The old bait and switch
The old bait and switch. I ordered tires and made an appointment online. After arriving for my appointment and waiting a few minutes the tire manager comes out of the shop and tells me they can't find my tires and asks if I would be willing to spend a little more. I stood up and asked for my keys because I'm leaving. He says hang on there are a few other places he can look for them. What do you know he found them. Conrads Copley Fairlawn

Going on 2 weeks I have been waiting to have my blown out new tire replaced by my Conrad's road hazard warranty...2 weeks I have been driving on a donut tire because they can't find the type and size tire they sold me a few months ago...make sure your tires are kept regularly in stock when you buy from these guys.then they said it had to come from Michigan I said I could have driven my donut tire to Michigan and picked it up myself by now...still no tire

I have made my last purchase and my last recommendation about Conrad's. I had my mothers battery replaced on 11/21 at my Brunswick Conrad's expecting a quality job. The original battery had been in the car since it was new. The installed battery was the cheapest battery they could purchase at NAPA. I was not given the option to purchase the better battery. The battery started giving my mom problems during the winter so it is my fault for not getting the car back sooner to have it replace. BUT then to find that the installation of the new battery was going to cost my mother again when on the receipt it implies that the installation costs are covered for 24MTH is very deceptive. So I decided to install the new battery my self. What I found is both dangerous and alarming. The technician who installed the battery broke the hold down bolt and used try-wraps to hold the battery bracket in place which had it broke loose could have caused the battery to short or even explode. I was not informed about the broken tie down or given the option to have Conrad's to fix it properly. Was however asked it I needed fuel induction service, coolent exchange (spelled wrong on your reciept)
Dont trust this place. They lie! Go in for a oil change and tire rotation. Maybe they change the oil but never rotate the tires. Caught them 4 times in a row. They always have some bs excuse. Ive had them tell me i needed new brakes when the brakes were only 1 week old! They sell you tires then intentionaly ruin them so you have to buy new ones. What a scam.
I would never go back to Conrad's
I would never go back to Conrad's. I told them a day in advance about what time I would need a shuttle ride. It took them over 2 hrs to pick me up. I don't trust the mechanics, a number of them are young & inexperienced. When I went to pick up my car, it wouldn't start. They think they left the keys in it overnight which caused the battery to die. They jumped it & it started ok. They tested the battery & said it was good & that it should last another year. I arrived home ok but the next time I went to drive the car, the battery was completely dead. They killed my battery. And they charged me $100 more than what my repair should have cost. Also, they got the interior of the car dirty with grease stains.

Bad customer service, over pices will not price match online deals. Do not stand behind thier work.
If you are a female, avoid conrads completely. I brought my car in for an alignment after I changed some rear suspension parts. I, personally, was under the car helping to change the parts the night before. The mechanic brought the front desk person out and they called me over and tried to tell me that a bolt was seized and they could not align the car. The bolt they told me was bad was a bolt that I had completely out the night before so there is no way. They then tried to tell me to change this bolt they would need to drop the gas tank etc. I told them that is untrue as I had just had it out the night before. Then then said well maybe we can just loosen the frame bolt. I declined as I had already been lied to and I knew the bolt was fine. I left the shop and called the dealer and took it to the dealer. The dealer said that conrads was full of crap and they aligned the car with no problem. Conrads tried to take advantage of me because they seen that I was a woman. If I had known nothing about cars they may have gotten away with it, but I know a lot and that wasn't going to happen. JUST DONT GO HERE. The dealer only charged me $120 to align the car and conrads wanted $100. I drive a Cadillac so nothing is cheap when it comes to that car. Just keep that in mind.
Went to Vermilion Conrad's a few weeks ago to get an oil change and tires rotated , they told me they could not get the lug nuts off and wanted
Went to Vermilion Conrad's a few weeks ago to get an oil change and tires rotated , they told me they could not get the lug nuts off and wanted to sell me a set for about 180 dollars, I have been going to Conrad's for 10 yrs now they never had a problem getting them off before. After the oil change was done I went out to my car and the hood was not closed I tried to close it and it would not close so I called the manager out there he put some oil on the cable and then it worked, why did he give me the car the hook unlocked? Lucky I saw it before i started driving ! He gave me a hard time saying I should oil it . The service there was bad , never had that kind of bad service before there, I think they need to replace the manager .

will never go back there
will never go back there. They "fixed" my brakes. The brakes never felt right and sounded funny. I went to the dealer for a different fix & asked them to look at the brakes, they said the wrong brake was installed. I went back the Conrads, told the what I was told, showed them the paper. The lady that checked me in had an attitude about it. They sent me video of the brakes working, I never said they didn't work, they said there was nothing wrong with them. Since day one the make a rubbing sound and sometimes a clicking. I should have stayed with the old ones. They just don't feel right. But what do I know, I'm a dumb old lady. So what can I say, they won't do anything about it. I hate every time I have to drive. If I could give 1/2 a star.

Scheduling was easy but thats about it
Scheduling was easy but thats about it. My wife was told all of my lug nuts would need replaced and that would be 181.45 for 20 of them. First of all I got all 20 chrome with locking lugs for a wopping 35 dollars at autozone. Second of all only 1 lug was bad the others that I have in my possession are good they did not use a impact to get the one lug off and broke it. Then they said they may need a new stud for the one they broke the nut on and that might be around 100 dollars extra even tho a stud is 2 dollars at autozone. I felt they tried to take advantage of my wife not knowing about vehicles. I also felt the staff was not very knowledgeable seeing they would rather use a breaker bar instead of a impact wernch or a torque wrench for the ONE lug that was slightly stripped

I scheduled an oil change for 11am at the Cleveland Heights Conrad's location and asked if they could have it completed by 2pm. I had to work at 3. The manager wrote customer needs by 2pm on the receipt (he was clearly already annoyed when checking me in). He then said he would call when completed (10/24). I returned at 1:50 and not only had no one called me, but there had been no work completed on my vehicle and the manager sent one of the mechanics in to tell me while he hung out in the garage area smoking a cigarette. I have done business at this location for about a year and a half. I had been dealing with a different sales associate, Al. Since they relocated him, the customer service has been TERRIBLE... What a waste of my Saturday. No oil change, and they didn't even contact me to say that they were not going to be able to get the work done. I will not return! Nicole

The service manager Roger was extremely rude when attempting to speak to him about my car
The service manager Roger was extremely rude when attempting to speak to him about my car. I dropped my car off at 530pm yesterday which was 6/9. The manager Vickie told my husband that my car would be looked at between 8/830am on 6/10. I called to inquire about my car at 1245pm and was told that my car was not even looked at yet. I brought up to Roger that when i dropped off my car my husband was told by vickie that my car would be looked at first thing which Roger in turn implied that my husband was a liar and that it was never said. Roger stated that everyone was standing around when this conversation went on between vickie and my husband and my husband stated that no one was there but Roger and he was on the phone. Roger continously cut me off and talked over me when on the phone with him. Definitely will not ever recommend or take my car back to them. Complete rip off and terrible customer service.

I went to the Conrad center in North Royalton for an Oil Change
I went to the Conrad center in North Royalton for an Oil Change. They informed me my front struts and the rear shocks needed replaced as they were the original and the car has 70K miles on it. And then informed me the rear shocks are leaking as well. The Rear Shocks were replaced at 61K miles. First they were not the original shocks and I went back to the shop that replaced the rear shocks and told them that the rear shocks were leaking. They were not and are working fine. So not oly were the back shocks not the originals as infomned, they are not leaking. I reported this thru Conrad's customer service online and they have not replied. obviously they do not care about my business, so I will start to take all three of my cars someplace else. I hope other repairs we agreed to in the past were needed, but I have zero confidence in Conrads if their emplyee can make this type of mistake of false claim about my car. Good bye Conrads!

Conrad's Tire Express & Total Car Care Complaints 6
Damaged vehicle during oil change
My vehicle was damaged when I took it in for an oil change to the Avon Lake Conrad's on 5.22.23 (see previous complaint at the end of this complaint). I have been going to Conrad's for 26 years for oil changes and tires.
I was told by John after he took pictures of the damage, that I would have to come back the next day to speak to Brian. When I spoke with Brian on 5.23.23, he indicated he was not going to do anything about the damage and stated he was going to turn it over to Conrad's legal department. He was condescending and dismissive. He did not listen to what I said, he was speaking over me and asking questions that he never gave me a chance to answer before he began speaking over me again. When I left, Conrad's that day, I did not expect to hear from Brian because when I asked him what he was going to do about the damage to my vehicle, he responded, "nothing."
I filed the online complaint with Conrad's on 5.25.23. I received a phone call from Brian on 5.26.23 at the end of his work day at approximately 5p. He stated that he had a police officer visit him at Conrad's and was going to wait for the police report. Brian said the officer had given him a website to view the report. He checked while we were on the phone and said there was no police report on file at that time. Brian stated that the officer told him to check the website because his superiors had to sign-off on the report before it was posted (the same thing the police officer had told me when I went to the police station to speak to an officer). Brian said he would keep checking the website until the report was posted and call me back. I waited to hear from Brain and did not hear from him so I phoned the police station.
Brian told me he would call me back and let me know what action Conrad's would take regarding the damage to my vehicle. The following Monday was a holiday so he said it would be Tuesday or later when he called me back. I waited for a call back from Brain and I received no call from him.
On 6.8.23 I called the Avon Lake Police dept to find out if the report had been filed regarding damage to my vehicle. When I called, the dispatcher told me the police officer was a part-time patrolman and there was nothing on file at that time. She told me that the police officer was working again on 6.12.23. She told me to just come to the station that I would not have to call before I came. I was at the police station approximately 730a on 6.12.23. The dispatcher told me the police officer was on a call and would complete the report that day. She said they could email me a copy, and took my email address. I received an emailed copy of the log entry.
At this time, I have not received any other follow-up from Brain or Conrad's.
I was waiting for the company to do the right thing and take responsibility for the damage done to my vehicle at the Avon Lake Conrad's on 5.22.23. I have held off on taking any further action. However, I have not heard anything from Brian or Conrad's. I believe I have been patient and responsible.
This is the complaint I filed to Conrad's Complaint Center on 5.25.23:
I went in for an oil change to the Avon Lake Conrad's at 8am on Monday 5.22.23. When I brought my vehicle in for the oil change, there was NO body damage to my car. I know there was no damage when I came in because I was opening and closing the hatch putting things in my car that morning. I went straight to Conrad's. When I went to get in my car after the oil change, there was damage done to the rear hatch. I went right back in the store and brought John out to see the damage. John took 2 pictures. John told me I had to come back on Tuesday to speak with Brian. I filed a police report before I came back on Tuesday. When Brian came out to see the car, he started accusing me of damaging the vehicle before I brought it in for the oil change. The damage was done at Conrad's. I have been coming to Conrad's for 26 years at times having 5 vehicles needing regular oil changes and tire service. I have never been treated so disrespectfully and condescendingly as I was by Brian. He was talking over me and asking me questions that he didn't even listen to the answers. I would like Conrad’s to fix the damage to my vehicle that occurred at the Conrad's location in Avon Lake. Thank you.
Desired outcome: I want my vehicle repaired. My vehicle was not damaged when I took it to Conrad's, and I expect Conrad's to do the right thing and take responsibility for the damage done to my vehicle at the time it was at Conrad's.
I paid Conrad's Tire express in Vermilion Ohio to replace timing belt and water pump
I paid Conrad's Tire express in Vermilion Ohio to replace timing belt and water pump. Car was returned to me with the check engine light on. Service manager said it was due to engine damage from broken timing belt. Drove the car home to Pennsylvania and had a local mechanic address the check engine light. He discovered the timing belt was improperly installed. The bill to correct faulty work from Conrad's was $600.00.

on 1/25, I took my *** into Conrads for a routine oil change. Services were completed and my car was returned to me that day. On 2/22 while driving home from work to *** from Willoughby, OH my car suddenly made a loud cracking noise and my car went utterly limp and stopped accelerating or running. I pulled over on the side of the road and opened my engine compartment and there was a fire. I immediately called 911 and was dispatched a Highway State Patrolman and a Fire Crew. After the car was safe to be around again the towing company, the highway state patrolman, and myself all noticed that my oil cap was left off of my engine causing oil loss and the engine to seize and causing the fire. Conrads has since offered me a reimbursement of the oil change while I am here put in danger from this situation, my wife and children who also rode in my car were put in danger and now with no vehicle to get to and from work.
I have booked my appointment for tire rotation\balance and alignment check, 2 weeks ahead. On 10/7, I dropped off my car before 9 am. ***, the front desk rep, told me it would be done by 6 pm, he would call me regarding the alignment. Well, he didn't call, so I called at 5pm, was told the car has not been worked on yet. I arrived at 5:45pm, my car was still parked at the same spot from the morning. While I was talking to ***, 5:50pm, the tech finally grabbed the key and drove my car in. ***, making all excuses of why my car was not being handled, and had never apologized for once. Despite the fact that I booked my appointment 2 weeks ahead, and Conrad had the car for almost 9hrs. I understand wait-in customers have precedent before drop-off customers, BUT Conrad still have to service my car! *** said they could still have my car done, but, he didn't know when. At this point, I wasted the entire day without my car and had to arrange drop off and pick up with friend and family.

On 2.26 I had a valve cover gasket, intake manifold gasket, front crank seal replaced, I was still having issues with the oil leak so I took my car back on 4/3 and the reworked the front crank seal. On 12./9 I took it to a local shop in NC because I have moved and the shop said it was still leaking, oil all over the place underneath my car and that the seals were still leaking and that nothing had been done and there are no wrench marks to show that anything had been removed to fix the issues as originally stated in February. I have been supplied pictures showing that nothing had been done and no wrench marks to remove parts to fix the issues. Conrads gave me a 12 month 12,000 warranty on the job, however I no longer live in Ohio.

In October , I came in to Conrads located in Mentor to get my heater looked at because it was blowing cold air. They recommended getting my thermostat replaced and getting a few hoses replaced. I paid $256.71 to get my thermostat replaced. I came in January with the same issue and they reworked clamps and topped off coolant. I came in 1/8 with the same issue of my heater blowing cold air and my temperature gauge on my dashboard was not moving. They looked at it and said they smelled a coolant leak but could not find it. They said they topped off the coolant and the temperature gauge was working. As I drove home, I noticed my gauge never moved and my vents were blowing cold air. I called them and they said the gauge was at half and that it could be my head gasket. I decided to take my car elsewhere to another car place called on 1/12. I called for an update at the new mechanic and they told me that it was my thermostat and that it had never been replaced by Conrads! They also said that they found no leak of coolant and my head gasket was fine. My new mechanic replaced my thermostat and water outlet. Now both my heaters and temperature gauge is working perfectly.

On April 9, I brought my car into the Conrad's on Fulton RD in Canton, Oh for new brakes. Upon getting the car into the garage, I was told that my car didn't need new brakes, that they just needed maintenance. The next day, when I applied the brakes, they would screech at times. Fast forward to June 6th, I was driving my car and it started to sound like I had a flat tire. It also acted as if it didn't want to go and made a loud roaring noise. Pulled into a gas station, checked tires and they seemed fine. Got my car home and made an appointment w/ my dealership where I purchased. Took my car in and upon inspection, the mechanic found that my entire brake assembly needed replaced, including the brake line and caliper and rotors! I paid $244 for service at Conrads! Now, I have to pay $900 for damage I feel could've been prevented! All I want is my money back from Conrads as I feel that they didn't do their job!

I purchased 5 steel wheels that were guaranteed to be refurbished. They rusted immediately. Even the one in the trunk rusted. They were not refurbished. They were painted over the rust. The car has been garaged and has 62 miles since purchasing the wheels. They will not do anything about it.

I had taken my car in for a routine oil change as well as have a system light looked at & fixed. The light was for my charging system, which they said could be an alternator. They made me aware it may not fix the problem, but I said ok. They call me up later that day letting me know the car was ready. I go to pick it up & before I can even leave the parking lot the light comes on yet again. From my point of view I see a business pumping out orders as fast as they can without checking for quality or accuracy of the work done. Their is absolutely no reason they should have giving me my car back without testing & making sure that the light was off. As compensation they offered a free diagnostics test to find the problem. I received a call later saying they didn't have the light come on, which is quite comical considering it still comes on every single day for me after they supposedly fixed it (came on 3 times alone when I drove the 5 or so minutes to drop it back off)!

It has bothered me so much that I have been charged at least 3 times for evaluation fees within a 9-month period for issues with my vehicle when all issues should have been detected from one thorough evaluation. I say at least 3 evaluation charges because it had become cumbersome trying to keep invoice files for all of the work I was getting done at Conrad's. I feel that I was overcharged for a/c work, repeatedly charged for same issue with me not being able to view my monitor when I'm backing up. I was refunded $100 for an issue to have a/c work done when I was repeatedly rescheduled so that other customers' work could be done with REALLY bothered me because of all of the money I had already spent with Conrad's! I asked Conrad's if I should take my car to the dealer for better pricing and a better chance of addressing my issue with not being able to view the monitor when I backing up and also if the dealer was likely to charge me less for a/c work and all the rest of the work. Conrad's was adamant that they was providing me the best price. I had gone to Conrad's for all of my previous vehicles but now I strongly feel ripped off. I have lost sleep many nights about this matter. I have been a loyal customer to Conrad's. I am a AAA plus member and am considering reporting this matter to AAA as well as county/us consumer affairs. Note" I am STILL having issues with being able to view the monitor when I am backing up. However, I refuse to return to Conrad's. Also, I occasionally get a notice that my tire sensor is faulty. I believe the electronic communication system is shorting somewhere and is a fairly easy fix by an honest business.

Conrad’s Willoughby recent manager as of 10/30/23 is a disappointment .Women Beware!
Just like the other customer only I went in for a SET of wipers. Told him I’d return later after work and would make an appt. He said no worries it’ll only take 5 min and we’ll have you right out. It took 30 mins come to find out my keys were sitting behind the counter for 20 of them. At the end of a very upsetting visit (details below) I ended up paying 32.00 for one wiper for my car because he lied and said my vehicle only took this “particular clip “to install them and he only had one at the time and it so happens to be the drivers side, so it’s raining heavily I bit. He says we get a shipment in a couple of weeks for the passenger side (Odd) but ok I’ll be back for the passenger side
Came back and the whole story took a totally new direction. Oh that was for 1 wiper I’m told.. I later found from VW that I got screwed also the other Conrad worker told me that they sale 3 types and of course the others were much cheaper.mind u he never said I had those options actually I didn’t mind the high price although I knew their price had to be jacked up higher I’m getting a Set of new wipers and I’ll make 3 payments on my card and done. ( my initial goal) Not such a big deal if I get what I came for & bcuz he told me it eliminates snow collection but it was suppose to be two and I came in telling him I needed to use my Firestone card because it had been awhile since using it there since now I’m in a new car. He looked me up in the system took my card (after install”. Card not working. After calling to find out why, I’m told Firestone stopped all dealings with Conrad’s. Well shouldn’t the”MGR” know this? He swiped that card again and again stating “I know we take this card I have no idea why this is happening” So I’m paying on another credit card I did not want to use and ended up still a zero balance on my Firestone and still 1less wiper. The day I returned to let him know I was very displeased and felt taken advantage of He laughed in my face got really loud and rude in front of the other customers “ If you want another wiper from me your going to pay for it!
I hate this company no wonders why people have talked bad about them although I always enjoyed being a customer years earlier and only had 1 issue that the othe manager called me back in for and handled it with a very sincere apology. And all of this because I wanted a SET of wipers and get use of my Firestone.Wow, Wow, Wow.
