I opened my account @2 years ago. At the beginning, I was told about the mobile banking app . "Just set up your account through the app and there won't be any charges" Sounded easy enough. Until I tried to register a password. It wouldn't let me log in. I call the local branch, and they tell me to call the 800 number. I call the 800 number, only to be told, they can't help, I must call my local branch.
I call my local branch, explain to them what I have just talked to customer service about. Again, I was told to call customer service.
I never received the first solution from anyone. Fast forward to May 10th, 2019. I want to cash a check and they tell me my account is closed. I had -$21 balance I wanted to pay off . They lady said she couldn't do the payment as but will cash my check. Also tells me I have to write another check for the negative balance. I'm expecting a deposit on June 3rd and will not be able to access my funds!
If I had been given the right info to begin with. I wouldn't be having these problems now!

Opened A NEW account back in Dec based on a promotion of $400 after 90 days. Today nothing, called them and they said you have to make a direct deposit vs me walking into a bank and handing them a $25, 000 check. What difference does it make in either case money is deposited into the account. Citizens bank just used my money. Very misleading just to get new customers and use their money. Stay away there are much better banks out there that aren't out to screw you.

Citizens bank in exton pennsylvania was sent legal documents to the manager patrick quinn. The existing poa received his notification of change on 12/27/18 his services as poa were no longer valid.in conversation with patrick quinn of this change in detail days after the new year, he instructed what documents were required, express mail to him and he will go through legal, incorporate the change. Documents were expressed mailed to patrick quinn on 1-11-19. Received and signed for on 1-14-19. Shortly thereafter receipt quinn suddenly got bus. After repeated attempts no response from quinn.in the mean time the old poa decided to withdrawal $70, 000.00 from the account. After that quinn finally answered on of my many calls my call giving me a smug answer when I informed $70, 000.00 was taken from the account. I demand answers! Quinn did not have the decency to answer my calls to date..in conversation with his manager lloyd stienmetz, that pathetic turd blew me off dropping the ball back on quinn. Two (2) weeks later 2-4-19 the existing poa took the remaining funds and closed the account entirely. Patrick quinn and citizens bank are deceitful, pathetic, disrespectful, liars, with no ethics or morals. A liability to the banking industry. I will never become a customer of citizens bank. I will never recommend employees, clients, friends or anyone to citizens bank. There are plenty of other banks with ethics and morale's who treat people with respect. Your true rating is -0.0

Please do not apply for the credit cards from citizens bank. The application processing system is very old and unsecured. They will ask the full social security number on the call, they will ask to send a copy of the social security card and they still go ahead and reject the application with a hidden clause.
They send out your pre-qualified for a credit card and it is a total scam. They have too many hidden clauses which will make you not eligible for the credit card. They auto pull you credit information and we finally end up with a hard inquiry for 2 years.

failed to receive bonus
I've received a mail offer which ive attached to this post and agreed to open an account based on their offer. I've also visited a local branch within 30 days after account opening to ensure i've met all of the stipulations to receive this bonus and was assured that i have and the only thing i would need is a direct deposit every month.
Here we are 6 months later and np bonuses were ever paid out. I spoke with an associate and his supervisor (Craig from the Pennsylvania call center) who told me my account does not qualify for the bonus because i made a "mobile deposit" rather than a "direct deposit". I've opened up account with other banks where as an average customer i wasn't expected to know these pedantic details. Craig said nothing could be done at this point so I've let Citizens bank hold my funds for 6 months and never received their offered bonus. This isn't an institution i would recommend to anyone i know.

I found out during a business dinner that my card was no good, thought it was a fluke, tried to get gas with same card, same issue. Called Citizens customer service, told that fraud department cancelled card on the 19th and mailed new one. Should have received it in 3-5 days, not received after 7 days. Phone call Customer service can not locate because it was sent untraceable and too wait until tomorrow. If not received, then order a new one. Now I can not travel out of the State on Saturday and have to wait for card to arrive to travel, Nice Citizens for ruining by vacation or at least at the beginning anyway...

Several times this bank updates it apps and it fails when you log in. It begins adding extra characters that I am not typing. (Only happens on this app) and then locks me out of my account because to many failed attempts. I call customer service (India) and they ask me all my security questions. I answer them all correctly and then they verify phone number, and tell me it doesn't match their records. I've had this account for 17 years and have become a real problem bank in the last two. I've had this phone number for over 10 years and have had to have them reset my lock out several times in the past, but over the last 2 months has been a constant problem with Citizens. Now they tell me the phone number doesn't match on my account (someone switched last 2 numbers) However, they do show both phone numbers on my account, but the wrong one is somehow attached to my SS# and now they cant help me. But when I request a reset code, they send that to the right number. Now they have locked me out of my account several times over the weekends and leaving me no access to funds unless I present my ID to a physical bank, (again on a weekend). In addition, there was a fraud charge on my account, the bank stopped the charged, disabled my card, never sent me a new one. Called me several times to tell me to hold for a rep. 45 mins later still holding...and they called me. I call them and same thing happens. Now I have a Citizens Bank Customer Service number calling me...2 months later. I couldn't answer so I called back within a few min and now had only automated phone options to choose from and none are returning their. All they want is my to put my accnt or social in so they know how to direct my call...In today's times of crime dont make people enter their personal info to return your call. I since have opened an account at a different bank. Unfortunate since this is a 17 year old account and looks great on my credit. But now time to build a new relationship elsewhere and use Citizens for bare minimums so it continues to look good to Credit Agencies. Thanks for letting me vent! I attempted to fill out a student loan application with Citizens Bank and when you get to the the step where you are required review documents you cannot return to the application and need to start over.
Once you fill out the application and need to view the required documents the system will not provide you the option to return to your application to select the box to continue.
I tried this process three times and couldn't get back and lost everything, all the same results. You lost my business for student loans and by the way, I have five kids! I would not recommend this to anyone.

On the 27th of November 2018, I sent an $800 check from my bank (United Bank of Philadelphia) to my neighbor and friend Ms. Plenty's account at Citizens Bank located at 3711 Germantown Ave. Phila. PA 19140. Because I am living and working abroad, I paid an extra $14.95 to rush the check; I had done the same thing 3 weeks prior, with a check for the same amount. This time, however, I learned the check was never deposited. On Wednesday the 5th of December Ms. Plenty went into the branch and was told the check still hadn't arrived. When I heard this, I contacted my bank whose representative contacted Citizens Bank but was not given any useful information. Next, I tracked the check via the UPS website and learned it had indeed been delivered on Wednesday the 28th of November. Yesterday, I participated in a 3-way conference call between myself, Ms. Kenya (Citizens Bank mgr.) and my bank's rep. During that surreal call, Ms. Kenya never took responsibility for telling Ms. Plenty her check hadn't arrived. Instead she claimed the bank has a policy against accepting checks mailed to its branch. When I explained I'd done so numerous times in the past, she simply ignored that fact and reiterated their policy. When I pressed her on what exactly had happened to the check, she responded it had either been shredded or returned to sender - none of which she could verify. I could not believe what I was hearing and because we were on a recorded line, I intend to escalate the matter. Due to Citizens Bank's callousness, I've faced a lot of inconvenience and a wasted fee to rush a check that has disappeared. But mostly I feel most disrespected by the phone manner and behavior of the branch mgr. Ms. Kenya. It reflects negatively on Citizens Bank.

I deposit $400 into an account I barely use. I call the automated and my balance is $258 with two $35 NSF charges. I then obtain recent withdrawals from debit and speak to the branch. I am reassured no more fees, insufficient paid and checks cleared.

I myself work at a bank, and reached out to the Tewksbury Citizens Bank and spoke to an employee Nicki (Nikki) regarding a mutual customer who just had a stroke so was not able to communicate very well. We asked about a recent deposit, and her response was "You as a banker should KNOW that we can't do that over the phone!" and continued to give attitude and questioning my place of works policies and procedures. That was not a good customer service for myself, nor their customer who I was calling about. Very unimpressed, and I feel very disrespected. I recommend customer service training for Nikki.

On September 17th I made an attempt to pay $300 via ACH through the website. It came out of my account and then was returned, I was notified that it was not an accurate account number. I never received a phone call about this. October 5th I received the mail stating it was returned. Thus, I made a payment over the phone with a LIVE person in the amount around 594. I stated my issues and he then gave me a confirmation number and I asked to update my information and make sure everything was correct. I had recently relocated. I was told that my account was brought to current and the confirmation number would be in my email. I was waiting for the amount to come out of the account and there was never anything pending. On October 16th 2018, I called the same hotline number and stated my issue because I was not sure what had happened this time. When I called I was told that my account number did not match because they had added an extra 4. I am not sure how this happened because I had repeated this with the phone representative and we spoke for 40 minutes on how to resolve this issue so that it would not happen again. By this time my credit had dropped because my account was past due about 45 days and charged a new late fee. I was never notified this time, through email or mail about the payment not going through. I am highly upset I keep getting penalized when I have attempted to make the payment since September 17th and it was not returned to insufficient funds but because of an error that was made by the call representative. I have been banking with this particular bank for a couple years now and this has never been an issue until recently. I am highly upset that this could happen twice and now I am in the process of filing a dispute for my credit which all could have been prevented If I would have been notified. I was notified the first time but not the second time. I am not sure the protocol that your company has in place but at this time I am not a satisfied member of this bank like I used to be. I do not know the name of the representative but I also never received an confirmation email only a verbal confirmation. I am sure the phone calls are recorded. I want to make sure this doesn't happen again to myself or others. I paid the amount again today so hopefully it will go will accurately this time so that my credit doesn't get impacted again. I am having a similar problem. I made a payment on an account that posted Aug 19th. It never came through my bank account so I called and was given an amount posted to my account different from what I paid-I have a duplicate check. Have been given rub around for 2 months with assurances everything will be taken care of etc. on my second customer service case number and have made numerous calls to service rep for resolution-none of which has been returned. I don’t understand how this bank can continue to do business this way. I have had no problems in 14 years and now this. They suddenly reversed the errant payments placed my account in their collection despite all payments being made, and have impacted my credit score. I can’t believe anyone there anymore.

I went to withdraw money on 9/26. The machine said 'cash cannot be dispensed' and I never received the $140. The next day on my bank account I was charged the $140 plus withdrawal fee, even though I never received my cash. My bank told me to check with the store who told me to check with Citizens Bank. This happened in June and continues to happen intermittently. It got so bad that my girlfriend who is also on my account could get in to pay a bill but I could not--she paid it for me. In the mean time I had to call the credit card agency and move my payment date back. They said they would and of course I had to call in October to get the service charge they put on there, off. They took it off but that, no doubt was why my credit rating dipped at that point--at least 10 points!
Now, as usual, I cannot get into mobile deposits--try later, all day. When I do deposit, they deny accepting it three or four times every time. I call in all the time and the technicians are very nice but could you please get your computers in good order for once in a lifetime.
You even accessed an account that I had come in and taken money out of two months previously because of no activity in two years--though interest was accruing there. You went into my account and took money out which is illegal--caused me to think that someone had access to my account--all kinds of trouble in my mind--as in credit cards, they charge a little something to see if it goes through before hitting it big. I called in and never got a return call--absolutely no explanation on why you went in there. I just quit Chase Bank for some other atrocities that they performed and it caused a huge family fight.

I deposited a check on 10/1. I was told finds would be available 10/3. On 10/3, I went to get money and was told it was put on another hold until 10/10. When I asked why they blamed the issuing bank. The issuing bank told me funds are available and have been sent to Citizens. Citizens told me they are still holding it and cant tell me why. There is no update an I have a big purchse pending but my funds are not available. I am currently on hold for an hour and 4min. So far to find out why they are holding my money.

My husband and I moved to a different state that didn't have our bank so we switched to citizens. I deposited a check was told $200 would be available next business day and the rest in 5 days. And it was so I deposited a couple more checks and got all my money switched over. A week later they took all my money and put my checks on extended hold. I Changed to Citizen's bank a year ago, because they were closest to home, and since my branch was in a Supermarket, they were open more hours. That seemed ideal @ first.
Citizen's always credited my check deposits next day, as is their policy.
This week, I deposited a check for five hundred dollars, The teller was polite, and told me that the funds Would be Available in the morning.
It was my intention to purchace a certain Pallet of roofing shingles.

The following day, the deposit had not shown in my balance as promised by Citizen's
I called the bank and was told that they, once in a while, pick random checks and can hold them for a week if they want too..
In my lifetime, I've had several banks, and you bring in a check and it goes in your account. End of story;
However, , Citizen's Bank, decided not to do that. They decided they were going to hold my check until Oct 4th, even though the funds were there, and the check has cleared! How can they do that and it be legal?
I feel like I was sucker punched by my bank for no good reason and I am very unhappy about it.
People If you are considering Citizen's Bank, I'd Reconsider! Seriously! They change their policy on a whim... Because they feel like it. They are keeping my five hundred dollars for an extra week, and I'm out a Pallet of, much needed Archetectual roofing shingles! Thank you, Citizens.!
