plastic package and grocery bags in your stores
I know you have recycling in store and some of your plastic packaging is recyclable, thats not what I am bringing to your attention. I have long been concerned about plastic bags and plastic packaging on food and other products for sometime. The TV show "The Project" recently had a segment about Ban the Plastic bag. I am really passionate about getting rid of plastic bags to protect our environment. What is coles doing about getting rid of plastic grocery bags and over packaged food? Please make a stand on this to your suppliers. I want to see something like Biopak products (http://www.biopak.com.au/) in place of plastic carry bays in your supermarkets. I want to see packaging of food in cardboard, foil, aluminium or a cellophane products like they use to be. Please help get rid of plastic packaging and bags. I know that the plastic manufactures have strong lobbyists but we have to do something. Thank you for your time and please keep me informed about anything you hear about the phasing out of plastic bags and plastic packaging in your stores.
the coles app
My husband and I had downloaded the Coles app which tells you where to go, which isle for a particular item that you are looking for. Before we left to go shopping we wrote a list off things we wanted. Then we looked on the Coles app and proceeded to write down next to each item that we wanted the isle that it was in, only to find that they were all wrong. For example toothpaste was said to be in isle 1 but was in isle 10. Cobs popcorn isle 6 but was in isle5.Paper towel was in isle 8 but was actually in isle12 and so on. I thought the app would help me get through quicker, but in actual fact it took forever sorting out the right isle.
taking favourite brands off shelves
You no longer sell Coles Brand Chocolate and Orange Icecream,
You no longer sell Aveena Facial Wash,
You no longer sell Ezi-Sauce,
You no longer sell ABC Kecap Manis - Sweet Soy Sauce,
AND you no longer sell Johnson's Baby Oil.
No doubt, there will be other brand items I shop for that I will discover are no longer on your shelves.
I have had to go to the local IGA store to purchase these items or Woolworths.
It is very frustrating going shopping with particular items on the shopping list, only to find you no longer have them in the store, then having to get in the car and drive elsewhere to purchase them.
product
I purchased a packet of Coles Tomato Mozzarella & Oregano last week when i went to cook it the plastic bag was not seal in 1 corner so i decided not to attempt to eat it as the would have air in it therefore could go off faster, barcode is [protected] expiry date is 17 apr 17 250g packet. The corner of pack didn't seal photo attached. I was going to take it back to the supermarket but forgot to when i went shopping last.
checkout service
You are currently running an ad campaign that all your checkouts will be opening and operating. You have issues with your checkout times on a regular basis it is the worst part of shopping at coles unfortunately the last part of shopping experience at coles is the checkout and 9 times out of 10 it is unacceptable waiting times.
I was very pleased to see the campaign that you were trying to fix this problem until I arrived at Benowa coles on Easter Monday 17th April to see only 5 of the possible 10 checkouts operating with very long lines at all checkouts.
15 mins to go through a checkout is unacceptable at the best of times but when you are advertising that you will have them all open even worse. As a very loyal coles customer I felt very let down today, maybe time to give up on the loyalty and look for a supermarket that will fit in with my busy life meet my needs.
Kind regards
Rebecca Askew
customer service / coles merrylands
I have been a customer of coles for over ten tears, over the past 5 years i had to move to other supermarkets due to their woeful customer services.
This store has appauling manners at the checkouts from my experience they re happy to take your money while chatting to their work colleagues, rarely they talk to customers or thank them for their business.
On a number of occasions Saturday evening is lije a disco rather than a checkout for customers, cashiers either chatting to colleagues or secu2 staff.
I believe the manager is overlooked a standard of care to customers all round.
Thank you
I had very bad experience in Merrylands Coles. Each and every team member in this particular store has decided to be rude with their customer.. Whether it's stock check or during self serve checkout or click and collect or even for rain check. They are all mannerless. If it would have happened once than I can understand that may be she had bad day"which is not acceptable at work" .. she should stay home ..but everytime you go to shop and everytime you come disappointed. In my last visit I was after Uncle Robby Plus which I wanted 8 packets. There were none on the shelves. I talked to an employee who was walking there and she refused to check so I went to checkout and asked for raincheck.. she also was lazy and pointed me to customer service counter.. No Problem.. I went there.. An Chinese appearance old lady with glasses"I don't know why they even work here" came and I asked her for 6 packets rainchk.. She rudely said I will give you max 2. "What a customer service". Dishearten I took for 2.
I went to Parra Coles.. I asked for raincheck again.. I asked if she can please give me for 4 packets.. She said she can give me for 6.. Slow Made my Day.
I try not to enter into Coles Merrylands ever but unfortunately I have $500 gift voucher.Once I finish that I will never go there...I have lot of more examples.
accused of stealing when I was shopping
I was accused by the manager at orange local Coles supermarket of stealing Devon when I was shopping at Coles and there was no evidence the way I see it is that he accused me because the color of my skin I shop at Coles everyday and spend over $150 and have no stole in my life this is ridiculous I dont spend money to get accused of this stuff I want to speak yo someone higher then the manager has I see this as discrimination
You probably were attempting to steal, only backing off when spotted. This sort of crap goes on most places with a high coon or ethnic population. Personally I prefer shop in predominately white areas !
coles lite ive oil spread
I know this has been mentioned with the non Lite Olive Oil spread but I too have experienced a foul taste with the Lite spread. Yesterday I used the spread which I had purchased in Berwick vic with a use by date of 22/02/18. I didn't notice too much with my sandwich as I guess the toppings just made it taste a little unusual but nothing I could put my finger on. I had also used the same spread for my partner and daughter. Then last night I used it in my mashed potato and whilst mashing the smell was absolutely putrid and I immediately threw the whole batch of potato out. Today I have been experiencing diarrhoea and my partner came home feeling sick and also experiencing diarrhoea. My daughter has had some stomach cramps as well. The thing that scares me even more is that my 7 month old grandson has this on his toast and we were extremely lucky that he did not have toast over the last few days!
I wish for someone to contact me in this matter as I cannot see any recall for this product online yet I saw today when I went to purchase a replacement spread that there was a label on the empty shelf advising staff not to restock!
meat department
I am a regular customer at Coles earlwood and have been for the past 20years but my recent visit today (10/04/2017) has made me rethink ever visiting again. I made an enquiry about some meat that I thought needed to be further reduced as they were out of date today and every other item in the meat department was reduced in that section with the same date. So I decided to make an enquiry to a worker named 'William' to see whether or not he was willing to reduce them like the rest in that section and he was very obnoxious, rude and impolite and refused to help me constantly telling me that he isn't in charge of the meat. I decided to go to the front desk to see if they could be of any assistance and they called the person in charge of the meat who in fact was William. Every other person that I spoke to was lovely and willing to help except William and I didn't understand why. Such a person makes me feel uncomfortable and makes me rethink buying meat from Coles Earlwood again. I am very dissapointed with the way I was treated and hope it never happens again. I sincerely hope something would be done about this.
bakery department
i often travel to the new hoppers crossing store as they make bread and wraps fresh instore... they make wraps x6 a pkt but today was told nothing will be ready til after 11am... i know bakers start early hours so fresh bread should be made available earlier... reluctant to go back as thats why i use that specific coles supermarket.. have had to wait before to recieve wraps and bread before from same store but never this long...
customer care
What is the point of this website when no one from Coles has the decency to reply to your complaints? In regards to previous email about incident at Coles Hastings on Monday the 3rd April 2017 at approximately 1.00pm. When waiting at checkout, I witnessed a customer wrongly accusing and abusing an elderly gentleman. Before she did this, she screamed at the top of lungs for at least a minute, ( no intervention or sight of security or staff member, ). She then began yelling at him, threatening to scratch his eyes out and attempting to do so, it was then that I, and another customer had to intervene to stop this women from attacking the man. ( still no Coles staff). Same customer and elderly gentleman then had to intervene to stop woman from attempting to attack myself. Fearing for the safety of other customers and myself, I restrained the women by holding her arms down and pushing her backwards, it was then that staff intervened and took the women away. I suffered scratching on the forehand whist defending myself and was left bleeding quite heavily, the only assistance offered was by the young girl at the checkout who gave me a paper towel, not even after a customer yelled to staff "is someone going to help this lady, she was the victim". There were no less than six staff members standing with the other lady and not one uniformed member approached and asked what happened .One young staff member had the cheek to tell that customer to be quite. Not quite sure if there is a resolution to this one. It would appear that staff members have not had training in risk management and has left me feeling unsure about returning to that store again. Has also left me not wanting to go to outside at all. Police were called and as yet, I have not laid charges. Do not know what resolution is going to put my mind at ease but Coles needs to improve on this issue as customers should not have to made to feel like I do after a simple shopping trip.
What is the point of this website when no one from Coles has the decency to reply to your complaints?
coles has ceased to stock purebred gluten free breads
I am extremely disappointed that Coles has chosen to remove Pure Bred Gluten Free Breads from their shelves. As a coeliac I am unable to eat Gluten Bread, but I am also intolerant to Soy as many coeliacs are. Pure Bred products are the only gluten free breads on your shelves that do not contain Soy. Now you have left many people who already have a severely restricted diet due to medical reasons without a bread choice in your stores. Very disappointing indeed. I expect that this choice has been made from a financial perspective and certainly not designed to provide choice and variety in products offered in your stores.
Thankfully Woolworths stock these and a wide variety of gluten free products at their stores, so I guess I will to shop there from now on. We have been solid Coles customers for the past 10+ years.
catalogue
Through stocard you send my partner post code 5259 and me postcode 5290 a catalogue each week approx 44pages, but it is not relevant to us as the prices are not what are in our store. We did enquire at Murray Bridge but they where unable to give us an answer and they couldn't find either what state the prices relate too. A catalogue is a great idea BUT IT NEEDS TO BE THE RIGHT ONE YOUR STATE, improve your technology please!
the purchase of black tiger prawns from cleveland store 4160
I purchased a Kilo of Black Tiger Prawns from your Coles store at Cleveland 4160 on the 05/04/2017. They were hard to peel because the shell was that soft (in other words old batch). Apart from that they were tasteless. Shocking to say the least for the price paid. I would have taken them back but they were only good for the bin. I will know next time do not buy Prawns from Coles.
coles - gluten free banana bread mix
The Coles Gluten Free Banana Bread mix has been repackaged and the product is advertised as improved.
I am a regular user of this product as I have a child has food intolerances. The previous recipe was just similar to what you would find in a café and nobody can tell the difference including taste, texture and longevity.
The improved product has a different texture, colour, look and the taste is not as good as the previous mixture. It tastes gluten free.
It is disappointing that this product has changed as it used to feature on the daily menu of my child as a go to snack/breakfast substitute/cake.
cadbury salted caramel 12 pack
I purchased a packet of Cadbury Salted Caramel 12 pack at the Wyoming NSW store this evening. My young daughter ate two of them and I began to eat one, I immediately found it tasted really stale and my daughter mentioned they tasted funny. I turned the packet over and the best before date was 9/12/16. I do not normal shop at the Wyoming store but it was on my way home from work.
coles brand cockatiel food
I took back a portion of the product in the box to the Coles Forster NSW store the lady at front end rang the store manager and he said he was not going to refund it . then I stated to the front end lady the 100% satisfied or full refund she said she can read and all they will do is send back to supplier, the store manager name was Darren, I'm not happy with my service and can't understand if its stated on product how can he do that
$100 promised voucher with cc now lies and backtracking
Coles - you have wasted hours of my time now - and still not provided the $100 voucher promised when I applied for the new credit card. You promised an approval answer within 60 seconds, and took weeks, asking for more and more information -but throughout I was promised the promotion value, as that was a major point of getting the card.
I then rang two weeks ago as it wasn't in the welcome pack and your representative assured me I would receive an email after my first spend, and confirmed I was due the promotion.
When this didn't come, I rang again today and you guys told me that suddenly I wasn't due the promotional voucher!
I HATE scammy, dishonest promotions -and you guys should now be paying for my time. I have spent weeks organising this card through your very slow, inefficient credit department - and despite perfect documentation and credit rating - they kept asking for more and more ridiculous documentation, and took weeks to approve the card. No other bank was as hard - this is your problem not mine. To this moment you now owe me $200 worth of vouchers with my time.
vanilla soy yogurt
For about 5 years now my son (whom has several allergies) has been enjoying the only yoghurt that he likes which is the Soy Life Vanilla flavoured.
Over the time Coles has seen fit to remove several brands that my family needs and purchases in a weekly cycle. Brands like FG Roberts plain and self raising flours, Orgran Kids GF mini biscuits, and now the pearl of wisdom from Head Office is the remove the Soy Life vanilla yoghurt twin pack too.
Well Coles the 3 - 500 I spend there every week to feed my family will now head a few kilometres away to Woolworths.
Coles your choices suck... to replace this already expensive yoghurt with another brand that is isven more expensive shows that you have no concern for the families that need speciality products only profit per item on your shelves.
Again Coles YOU Suck...
