Hi,
I have had a lot of trouble with Citizen't Bank over the past year. The account I have with Citizen's has been accessed without permission, and for some reason, I have difficulty accessing the account myself. I've gotten varying explanations from bankers at a Citizen's Bank in Boston and the Citizen't Bank in Yonkers. Just now I tried to schedule an appointment at the Citizen's Bank Yonkers and was kept on hold for about 2.5hours. When the girl finally took me off hold, she asked someone else to ask me for my information and asked what time I'd like to come in and that she would call me back to let me know if that time was available. I said I've been on hold for this long and I can't schedule an appointment now?. She gave me an appointment time of 2pm and I expressed concerns about getting a callback. The girl handed the phone back to the other girl and she said there was no appointment available at 2pm today and asked me for my information and when I would like to schedule an appointment. I expressed my concern that I wouldn't get a callback from Citizen's Bank because I never received a callback the other time they said they would callback and that was months ago.
Desired outcome: I want my account transferred to another bank
Customer service is Horrible!
I work for a title company and have been trying to obtain a release of mortgage for a customer who's account has been paid off. I sent all the information plus authorization from the borrower giving me permission to obtain the information from Citizens on 12/03/21. It is now 12/22/ 21 and I have not heard anything back from Citizens in response to my request. I tried calling and I am just bounced around and then put back on hold to listen to hold music for 30 minutes. You can never get anyone on the phone and when you do. they just transfer you back to hold. I have never experienced such bad customer service before. I don't know how this bank is still in business! Worst service ever!
Bank and credit card - Online security
Citizens bank is one of my few financial institutes that failed to implement 2 factor authentication during online login. I have reported to them many times over phone, in person at local branch and through secure messages over a couple of years, with no effect. In majority of cases, I had to explain what 2FA is!
Please avoid, if you respect your online security.
Here is official response from the Chairman's office: "Citizens is not considering the two-factor authentication as a future enhancement currently."
In other words, we do not care about security of your finance.

My Issue with Citizens Bank:
I have been with Citizens Bank since they came into the Philadelphia area and acquired Mellon Bank which was previously Girard Bank.
I have been buying US Savings bonds for over 40 plus years. I currently had several mature . So I head to my branch and I am told that they no longer redeem US Savings bonds. I said I want to redeem them so I can put them in my IRA Account with Citizens. They said that most banks no longer redeem them. I showed them a post in which over 95 % of US Bank will redeem US Savings Bonds. This post was less than 3 months old. They refused to redeem them. What Corporate bean counter decided this?
I find it incredulous that a US Bank refuses to honor a Federally issued note, which is backed by the Full Economic force of the United States Federal Govt. What will be next? No longer accepting Social Security, or an IRS Refund Check.
So I called 3 other banks and they all said that they redeem U S Savings bonds and to come on over.
I not only got them redeemed, I am also in the process of moving all my accounts out of Citizens Bank and will be getting better rates on my Savings, Checking and IRA accounts.
This was not the only issue I have had with Citizens Bank. I had an issue 6 or 7 years ago, where they said they could not give me $5, 000.00 in cash. When I asked why, I was told if they gave me 5K in cash they would not have enough cash on hand to open the next day. I informed them that was not my problem. I informed them that was what started a run on the Banks back in the Great Depression of 1930's. and that Banks are supposed to keep enough cash on hand to prevent this from occurring.
Also when someone has a CD that comes to term, they give you a lower rate if you have it automatically rolled over, compared to if you come in person. what a scam.
I should have pulled out of Citizen Bank then. Terrible customer services, terrible rates, terrible mismanagement. and terrible fees.
I am sure that Citizens bank will not miss me because I am "small potatoes"
compared to the Big wigs. However, when you treat your customers with indifference they will start to complain. Not just to the bank but to who/whom ever will listen. With Social Media today, this can and will explode into 100s of thousands or millions of people voicing their displeasure.

Unethical behavior
The staff at Citizens Bank in Dearborn on15930 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Michigan, on Michigan and Greenfield branch, especially the manager and another staff member by the name of Jordan were very rude and disrespectful to me. The manager even breached my privacy and confidentiality. Jordan insulted and disrespected me, and even threatened me. This branch have made a mistake on my account where money was missing from my account as a result of their inexperienced staff. This is the worse branch and needs management replacement or even to be shut down.
Bank tellers
My husband was being scammed through our bank account. I called the Indiana PA branch (my branch) for help, advice and info at 3:50 pm, they were open until 5:00. No one answered 3 times and the other 2 someone answered then hung up. By the time I got ahold of the New Ken GE branch, the money was already deducted. Indiana branch needs a lot of work! Repeat terrible customer service.
Checking Account
My now ex-husband stole my identity and Citizens Bank helped him. When I was not sound and mind. I suffer from Major Depression, PTSD and Major Anxiety. I have all my medical records. He went into the bank with legal documents that involved a Beneficiary. I am a single parent. He used my Social Security number, Routing and Checking Account number. The Assistant Manager signed off. My ex-husband was not an Authorized user. They gave me an early pension. We have never shared bank accounts. He knew prior marriage my son would always be my Beneficiary and we would never share bank accounts. I have Invasive Melanoma and had emergency surgery. If I had died due to my Depression or Cancer. I have been at deaths door more than once. My pension company would of paid my thief of an ex-husband. He thought I was going to die. He stole a deposit slip from me. The banker has never met me. If I was going to take an early pension I was suppose to be at the bank to fill out in front of the banker the Spousal Release form where my ex gave up his rights to my pension benefit and it was suppose to be notarized. My pension company did not get my auto deposit slip and Beneficiary document a month later. The banker had all ready signed off 13 days prior. I got a letter from Fidelity stating they could not start paying me for an early retirement because my auto deposit slip and Beneficiary document was missing. Which means the banker never had them when he signed off. I am on SSDI and should not be struggling financially. I lost everything because of Citizens. I am 65 was married for 17 years. This has effected my health. I am still under care with my Psychiatrist. This is not the first time this bank has broken The Consumer Financial Protection Act

I went there to make a deposit for my mother at a lower delaware citizens bank and basically this worker called me names and also posted bad things on her facebook about working there. I believe her last name ended in Pryor or something. Im from out of town. I was appalled at the way i was treated and i believe if she did it to me she has done it to others
Citizens bank promotions
I fulfilled all of the requirements for a Citizens Bank Promotion for a bonus of $600.00 to be deposited to my account on September 30, 2021. No deposit was made so when I was connected to a supervisor I was told it would be deposited on October 3, 2021. This did not happen. I called 3 times throughout the day and was put on lengthy holds for 30-45 minutes. On this day, I was again connected to a supervisor who told me that her marketing email said the deposit would be there by the end of the business day. On October 1, 2021, at close to the end of what I considered a typical business day, I called again and asked to speak to someone in promotions. I was again connected to a supervisor that reiterated it would be deposited by the end of the business day. I asked again to be connected to someone in the promotions department. I was told that no such connection can be made and furthermore this supervisor did not have access to telephone or email communication with the marketing department. Essentially my phone calls were all dead end calls that yielded no results. I was counting on this money to be deposited to my account . I believe Citizen Bank had no intentions of fulfilling this promotion and only offered this bonus to lure customers into opening accounts. I am totally disgusted with the treatment I received, i.e. lengthy hold time, being lied to and of course not getting the bonus I counted on.

The closing date was originally 8/16/2021 to 8/26/2021
However, per Citizens Bank Request, the date was moved to 8/31/21.
Citizens Bank stated needs more time to process since they found that a new FHA/Covid regulation disqualified me to obtain a mortgage. I was advised to pay my car loan in full. I used around $7, 000 from my savings account to eliminate this barrier.
On 8/31/21-I was informed I was unable to do the closing. Citizens requested all of my documents to be re-submitted. Besides requesting all documents citizens stated that they were waiting on a document from the Department of Education since they were not sure of my student loan status. Loan student status was clear. Clsong date was changed to 9/2/21.
On 9/2/21-Citizens stated they realized the appraisal for my home was not under my name. Therefore, they had to work on it and date was changed to 9/3/21.
On 9/3/21 they stated I did not had enough funds for closing. An offer to waive the right of a home tilltle and to increase my percentage. I declined since I did had the funds and provided proper documentation. However, I have not received any response but from my attorney stating the day went by and Citizens did not send the closing package.
I believe all of the last-minute inconveniences were 100% preventable since Citizens was provided with all of the documents with time in advance. I resubmitted all of the required documents within minutes of their requests. However, the closing has not happened and today I am homeless with my family since my lease with my current landlord expired. I had taken unnecessary vacation days from my employment and the situation affected third parties not to mention the financial and emotional distress this caused to my family. Through this process, I have been sending emails to Robert Franklyn (Gillmarn's Supervisor) who has been ignoring my emails. I also contacted Customer Service who were not able to provide me with anyone who can help this time solve my situation before the seller pulls out and I lose my deposit. I believe the madness of the transaction is unusual and hope Citizens Bank can solve this situation. Hopefully, someone reach out and provide me with a satisfying explanation. Thanks.

We have ben working with John Sogluizzo (john.f.[protected]@citizensbank.com) in your Mortgage Department and Jaime Kennedy (jaime.[protected]@citizensbank.com) in Underwriting. We received a commitment in writing indicating our rate would be 2.625% with 1-3/8 points. We advised John that he had promised us 1/8 point and he promised to get it fixed and has been promising for over 2 weeks. We have emails confirming the rate and points, as well as the commitment letter.Today, with only 2 business days until closing, John sent us an email stating that the "counter offer" was 2.75% and 1/8 point take it or leave it knowing full well that we have no recourse if we want to close next week. Basically the bank did a bait and switch and now has us up against a wall with a gun to our head if we want to close. The property is located at 310 E Atlanta Ave., Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260. Banks are supposed to have a modicum of 'ethics'. Citizens no longer has that.
Bad customer service
This ridiculous! I have now been queued up for over 52 minutes trying to reach citizens bank customer service by phone. I believe someone to hack my check account and can't even reach anyone by phone to investigate this issue! Wife has auto loan with Citizens One Acct [protected] monthly payment $ 305.72
she had serious auto accident on 2/10 and I as her husband have been trying to help manage her accounts. She has had serial late payments on this account, so last month I sent two payments to help deter future late payments.
Seems payments were made from her social security payments [third Wednesday] which did not adequately match payment due dates.
Pleased if you might forgive her late payments and allow double payment last month to help avoid any future late payments.

This was in March, 2021. We have provided all documents requested - most of them over four times. It was in Underwriting for months and now, supposedly, is out but we still have NO closing date snd our house is to be shipped next Tuesday, 8/17/31.
We have had to use our own money to put in septic, electric, drill well and build foundation as "draw" and loan not completed. We own the land outright.
We have no confidence that the loan will close in time for house to be delivered and we will lose our $85, 500.00 deposit. This will leave us on property with utilities snd a foundation built for a specific floor plan and no house and no more money to get one in next five years! We are in our late sixties so time is a huge factor here!
The bank has now quit answering phone calls and not returning calls either. We are dealing with a person who can't seem to keep track of what has been sent and doesn't seem to have adequate knowledge of her job description.

I became a victim of a scam on june 10 2021
I was asked to open my Citizens online banking. There i was to supposed to see 159.00 annual antivirus fee returned to my checking. The person was able to deposit 5100.00 dollars. I complained and wanted removed. I was conned into charging Macys Credit cards to off set the deposit. 2 hours later the deposit vanished. The cards were liquidated. Please dispute.
Desired outcome: Collaboration with Macys Security and Citizens Fraud to review the Criminal activity on Video at the Flushing New York Macys and vindicate me as not part of this scam but as a Customer needing to dispute a crime twofold.
