Reprehensive Failed to show up for inspection/ Reprehensive was Rude
I had an inspection scheduled with Con Edison, the reprehensive never showed up to the appointment and lied about being there. I was told on 2 occasions a supervisor would call me to reschedule the appointment for later that day or the next. They never called. I then reached out to Con Edison for the 3rd time, in which a very rude reprehensive who was of no help to me, in getting what we needed done when it was Con Edison fault to begin with. She was extremally rude and did not assist me in anyway.
Desired outcome: I would like Con Edison to resolve the problem they caused immediately

Gas turned off
They said to be home on Wed 13th from 9am to 4pm because they needed to replace the meter and then check the gas when it turned on. Ok, one of us was home at all times during this period, no call, no message, no knock on the door, but the gas turns off around 3pm. So we start calling around 5pm and wait on hold and finally they say they'll send someone out in an hour. This is around 630pm. Of course no one shows up so we call and are on hold for another two hours, reporting outages. Finally get through to a service rep who could not give a [censored] less, repeats a dead "I do apologize" like punctuation, and says that some one will be by in the morning. Of course we are here waiting of course no one shows. Con ed gives not one [censored] about its customers and there is nothing we can do. No competition.
Desired outcome: Gas turned back on
ConEd severe overcharge
For the last five years my ConEd bill has gradually increased, starting at $97, then $114 the year after, $144 a year later, $181 the year after, and $227 most recently. This was understandable and totally fine. In April ConEd installed a SmartMeter in the house. In May I received letters mandating that ConEd have access to check the meter in the house. I made an appointment and they came by, for the first time in the five years I've lived here, and checked the meter. When I received the June bill it was normal then the July bill was $1, 800! I keep trying to contact ConEd to have them correct the billing issue, no response. Despite that, I received a disconnection notice in the mail a few days ago for nonpayment of $1, 500. I contacted them again and still no answer. Am I just supposed to bow down and pull $1, 500 together to pay this outrageous bill?
Desired outcome: Bill Correction
Unethical billing, blacking mailing with threat to shut off power
To whom may concern:
I lived with 3 roommates previously. The utility bill was under a roommate's name. I paid my shares to him every month, however he was not paying the bill as he should. I so helped him with some months of bill payments using a guess account. After I moved out of that apartment, ConEd decided to hold me responsible for ALL the remaining unpaid bills from all the 3 roommates, which I refused.
Now ConEd is threatening to turn off my current place's gas and electricity, even though I have been paying the bills as I received them.
This is black-mailing, and should be illegal.
Alan
Desired outcome: Waive the claim against me from the previous roommates bill.
I smell gas outside my home. Con Ed needs to install my gas meter outside of my home. They also need to turn on my gas today.
I smell gas outside my house, and Con Ed needs to install my gas meter on the outside of my home. I was told by your contractors today, and yesterday, that Con Ed would be installing my meter on the outside of my home and turning on my gas today after 3 pm. I have been on hold to speak with a Con Edison representative for 2 hours. I need my gas to be turned on today. I need gas to be able to use my stove etc. It is now 9/24/21 6:25 pm and no Con Edison workers have shown up to install my meter or turn on my gas.
I need to be credited for each hour that my gas was not turned back on after 3 pm 9/24/21.
Desired outcome: I need to have my gas turned on today.
Replacement of three gas meters
My name is Lou Dominguez,
On March 15th 2021, I had Aclara come to my two buildings in Astoria NY to complete the smart meter upgrades. At one building, two of the gas meters were so old that the Aclara tech was unable to perform the upgrade and told me to call Con Ed to schedule meter replacement of those two meters. Meter numbers are 2235028 and 2270777. Building address is 24-18 43rd street Astoria NY 11103.
The second building was completed with the exception of 1 gas meter which was too close to the adjacent meter for them to install the smart meter device. I was instructed to call Con Ed to schedule a gas crew to reposition the meter so that upgrade could be completed. That meter number is 2653532 and building address is 31-38 38th street Astoria NY 11103. I have sent 5 subsequent emails to Con Ed trying to find out when this work would be scheduled. I have spent hours on the phone with Aclara, Precision Pipeline Solutions as well as with Con Ed and have been ignored, kept on hold for hours or just simply ignored. In the meantime, five months have passed and those tenant continue to receive inaccurate estimates for gas usage. I would appreciate an immediate resolution to these meter issues since the work needed is simple and shouldn't require more than a few minute each to complete. My email is [protected]@nyc.rr.com and my mobile number is [protected]. Thank you
Desired outcome: Immediate replacement of three gas meters

Customer service representative
I have a complaint to make about the customer service representative who helped me today. She was very rude and hung up on me without solving my problem. I felt that she hung up on me with discrimination and made me very uncomfortable. Now my problem has not been solved. I don't know why my house pays its bills on time and she says to turn off my electricity and gas. I have a two-year-old child at home, and if we do turn it off, the child will be hurt
Desired outcome: I hope a senior representative can explain clearly and help me solve the problem
New Gas account
Building has been gutted and vacant for years. We are renovating and need a basic active gas account opened. When we called to open the account they wanted a deposit of $1155.00 which is a ridiculous amount to request for just reopening an account that has not been used in years. They said the deposit is determined by 2 months of estimated use but this building has not been used so this estimate is unjustifiable.
Desired outcome: Lower amount for deposit to activate a Coned Account
Letters of TERMINATION regarding inspection already completed.
I keep getting letters saying my service is going to be terminated because I haven't had my new meter inspected but it has been inspected and I should not be receiving these letters.

No 220 volts
I operate a shoe store for over 30 years located at 116-14 Liberty Avenue, Richmond Hill NY 11419. Last year a power outage has rendered no electricity for a few days. Con Edison came and was able to restore power to the building. Unfortunately, the 220 volts outlet used to power the Air Conditioner was not fixed. Several calls to Con Edison to come and restore the 220 outlet have been futile.
We have clientele who are elderly and during the hot summer months, the heat in the store is unbearable. We had to endure this inconvenience during the hot summer months in New York.
We hope that Con Edison can resolve this issue amicably. If not we are exploring measures to contact the local news in hopes of getting this issue resolved.
Best regards,
Anibal Nieves

high delivery charges
my light bill is $123.67
and con Edison is charging me a $228.89 +$15.87 delivery fee for my service,
a total bill of $368.43, this is a hard time for everyone, I am on disability income
and this is just not right and no matter how we complain to them, we have no way to turn too for help. every year con Edison has been raising its prices and we struggle to pay bills and meets our monthly cost of living and we try to cut down on usage and then now they are saying no matter if you don't use the power, you will still charge these outrageous delivery charges
Desired outcome: eliminated the delivery charges that has imposed on customers
Unethical behaviour
Coned is charging me a $100 fine because they weren't able to check their gas meter.
I spoke to customer service and before I paid anything they offer me a review of the case. After they came to check the gas meter they say now that the $100 fine will stay in place.
This is just an abusive practice and should be put an end off this.
I ask you to help me with this mater.
Thanks.

overpricing during pandemic
Hello, my name is angela thomas, my address is 651 East 229 street, Bronx NY 10466. i received a bill dated 4/26/21 that had a additional charge of 100.00 labeled as adjustment. I called in to inquire what adjustment because i normally pay my bills in full and was told that this is a fee to penalize me for not allowing con Edison into my home. I informed the customer service that no one has come out to my home and i also reminded her that we are in a pandemic and i was not aware that service people were making home visits due to social distancing. i requested the the charge be removed from my bill and she stated that she could not do that but she would submit it for review and someone would contact me. As of today i have yet to be contacted by conEdison, I've received my next bill and that charge still remains on my bill. I will be reporting this to the Attorney general and the commission on Energy in Albany. I consider this price gouging during the already difficult financial times. i would like to have this $100.00 removed from my bill.
Desired outcome: i would like to have this fee removed from my bill
Exactly the same thing happened to me. I filed an issue with the NY Public Service Commission and was contacted by ConEd Executive Action Group, but they say that the Gas Operations Department has no record of my line being inspected and they can't reverse the charge. I got the feeling he was dealing with a lot of such complaints; I think the best option is to get my representative, and/or the press involved -- Dan Ellis.
Coned crew performance
Case #mc436869
This is a formal complaint filed by jack verrelli, jack verrelli electric, inc. On march 27, 2021 at the location of 226-08 141 ave, your crews were assigned to tie in an underground service at above address. As I had a very important medical exam that day, the owner of the building was at the location to permit entrance to the property for the work crew. The owner of the building was approached by a coned employee on the site, who asked the owner what the cost of my charges were to remove the existing end line box and install a new, 12x18x10 pull box. The owner stated my charges, to which your crew asked why he paid so much. The owner then called later that day and sent me a angry email quoting your crews talk as to their option of the job cost. This caused delay in my payment and some justification from me as to the job cost. This has left me with a sour relation with the owner and I had to settle for a lower price, or start a court order for payment. Please identify this crew and issue a reprimand on their behavior as how to conduct themselves with customers. And to keep their [censored] mouths shut and just do their work. Thank you for addressing this problem.
Desired outcome: They should not be discussing customer/contractor relations
Noisy Plates on First Avenue (and East 40th Street) - Manhattan
I have been reaching out to Con Ed since DECEMBER 2020 re: a loose steel plate on First Avenue ( & E. 40th) which rattles 24/7 every time a car drives over it. Each time I contact Con Ed, a rep tells me: "A ticket has been issued and an emergency crew will be sent out to secure the plate"
It's now APRIL 2021 and the plate still has not been fixed.
I reached back out this past Thursday and Saturday. Was given reference # 26199 with the promise that I would receive an update on Tuesday. No one contacted me with an update.
Why is it taking FIVE MONTHS to have a crew fix this plate?
Desired outcome: Secure the plate!
Charge more if asking rebill for actual meter reading
I ask ConEd to rebill for actual meter readings which less than estimate reading, ConEd use different calculation method(use 180 days or 90 days calculation instead monthly bill 30 days calculation) to charge more to compensated bother them for rebill.
