terrible to employes
the employes at circle k get treated like dogs. They do not pay well and if you want a raise don't expect more than a 15cent raise. the company wont pay for uniform shirts, they wont even give their employes a fountain soda that costs 75 cents . they make them work everyday of the year all year most holidays are payed normal wage as well as sundays. hours their are spread out thin and most employes are made to work alone during busy times of the day without any support they must run an entire store by themselves. they are subjected to unfair mystery shops. the people that are head of the corporate offices are bumbling idiots who don't know their ### from their elbow. employes may not have an over time. and on top of that the benefits are absolutely terrible. in my opinion the people who run corporate are terrible people as well as terrible managers who care nothing for their employes. they demand everything from them but never show them anything in return.

hostile work enviroment
Its so many things about Circle K, For one they do not care about their workers.Ive been there for five years plus I help run some of their high volume stores. I tried to go with the flow but I'm steady being put down walk over and I've done had enough, don't know one deserve to be treated that way. My boss recently quit and market manager was demoted for what reason I don't know but they bring in a market manager so hung up on her power that she abuses the leverage (Micro-Manager) is what she called. She brags about how she started at 3rd shift and promoted to store manager in 3 months (Impossible unless). Its a lot of favoritism in this company either you with the program or you get kick off the program or harassed to you quit. one thing I'm not is a quit-er. The new market manager told me that i wasn't worthy or even qualified to be a MIT (Manager in Training), even tho I've been there for five years plus I've trained store managers and help run good stores with great audits beside that they hire people of the street for that position. Since my boss left the store they given me hell really never took the time out to know me just judging me off of whatever and I'm a good employee never stole anything do what I'm told and still get bad end of a situation, why ? what did I do to get this type of treatment? We had a meeting and I was signal out . This lady had the nerves to ask me to quit and i said I'm not a quit-er after this convo things change my hours change, threatened to be fired more double standards which its okay for this person to do it but if I do it I'm fired, Even denied my right to go to the Doctor about my Pink eye. I called four hours before my shift and said I would bring a Doctor excuses and that wasn't enough was told if i didn't show up I would be fired, ( so unethical), then sent to another store and got suspended for at first a 80 dollar shortage which was the store manager fault because he shut the shift down wrong but money come back next day so now suspended cause I've went to work 3rd shift doing the store manager a favor and cleaned this nasty store up I've mean walls, restrooms, garbage cans outside, inside face and front, stocked all supplies, and mop several times in a very hot store, I admit I was tired, sleepy and hot and I fail to do the cooler, now this was my first time working over night at this store so I didn't know I was supposed to do the cooler and leave the doors open while I'm in a cooler (very dangerous at 3.00 in the mourning), but like I said they don't care about the lives of their employees. What do you do when you steady being push to the wall. I might get fired for writing this so I'm going to keep a copy of it and get EEOC involved for harassment and creating a hostile work environment .

service
I use a wheelchair, and I find it very difficult to enter your store. I asked because of my issue could I play the lotto through the drive thru. All of your employees have been helpful to me in this area. I went there today 4/26/12 and was refused service by your store manager Scott. I understand rules and regulations but do to your sign outside the door that states you will assists people with disabilities I am unclear on the type of assistance you are willing to provide to people with disabilities. If you are willing to modify assistance how come your manager is unaware of this. I feel like this was a form of discrimination becauses the sign says you will assist disabled people yet I was turned away. All the places I go generally don't have any problems assisting me from my car so I am truly shocked by the treatment I received.

you should stop goung there. I think there are plenty of places to buy Lotto Tickets
bad customer service
My husband went to get gas in our van. He only had a hundred dollar bill and went in to prepay. The attendant told him that she just opened and could not give change. She didn't know what to do so she called her "manager". I use this term lightly. The manager MIchelle told the attendant to call the police and tell him to leave. Literally, I can't explain...

"i was just robbed by a cashier" I paid five dollars of gas and waited for the pump to turn on I waited for over about a half hour and no gas. I went in the store to talk to the cashier an I told him whats going on. He stated " I already pumped the gas an laughed at me and told me to get the f*** out of the store". I asked to have a customer service number so I can speak with someone about this ridiculous situation. He stated " he cant give it to me and said to come back in the morning. " he never gave me my money back and nothing was done about the situation. This is the type of people they hire an have working at there store, I dont need to be wasting my hard earned money just to get robbed by a cashier suppose to be doing his job...
do they really care for their employees?
Wow! I thought I was the only employee out of all the other Circle K stores that had problems. Lets see the problems first started when I had strep throat. I came in thinking I could handle the 8 hours shift but 2 hours into the job I eventually got worse. It got to the point where if I stayed any longer I would have passed out. I got weak and was coughing. I asked my supervisor if I could take the rest of the day off. Let me say one thing...STREP THROAT IS SERIOUS. (& I hope she reads this since this woman lives and breathes Circle K like its the only thing that should matter in everyone's life.) Anywho, I offered to show her proof of how bad it was, I had the white pus all over my tonsils to prove it. She just said "eww, I don't care you're not going anywhere" and walked away. I was more furious than ever. Eventually, after she left, I texted her and told her I was going home because I couldn't handle it anymore. Here's what happened, she yelled at me (I hung up), and CUT MY HOURS! WTF kind of woman does that.
Next event that happened was a few months back. I was working with a wonderful co-worker and she was minding her business doing her job in the cooler and stocking it. She and I are the only ones who stock the place right and re-organize it after the other lazy workers decide we can do the dirty work and clean their mess up. We spend an average of 2-4 hours in there, because it takes us that long to make it look exceptional for my supervisor we turn the cooler off and on. So the assistant manager, who offered me a raise to slap her where the cameras couldn't see, decides he wants to go in there and yell at her. By the way, he was off the clock and drunk, according to company policy no employee should be in the cooler unless clocked in and working. So he yells at her and just laughs at her while she cries. We called our supervisor and all she had to say was "...he's always like that, don't let him scare you." Guess what the outcomes were, co-worker left, assistant manager got a better job. Umm..there's something wrong here. This just downright pissed me off.
So after being there for pretty much a year my grandmother was admitted in the hospital and doctors called us in to say good bye, my grandma by the way is doing much better, I told my supervisor about the situation and SHE ASKED ME, "do you want me to give you the week off?" When I said yes she got upset about it. When I got back to work I found that my hours had been cut once again. And today I'm facing a choice between losing my job or quitting.
I'm sorry Circle K but your business, company policies & the supervisors you hired are just downright stupid. Who does this? Are you guys really this heartless to do this to people? Do you just love putting people through this & wasting their time as well? I hate to say this but after today I am no longer an employee of your so called company. I'm done dealing with your people.
I agree with you. I'm a very soft-hearted person. If I hear a sob story I'll do everything I can in my power to help someone. I did with Circle K & just got screwed over again. So I finally had the guts to quit. I think my acne from the stress has gone away. :)

Notbworking for circle k is the best thing ive ever done for myself and my family. they r all the same! store managers and district managers are all in it for each other and not u (the ones who actually work)
sexual harassment
When my wife was a young trainee in the mid 1980's working at the circle k uk office in west london she was sexually harassed by her manager who used to call her into his office and make her sit on his knee. This caused him to become sexually aroused. My wife was to scared, shocked, traumatised and intimidated to report it at the time as she was afraid of losing her job.
I'm not sure where this manager is now working or whether it is too late to do anything now, but i'm keen to try and prevent this happening to anyone else and to ensure that this culture has now been eradicated in circle k.
employee treatment
I worked at circle k for exactly 1 month thats all it took. The manager told me I couldn't handle my job I had a lot of stree but I have been in customer service for 15+ years... And I told her that no I can that it will be ok I just had to get back in the aswing of things. Then she told me I had $20 come up missing form 2 wks prior why did she wait so long I have no clue but there was always several people on my drawer so I wasn't signing anything and just like I told her I may mess up to error is to be human but I am not a thief well I left that job and thank god after I left my ex co workers are now telling me how the manager told the assistant that the employees were worthless and the a particular one was a piece of sh** well I was thinking awww hear say but I find out it was written out on a letter then she told a employee in front of customers that he was a piece of (That) in front of customers well this woman has had at least 3 different sets of employees since quit someone needs to get a grip on their managers before speedway put circle k under because I would rather go to speedway across town then circle k down the street

I have been a customer of Circle K on Nations Ford for a long time and have not liked the manager there since he came to the store and have final severed my relationship with that store. I have seen many employees come and go there but over the last monh I have seen his behavior get worse he is now yelling at the employees in front of us customers calling them liers and accusing them of stealing. I want to recommned that no females step foot in that store to work under this man he makes sexual comments to them and belittles them in front of any and everyone. I have called human rescoures and then spoke to the employess to see if it has helped they said no I hope by writing this someone will do something about the Hitler of a manager!
I am currently working at a circle k and I am already being treated poorly. I can never get a day off and I get hours that waist my whole day away. I can't even get a day off if I'm sick. I have lost so much weight to the point I'm seeming like I'm anorexic but to be honest no one gets a break they expect you to eat on the job and to by there crappy junk food. So I have no choice but to eat the junk or to starve all day. Can't really eat anyways when you have a mob of costumers every time you go to take a bite...just a bad place to work if you don't need to lose weight or you get sick a lot because you can only dream to get a day off
If you sir are truly a CK manager, I KNOW now what's wrong with most CK stores! It's NOT the employees you're referring to as "meat bags" NOR is it the customers which you refer to as "people".. It's idiots such as yourself that make CK such a sorry place to work for and a sorry place to shop at! When there's truthful, hard working, fair managers running the place you have nice, decent, friendly customers who have no complaints. When it's a sorry, non caring, lying, snake in the grass crooked ### such as you managing CK, there's always going to be one complaint after another! You crap on your employees and your customers and you're not professional at all! You must be kin to the DM or knew the DM personally somehow to have the guts to get on here and bash your employees and customers the way you did. It just goes to show that the whole problem is YOU!
Amen..I think you sir are an observant "customer". Its about time one of you "people"(we in C K management don't believe in the word "customer") spoke up about the extremely hostile methods we use to handle our "meat bags"(haha gets me every time, you know, its what we in C K mgmt. call our "lack of work" ers, hehe, I just slay me). We especially love to do it right in front of you just to laugh because we know you'll say and do nothing and be back tomorrow for more "goods". You "people" should organize a little and oh, try boycotting us for a few days. In fact I dare you to..come on..if you think we're bad managers, I dare you to stop coming to shop here. Ha, ha, I didn't think so, here have one of our "250% markup" fountain drinks and get back in line with the rest of 'em. I love being a C K henchman.
customer harrasment and threats
I have worked at circle k for over a year now. I have had many incidents in the store that I work at regarding the customers. I have customers threaten my life more than once. I have spoken with my boss and have repeatedly asked for a store transfer and keep getting denied. I have four kids at home and its gotten to the point where I am scared to even go to work now. The customers are always the regulars who love to come in and steal and then when I ask them to leave the store they get very hostile. I am always stuck at the register by myself and always seems like i'm the one having to tell them to leave the store. When I leave work for the day I am running to my car. What I would like to know is are we employees not valuable to the company that we cant get some kind of protection when we are just trying to keep your stores from getting robbed.

false advertising os state min. cig
Circle k advertises they sell cigarettes at state minimum prices. I went to buy a carton of pall mall and was quoted a price for $49. .50 after looking up the indiana laws it says they should be $41.53. . If they want to advertise they sell at state minimum they should do so. Thank you very much wendi tomlinson

Read full review of Circle K and 1 commentreally bad employee policies
Circle k is really insane in how they treat there line level employees at the store level. I wont even go on the health care that is pretty much non existent except for salary employees. New policy that has come out. It is now required for all store employees to purchase coffee and fountain soda if they have any on there shift. I find this as just a complete penny pinching policy. Four comments and reasons on it. One these are products with very high profit margin. Soda for example is probably in the 150-200% area and coffee probably in 75% or higher. Two: with the policy that coffee needs to be dumped and changed every 2 hours on average I would assume close to a gallon of coffee is dumped a day. Three the policy is insane for store level employees in that okay so the people who work the graveyard, with no pay differential, have to pay. Same with people who open stores at 4 am and close the stores at night. Four is just something I would love to find out, might not be valid complaint. The corporate offices, are they supplied coffee or do the people that work in them pool a fund and pay for it. If it is like many companies I know it is usually a budgeted line under office supplies. Just a curiosity there.
Was not fired...just find it an insane policy. I drink water anyway. Just an extra job for a few extra dollars thats all. Point is the people working there are barely above min wage and corporate offices get coffee and water...I found out they do btw. It is free for the corporate but for the employees who actually do the line work it is not. If your looking for ways to build employee moral they like pushing the limit. Especially hypocritical is the fact the policy for the coffee to be made is every 2 or 3 hours...its the coffee pots they start blinking when time to make new...it is a company policy written etc...the manager says just reset it if there is still coffee in the pots to its gone. So policies are subject to what saves money. Fresh coffee not always there. My manager got mad at me when a customer asks how old the coffee is I tell them the truth. Threatened to write me up...kind of pointed out can t write someone up for not lying...she walked away. Personally Im not afraid of the management or intimidated by them at all. I have no problem walking out if I wanted but the policies dont affect me.

She's crazy
Circle K is corrupt from the district manager on up, I should know, I'm a henchmen in the employ of these corrupt individuals. I do their low level dirty work with a smile and a pat on the back, then I move on to the next store. I'm 'the cleaner', the smoke and mirrors guy who makes everything look right when things are so very wrong. My soul has been scarred by the things I've done for a buck so I thought a 'confession' might help, naw, I think I'll just get a fountain drink. Oh look a little chip in the lip of the cup, guess I'll write that one off as a loss, can't sell that to a customer. But hey why waste it like we waste the unsold donuts, I'll just use it for free. LA dee da, la da dee, look at me!
unethical treatment
My managers are sisters and obviously show there napatism in alot of ways dawn the assistant has been coplained about through corporate mant times the assistant is given a guarunteed 40 hours every week even if she leaves early. the take money from us and threaten to fire us if we dont give it. they hired one of the managers friends and ive been promoted to lead and cut my hours to give her friend them.she has only been there 4 months. Also the store manager told me she was going to cut my hours because they think i have a problem with dawn which isnt true. there also so much more and im not the only employee who wants to come forward we just dont know who to turn to.

Remember that if you are having a problem with a manager you can take it to your market manager. Or ask for a transfer. Just because you are having issues with one store, doesnt mean it should reflect the whole company. I have been employed with circle K for three years. Next year I will have my own store when my store manager retires. Come work for me! I will treat you right! lol :) But there are always ways to resolve your problems. And some people should have never been promoted to management in the first place. Good luck. Im sorry your having these problems.
Take it to the local t.v. station. circle crack needs to be stopped! i dont work there due to a situation alot like urs. it was the best thing that ever happened to me tho. keep ur head up. i promise theres a better life after circle k. one u will appreciatemore after working for that bogus company!
donation boxes
I am sending this email in regards to the United Cerebral Palsy donation containers on the counter tops at all of the stores. While I find that placing a donation box out is an honorable venture for Circle K to partake in, I feel that having the clerks solicit donations by asking the customer if they would like to donate their change is crossing the line.
In this economy, everyone is a little more strapped for cash and some more so than others and the manner in which the clerks hold your change "hostage" while asking if you'd like to donate is humiliating especially while others are waiting behind you. If you say you would not like to donate, the clerks give you dirty looks like you are a criminal, while slowly handing the change back to you.
My wife lost her job and I work two jobs to survive and support my family and unfortunately, I have to go to Circle K sometimes 5-6 times a day for the little things like milk, bread, water, and the occasional bottle of soda or juice, and of course gasoline, and this suggestive donating is really frustrating especially since some of the clerks see a person many times a day.
I have spoken to the manager several times and she claims it is company policy to ask and if this is the case, then I will not be returning to Circle K to make my purchases since I am tired of being humiliated by saying no to the donations. I make barely enough to keep our family surviving and I know that this might be a trivial matter to some but if I go into the store several times a day and I average .50-.99 cents in change back, that adds up to a gallon of milk or loaf of bread, or even a gallon of gasoline...that which I am constantly being asked to donate.
Please put a stop to this practice of asking the customer if they want to donate as the clerks have no idea how it impacts a person's ego or conscience when they feel like a criminal for not donating.
"Clerks" at circle k obviously have a minimum wage job and completely understand scraping by pay check to pay check I mean If ur going to a gas station a few times a day for milk and various other items u r doing better than most bc most convenience store crap is over priced due to "the convenience" I understand its annoying; they have to ask they are grilled on a daily basis to ask, its a business if u don't ask u don't get. some people can and some people can't some people just pick out their pennies and put their pennies instead of the full change amount anything helps and if u feel humiliated that's ur own ego, not the question maybe u should make a change in ur life so u don't have to be humiliated for not having the change to donate to something...some people don't some people do man oh well
Having been the Customer Service Rep in this situation, I know exactly what you mean. It's awkward for the folks behind the counter as well.
Unfortunately for the employees, there's always something the manager/asst. manager/district manager wants you to be promoting as an extra sale at EVERY transaction, and if you don't try and sell whatever the current product is (whether it be a charity donation, on-sale Gatorade, etc) you get in trouble. Depending on the circumstances this could mean getting written up or suspended from work, which few Circle K employees can afford to risk.
I agree that this required extra sale is dumb and often inconsiderate, but the fault doesn't fall to the sales clerks. They're simply doing their job. The problem spawns from some decision made in upper management, but I don't think it'll be changing anytime soon.
P.S. I hope the clerks you've met (giving you reproachful looks) don't represent most Circle K employees. It's common knowledge that there are many times when people can't spare any change, and it's your money anyway - to do what you want to with it.
thermostat control
I don't know who bright idea it was to set the thermostat controls in the south georgia region on 77 degrees, but they must know nothing about the heat and humidity. I am a 9 year cancer survivor and I can not take the heat. It was 81 degrees in my store today. I have complained to manager and area manager to no avail. I am not the only one complaining. The store on hwy 80 has a big fan blowing cold air from their cooler. I am thinking of quitting my job and i've will have worked for circle k a year in july and I wanted to go into management for them I have a excellent resume in management with over 10 years retail/ please do somethiing!

I walked into circle k on east 151st street carmel indiana to get a fresh mtn dew while my mother pumped gas. She came in the store to prepay for her gas. After paying for her gas she exited the store. I was still in the line waiting to pay. Two managers behind the counter and another customer began talking dirty about my mother saying she was stupid and it looked like she got hit bye the door on the way in. After I overheard that I let it go bye not wanting to start trouble or anything. Then my mother came back in the store to find out about her fuel points. Then she had exited again while i'm still in line. The employees and customer then said told u nutjob. Then I spoke up saying thats my mother and I would appreciate u not talking about her like that. Then I began to be treated rudely. I set my drink on the counter and said i'm not spending my money here and let them know I would be turning them in to there corperate offices. After I exited the store and told my mother what had been said she went in and said (That was really rude and she didnt deserve to be treated like that). An employee of circle k then told her shut the ### up and get out. This rude behavior will not be taken lightly. If actions are not taken I will post this incident on facebook and any website I can think of.

unruly assistany store manager
The assistant store manager, gerald, is consistently rude and often refuses to serve me when I go into the store. He often refuses lottery sales and tells me that's what the machine in the store is for to other customers, not just me. The only instances I have seen him act friendly is when his boss is in the store. He often parks his vehicle taking up...

I won a free elk hunt on their website in march 2010. They advertised it as a "guided elk lodge hunt". I gave the hunt to my husband and the owner told us for 500 dollars I could come along and hang out in the lodge. They listed the emenities as satellite tv, comfortable modern lodge and home cooked meals. When we arrived, the modern, comfortable lodge with the satellite tv was their house with their kids and where we stayed (The last week of october in montana) was an unheated bunkhouse with a couple of spaceheaters (One of which didnt work) , a tv that didnt get any channels, some scratched dvd movies laying around and a couch with the springs sticking up through it. But, hands down, the worst part of the whole trip was the condition of the bunkhouse. We arrived to find it filthy. There was mold on the bottom of the shower curtain, no toilet paper, overflowing trash cans, the guides' personal toiletries, clothing and food laying around. The toilet and kitchen sink were disgusting, I spent 30 minutes cleaning the coffee machine, and the place was filled with flies. I sprayed hundreds of them for the 41/2 days we were there. When we asked where a store was that had cleaning products we were told to go to town and have a beer and someone would clean it. We came back and recleaned it with products we bought ourselves.
The house was off-limits except for meals. By the middle of the week we were not even being notified when dinner was ready and my husband got a sandwich and a granola bar and a bottle of water for lunch. We left a day early we were so fed up. I had to drive 17 miles one way to a store that had a video rental (Redbox) because nobody in darby would rent a movie to anyone who didnt have a darby address... Even with a credit card. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We drove across the country from michigan and paid 900 dollars for a license and 500 additional charge for crappy accomodations and food and service. The only thing that made the week bearable was the guide mike. He was awesome and even though my husband didnt get an elk he had alot of fun and exercise with the guide. Mike even recommended a great restaurant for our last night... Cause we knew we were not welcome at the "lodge". I cant believe that this guy is still in business. He bullied us about our political views and had us walking through horse ### to get to the bunkhouse. I even had a guide walk in on me just after I had gotten out of the shower with his dog "to get his shaving stuff". Give me as break! With all the outfitters in this area... Pick someone else. Funny... After we left they changed their website a bit. Still is a bunch of bull though.
On May 19, 2008 I left a package at the Greyhound Valley Retriever in Newport OR. It left with Insurance to Indianapolis Indiana and arrived as I received two phone calls on this matter that it did arrive. My buyer filed complaint that it was not there. I went to where it was sent from and he called Indianapolis # from above information. He told me that the package was signed for and picked up.
When I called myself June 26, 08 to ask for a copy for my claim against me I was rudely cut off when I asked to talk to the manager. She claimed that the confirmation # did not exist with greyhound. Mr. Picot who did attempt to retrieve his package was told the first time the same story about the # as I had the copy and he only had the number I gave him. The second time he returned he was told the package was returned. It has never arrived. When I called it was back to the number was no good.
On July 2, 08 I called to talk to Tina Archer; Supervisor and again I was spoken to rudely by" Sylvia" as she took my number and hung up again without letting me talk to her...
I am at my ends with and if you cannot help in this matter please direct me where to complain and get my insurance money of 200.00. I will have to swallow the shipping costs but someone has that chair and with no questions asked I would like it returned ASAP.
I am almost certain that someone does know about this missing package there in Indianapolis and does not want to cope to it. I have requested assistance from paypal on this matter and do not plan to drop this till the chair is found.

Went on an awesome hunt with these guys. This lady should have stayed home in the kitchen where she obviously belongs. Perhaps a spa day with the $500.
