrysler town and country is experiencing the common rocker arm situation. We did not know about this issue until researching the symptoms and then finding out about the class action lawsuit. We called the main customer service and tried to get help getting this covered. The caller was adamant about us getting a diagnostic. We advised we are a 1 car family and 1 income family. She said she would have a supervisor calls back after further questions. We go to get a diagnostic and the guy then says if we even suspect it’s the rocker arm it will be 700 to take it apart and then 700 to just put back. We said “you told us there was a $150 diagnostic fee.” To which the manager replies well since you think it’s the rocker arm we need to do this. I gave him the symptoms of the car and advised that his technicians should be able to diagnose the car without shelling out $1400 to just look at the car and tell me the problem. I then cal customer service back and the documentation for a supervisor was not even documented and we have to wait another day. Please we need help with getting this repair covered since this is an issue we’ll know to Chrysler. Please stand by your product. We thank you in advance for your time and efforts. Our car is currently at the certified dealer in winter haven, Fl.
Desired outcome: Proper repair to be covered by the company knowing this issue has been going on for a while with this engine.

2017 chrysler 300
Hello
I'm writing this to express my upset feeling with my Chrysler 300 that I bought new from heritage Chrysler in owning mills, MD. I went out this morning and noticed all my door panels are protruding up and deformed at my windows. My Chrysler 300 was brand new when I bought it and I'm the only one that drives it. I believe this is from heat that built up in my car. My Chrysler only has 15,459 miles on it and I baby the car. It is a 2017 Chrysler 300 and I'm the only owner. I have had 4 Chrysler 300, all new, and this has never happened before. I haven't notified the dealer yet, but the car can be inspected if you want to see the damage. I know I will be buying another new vehicle as soon as the dealers have an inventory and are willing to make a reasonable deal. I would love having a new Chrysler, but not if I'm going to have problems like this, that is the manufacture fault. I would like a speedy response. I may be looking for a new 300 Chrysler or your Chrysler Pacifica. I know this depends on how Chrysler stands behind their product?
Desired outcome: to replace the door panels at your expense

1) Van dead in parking lot near home
2) Called my long-time mechanic - used two jumpers - no start
3) Called Chrysler - towed to address above
4) In for one week - picked- up (1/25/2021) van - dealer did a recall & installed
2 new Mopar Batteries (per the invoice).
7/27/2022 - Mileage 12,794
1) Van dead in driveway - my same mechanic comes to jump it
2) Mechanic (know him 40+ years) says this Battery looks
much older than 1-2 years (ok, didn't think too much of it)
3) Mechanic replaces Battery & tells me that the Battery
is not a Mopar Battery (WoW! - it says on my dealer paperwork
that 2 Mopar Batteries were replaced with 2 New Mopar batteries.
4) My Mechanic asked me if I wanted the battery to take back
to the dealership - I said that would do no good since I could
not prove that the battery was in there in the first place.
Did not think that I had to check to see that the battery was indeed
a new Mopar Battery - Trusted the Dealership - My Mistake
Chrysler honored their 3-year warranty - towed Van into the shop - replaced the
batteries - no charge. No problem at all - good service - I thought.at
the time. The problem - I started having trouble with my van - radio going off
warning lights on & off - power-down to save gas not working etc. No
warning lights telling me that the battery was low - until it just died in my driveway.
A New Mopar Battery was not installed in my Van at the Dealership -
that is a fact - not provable - but it happened - My Mechanic was very
surprised that this would happen at the Dealership - Very disappointing
that the dealership would allow this to happen by not paying attention.
Maybe they need to do a better job vetting employees that represent them.
So, WOW Let's Recap - It cost me $423.64 to replace a "Used (Non-Mopar) Battery" that was put in my Van by the Dealership (1/25/2021) - which I cannot prove (my van is less than 5 years old) - I guess, at this point, I will chalk it up to a life lesson learned - maybe I can help someone else with this story (as they say - let the buyer beware). It will be very interesting to see how many of my friends will even believe this story, because I'm finding it very hard to believe myself.
By the way - I am also very sorry now that I purchased the Zurich extended service contract.
Desired outcome: Sent this in last week - have not heard anything - I'm out $423.64 - should not have happened - where was this sent or filed? Thanks - Phil N
Service department
On Monday, 8/1/22, my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited anti lock and anti skid lights came on. With these lights on, I was parking my vehicle when I felt and heard a shudder coming from the drive train, and it felt like my steering was binding. I was near Family Crysler, Jeep Dodge and Ram dealer here in Philadelphia. So I gave a call to their service department, explained what my problems were. At this time, the service tech informed me their dealership doesn't service any vehicles older than a 2012 model year! I wa shocked, to say the least! I felt like I was driving some ancient foreign car. . .I never heard of a dealer turning down money before. Is this a dealer policy, or a Chryler Corp policy?
Desired outcome: I'm just inquiring about this dealer's policy, that's all
Dodge Ram 1500 Pick Up
Let me begin by declaring I am not a wealthy person who can afford to continue to drop all my worth into something so disheartening.
It was the the summer of 2020 in the early stages of Pandemic and Lock Downs when I was shopping for a new to me but Used Pick Up Truck, mostly for Contract and Service Work I do and to ferry my partner and I the eight hour round trip grocery and doctors appointments every three months or so.
I found a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, at a dealership for an inflated price but it had everything in it I needed and clean with detailed mechanical inspections. It really is a nice looking vehicle and maybe it might have been what first caught my eye. The test drive was great, the oil clean with no leaks. It was maintained every 4000KM with Oil change and lube service even after it was purchased and in my name.
Up to the summer of 2021 our motor was running great. After a pit stop for a break on the highway on our quarterly journeys to the city the engine suffered what was later found to be catastrophic engine failure. The pistons made contact with the spark plugs and it was dead in the water. We were left stranded and missed appointments and hiked 20+ KM back to the nearest telephone.
I learned that these engines have no room to rebuild them and I could not afford a new engine but I sacrificed and took on extra work and left my family and home for weeks at a time to afford a new engine. It took 6 months to afford a crate engine and when it finally arrived and installed the engine ran and purred beautifully. Some where along the way the new motor and Transmission quit communicating. The engine ran great but it wouldn't register a speed or change gears. The mechanic I have insisted for another 6 months that this could be fixed in the wiring and here we are today 1 year later finding out that the new crate engine has a leaking rear main seal and it's still at the shop on a hoist but you know that means it is going to need another 3rd engine. The leaking new crate engine has a warranty but like I care, I've got nothing left to give you. The Transmission is missing all the gears but 1st and reverse, I'm going to need a new ABS Module and possible computer. I have bought this Dodge truck twice now in the past two years and may require me to buy it a third time with no guarantee that it will actually perform as one would expect it should.
You know; Start, Stop, Go, Don't Go. Honk, Honk.
I have lost all confidence in Dodge Ram, my spirit has been broken.
I used to shine and smile and be a pleasant person.
I have lost all my savings and my truck and my ability to make an income since July 2021.
I have been in a very depressive state for over a year and it has been a struggle to get a night of sleep most nights. I have suicidal thoughts. My relationships are struggling with everyone even my partner. Choosing Dodge Ram has ruined my life. I am going to go without food or fuel to feed and heat my home and family this winter. I am going without an income or assistance for over a year now because of this unreliable product.
Dodge still wants more from me.
All I have left is a rope.
Desired outcome: Please refund me and my struggling family. all I have sacrificed. $13,000-2007 truck + $9,000-Crate Engine + $3000 parts and labor + $35,000 Lost Wages.
2015 Chrysler 200
7-25-22
To whom it may concern,
My name is Rachael Beidelschies, and I am writing in regard to my 2015 Chrystler 200. I purchased this car in 2018, with approximately 40,000 miles on it, one previous owner. I was looking for a vehicle with low gas mileage, safe for me and my children, and reasonably priced. Since purchasing it, I have had to invest in several high dollar repairs. Most recently, I had to replace my rear suspension, and within a week, my car would no longer go into park. I took my car to a Chrystler dealer as I researched and found there were several recalls involving the transmission, after servicing it, it was worse than what it was before. The dealership told me this was not their problem and that I would have to wait 3-4 weeks and have it diagnosed. I took it to another mechanic and was informed that it was either the control switch, something electrical or the transmission. I trusted in your product, have maintained routine maintenance in addition to other repairs which were mentioned in the recalls (rear suspension, costing my thousands of dollars in addition to replacing the tires twice within a year because the rear suspension was faulty), and am currently left with a vehicle that will not park. I feel like this is ridiculous, should be evaluated, and repaired. Please stand behind your product and contact me at [protected].
Thank you,
Rachael Beidelschies
Desired outcome: Repair
2017 dodge 3.6 pentastar engine
I have a 2017 Dodge Journey Crossover with a 3.6 penastar engine the vehicle has 156.000 on it or 96,000 miles. I had a ticking sound in the engine and took it to a local shop who replaced 4 lifters and rocker arms. This did not solve the problem and was advised to take it to a dealer as they would be better at determining which lifter where to be replaced. I did this and they informed me that they replaced all 24 lifters and rocker arms and all 4 cam shafts. I lodged a complaint with the customer support line and they did nothing but spin this as my fault for going over on an oil change. The vehicle was serviced regularly with full synthetic oil it do go over once but with full synthetic that would have made no difference. A vehicle with this mileage should never had needed $4100 worth of engine work. I had the extended warranty on the vehicle and did everything in my power to keep this vehicle safe. Trying to just spin things to not do anything as a good faith gesture is all I got from the support line. Chrysler should be well aware that with all the service records I provided to them that this was an issue that should not have happened and they should have made it right even the dealership agreed this should have been covered but it was out of there hands. Chrysler totally drop the ball on this and I have been a loyal customer and am rethinking any future dealings with them
Desired outcome: I would like them to cover the cost of these repairs as this should never had happened to this engine at this mileage
Tires and wheels
i just bought a chrysler pacifica few days ago and was surprise there is no spare tire with it this is not good for the buyer to not having the assurance and peace of mind of not having a back up went need also good customer for follow up.. i have a 2007 dodge truck two months ago i had front blow out tire which could not be repair however thank good nes i had a spare tire that came with the vehicle that put me on highway in short time chrysler rethink program about spare tire the saving the company is having is not helping the consumer...ken
Battery needed replaced and the expiration ran out the day before
Gastonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM
Jul 9, 2022
I just had to go to Gastonia Chrysler because I was having trouble with my vehicle it was slow starting. It started on Thursday July 7th. I immediately scheduled to bring my vehicle in. The soonest I could get it in was Saturday the 9th. I got a brand new battery 3 years ago and the warranty expired on the 8th. They wouldn't cover it at all. I am so disappointed. So if I would have come to the dealer and did not have an appointment , they still would not work on my car. This is wrong! I set up an appointment immediately! I also called the Chrysler dealer where I got my battery originally ,on the day I started having problems and the person that answered didn't know what the warranty time was. He took my name and number and told me he would have a service manager call me. I never received a call.
Desired outcome: for the company to cover my new battery
Service/Fraud
My husband and myself built a jeep at Buchanan Auto Park in Waynesboro Maryland on Saturday April 9, 2022 and I received confirmation on Monday April 11,2022 it was officially ordered. We paid $500 when we built it on 4/9/22 and signed papers the build was correct, the price, and trade of my vehicle was to. We were told they would call us when it came in to finalize the sale. After many weeks passed we began calling to find out the status of our jeep. We were told it was in transit. We began calling again and no one at this dealership would call us back after this. At 12 weeks after ordering it we called and we were told they were to busy to check on the status of this jeep (this was June 30th). And we have proof of this call. We called again on July 8th and were told they sold our jeep. After talking to them we found out the day (June 30th) we called and were told they "were to busy to check on it" was the day it was sold. So someone messed up big time and sold our jeep! I am absolutely disgusted they did this to us. After taking the time to sit down and build what we wanted, sign papers and give them a $500 I am not happy that this is how we were treated. So I'm left with no jeep, a trade on my old vehicle that didn't happen and them trying to offer me another jeep I didn't build or want.
Desired outcome: I would like a upgraded jeep for the price of what we settled on. If I have to start from the beginning I would upgraded features for free to have to wait yet again!
Emails with new car quotes
I responded to a dealership's advertisement for a new Jeep Renegade Trailblazer, filling out all the forms with my personal information. I then received emails with quotes for the purchase including payment terms. This was all a lie once I talked to the dealership and they gave me the correct quotes, and the prices were MUCH higher. Then every time I call the customer service number at Chrysler [protected], I'm on hold for a while, and then i get disconnected. i am livid!
Desired outcome: I want the deal Chrysler quoted me in the emails.

Ram hemi engine noise
I had been a chevy truck owner for over 30 years. In 2017 I was in the market for a new truck. I had heard many good things about the ram. I drove the new chevy's, ford and the ram truck. I was very impressed with how smooth the vehicle was and always powerful with the 5.7 hemi.
All has been fine until this spring, when I noticed a ticking noise when I started the engine. It didn't always happen and would go away within a minute.
I recently ran into a mechanic friend of mine and asked him about it. He said what I had is what they call the "hemi tick". A cracked exhaust manifold bolt that is a common occurence on these engines. I was amazed at how long it has been going on and more surprised that Ram has not had a recall on the issue.
I contacted the Ram dealer and he said there was a warranty on it for 5 years or 60k miles. I had my truck 5 yrs and 2 months and 40K on it when the tick started.
I am retired and don't put many miles on it. The truck is also only driven as my main vehicle and not as a work truck.
I enjoy my ram truck and have recommended then to my friends and I would buy another one when the time comes. But I feel Ram should stand behind their procucts better and have a recall on this issue. I also feel they should repair this problem with my truck under warranty.
Thanks for your time.

Running boards chrome is peeling
I brought my 2020 dodge ram to my dealership Belanger Chrysler In Rockland Ontario to have my running boards which were purchased with the truck to have them looked at. The running boards chrome was peeling. The dealership took pictures and sent into Chrysler to have them replaced. They responded by saying my claim was denied. Reason given was "out side influences". This response is total nonsense. The running boards chrome is defective as truck is only couple years old. Once again corporation is not living up to it's warranties and honoring the warranties sold with this truck. Stating it's outside influences does not make my warranties invalid.
Desired outcome: Replace my running boards that are defective and damaged
