temporary wire attached to my roof and chimney
Infraction report: over three months a temporary wire has been rigged through a tree, to my roof, around my chimney and then to my meter. It is also spliced and runs 400' to my neighbors home . We have called and complained and have repeated been told it will be repaired but no one comes
This is UNSAFE AND will increase safety issues if we have a snow storm or heavy winds . We write to you Inder this infraction and have documented the numerous calls for safety. If by November there is no repair we will go to the media and hold con ed responsible for any damage
employee
I am writing to complain about the dangerous actions of your employee William Cioffi as well as his racist and sexist attitude posted on social media.
He drives behind the wheel severely intoxicated on new-age drugs which may not appear on drug tests. Please see videos.
His archaic attitude towards women and black men AND women is appalling, and severe repercussions should follow.

con edison low income reduced rate program:
Ms. Inna Kharats
Account #[protected]
1440 East 14 St. #9C
Brooklyn, NY 11230
Ms. Kharats is a low income SSI recipient resident. At the present time Ms. Kharats is enrolled in the low income reduce rate program and receives the discount benefit, but for some reason every 3 month she is loosing her reduced Basic service charge benefit.
For example starting December 31, 2015 she lost her benefit 6 times. Ms. Kharats reapplies every time and every time she got back her benefit.
Recertification is usually done annually. In Ms. Kharats case she has to reapply every 3 month. As per Ms. Kharats she contacted Con Edison many times and she was told that the reduction program is based on the information Con Edison receives from SS administrative office. Clients financial situation has not changed and will not change in the future.
Please investigate the reason Ms. Kharats is being desenrolled from the reduction program every 3 month.
Thank you, we appreciate you assistance.
fraudulent charges
This complaint is to expose an ongoing fraud Con Edison, Inc is.
Since early August I have been living in NJ, Sparta, and my NY apartment located at 140 west 69 street #72a, New York, NY 10023 has been closed and I have shut down the electricity from the main electrical box, only one beaker is live that has a mini Samsung Fridge that spends less than 50 cents a day in power. Con Edison has billed me for the month of August over 60 dollars for usage as 123 dollars for using the AC the previous month when in 2016 I paid $80 for the same usage.
I monthly, usually pay 40 dollars as I don't spend much time at my place, is a pier the terre, how come I am getting $60 for a month when I was not there. I have installed a watt measurement device and I have irrefutably found Con Edison has been making fraudulent charges to customers.
This company practices are in need of a in deep investigation.
Thanks

Placing new meters in a home that burned down
Client name is Joseph and Catherine Do. Our home at 160-22 77th Road Fresh Meadows NY burned down in January of 2016. We have been calling [protected]. The reference number is MC 292624.
The home has been rebuilt. Con Edison is waiting for the Engineer to come and inspect the home. The tentative date is in December 2017. We are a family that lost everything in a fire. We were supposed to be moved home in March of 2017. We have had the hardest time getting the new meters approved. We finally have the account approved but now we need to wait until December to have it inspected. That is not even putting the meters in. We will be homeless by Oct 31st because that need to move out of our rental.
Please help us get the site inspected and meters put in before mid October of this year.
Please contact Joseph Do at [protected].
partial lighting outage in my apartment
We have had only partial lighting in our apartment for over 6 months. My husband has called three times. Spoke to someone named Phil [protected] and he has takes information and then does not get back to us. I have visual problems and have fallen down stairs requiring staples in my head. When I check status of complaint non is listed. We are currently paying all our bill. Do I need a lawyer to resolve this and further payment for additional hospital bill?
None. No contact through Email. Another email would be flofan@aol.com. Or text to 914-490-8460. Just made another call to Con Ed. Now we have to find Electicians # to give to Complaint Board. We used this Electrician suggested by friend because we are elderly and have physicsl impairments. We didn't charge us full amount for visits. And he made several. So now to find his number...again...and call to get his license #. Meanwhile we are paying full amount of bill having only partial service for almost a year. I have already fallen downstairs and needed staples in my head. When is this going to end?
service
Yesterday I took the day off to have the safety check done by Con Ed at 6535 Broadway #1F, Bronx NY 10471. I my first call to your company was at 9:57. I was told that someone will come to my apartment that day. I waited and waited.. At 3:38 pm, I called again because it's almost the end of the day and have been waiting for hours at home. I was told again that someone was on their way. No showed up! . I called again at 6:57. This time I was told that someone was dispatched to come to my apartment at 6:15 and they should be on their way.. Again I waited and waited and no one showed up. My last call at 9:16 pm after being home for over 11 hours waiting; I was told that someone was on their way. It's 6:57 am and no one has called or has come.
Very sad and disappointed with Con Edison.
con edison worker exposing his penis and urinating on my car
Worker got out of his red Chevy Envoy, license plate EKA 3548 located at the corner of 142nd & 58th Ave stood in front of my car and exposed his penis at which point I got out of my car and videoed him urinating on my car, he continued urinating as a woman walked by on the sidewalk and looked at him and laughed as he continued to urinate on my car, this is beyond disgusting and having captured the offense on video I hope this worker is reprimanded for his actions

sexual harassment
The guys currently conducting some sort of construction that extends from 18th street and 20 ave to 31st street and 20 ave. Are extremely disrespectful. Not only that, but sexual harrassment to the women in the area is unacceptable! Human resources do you job and investigate! Cat calling becomes into sexual harrasment! Before the citizens call the cops or issue a lawsuit it's best you guys give your workers a retraining or warning letter! This is a good and respectful neighborhood to have this level of disrespect going on. Let them go cat call other con edison employees!
no electricity
We have not had any electricity since 6/23/17at 11 am. Living in the house is 4 adults and 3 children ages 12 years old, 5 years old and a 11 month old. We have called Con-ed at least twelve time and was told by then that they would send someone out at 9pm 6/24/17. When we called them at 8pm 6/24/17 they told us we had to get a licensed electrician to come check out breaker boxes. The electrician stated that there is no electricity coming in the house and the breaker boxes are working fine. After the electrician called they gave us a confirmation number (BE17034444) to let us know the information was filed. Due to the power outage we lost a lot of food items we had no A.C In the extremely hot weather, no lights nor hot water . This shouldn't happen to anyone
a job not being finished for months at 596 henry st in brooklyn
why is the job at596 henry st in Brooklyn taking so long, at least 5 months.baracades are taking up most of the sidewalk making it hard for baby carrages to pass.also the steel grating is not covering the opening completely and a few people have seen a few rats coming out of there.can we get this resolved soon to many nabors are complaining .thank you
two out of three fazes between the building and street are disconnected.
Two out of three fazes between our building and the street were disconnected for the last 10 months and we have just one cable (instead of three) handling the whole building's electric needs. Our first floor apt central ventilation and air conditioning system needs two fazes to work. Last fall somebody from Coned came to check the system and told us he will send a crew to fix it. Nobody showed up. Last time I contacted Coned two weeks ago and again was told that somebody will contact me. We're still waiting. . In the hot weather, if all 7 apartments in our building turn on the air conditioning, that one last remaining wire might not withstand the load. That will be a major problem for everybody, not excluding the risk of fire.
no show for a scheduled meter reading appointment
We received a notice in the mail that con Edison needs to inspect our indoor meter on Monday, May 8, 2017. They must gain acces to our indoor meter or they will continue to charge us additional $25 monthly. My husband and I took the day off to be home on that day. Since the note did not specify any time frame, we stayed home waiting. I made a total of 4 phone calls throughout the day to Con Edison but no one could verify the time somebody will show up. I was repeatedly told to wait. Around 3:45 pm the last person I spoke with tried contacting a department who's supposed to reach out to the field but did not get any response (she said "unavailable"). She also told me I should hung up and still wait for the inspector, by then, around 3:55pm. Someone should have tried reaching out to the field sooner. On one of my earlier phone calls; I made an appointment for next Saturday in case they didn't show up today but that would be another waste of time! This is extremely frustrating! Infuriating! A whole day wasted! Con Edison must at least compensate my day and explain to me what happened!
ongoing work at jefferson oval, jefferson village condo 3, yorktown heights, ny 10598
Con Ed has been conducting ongoing work at Jefferson Village Condo 3 for over 2 years. This work is an eyesore and is affecting the value of the homes and quality of life for the community. There has been continuous digging and open wires that they cannot seem to locate. There are also large dirt piles that are in several parking spaces meaning there is less room for the residents to park their cars. The Board of Directors needs this remedied immediately. This is the final notice regarding this issue before it escalates.

overcharging
My average bill was always $35-$40 as soon as I moved to a new apartment, my first bill is $78. When I called, i was told this bill is an estimate and will be adjusted when the actual reading happens. However, when the next bill came, the first bill was listed as the same and the customer service representative very rudely told me that no adjustments are needed at the moment. He was extremely rude and refused to transfer me to a supervisor. Then he hung up on me.
not fixing unsafe damaged wires
The coned wires on the street are getting wet when it rain, and its coming in water in the manhole, the wires are not sealed good so every timeouts raining its coming smoke out from the manhole and from the electric box inside the building, its also raining water like a sink from the electric box inside the building,
we call a lot of times coned and they don't fix it.
partial electricity (no 220 volts) at 121-41 238th st., queens, ny. 11422
On or about Monday, March 20, 2017 Con Ed employees were working in front of 121-47 238th St. During that time, I lost partial power at my home, 121-41 238th St. The following day, my electric power appeared to be fully restored, minus my 220 volt system.
I reported the condition on or about Saturday, March 25. That evening, a Con Ed employee arrived and checked my feed lines, resulting in his stating that the problem emanates from 121-47 238th St. He said that someone will have to enter that address (next door) to correct the problem.
No repairman responded. I called Con Ed on Monday, March 27 and again on Friday, March 31... with no results.
Needless to say that to date, my electric service remains in disrepair. I am a 78 years of age man who resides alone, who no longer has hot water or useful access to my electric dryer.

terminating service w/o notification
Very unethical. The matter involved doing a name change. If you have not heard back from your customer regarding name change(not closed account), why would you not reach out to make the resident know that they will be terminating the service, especially if it is noted that a child lives in the residence. That is horrible. The welfare of those living in the apartment should come first. Resident doesn't owe, resident has never owed, and resident was simply making a name change. Because the closing of the account needs to be done first, doesn't mean you shouldn't reach out to make sure the person either completes the name change request or is deciding to officially close the account. Something so important like electric should not be handled in that matter. Will be filing a formal complaint regarding this.
