We, my husband and I started with clear one in feb 2021, I explained why I need to consolidate my bills
We, my husband and I started with clear one in feb 2021, I explained why I need to consolidate my bills. In the beginning everything and everyone are very helpful and nice. I got call every week for 3 months and when I started to get some letters from the collections office and emails which I forwarded to them via email and got an auto response. Now, we, my husband and I received 3 SUMMONS all from 1 creditor. I called and ask why they have not settled these accounts and I was told that I don't have enough funds on the acct. I asked what does that mean, it means that they only settle creditor at time if you have funds. I said I did not know that so I asked what can you do.? The response is if I have $1440 some dollars to or change my monthly payment from $465 to $1000, which is ridiculous and had I known that this is what's going to happen, I would have just continue to pay my credit cards even though it was really tight on the budget, also with all the credit card pmts we we were making prior to clear one taking over the acct, a total of $700 a month. Now we have to respond to the Summons and we are on our own. I called to sick on the status of those acts that awe are being sued with, no one calls me back and when someone talk to me, the rep hang up on me she said I was insulting her. I called again and ask if there's any update, told me that I was already told what's needed to settle the acct which is to change the monthly payments to$1000 and I said I cannot afford that is there anything that they can do, the rep did not say anything but made me feel that it my fault that these acts are not getting settled. I would not want this to happen to anyone, it's very stressful, I'm loosing sleep and can barely eat and now my husband hardly talk to cause of the SUMMONS. I guess I have to give a star to post my message.

I should have read the other negative ComplaintsBoard.com reviews prior to enrolling with this "debt consolidation" program 2 months ago
I should have read the other negative Complaintsboard.com reviews prior to enrolling with this "debt consolidation" program 2 months ago. I was just trying to avoid the bankruptcy process as a result of this pandemic and was trying to do the right thing by settling instead. However, today I terminated the agreement because it became clear the salesperson misled me on how my creditors were going to be paid and how ClearOne Advantage (COA) was going to be compensated. There appear to be many others who have had a similar experience as me and the Complaintsboard.com keeps their rating at A+? I wasn't able to reach my original salesperson after multiple attempts over the past month. COA pays itself upfront and only a tiny portion of each of my monthly deposits goes to my creditors. In so doing, it guarantees that my creditors will not be paid in full for many years, prolonging the negatives in my credit report. My salesperson said that would not happen, even though the COA contract appeared to be hinting otherwise. But if the salesperson was lying, I knew that I could terminate the program according to Part 6 of the COA agreement that says, "You may terminate this Agreement and withdraw from your debt resolution program at any time without any termination fee or other penalty." Ugh, not so fast... I was informed today that I would still owe COA $3,000 in fees, even for the settlement offer that I denied because it was too high. My salesperson said I could deny any settlement until I was satisfied with it or terminate and walk away. COA is claiming that they "earned" those fees and therefore they don't apply to this Part 6. There are numerous subtle contradicting language issues in the COA 19 page agreement, so if you're considering enrolling in a COA program, you better retain a lawyer upfront (or retain one afterward as it looks like I will have to now do).

I started with them 4 years ago - yes, the fees are horrible and they are not transparent about that part. Two of the creditors were settled for less than what was owed; however, by the time they added their fees, I ended up paying more. I had to settle the 2 largest creditors myself which was annoying. Had to borrow from 401k in order to do that. Now I finished the program on April 30, 2022 - the have all of the money that is needed to make the final payment to 4 creditors and they have not paid them. Their catch all phrase is "we have 90 days to make final payment on the program". Just another way to charge fees each month and obviously not paying the money of mine that they have. I think this is a crime - you take my money, I abide by your program even though you did not save me much money, and then you do not make the final payments - draw it out for 3 months - I am disgusted and will be posting reviews anywhere and everywhere I can - AVOID THIS ORGANIZATION AS THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY ETHICS!
Im satisfied with my settlements and payouts are all they said it would be and they have saved us quite a few dollars... our credit took a big hit but they told us it would. Havent had any other problems other than miscommunication and hope we dont My only problem is communication... i need to know whats going on in a timely manner MY RJ
This program started out very well, but now I am down to my last creditor. They arranged the settlement and told me on 7/1/22 that I had to take the offer even though it was higher than the balance at the beginning of enrolling with them that was inflated by late fees. Now they are saying that I accepted the last settlement late and that they have to wait to negotiate again. I got a loan to get done faster with them, and there is a balance in that account that, whatever is left, will go toward that loan to shorten the term. I am livid, since now I have to continue to have that account drained by the maintenance fees so the money returned is less and less. I was also told that it will take 60 to 90 days after the last payment to a creditor is made to audit and make sure all accounts are settled, which is ridiculous because once they get their fee and the payments are listed, that should be all that is needed. Stay away from this company. They are absolutely awful and will not help you when you see the BS they are pulling.
I am very satisfied with my settlements. Our rep, Justin A, was very knowledgeable and provided great service. My girlfriend and I are very happy with our results.

I am currently 33 months into an estimated 48 month program
I am currently 33 months into an estimated 48 month program. I have made every payment and thousands of dollars of extra payments and Clear One Advantage has added 7 months so far to my program and cannot answer my question about adding more in the future. Try to push you to add all accounts to enrollment. I didn't want two of my longest held cards with my hometown bank to be included in this for credit score reasons but the folks on the phone at CreditOne promised more savings and pushed to include these accounts (America First Credit Union). Both of these accounts were allowed to go unpaid collecting late fees until they were thousands of dollars higher than original fee. They pushed me to increase my payments by 200 dollars for 15 months assuring me that this would help get me out of the program faster. I am currently going to be in the program at least 7 months longer than originally expected 48 in contract and now it shows draft scheduled up to 55 months. They pay there own 'COA' fees first before paying off any individual account. This allows other accounts to continue to collect fees and rise above the original estimate. At one point my account had 14 thousand dollars paid towards the actual accounts and a staggering 12 thousand paying COA service fees. The contract states they only take 25% but by paying themselves as opposed to the creditors first they drive up their own profit. I didn't realize this when I signed the contract and nowhere in the contract does it say it is their policy to pay themselves first in all cases. I am willing to share all specific details of how ClearOne I believe is taking advantage of customers. I attempted to speak with them about these practices on multiple occasions and they basically listen and say that my case is unique without doing anything to help me. I am extremely disappointed and have had to put my life on hold while I make these payments for an unknown period of time.

Steer clear of Clear One Advantage! They charge 25% of your balances to "negotiate" your debts and a "processing" fee. You will most likely get taxed on your income tax for any money they "save" you. Don't USE THEM! I am totally sorry I got involved with them
Do not use clear one advantage. They will lie to you about their fees. I signed up and was told their only fee was $75 per creditor but they took 25% of the settlement offer.
Don't do this program - I'm way worse off now than before. The customer service stinks, they did not call back after calling and calling and now my wages are being garnished, like 1/3 of my paycheck. This will likely cause me more financial hardship.
My husband and I enrolled to reduce our monthly bills at the beginning of the covid madness
My husband and I enrolled to reduce our monthly bills at the beginning of the covid madness. The agents sell you on the notion that once you make a certain amount of payments, you automatically qualify for "their" consolidation program that "they" offer. Then, "they" pay off all your creditors with one lump sum, and your bi-weekly payments become one consolidated monthly payment to ClearOne. Here's what really happens. You enroll. They tell you NOT to pay any of your creditors. You feel good about having less monthly payments overall. Then your accounts go delinquent and your credit score drops worse than filing bankruptcy. You enquire about why nothing has been consolidated yet. Customer service, which is really terrible, simply apologize and tells you they don't have a consolidation program, that this program is actually a 5 to 10 year debt settlement program. Instead, they have you apply for a consolidation loan through an entirely different company. You get DENIED because your DELINQUENT on all your accounts due to THEIR program. You get served legal documents at your front door regarding your delinquent accounts the agents can never find. Settlements take years and your accounts and legal issues go unresolved. When they do settle an account, after their fees, it's the same amount that you owed to begin with, except they keep half of the funds at your life's expense. And, you eventually get harassed by the bulk settlement team to make higher and more frequest payments outside of your contract. They will call, text, and email you 3 times a day, EVERY day stating you have a new settlement offer, just to ask you to add additional funds to your account. Total scam. They do not care about you or helping you settle debt. Talk with your creditors, they will help you more than this program. Go delinquent on your own, you can make settlements on your own for free and resolve your credit issues faster and more efficiently.

This company is the absolute worst. They are impossible to communicate with, even when you have the "Client Retention" direct email address. They claimed they had been "trying to reach me" for weeks and I never heard a peep from them aside from their final "You're about to lose your settlements" emails. AFTER they lost all of my settlements, I finally got an email reply about what was going on. The money was in my bank account to make the payments that were agreed upon and all of a sudden they just stopped drafting them in December out of the blue. No one told me why this was happening and I was left in the dark. Now all of the money I gave them for settlements (thousands of dollars) has basically been thrown in the trash. I will be contacting an attorney to manage the rest of this situation. I wish I'd have come to look at these other reviews before starting this venture with them.
This business continues to send me many emails every day soliciting business. They have no UNSUBSCRIBE link. I have sent numerous emails to them asking them to stop sending this SPAM which is full of spy ware and sometimes locks up my computer and is almost impossible to delete. I am tired of this junk.
One year later and I still only have one settlement on the smallest amount. I have paid more in fee's than I have in payments to the creditors. $10 to mail a check everytime and 25% of the amount settled, their estimates are way off. I would have to say that I think they tell you they will settle for much less and then don't so they can get a larger 25% settlement fee. I have cancelled my account, or tried to, everyone tells me its cancelled and I will get an email in 24 hours, 4 days later I called and they said it was done wrong and its not cancelled? I have $1000 in my bank with them that could have been paid to a creditor but is being held up and I am "supposed" to get it refunded, we shall see. I will call the creditors that have not even been contact a year later and will work with them myself to save myself $1000's in fees. I have to say it started out great and I was very hopeful, but after your 30 days you get very little communication or support. I admit I got myself into this mess but I wish this company was has honest and true as they claim to be.
This is a great company. They are all very helpful and understanding!
I contacted this company on 8/12/22 for assistance with debt relief
I contacted this company on 8/12/22 for assistance with debt relief. The representative Daniel B. was friendly. They are very quick to get your banking information, which is somewhat off-putting. He explained the program to me and we hung up. After having some serious second thoughts, and speaking with a family member who had been bilked out of $10,000 by a similar company I emailed both Daniel's email and Clear One Advantage's Customer Service email that I wished to cancel. (I was within the 3 business day cancellation window.) This was on 8/16. Customer Service auto-response said someone would be calling me. I received no such phone call or response to my emails, but figured the matter was settled, as I had clearly cancelled. Fast forward 3 days and they had taken $101.00 out of my account on what would've been my first payment date! I was livid! I'm already in debt, I can't afford for them to take $100. On my lunch break, I attempted to call their joke of a "Customer Service" line. They kept me on hold so long, I had to request a call back. They finally called back over an hour later when I was back at work. The woman I talked to gave me a canned response that she was so sorry this happened. She said they can't refund me my money back until AFTER it goes into the escrow account which will be on the 23rd! Then she said she needed to transfer me to a "Retention Specialist" to complete the process. I was put on another extremely long hold and had to hang up, as I had simply stepped away from my desk.(I'm thinking that person's job is to try and convince me to stay in the program) I do not want to be "retained", I want my money back! I also got an email from Daniel advising me to contact the company that accepts the payments. Yesterday was Friday, so I guess I will try again on Monday. I feel like they are just going to put me through the paces until I get worn out and give up trying to get my money back. DO NOT use this company.

My husband and I started with Clear One in 2019, We thought Clear One would truly help us in digging out of the hole we got into
My husband and I started with Clear One in 2019, We thought Clear One would truly help us in digging out of the hole we got into. In the beginning everyone was very helpful and nice. Here we are now, two years later and I have a total of 4 judgements against me with a 5th on it's way! When I inquired as to what Clear One is going to do about the judgements, they told me "we can send you a letter to take to court with you" REALLY? This is why we contracted with Clear One...to AVOID this very thing from happening! Then when I asked why they cannot settle these I was told because we did not have enough money in our account to cover any more settlements and we would have to add a crazy amount to our already $740 a month draft. This is absolutely ridiculous and had I known that this is what's going to happen, I would have just continued to pay my credit cards even though it was really tough. Now, in addition to the $740, we have to pay the additional $500 on 4 different judgements! Every time I call, I get told "I have to have someone look at your account, it doesn't make sense" Most recently, I was contacted about a settlement for one of our accounts made payment arrangements and NOTHING happened! I called to see what was going on and Michelle said she wasn't sure, and if I didn't see anything show up under "drafts" then not to worry and they could settle without extra funds. Here we are and my USPS informed delivery shows a certified letter coming in the mail from attorney which means ANOTHER judgement! Clear One has truly let us down. Not only are we paying out more now than before the program, we have 4 (soon to be 5) judgements against us. Clear One has made things much worse for us than they were prior to enlisting their services. What's worse is NO ONE at Clear One follows up with what is happening, what solutions can be offered, etc. yet they never fail to collect their fees once a settlement is made. Something needs to be done

I am currently having debt issues, and out of desperation, I searched for some help online
I am currently having debt issues, and out of desperation, I searched for some help online. I regret not making research on this company. I signed and agreed to a contract with Marvin W on 8/6, but after getting off the phone with him. I searched/*** ClearOne Advantage and I saw all the negative reviews and on how this company is a scam. I decided to cancel the next day 8/7, but as per customer services stated I was not in the system and advised me to call back Monday 8/9.
8/9- Called Marvin W and informed him I wanted to cancel my account/contract. He advised me to call Customer Service.
8/9- Called Customer Service and spoke to Rob informed him I wanted to cancel my account/contract. He advised me my contract/information was not in the system. Advised me to call the person who helped me with my account (Marvin W) & that he would cancel by not sending my account to enrollment. I informed him I had spoken to Marvin, but he advised me to call customer service instead. Rob put me on hold to get a hold of Marvin, but was unsuccessful he said a manager would call me back regarding my issue. I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FROM A MANANGER.
8/9- Called Marvin W once again and explained to him I was still not in the system and customer service informed me that he would have to do the cancelation. Marvin stated & assured me that the account has been closed. I asked him for a confirmation and he stated he didn't need or have anything to send me.
8/10- Called Customer Service and spoke to Bri and informed her situation and to check my account. Advised me I was not in the system and put me on hold to check with the enrollment department. Bri stated I was not enrolled and that more than likely Marin had canceled my account already; advised me to call him if I wanted any type of confirmation about the cancellation.
I should've never called or searched up this place, I am now afraid that they will use all my personal information for some type of fraud.

So I'm just going to share my experience with this company, maybe you will find it helpful, maybe you won't
So I'm just going to share my experience with this company, maybe you will find it helpful, maybe you won't. The reason I contacted them in the first place was to explore my options about credit card debt consolidation. Their ad caught my attention from google and their site seemed like something that might work for me so I filled out the minimal information on the website. Shortly after someone from the company called me but I was too busy to answer. The number also came up as a spam caller. Eventually I got the time to be able to call that number back. The individual who answered identified as an employee for clearone and had my info from the website already. I think it's important to note that it sounded like the employee was in a bathroom on speaker phone or talking from a distance in a room with bare walls. That's a sound that if your familiar with you know what I'm talking about. Anyways first impression on the was the sound quality isn't very professional but I can still hear and understand him. The employee asks for some more information on credit history and the companies I owe debts to. After he brings up more information from what I can assume was an experian report. After confirming my identity he says their gonna put me on hold to see what my options were. I was disconnected shortly after being placed on that hold. I gave it a few minutes before calling back to see if they would call me back. When I called back. When I did call back, which wasn't longer then 5 or 6 minutes from being disconnected, I called the exact same number that called me and that I called the first time. When the individual answered the clearly stated that they worked for clearone. The employee stated that my phone number was not in the system nor was my name after looking that up. I for one hate scammers! So tell me how does this happen, how is this not a scam to get your information? After calling the exact same phone number, the same number that called me, how am I not in their system? Everything about this experience screams scam to me so I hope this review helps others from being scammed.

It was not CLEAR in the beginning, however after months of working with Clear One it was CLEAR that I spent more money, more time and wasted
It was not CLEAR in the beginning, however after months of working with Clear One it was CLEAR that I spent more money, more time and wasted both working with them then if I would have dealt with the credit card companies by myself. They cost me more money and took more money from me then what they explained in their first month of interviewing and working with me to set my debt account up. Then, the icing on the cake was that they referred me over to "their" banking system to pay off the final debt at an interest rate of 29.7% for as long as I could afford to pay them off. Then there were the fees that they charged on a monthly basis that they never told me about until I discovered they were taking money from my account without telling me or asking me (I know, maybe it was in the contract somewhere...). What is wrong with being upfront and honest? The debt I owed when we started was or is almost the same as what I am going to have to spend to resolve everything. The old adage, it takes money to make money; well, they are making money! I was really hoping this would be a good answer to resolve my debt, but it was not. It only moved it from the credit card companies over to the banking account I now have at 29.7% (which has NO way of lowering, even if your credit score goes down - other then to go our and get another loan, with a bad credit score...) But then, who do we have to blame except ourselves for getting in this position. I just wish others, Clear One, didn't pry so one people like me. But rather really help at a cost that is fair, workable and honest: which we found them to be none of. Calls went ignored, I was on hold too many times for 15 to 30 minutes, had their people tell me they would take care of things and get back to me, only to have it not happen until I kept calling back (squeaky wheel syndrome). They must be paying Complaintsboard.com a great fee for them to receive an A+ rating. Or Complaintsboard.com just doesn't know what how they work. A C- rating would be more equal to what they deserve as an average. To all of you that this program truly helped, thank God. Now keep off the cards (or at least pay them off monthly and don't spend more than what you can pay!). Best of luck: be safe and be well.

STAY AWAY!
STAY AWAY! When the pandemic hit, I lost a sizeable chunk of income and seen no other way out. I was referred to this company by a family member, and checked it out. It all seemed fine (I did debt negotiation back in 2010 when I lost my job for 6 months, so I had an idea of how this all worked). This company misled me from the start...how you ask, I will tell you. When I was getting information, I was told that after making 6 consecutive payments, I would be eligible for a big loan, to which my deposits would be used to pay down. I signed up thinking great, this will work! I added 5 accounts to the list, and away I went. I made timely payments for 12 months, and all they settled was 2 of my 5 accounts. Now this is where it gets bad. Any other "settlements" require more money deposited into an escrow account and once you agree to a settlement, funds get pulled from that. Here is a good example of one of my settlements. I owed 7900 to one company...they settled for 5800 and tacked on their almost 2000 fee..so in the end I saved a whopping 100.00,,my second settlement was not much better. Flash forward to last month, one of the debts I owed was stuck in "awaiting communication" status since the beginning. If you remember one thing, remember this. They tell you to STOP all payments, once the account goes delinquent, the creditor is more likely to settle...not entirely true. I followed their advice, and guess what. I am being sued by the creditor for the original amount PLUS 2 grand in interest. Any debt you add to your program WILL STILL ACCURE INTEREST, so when they get a settlement, its on an amount much higher then you originally signed up for and what goes hand in hand with that..their fees. The mislead part I mentioned above..yeah well after I got my summons I called them and asked what was the deal..what do I do now, and where is this "loan" I was supposed to get once I made my payments...turns out...not available in my state! Gee glad I found this out 12 months after I signed up and of course they want me to add more money! If I could add more money, I would not need their services! Thanks to this turn of events, I have to hire a lawyer and take care of things another way. If you have the chance and need help, search for other alternatives...This company does not work for the consumer as much as they do themselves.

First let me start by saying
First let me start by saying. Don't waste your time with this "debt relief," company. I reached out to Clear One to help pay off some credit cards. Like most people I was only paying the minimum balance due on my credit cards and wasn't really seeing any changes to the balance. I owed about $6300 in CC debt. Initially, early on in the process the customer service dept. was very helpful... However, after they started taking payments from me Customer Service became almost non existent. I was aware of the process and knew what I was up against. I kept receiving notifications and collection letters. Each time I would receive a letter or notification from the credit card companies, I would reach out to the Customer service dept. for assistance. Although, I had some credit card debt I did NOT have bad credit and I was slowly watching my credit drop. After 6 months of receiving collection letters and numerous attempts to reach the negotiating dept. for an updated status on my claim(s)... I was served papers. I was served a summons to appear in court to settle a debt. One of the credit card companies had turned me into an attorneys office in an attempt to collect the debt. This had gone on too long and FAR past what I had ever imagined. When I reached out to the attorney's office I found out that not a single dime was sent to any of these companies. I reached out to Clear One over several days in an attempt to resolve and or obtain the money that I had paid, that was sitting in an escrow account. No one, not even a supervisor was willing to help me. At one point, I was even hung up on! Thankfully, I saved my original contract information and was able to obtain the information for my escrow account. I contacted the escrow/payment company directly. They helped me cancelled my escrow account, and was able to help me pull all funds out without any type of penalty or paying Clear One for a job that didn't do. I was determined to keep them out of the cancellation process. I would NOT recommend this company for debt settlement and or consolidation. After having been through this I will never use a debt settlement company again, it's really not necessary. Most consumers don't realize that if you're willing to or can make a hefty size payment credit card companies are willing to work with yo. I was able to negotiate and pay of my credit card debt without Clear One. I advise anyone who read this to rethink using this company.

I'll be honest
I'll be honest. At first I thought this was going to be a very good program. After being in this program for almost a year now, I realize I have made a huge mistake. They are not very forthcoming with the all of the facts. They take forever to "negotiate" your debt settlements so the interest fees and late charges are still building. Before they were able to negotiate my settlements, my balances increased by almost $5000. Of course if they had settled them earlier, the balances would have been lower and the negotiated balances would have been lower. And being in this program does not keep a creditor from sending you to collections. Clear One Advantage took so long that I was just about to be in some serious trouble with some of the creditors. I was led to believe they would keep this from happening. It wasn't true.
Here comes the second part of this program. They have a partner company, ***, that offers you a loan to pay off the "balance" of all your settlements. There is a good part of this which I was hopeful about at first. Once Clear One Advantage settles all the accounts, you can get a loan from *** which will immediately pay off all your settled debts. This will help your credit reports by showing all accounts paid off and no longer in late payment status. There were two issues with this; the time it took Clear One Advantage to settle the accounts, and the estimated loan details given by ***. Also, there is a price. You will pay 29.7% on your settled balance. Clear One Advantage will say they will settle all your accounts in order to set you up for this loan, but if you don't accept the loan all of your accounts go back to where they were, and are no longer in a "settled" status. I assume this means they start building late fees and interest again. They want you to let them settle the accounts so you will try to get the loan, but pressure you to fill like you have to take the loan once they go through the settlement process.
*** will send you an estimated loan summary. I just got my loan summary and it is not even close. The monthly payment is almost twice what they "estimated". I was told that it was only an estimate and no one should go by that. If I could have afforded that much for a monthly payment, I wouldn't have had to go into the program to begin with.
So here I am. I can't afford the monthly loan payments and I have gotten nowhere with Clear One Advantage in almost a year of the program. I'm at a loss at this moment. I seriously ask anyone who reads this review to listen to me and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Save yourself a lot of grief and frustration. I did everything I was supposed to. They did not hold up to their end of the bargain, by any stretch of the imagination.

My name Corinne
My name Corinne. I'd like to share part of my amazing experience with ClearOne Advantage and especially one particular agent named Ruth.
Had it not had it not been for Ruth, I honestly do not know where I would be.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 27 years. I have an advanced degree and have dealt with life and death situations. I say this so you can appreciate the state of mind I was in. My interest was on mindfulness, stress management, coping and communication skills. I worked with many teaching. practicing skills on managing anxiety and panic attacks.
Many things have occurred in my life, personally ( in addition to Covid) and professionally which was overwhelming. Multiple surgeries, loss of income, death, divorce derailed me... professionally, personally , physically, emotionally and especially financially. I needed help. After research and many phone calls, chose ClearOne Advantage...and I am so thankful I did.
I tell you all of this because it speaks to my state of mind. I received a notice to contact the local sheriff's office as they had a summons notifying me that I was being sued by one of the credit card companies. I was mortified, scared, embarrassed and in a panic. I thought I had completed my program months before so to have the sheriffs department in my door step, twice, sent me into a spiral.
I called ClearOne Advantage and was so, so thankful to get Ruth as my advocate my agent.
Ruth has incredible listening skills. I was sobbing, panicking, pacing, couldn't breathe. I was worried about what everyone would think; especially since the sheriff's car came to my house, twice. Ruth was calm and reassuring. She repeatedly reached out to keep me up to date as to where ClearOne Advantage was in clearing up the error. Her genuine empathy, understanding and desire to truly help me helped me be more calm. We brainstormed a plan, dates to speak , gave me her email. She either called or emailed to keep me up to date on information: She'd even call to let me know the was nothing new and she was still following up. It was clear that she was working to find me answers. Her actions supported her words, 100 % . When we hung up the phone, she continued to find the answers for me. She went above and beyond.
Although I had spoken to others at ClearOne who were kind, I am not sure how things would have been without
Ruth. . She is such an asset to ClearOne Advantage. I want you to know that her patience, kindness, incredible listening and reflective listening skills honestly helped me through my situation without a serious breakdown.
I also appreciate and respect companies that appreciate the work of their employees.
Strength and integrity comes from the top down. Thank you for nurturing and embracing that. Acknowledging those who go above and beyond is an asset, not a weakness.

I was contacted by a company using my provided contact details
I was contacted by a company using my provided contact details. A representative named Carmelo reached out to me. He was helpful, spending two hours on the phone to understand my situation and initiate a program. His kindness earned two stars. My husband was working when I enrolled, and the first payment was not due immediately, so I had time to discuss it with him later. After reviewing the company together, we concluded it wasn't the right fit for us since we were current on payments but needed better budgeting. We're now applying a different debt repayment strategy and a strict budget, aiming to clear over $66k in debt in under three years. The company's program could take longer without guaranteed settlements, and it would close all our accounts. They warned about potential creditor calls but provided a contact number for their service. This program might suit those unable to pay debts and considering bankruptcy. For others, a strict budget might be a better solution, maintaining credit accounts and building a positive credit score. After canceling the service, Carmelo tried to persuade me to reconsider, which I found inappropriate, especially since my husband disagreed. In a strong marriage, like my 11-year-long one, decisions are joint. The company should respect cancellations without further solicitation.

Do NOT use ClearOne Advantage if you are in debt
Do NOT use ClearOne Advantage if you are in debt. I wish I have never signed up with ClearOne Advantage. They take advantage of you at a low scary point in your life and down play how bad it will really be on your credit. I pay them 468 per month. It has been almost 2 years in their program. I have given them almost 10,000 so fair. 2 out of my 4 are in collections. One just last week. My credit fell 40 points! That is unacceptable after 2 years and 10k paid to them that an account go to collections. I understand the first account going to collections because if was months after I signed up with ClearOne. I owe around 36k in debt with their estimate of of lowering my debt to around 20k. Sound great right? NO they charge 25% which they estimate around 9k in fees for me. Fees for what? They have only paid off one loan.
My *** debt was settled for around 48 percent or something like that. Sounds awesome! NO...17k settled for 8k. I've paid almost 10k to clearone so far and still owe 8k not to the debtor's, but to ClearOne to close out the *** account with clearone 8k in their fees! Might be lower now since some months have gone by. I mean I pay them almost 1k every 2 months.
Seems like I'm saving so much money but in reality im still paying the 27k out of pocket. In reality I've only saved maybe 2500 doing debt relief TOTAL and I still have my other 10k card debt left. So I'll owe like 18k to ClearOne in the end.
I could and SHOULD have settled with my debtor's MYSELF or filed Bankruptcy. I feel like I was scammed and taken advantage of. They should be named CLEARLY taking ADVANTAGE of YOU!
I also lost $100 on the first account with *** they settled. They didn't mention that when they called all excited about how much they were saving me and I didn't notice until late, AFTER the amount of TIME I could have rejected the offer. With the *** it was 5k settled for 2700 plus their fees. Which = losing $100 dollars. I LOST MONEY.. NOT SAVED.
They have a very CONFUSING site's to access that are not clear. On purpose to confuse you so you think you are saving SOO much money BUT YOU ARE NOT.
I have sent sooo many emails asking questions about what's going on with my accounts that go unanswered. Maybe they are good for people that owe less then 38k.
I have asked numerous times how much I need to pay them to get rid of them..of course NO answer. Do yourself a favor and look at other options and don't call them when you are scared and not thinking clearly. Speak to a Bankruptcy attorney first and really weigh your options and if you decide to do debt relief look into other companies. I still have 2 and 1/2 years left. I feel trapped. I want to know how much I have to pay them to get them out of my life for good.
I've leaned my lesson and will never let myself go into this much debt and NEVER use CLEARONE. I will continue to tell anyone that will listen how ClearOne Advantage is the worst company for debt relief.
They didn't say my credit would be this messed up 2 years later with an account going into collections just last week when I've paid them 10k already.

Debt settlement
This company charges you thousands of dollars to settle credit card accounts but then mishandles your money and lies to you. I've been working with Clearone since Dec 2019. I really didn't have any problems with them until January 2024 when I tried to pay my program off early. I contacted them via chat 2 times to ask how much I would need to pay it off...
Read full review of ClearOne Advantage and 1 commentNon-disclosure of high risk
Non-Disclosure of high risk. Buried information important to decisions. High Pressure sales to change outcome. I have called the Customer Loyalty team six times to determine the results of consideration of my case without a resolution. ([protected]@ClearOneAdvantage.com, [protected]) Continual and consistent miscommunications have occured and I opted to remove myself from the program. A document dated March 1st stated that I have a zero balance and my account with Clear One Advantage is closed. The most significant reason was a lack of disclosure of the tax exposure the Clear One Program represented. None of the literature or sales person disclosed that debt discount is considered income by the IRS. The policy document states " possible income notification over $600". I learned from an outside source, in my case I wouldn't know the the total amount of income needing to be reported by a 1099C until it was too late. This is because the accounts are reconciled one at a time, it is impossible to calculate the exposure during the time of the agreement. The case has been evaluated by Jasmine A. It was allegedly raised to a discussion at a high level. Clear One Advantage states in its materials that e*** case is determined on an individual basis. Facts: I had 5 lines of unsecured credit. *** credit card was the first "Settlement" One account, *** (***) was listed as $17,540.94 when it entered into a settlement. The B of A account is now listed as $15,287.97. I received an email that I had "lost out on my previous settlement of $9,867." $2,252.97 was paid from the funds in my escrow account. The remaining amount in my escrow account is $2972.00 The position Ms. A outlined on February 17th is that I would be upside down is this process, forfeiting ALL of my escrow funds. Clear One had previously lowered the fee due Clear One interest rate to 20% from a previous issue of a lack of understanding of the monies held in escrow.

This company calls my phone 5-8 times a day using different numbers that I keep trying to block. They constantly disrupt my work day, and when the calls come through, they are using recordings that sound like actual people so you can't tell them to stop calling and remove your number.
I signed up with them Oct 2021, the first couple of months were good and I was happy. The payments were being made on time and I got settlements in place. Than bam issue after issue. I had return payments to one account that added fees from that creditor that actually when on credit report for non payment. Another creditor settlement was voided because they broke the agreement by missing one payment. Contacted customer service in August, September and now in November and got NO help on phone I get bounced around to service agent to service agent with false claims. I told them to contact the creditor so I could get back on the settlement plan. That never happened. I also get no response from the customer service email. I regret going with this company big time. All I'm asking for is a payment history that's not on the account website, because my account says one thing and my creditors are saying another and I believe the creditors over Clearone Advantage sadly.
I signed up with Clear One Advantage in May. For several months they auto drafted $637 from my checking account and have never made one call to my creditors. They also started drafting money before the agreed date without my permission. On October 31st I requested to cancel my account and request a refund of the money I invested on my own as it has been almost 6 months with no help from this company. I have not received the money back or a response. I would just like the money back that I did not receive the promised services for as I am now in a worse situation than when I began. I could have paid off 1.5 cards by now on my own. I've invested $2548 and would like that returned.
I have settled a debt through clearone advantage and they began drafting my account after 6 months of the completed debt repayment. I have called multiple times and email and cannot get into contact with a real person. They are taking $328 from my account each month even though my online profile states that I owe $0.

I entered into a contract with Clear One Advantage (COA) in June 2022, I canceled the contract a few days after signing because I was able to obtain a loan from a family member to keep my debts in current paid status. In the short period of time the contract was valid with COA, which was only a few days, they reached out to my creditors quickly, sending correspondences letting each creditor know they were to negotiate my debts. As a result most of my credit card accounts have been closed by the grantors. I contacted COA and asked them to send out letters to each of the creditors stating the contract was cancelled, They stated they did not offer such a service. I asked them to please email me a letter for each debt account stating that COA is no longer handling my debt negotiation, which they did. However, it has been challenging to re-open my accounts, even though I have letters from COA stating we are no longer doing business together, and the contract is no longer valid. I have spent countless hours on hold with my credit card companies trying to re-open my accounts. I physically went to speak with a bank branch manager about the situation, they were not able to help me in branch, we made a phone call to corporate, and now their corporate offices refuse to re-open my account, even though I am current with payments. This particular account had been opened and in good standing for 20 yrs. COA has caused me frustration, countless hours on the phone with creditors, lunch breaks spent on hold, and time away from my family. I would like some help from COA to resolve my closed account issues. Right now I am without the use of any credit cards, in this day and age, is an impossibility not having credit cards. I would like COA to take responsibility for and assist me in recovering from this. I would like them to contact each creditor and rectify this. Enclosed is the cancelation of the contract, a letter to a credit card company, and the COA letter of revocation.

I dealt with ClearOne Advantage. I made all my payments and paid it off early. A year later, i am finding out they never completed the payoff process. ClearOne Advantage did not pay off my debts. I have all the paperwork and i am up the creek. I am terrified that i am going to loose everything to them. I would like to know how many more people they have done this too. I don't know what to do now. I want my funds back that they did not pay the debtors. This is ridiculous. I did the debt consolidating to keep me from bankruptcy. I wanted to pay everything off. They never contacted 2 of the debtors which i have been paying on. I am waiting to see if i get contacted from the other debt they were supposed to pay one. This is like a nightmare. They won't return your calls and they won't return emails. It makes me sick to my stomach. I am going to lose my car since I can't make payments and my job since i won't be able to get to work. This is not how it's supposed to be. I have more paperwork if needed. I have my son's college that i am paying on. What am I going to do? This is completely unfair.
On September 13th, 2022 I closed my account with Clear One because they were holding funds and not distributing them to my creditors. I have a transcript of that conversation. I was told it could take 30 days to return the funds to my account. On October 14th I had not received the funds and contacted Clear One again. I was told that I never finalized my request and that someone would call me that day at 3:15 to finalize it. I have a transcript. The call came in later than 3:15, but I was able to finalize, or so I thought, and was told that my funds would be returned to me in 5 to 7 business days. I took notes on this call. Today, October 25th, the account is still active and contains $570.45. I chatted again with customer service. I was told again that I had not finalized my request. I explained that I had and that I had received the call from Clear One on the 14th of October. I was then told that they 'had no record' of this. I did tell them that I would be filing a complaint with the Complaintsboard.com and the attorney general. At this point, I was told that they would 'investigate' and that I would have my funds within 5 to 7 business days. I don't believe this now. I suspect they will simply keep taking 'fees' for holding my funds until it is gone.
This business continues to call and text me after I have informed them that they have a wrong number. I received 3 additional calls today. When I hung up, they proceeded to send texts that they were calling. I explained that I want calls and texts to stop because I am not Patricia and I have had this number for over ten years. The texts kept coming stating that they were just on the phone with me and ***. I proceeded to call and ask for this to stop. I was told that Saris was just on the phone with me and I hung up. I explained again that this is the wrong number. I told her that I wanted it stopped today. She didn't seem to believe me until I explained that I was going to contact Complaintsboard.com. She then said that she would make a note of it. And just said that it was weird. I don't know if it is a scam, but seems very odd that stop calling is no longer an option.
When I sign up with this company 4 years ago they claim the program is 3 years long and now it's run longer and they aren't helping me to closed out last few accounts I have so I can get out of this program in time frame and can't get any answers on when they plan on finishing they keep hitting me with fee and doing nothing to close out the last account I have should be done year ago

All last year I struggled to make my credit card payments and still be able to live/eat
All last year I struggled to make my credit card payments and still be able to live/eat.. I was current on all my bills. This company called me/debt consolidation help cut down high I trest payments and get out of debt! Even tho I was current on my bills I wasn't getting anywhere so the told me it would be 20 years or so going the way I was before I was out of debt they could settle it in 45 months! I was injured at work and I'm now disabled and I didn't want to let my debt go. I was trying to be responsible and find a compromise! I have currently made 12 payment to them of 200$. 2400$ out of that 620$ has went towards my debt! I have received court summons from one of my credit card companies which they did nothing to help with! I had absolutely no idea until the 2nd court summons came how my money was being used! Yes I knew there were fees involved over a 45 month period... 2500$ however it's been 12 months they've already taken 1467.55 for their fees 600$ towards my debt and even after they knew I was being sued they did nothing to reach out to this company but continue to take my money! Making 5$ a month payment to my creditors and telling me if I wanted to settle this account I would need to increase my monthly draft! They are NOT concerned with helping anyone! Their BLT concern is taking your money! It is so sad that businesses like this take advantage of people who are just looking for help out of a bad situation! Yes I know help comes with fees but to have me stop making my payment so they can reach a settlement only to take the money for their self and leave the person needing help worse off than when they started is absolutely absurd! I feel bad for anyone that thinks this company will help them because they will only help their self and leave you with all the consequences!Shame on them!We are all just trying to survive and to take advantage of people ESPECIALLY disabled people who can't work to try and stay above water and afford food is awful!

My elderly father signed up for this program not understanding what it meant or the expenses that were to come with that he thought that they were helping him when they're actually making money off of him and abusing the fact that he is not aware of what's going on his wife is dying and he is stressed and underdressed with all these other things when these people continue to harass him asking him to send more money when he already made it clear that the money he was sending was too much as it was. Once we got a hold of them and he gave them permission to speak with me and allow me to handle his account they refuse to accept his request to cancel the account are now charging him an astronomical amount of fees for accounts that he's asked to be removed from the program.
I was utilizing Clear One Advantage for debt settlement. I have made numerous attempts to withdraw from the program and they do not answer my calls or email request. I want to cancel my participation and do not want them to withdraw fund my account.
This complaint is in reference to Clearone Advantage debt relief. I been using their service for 2 years since August . I been paying them $550 monthly and they said that they settled with 6 creditors and on the customer portal it says 2 one for $225 and the other for $355! So out of 2 years only those 2! So where is the rest of the money that I been paying in the escrow savings account? Because, when I call you all keep saying that you are in settlements and here is the kicker. Recently, my credit was run and those 2 accounts that they said was paid off was not, it was still there now it says charged off wow. And the balance of my escrow savings is less than $2,000. Where is the rest of my money? I called to cancel the service they said they are in settlement with who? The same settlements well scams basically, I asked will I get a refund the representative said if you get a refund it will be in an email. So basically, I been paying these people for 2 years to scam me out of $550 for 26 months that's $14,300.00 plus, I am in the military. I was trying to repair my credit but, I am in further debt than before! Clearone Advantage are scammers, thieves, and liars. Never again!
COA failed to deliver services and is refusing to refund the service fee , falsifying settlement balance amount, horrible customer service I
COA failed to deliver services and is refusing to refund the service fee , falsifying settlement balance amount, horrible customer service I enrolled 2 credit cards, the first one was settled for $750, second for $3,584 with *** bank. 3 payments were supposed to be made to the 2nd account. The very first check they send had incorrect account number written on it so the bank cancelled the settlement. They didn't notify me but I started to receive collection calls, I called COA and it just turned into a nightmare .. I'd spend hours on the conference calls with COA rep and the bank (almost daily) trying to figure where the check deposited and how to recover it .. this issue is still not resolved. Eventually after about 10 phone calls the bank agreed to reinstate the settlement. With all the mess I was dealing with I told them that I am not going to pay the service fee and they need to refund it .. so what they did is - they reduced their serve fee from $1,500 to $187 but increased my settlement balance by $1,200 (what a fraud!) so ultimately the balance they try to collect from me is the same .. I sent 2 emails to CEO and the team, after which they cancelled my remaining draft of $400 and the manager said she'll cancel $187 service fee but they are not adjusting the settlement balance back to $3,500 and not refunding me the money. They openly lie to you that they will reduce your balance by 25% , but they also charge 25% of the initial balance as a service fee .. that means they have to settle with the bank for 50% who is not the case .. on the first account I ended up paying more than I initially owed . This is a fraud .. and a scam .. I paid them $5,635 so far , 2 cards were settled for $4,364 .. they are attempting to collect $5,984 plus other fees.. for mishandling my account and they are absolutely disgusting people .. due to their negligence they created so much trouble and stress in my life .. they don't deserve to be paid any fees .. plus they avoided me for a week refusing to call me back and provide update on the status of my account

Clear One Advantage will not cancel my account. Per the document I signed on 09.11.22 I had until midnight on 09.14.22 to either email or send by email a signed form in order to cancel. I did this on the morning of 09.12.22. I have now received an email stating that the only way to cancel is to call and speak with someone. I have been on hold and never get to speak to anyone. I want my account cancelled before they start taking money out
I signed up with this company last week. I never received my so called welcome call. They told me not to pay any of my creditors, even though I'm in good standing with all of them. I let a couple of payments go. I was under the impression that they were paying off my debt and closing my accounts and I was paying them off. That's not the way it works! They need to explain themselves better. I just got off the phone with a representative who made me aware that they just took their first payment out today and I have to wait 10 business day's to get it back. This is after I payed my credit cards that they told me not to pay. Now I am in a financial bind! They need to be more clear on what their program really is. I think if they were more clear, they wouldn't get all of these complaints. I just want them to cancel my account and refund my money. I'll use this money toward paying off my debt. Thank you!
Enrolled Oct 2020 - 4 accts - received subpoena/citation sept. 17 2022 on one acct that has not been negotiated (almost two years later). Contacted clear one today and they pretty much said oh sorry nothing we can do about it now that it's gone to legal. We can probably settle for xxx amount a month (mind you if I had been paying this amount on my own the debt would have probably already been paid off. Had I known this I would have continued to make min payment until a negotiation could be made. Was NOT made aware of any of this ahead of time that "extra funds" would be needed to cover accts. Or I would have just continued to make the monthly payments. DO NOT USE OR TRUST clear one advantage!
About 2 months ago, I reached out to Clear One Advantage for assistance for my finacial difficulties. When you speak to them initially, they promise a Satisfaction Guarantee, however, after 2 months, and being on hold over an hour each time you call, they made 1 (ONE) payment on my "behalf," but when I called to cancel, because I had received a lawyer letter, I emailed it in, and called a rep to reach out to the lawyer, but nothing. No call to the lawyers. But, still taking out my money. They made 1 payment on a settlement, when I called to cancel, the rep never said anything about the money being taken from me. He just said, I would get a refund of both payments. I called today (10/04/22) asking why I only got 1 payment refunded. Lindsay and Jasmine (supervisor) said since they made 1 payment they were entitled to keep $377 for working on the settlement. Jasmine, put me on hold and said she listened to the call for that settlement, but said she could not allow me to listen to the call. I told her I did not trust anything they say. And asked for her supervisor.
Outstanding balances on 2 accounts that I was informed were settled
Outstanding balances on 2 accounts that I was informed were settled. My former credit accounts handled through and with Clearone Advantage were reported to me as settled the end of September due to me taking out a loan with *** as suggested by Clearone to speed up the process of paying my remaining debts off and be considered graduated from the debt management program. I have contacted Clearone and *** about this issue because *** collections agency claims they never received the money as promised in the settlement between *** and Clearone on my closed *** Credit and *** accounts. The only communication I have been able to have since termination from Clearone's program was I was told not to worry about it and that it would take a few months to process and be resolved. It is now February and *** Credit continues to call me on a daily basis and I have both accounts on my credit report as collections by *** instead of settled or paid less than owed. I specifically asked for proof from Clearone that the payments were made to *** and the staff member told me that they couldn't provide that they could only provide the settlement letters. The rest of my credit accounts are reported as correctly paid for less than owed or paid in full etc. I have again sent emails to Clearone without response. As the proxy for me and my accounts, Clearone should have informed me that there would be accounts not paid or handle it on my behalf after the crazy amount of fees I paid to have them handle all of this for me. I have been in the process of attempting to purchase a home with my husband since fall of 2019 and this issue is causing me to not be able to. If the amount was for a few hundred dollars i would just pay to be done with it even if I had already paid it. The amount in dispute for both accounts total is $1,368.26 and I am not wiling to just blindly pay this when I was informed I owed nothing else after graduation from Clearone's debt management program and that all accounts were resolved.

The cost of their helping me with my debt is putting more strain on me financially then if I had not come to them for help
The cost of their helping me with my debt is putting more strain on me financially then if I had not come to them for help. Their fee should be last. I started the program almost 11 months ago and they have helped me pay off one of my accounts. We have now moved on to the second account. When I first started talking with my negotiator she said my debt would be half of what was owed which was great but I needed to come up with another $150 a month. I told her I could not do so at that time. A few weeks later I go a call from a different negotiator wanting to discuss the same thing. I told him that I was already working with someone and I was calling her back in a month. A few weeks passed again and I received another call from a different negotiator and walked through the same situation. I am already paying the $289.00 a month to build up my account and increasing in aby another $125-150 is not in my budget. After the first of the year I was on my 5th negotiator and I had another call in plan worked out with her but again two more negotiators called me. The last one called me while I was at work and was going through all of this information telling me what needed to happen and how if I could just come up with an extra $125 a month this could be paid off in 18 months. I agreed even though I was not ready because I felt so brow beaten at this point. When finally had a chance to look at it the actually settlement with the creditor was half of the debt but when they added in their fee I was almost back up to where I started. I figured out that I would have enough to pay off the debt in 18 months with the original $289 but the extra money is so that they can get their fee. I agree that they need to be paid for their serves but not at the cost of the customer they are trying to help. Their fee can come at the end. I have tried to contact them by phone and e-mail but have only received one e-mail in return that was on 2/7 in response to my 2/3/202 email. I then answered them back that same day. I did not hear back so I emailed again on 2/24 and still no response. I sent another follow up on 3/5.

In 2019 my husband and I signed a contract for Clear One Advantage to assist us with consolidating our outstanding debts
In 2019 my husband and I signed a contract for Clear One Advantage to assist us with consolidating our outstanding debts. After signing the contract In 2019 my husband and I signed a contract with Clear One Advantage to assist us with consolidating our outstanding debts. After signing the contract we were told to wait for at least 6 months to pass before they would begin calling our credit card companies. During these 6 months they were collecting $1300.00 a month from us to build up negotiating funds. In this time our 2 *** cards went to collections, I received a court order to pay of which we personally negotiated and paid 1 account off ourselves. This created an even deeper hardship for our family. We had to light a fire under Clear One for them to get involved with our account. Every time we would call at different times of the day we would get a sweet customer service person that was compassionate which was only smoke and mirrors to lead you to believe they were looking into your account. Our many requests for a Supervisor to contact us went unaddressed 9 times out of 10.One negotiated settlement by Clear One Advantage was not paid as agreed with the credit card company, this caused added stress on us to reach back out to them numerous times. After realizing that I could negotiate a lower pay off amount than *** I paid off a lower credit card on our own. With Clear One Advantage making 25% off the negotiated rate I could see their efforts to agree on a higher settlement with the credit card companies was a better deal for them to make more money. My current situation is Clear One has locked our account without our consent. We cannot get our credit card pay off information for our taxes. We are blessed to have paid our account in full but our account details should be available when we request something. How a company such as Clear One Advantage can legally do business representing people while in the background they are robbing people is sad. If Clear One Advantage reaches out to me I hope that they are wise enough to leave a message so I can recognize their phone number the next time they call.

Clear One Advantage set me up with a debt settlement program that is not resolving my debts as promised
Clear One Advantage set me up with a debt settlement program that is not resolving my debts as promised. Last June , after having major health problems, I was swallowed up with debt I couldn't keep up with. I called Clear One Advantage, and they promised to cut each of my credit cards debts down to half, and would charge a 25% fee. They did start off with a good settlement, but paid themselves first, before reaching out to my other creditors. Months passed, and I heard nothing from them. I called some of my credit cards, and they heard nothing from COA. I would repeatedly call and ask why nothing was settled, and they would say they were working on it, that it would take 60 to 90 days in arrears before they would settle. They also complained that I didn't have enough funds to make a deal, but they had set me up on my payment plan, $253.00 a month for 4 years, and I would be debt free. They were also paying themselves first, and monthly fees from *** that held my money payments, also got paid. I then fell for two settlements that I didn't realize saved me less than $200.00, while they were making good money off my debts! They wait until your accounts are knee deep in late charges, and interest fees! They tell you what a deal you are getting! After 7 months, several of my debts were sent to debt collectors, and I was publicly shamed by having lawyers bombarding me with letters about a supposed court case, with my name, address, creditor, account balance, and the last 4 digits of my account. After I complained to COA, they now say they will only charge me 22% fees on settled accounts. This will do nothing to resolve the damage they have done to me. One year later, this company, Clear One Advantage, has destroyed my credit, while making money off my debts, and I don't know where to turn. I lost my job because of the corona virus, and now they tell me if I discontinue my program with them, I owe them $1200.00! One more thing that angered me, is that they took over one of my credit cards and put it into the program that I did not agree to. Please post this so no one else falls for their lies!

What I was told Clear One Advantage would do for me and the reality of it after over 1.5 years are completely different and causing legal issues
What I was told Clear One Advantage would do for me and the reality of it after over 1.5 years are completely different and causing legal issues. I contacted Clear One Advantage after due diligence looking for a credit counseling service. The Complaintsboard.com rating was A+, and the reviews I could find were good. When I spoke to them and reviewed my current debt situation and reduction in income, they convinced me this was the best way to go and that they would assist me with all my creditors and legal issues along the way. The main creditor that comprised a full half of my debt enrollment was a loan that has now become a legal nightmare. I received a summons today and was provided no realistic assistance with the issue and nothing that would equate to Clear One providing the legal support as promised. I was told I could either come up with more money monthly to pay of 70-90% of the amount on the loan in 12 months AND Clear One's fee of over $6000, or I could fill out a hardship letter and send it to the court and hope the judge would see fit to give me a better solution, or I could contact the law office of the creditor and negotiate a settlement myself. Where in there has Clear One provided any valid support in regard to negotiation OR legal by any stretch of the imagination? If Clear One was going to push off a huge creditor like this and leave me with no funds monthly to move into a negotiated contract with them, they should have told me that in the beginning. I could have handled all of these creditors myself - granted, the smaller ones would have taken a lot of time to establish payment schedules and given me some headaches to get it all straightened around, but I wouldn't be trapped between a rock and a hard place now with my monthly payments to Clear One consumed by several smaller debts and now a legal summons that will force me to pay over $1000 more per month (which I do not have) and still pay Clear One over $6000 for absolutely nothing when it comes to this creditor. They set me up to fail or suffer - I did that well enough on my own not considering a reduction in income by taking a permanent position with a company rather than living contract to contract hoping I would have a contract but at a higher rate. At my age, I needed the security of a guaranteed paycheck. I told them all of this when I first contacted them. And now I am totally screwed...it is not fair or right.

refund in the sum of $1,809.000 for a settlement fee
refund in the sum of $1,809.000 for a settlement fee. this service did not inform me of a creditor that i would have the option to proceed with there program and agree to a settlement fee of $1,809.00. i have a few creditors that i needed assistance from clearone advantange to negoiate for future payment plans. the first creditor (***) while in the process of sending my information to clearone advantage, i received a complaint from the constable and later went in front of a judge. the judge handed me a judgement to pay the amount the total amount of appx $1,816.00, which is what i owed. i informed clearone advantage and sent them the order from the judge. the remaining creditors needed assistance. therfore, i agreed to the program to assist me with my debt. a payment plan was set up by clearone advantage which was based off of my total amount of debt that o owed from all the creditors. the payment was set at $201.79 every 15th and 30th of each month. i was paying towards my debt which was a total of approx. $2,400.00 until i received a notice from clearone advantage that i lost my creditor (***) which is the one i received a "judgement" i ask why and how? i was told that i was late making my payment of $201.79. i asked how could that be when i have paid towards my account of approx. $2,400.00...come to find out that clearone charged me a "settlement fee" for this creditor in the amount of $1,809.00 (***) as it was a "judgement that i myself went to court for". therefore, out of the approx. 2,400.00 that i paid towards my creditors, *** was only paid approx. $666.60. and clearone advantage took $1,809.00 from my account for a "settlement fee" i asked them how could you take $1,809.00 from my account for a settlement fee when this creditor was a judgement? there only defense was "you agreed to our program", therefore, we are entitled to charge you a settlement fee for that creditor. i told them they first should of advised me of this creditor that since i went to court myself, and had a "judgement" that i would have to deal with them myself and that they will assist me on my other creditors. i told them that it does not make any sense for me to allow them to take $1,809.00 from me when im trying to pay towards my debt...not add to it. In summary, i asked them to please place the $1,809.00 back in my account to be used towards my remaining creditors. they denied me.

Clear Advantage dishonest and misleading
Clear Advantage dishonest and misleading. I had originally signed up for this program in late September and first payment was drafted on 10/10. After several month of paying $280 a month and a total of 2500+ sent to them not 1 settlement was reached. The majority of my deposits to Clear One Advantage went to customer fees and Monthly Service charges. All the while I defaulted on all of the creditors and now am receiving threatening letters and phone calls. They promised me that would prevent that from happening. The first few drafts that came out of my account came from my checking and not my savings which also was another challenge. They told me they reached a settlement with a particular company but when I reviewed the information I had on money to be transferred to the company it was put back. So where did all my money go? They made a few deposits to this supposedly settled company less than what I sent in for deposit. After several communications with this company they ensured me that there was not a settlement and the few payments were going to regular balance with a high interest rate. I have asked for a refund several times but they tell me every time I call they are conducting an investigation. What kind of investigation takes over 2 months? I want a full refund on the money they took for additional fees and whatever nonsense they stated they did. I am a older woman living on an education salary which isn't much and I put my faith into a company that took full advantage of me and I just can't do it anymore. I want my money back. I have already lost everything I owned and was forced to start over again in my later years. I can't afford to pay money into a program that is not getting me out of debt. Had I seen all these complaints on the Complaintsboard.com I would have surely never enrolled into a program using them as my company. I just wish they would have been honest and forthcoming with me regarding my situation as now I am the one left holding the bag and no money to pay for it. The escrow company says I only have 67 dollars left in my account. How is that possible? I had to go to one of my creditors and strike my own deal since they stated month after month no settlements had been offered. I know people that have been involved with other companies and are already out of debt. I don't have much and would like to keep what I have but if get sued over this whose going to save me then? I just hope that anyone that reads this think long and hard about using this companies services prior to enrolling. Desired outcome Full Refund

Settlement amount offers respecting initital debt amounts enrolled My CC debt reached a point where I needed some assistance to resolve the problem, and on January I enrolled my debt with Clear One Advantage. Upfront, I'd like to say their customer service has been always very professional and courteous, and never encountered any representative who was rude or unprofessional. With that said, I'm extremely unsatisfied with the outcome so far. At the date I enrolled my debt with them, I was told many of the things people mention in those complains: stop paying the creditors, don't accept any calls (change phones on your profile), your credit score will go down but it's normal, even switch banks (which I did). Their catch: all of those facts will help us negotiate a better settlement with your creditors. The idea sounds really promising, and they make you provide monthly payments to, as they say, show the creditors your good will to pay off your debit and at the same time, negotiate a better deal. The reality, in my situation, is the contrary. After a year, none of the accounts was showing progress at all, and only after I called and stated my disappointment for the non existent progress, I started to get some settlement offers with the first of 4 accounts (3 with ***, 1 with ***). The reality: initial debt enrolled, $1622, current balance $2349 (after I haven't made a single payment just as instructed,so lots of late fees applied), credit score 350 points less, and here's the best part...settlement offer, $2249 (fduring two months, the same amount offered with probably 7 different representatives). Finally I do accept the offer as I don't see another option, and when they add their %25 ''processing fees'' to the total, the final amout to settle this account rises to $2654. I'm no expert in finances, but this looks like a total scam to me. I followed every single step they asked me to take, I was patient, I was trustful..yet, I had to settle for $1032 more tham my initial debt amount! What's the point of having them negotiate for you at all? Not only my credit score has been hurt for a very very long time in the future, but they were not able to cut any of the balances off, but wait... I still have to pay the %25 fees to COA for the ''excellent'' negotiating skills...I don't know why I didn't try to settle directly with the banks with my initial debt amounts. Be advised, with their fees, you always end up paying more than you initially owed. Here's my new offer with ***: debt enrolled, $11098, current balance, $13500, settlement offer $10105, COA fees $2770..total debt to pay for me, $12875, yes, you guessed right, about $1800 than my initial enrolled balance. Do they think that we are stupid or what? It's a total scam, a way to make money out of someone else's misery. Stay absolutely away from them.

This company's salesman lied and used deceptive tactics to get our business
This company's salesman lied and used deceptive tactics to get our business. After we started with this company we received poor customer service. When we spoke with the salesman Adam A, he made it sound very simple and would be a benefit to our situation. At the time our credit history was very good, we were current on all our debts. Our problem was we had too much credit and had gone over the limit of our income to pay our credit and usual living needs like rent, food, insurance etc. Adam told us we would qualify for a "state of California program" for people in financial distress. Later we found out there is no such program. He also said we would need to allow our accounts to go seriously delinquent so that Clear One Advantage (COA) would have a better opportunity to make a lower settlement offer. Again, after we started the program, we looked closer at the agreement which said that COA could not tell us to stop making payments to our creditors. We were very upset at the time this was going on, and even though Adam was telling us we could receive settlements as high as 50% or possibly higher of balances owed, when you added back into the figures, the cost to us of $36,976.75, we were saving an amount of approx. $30,000. Our estimated total debts, $147,907, the estimated total cost of our program, $117,309.07. Our monthly payment to an escrow account, which also charged fees, was $2,181. Once we got started, things just got worse. We followed the advice given to us and let our accounts go delinquent. This was very hard for us to do, and it made our anxiety and frustration skyrocket. But we thought we were doing what we had to in order to get out of our problem, based on what we were told. When we received notices that some of our accounts were going to collections or to a legal office/attorney we sent copies of these notices and asked for someone to call the creditor and explain what was going on. We rarely got a response from anyone at COA, and when I would call in they would tell me they do not contact an account until they feel they have enough of our money to negotiate a settlement. The only time they would contact us is when they had enough of our money to negotiate a settlement and needed our approval. We were also told by Adam that we pay one amount each month and that was all we needed to worry about. One of the first calls we received was from a negotiator needing more funds to do a settlement on an account. We had to say we have an agreement for the same amount we have to pay each month and that was all we could do. This was an awful experience, one I hope others will think twice about doing and read the agreement carefully before getting involved. It would be a kind gesture on the part of COA to give back some of the fees they received for doing a very poor job, in our thoughts, and offer at least offer an apology. I doubt either will happen. This company is too busy taking peoples money.

I called to renegotiate terms-told I didn't need to-that I didn't have to pay special pymt- resulted in contract renegotiation-that mgmt would call-2x I entered into an agreement with Clear One to settle *** account *** beginning balance $24 grand. Clear One start date 12/24 given estimated cost of just over 19 grand including fees. A year after having already committed to very high debt to income agreement I was asked to pay an additional $500 dollars a month. I could not, instead an additional $100 was added to my monthly commitment with a 7K "special pmt" attached in about ten months. I called last fall to renegotiate my contract as there was no way I could make that "special" payment and I was told at that time I did not have to. I questioned this and was reassured. In complete disbelief I questioned again, I repeated back everything I was told... A month later a large sum was deducted from my bank account without prior notice. I called, representative at that time said it was a mistake and reversed the payment... I still had to pay my bank overdraft and return fees. That representative also asked why I had that "special" payment scheduled. I told her I was told I had to. Later, when I called to get a payoff amount I was given an estimate of an my initial agreement plus another 6 grand!. Three years of paying $361 a month with and additional $100 for a year, my credit destroyed, and suddenly my total goes back to the original balance as if I never paid a thing. I asserted that if there was a cost incurred as a result of my being told I did not need to restructure my payments when I called earlier that year, the burden of that cost belonged to the company. The mistake was there's, I tried to correct the problem and was given incorrect information, more than once! All these conversations were recorded. I was told a manager would listen to those recordings and get back to me within 24-48 hours, they did not. I called 2 wks later to follow up... again told a manager would call, and that they would expedite my case. I have still heard nothing and can see online my account balance is "jAwaiting Communication"... I am currently in the process of getting an equity loan to end my relationship with Clear One and cannot get a payoff quote. I am instructing my bank to pay the amount Clear One and *** agreed on which was just over 13 grand. From the beginning Clear one right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Initially I was told it would take about a year for my credit to recover. It took a year before they even got a settlement. It has been three years and my credit has yet to recover. The initial sales coordinator said I needed to come up with additional income and special permission for a 5 yr contract to qualify for the loan only to later be expected to somehow come up with an additional $500 a month after complete disclosure well documenting I was already stretched to the limit. I followed up with these calls by email on 10/08 and 11/05 2020 and only got an email response that my email was received and to expect responses which I still have not received.

I Unknowingly paid this company $658.95 for them to settle a debt that they lied to me about settling and they went against our contract In many ways. I became concerned when my credit score hadn't reflected the fact that ClearOne reached a settlement regarding my *** account almost a year ago and that it should've been paid off by now. ClearOne told me they reached a settlement with *** law firm in which at the time owned my debt. The law firm, in fact, took the initial $50 payment which, in turn, By contract allowed ClearOne to collect their customer fees of $399.75 but, all other payments to the law firm have been reversed and they don't even own the debt anymore. *** owns the debt again as of November and *** said there has only been one $50 payment made towards this debt on June 26. No other payments have been made so what were you guys doing? ClearOne made a settlement agreement in which I agreed to. Your company has taken over $400 is fees and payments but you guys haven't been paying the debt as per agreed upon. All the payments to *** were reversed except the initial $50. You guys had not been doing what we agreed upon the ENTIRE TIME. On my account with ClearOne it currently and has always stated that you guys are still "in negotiations" regarding my *** debt but I have an email stating the terms of the negotiated settlement, in which you are able to see it states that YOU, ClearOne, have reached a SETTLEMENT with *** who owned my *** debt so why has my account never reflected that account as being "in settlement" but "in negotiations" AND if it's still in negotiations why have you guys taken any Payments at all? Now something else that's suspicious to me is that settlement email was sent on July 5th and it states that my first payment was made to *** on June 26th which is verified by my *** account so you guys made payment to this law firm BEFORE I gave consent to and agreed upon the settlement which means you guys took out your payment BEFORE I agreed on the settlement. Also you guys said you can settle for a minimum of $600 less than if I didn't go through you guys but y'all settled my $1599 debt for $1120 + $658.95 in fees I Was PAYING MORE FOR THIS DEBT y'all haven't saved me anything. Luckily I was refunded my account balance of $1569 and without a fight because you guys KNOW you violated our contracts in many ways but I still paid $658.95 in customer fees and payments for services that were never rendered! A contract that was violated multiple times and many ways and a blatant neglect to me and my business I'm mortified your company did all this without any regard and you would have kept doing it had I not caught you. I paid almost $700 for you guys to make one $50 payment towards a debt I still have! how can you morally and ethically allow this to happen I will pursue Any legal action I am able to do. I have 3 kids I take care of I was trying to clear my debt so I could buy a house and instead I paid $700 for NOTHING that's sickening etiquette if you ask me and anyone else would agree. I can only imagine how many other people you are doing this to unbeknownst to them?

Poor customer service and communication in my need to cancel the service
Poor customer service and communication in my need to cancel the service. After submitting request for information online through the *** website on Sunday evening 8/23. I was immediately contacted by Clear One Advantage via phone call. The Representative , Mr. C, was very kind and I did sign the e-doc for services in debt relief. However, within 30 minutes or so of ending the call, I changed my mind and emailed. Mr. C and told him I had changed my mind and wanted to cancel. I then went back to page 20 of the e-doc agreement which is the Notice of Right To Cancel. The email provided to cancel the agreement was a nonexistent email and was immediately returned to my inbox stating as such twice. The next morning ,Monday 8/24, at exactly 9AM I called the number given to me by Mr. C and received an automated message saying they were experiencing technical difficulties andthen it hung up. This happened twice. I went to their website and found the number to call if you are interested in enrolling in services and it was answered by an automated message and I was immediately transferred to Mr. C. I told him I wanted to cancel and also of my attempts to email the cancellation as specified in the e-doc agreement. He didn't understand why it didn't work. Then he told me he had already taken care of my cancellation request on his end. I asked for an email confirmation of the cancellation and was told he couldn't provide it but customer service could and he gave me the number, again, to call, which twas the number I had just tried twice and was given the "technical difficulty" message before being hung up on. Again he wasn't sure why it wasn't working so I asked him to transfer me. He did and after about 20 minutes Scott B. came on the line. I explained my need to cancel hat I had been dealing with Mr. C. He said he was showing that Mr. C had "deactivated" my agreement. I asked, again, for a confirmation email of the cancellation and ,again, was told he couldn't provide that, but he would tranfer me to Mr. C. I explained that Mr. C had just transferred me to him, which seemed to perplex him. The call ended with him Scott B. telling me that if a confirmation could be emailed he would make srue it happened. I emailed the my need to cancel to a different email, the customer service email listed on their website on Monday 8/24. I also faxed the printed off e-doc agreement Notice of Right To Cancel to the fax number listed on their website on 8/24 as well as mailing a copy of the Notice of Right To Cancel to their Baltimore office via Certified Mail with signature required on 8/24. I have continued to contact the customer service email today, 8/25, with requests for cancellation confirmation only to receive the same exact replies of them needing more information such as my full name and phone number so that they could find my file. I had previously provided my name and phone number in the email sent to them so at this point I feel like I;m getting the run around. These folks have my banking info and I want confirmation that the agreement has been cancelled and that no further action will be taken by them period. No money has been paid out as I cancelled within 30 minutes of signing up but I am afraid they will still try to draft a payment from my account and pursue my creditors. I want no further part of their business and assurance that my information has been cancelled and destroyed. Would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

Total scam, but I caught it before it got bad. They still got $1,743.00 that I am sure they will keep for doing nothing. Never could contact via phone, email, chat. Finally faxed them a letter terminating them, they called and left a message to call them back. WHAT A LAUGH as usual no one answers you get kept on hold, etc. Sent customer service an email but not holding my breath on hearing back. Scumbags in it to take advantage and line their pockets.
Horrible company, choose another route to clear up debt. I do not feel they disperse funds appropriately as one of my debtors wasn't being paid and I was receiving notices to appear in court.it took me many phone calls and the threat of reporting them to the Complaintsboard.com till I could get that cleared up! Clear One Advantage also inappropriately took funds out of my bank account when my program ended and now I'm on the phone constantly to have the funds refunded back to me. Now I have to wait 2-3 weeks for my money however they won't wait for theirs. DO NOT USE this company!
Very disappointed and very hard to get ahold of .. and didn't get a welcome call like I was promised. I tried to call to cancel and I can't because I can't get ahold of anyone!
