Vacant electric and service charges
Last year I moved into a new unit in the same building I have been living for more than a year and utilities were billed by the apartment's management. Since I moved into the new unit, Conservice took over and it has been a disaster. I contacted the electricity company to begin my new service and apparently the company had "entered my address incorrectly" and they had been sending my bills to the management for a couple months. One fine day I see my monthly utility bill skyrocketed to a ridiculous amount and the reason behind it was "Conservice" who was imposing vacant electric and service charges. I immediately contacted Conservice and got ton know what was happening and it required a conference call with the electricity company to resolve the issue. I spent more than two weeks and the representative from Conservice understood that I am not at fault. He assured me that he would rise a ticket to waive off all the "vacant service charges" and I must pay only the outstanding amount (that is the electricity bill for the previous months). Fair and reasonable right?
I still saw the vacant service charges popping up on my bills and contacted Conservice and the response I received was shocking. The agent who made the conference call "forgot to put in a request to waive off my service charges". How convenient and irresponsible for them to provide me such statements? They must have contacted me first and given me a "heads up" that something went wrong with my electric bills and then taken an action. I am determined to file a lawsuit against them.
Desired outcome: I would like to get my vacant service charges waived off as per their assurance.
The proof where the Conservice agent casually informed me that the agent had "forgotten" to put in a request to waive off the vacant service charges
Outrageous bill and no good answers
Yes I just moved into Creekside Apartments and am low income. When I recieved the Conservice utility bill I was astounded at the amount and knew right away something was wrong legally and did find a lawsuit w9n by a tenant regarding it, not really surprisingly, took less than a minute and uts downloadable. The bill is now over two hundred excluding the pg and e which here is ridiculously high considering on my last apartment I had my son who was gaming on his computer and Tv sets. Anyway I've been paying after every month I lived here starting on Feb. For January. Besides management here bring highly irresponsible and having t9 prove payments lost. It's majes no sense why I owe anything fir March. Ive been paying fir the month prior after every mo. And on the phone I get the worst lies ever told by conservice. They don't have records of my bills is one because I pay through this place which has made things impossible fir ne financially. . I have proof even
Desired outcome: A serious look at my bills and why your customer service people lie. . Males zero sense
Water/Sewer
March 2023 I was informed of under billing in 2022 by seeing an extra $60 charge. I was not notified by Conservice or property manager, just given extra charges and told i had to pay. Given no proof of under billing. If this is a property management mistake in billing why is the entire complex being made to pay. I was told by a Conservice representative that my meter was turned up to 7.5 please extra why this happened. I've lived here 4 years bill never more than $60 now it's well over $100. Please explain with proof of under billing.
Desired outcome: An Explanation. All extra billing charges I've paid since March 2023 reimbursed to me and everyone in the complex that has paid. An apology for the extra added stress this has caused me personally.
Water bill
I have lived in the same complex since 2020, and recently switched apartments in January. My first water/sewer/trash bill was $124.67, which included a $50 vacant service fee for my old apartment. Second bill was $62.74, which was a little higher due to being in a larger apartment, but on par with my previous bills. This months bill… $268.53. More than 4.5x last months bill. The meter reading on the bill does not match what the meter in my apartment is and its implying we somehow went from consuming 1096 gallons our first bill, then 896 gallons our second, to 11,529 gallons our third. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with one other person. There is no possible way we could have used that many gallons of water in a month, unless we had left all the sinks/showers running all month, which we didn’t.
Desired outcome: I would like a response and an explanation
Water/sewer
How is it possible my monthly bill was this
SERVICE TYPE SERVICE PERIOD CHARGES
Water Base Charge 02/01/2023 - 03/01/2023 $10.49
Sewer 02/01/2023 - 03/01/2023 $257.75
Sewer Base 02/01/2023 - 03/01/2023 $10.38
Water 02/01/2023 - 03/01/2023 $172.91
Service Fee Conservice is a service provider contracted to prepare monthly statements and provide conservation resources. $4.65
Current Utility Charges Due the later of 15 days after this bill is mailed or 04/01/2023 $456.18
Desired outcome: Nothing changed during this month. My bill should reflect uage of every other month I have lived here. I would like a refund of this OVERCHARGING. Which I have read is a common occurance for your unethical company.
Electricity and water
I have never experienced such high charges on my electricity . This company keeps increasing electricity bill every month . It went from $296.00 in November of last year to $419.00 in March 2023. It is projected to even be higher next month getting to $505.56. I understand we are using electricity for heating , but this is ridiculous. There is no real breakdown of what the charges are. I do not own a business. Can someone tell me what is going on?
Incorrect utility meter and billing
My electric bill has more than tripled since last month (Comparing January and February). When looking at the bill reading, graph and reading are not accurate, and the company is expecting customers to pay whatever they want. The total electricity used on February is reporting about 1700 kWh, but for the past 3 months, average total electricity usage is 500 kWh. It's not comparing summer month to winter month, but the SAME winter months. It just doesn't add up where 1200 extra kWh came from.
Desired outcome: refund over the actual charge.
higher than normal bills
i am being over charger for my Gas , sewer and water . My bill went from being 400 to over 1,000.00 per month. I do not use my gas at all . I turned my gas fire place off and im still being chargered over 300 for gas alone. It only 2 people in my house and my water bill is 300 bucks , there is no way 2 peolple are using over 300 a month in water . evertime i call they can never give me abreak down on my usgae and i can not log into my account online . I called a requested to speak with a supervisor and was told they dont have any managers or supervisor that work there. Conservice is running a scam and getting over on people . I still have not got the email of the bill i requested. My next step is to start a law suit
Desired outcome: Please refund me for the over chargers and stop over charging me .
Trash bill
I am filing this complaint because ever since my complex switched to conservice last year I’ve seen a steady rise in my trash bill from 9 dollars a month to now 41 dollars a month. It is absolutely some kind of scam, because I know someone else who lives in the complex who gets charged a flat rate of 9 dollars per month. I called and addressed this and Conservice was not helpful or kind at all. They were extremely rude and could provide no explanation as to why the billing isn’t done fairly. They wouldn’t even acknowledge my problem which is that some people shouldn’t pay a flat rate if others have some weird formula they use to calculate the amount. It can’t be anything to do with size of apartment or occupants considering neither is 4 times the amount of the person only paying a flat 9 dollars a month. I will be filing more complaints with my property management company about this as well.
Desired outcome: Edit my trash bill to reflect and more fair and equal payment system. I should be paying no more than double 9 dollars a month. And credit me or refund me back all the excess money I have paid.
water and sewage bill
I would like to understand what I am being charged. I have lived in this complex 15 years, nothing has changed but age, but my bill is now almost 300. I moved in around 2008 and my latest bill in Feb. 2023 was 297. My parents who own a whole house a few blocks away don't pay near that. At times, we've been away the entire month and received a high bill. Please send me my meter reading or a breakdown of how the most recent bill was calculated. Thanks!
Desired outcome: itemized statement to my email: [protected]@yahoo.com
Gas and sewer bill!
We have been over charged for months (especially the last two) by Conservice utility and they keep going higher and higher. Truth is they are over charging us on more almost everything. Last month’s billing statement 11/23/2022 - 12/22/2022 bill due by 2/1/2023, account number ending in 7024, we were charged $159.31 for gas usage. We payed it and immediately, on 12/22/2022, we turned the gas pilot to the fireplace off! It has been off ever since! Now, this month’s bill they’re charging even more for gas we didn’t use! We turned the pilot off in December so that not even fumes could bleed through! It is still off! And now they have billed us $173.86 for gas we didn’t even use! They billed us this amount for the period of 12/23/2022 - 01/25/2023. This bill is due 3/1/2023. We cannot pay this. We have rent to pay. Also, we are NEVER EVER using the gas through the fireplace again because this is clearly wrong! The sewer bill was around $40 a month and now it is $90! We work seven days a week! We are barely home so how can we use the bathroom that much for such a high bill now!? We would like that $90 we are being charged to go back down to a reasonable price. I have attached the gauging of prices in our bills and a pic of the pilot off.
Desired outcome: We need that charge ($173.86) and removed from our bill and the sewer bill back to normal Asap before rent is due on March 1rst.
Overcharged water bill every month
I keep getting over charged every moth for my water bill. My current water bill that is due on 3/1/2023 is insane. I live alone in a 1-bedroom apartment, I travel out of town for my job, so I'm not home every night and my current water bill is $94.53? This is seriously ridiculous! This is the most highest water bill I have ever received in my life living in an apartment. Plus the sewer fee is just as much as the actual water fee. Which doesn't make any sense what so ever. On top of that the apartment complex that I live in has major water issues with their pipes. Where the water keeps getting turned off every other day for most of the day. So how in the world can one person that lives alone, who's not even in town half of the time, have a $94.53 water bill for one month? Especially when the water is turned off every other day. How can someone use water that isn't even there to be used? Please make it make sense. I would like to have this investigated asap. Because I am seriously being over charged. This has been going on for a few years now and it continues to get worst. This is not right to be over charged like this.
Desired outcome: I would like to receive a response from management asap please. Investigate water usage, a detailed bill, reduce current & future bills to actual usage & stop being over charged every month. Thank you! Ms. Byrd [protected]@bellsouth.net
Water/sewer bills while living in an apartment.
I live in Grady Square Apartments 2615 N Grady Ave. Tampa Florida. I have a water meter for my apartment managed and billed by Conservice. Over the months my usage/bills have been all over the place, but my last bill (for December 2022) was particulary disturbing. My water usage was logged as 50% higher than the month before despite the fact that I live alone and was away for one week of the month! Grady Square apartments placed the blame squarely on Conservice. I have been on hold with Conservice for over an hour now to talk to someone and this is not my first call. I have never gotten a response.
I feel that Conservice is either estimating usage and never checking or my meter is defective. Another possibility is I am paying for some other resident's water. I had everything checked to make sure their were no leaks.
An increase of $376.83 in sewer and water billing for month of jan 2023
My usual monthly bill for sewer and water ranged from $10.00 to $38.00 over the last year of 2022. For the month of Jan 2023 due in Feb 2023 I am being billed for sewer $188.82 and for water $254.31. I was told this is a reconciliation for only using estimates over the last 6 months. I cannot accept this explanation as the usage amounts do not correspond to the metered amounts. I request you send someone to check my water meter to ensure that readings are being sent accurately each month as it is unacceptable that I have to pay hundreds of dollars more in Feb for your underestimates throughout the preceding 6 months. My Conservice account no. Is [protected], name: Mario Paz y Mino, 1040 Kennedy Blvd, apt 209, Bayonne, NJ 07002. Mobile: [protected]
Desired outcome: SEND SOMEONE TO READ ENSURE MY METER FUNCTIONING WELL AND REIMBURSE ME FOR ANY CHARGES NOT RELATED TO ACTUAL USAGE OF WATER
Insane sewer and water bills from Conservice Utility
I rent a 1-bedroom apartment in Fairfax, VA. Starting August of 2022 ( 6 consecutive months to-date ), I've seen both my sewer and water bill from Conservice Utility more than QUADRUPLED! I have been fighting with both the renter mgmt and Conservice for 6 months and they finally agreed to send a technician over to investigate. He said my unit's water sub-meter was broken and replaced it with a new one. Guess what, after the replacement, my latest monthly bill now climbs WAY past the quadrupled marks for both sewer and water charges! I'm all for a class-action lawsuit against Conservice. It certainly looks like it truly provides "Cons" services!
Water/sewer
I called Conservice Customer Support to understand how the water/sewer bill is calculated. The Rep advised that the bill is based on a single meter for the entire complex. So the water/sewer bill is split amongst the occupants on the property per square foot of the apartment and tenants per apartment. The problem with this model is that the bill will never go down. If occupancy is full, the price goes up because there are more people per unit and consumption goes up. Everyone's bill goes up. If occupancy is down, the price goes up because there are less people to pay the share of total apartment complex consumption. So the tenants pay the water bill for Apartment Office consumption as well. This is price gouging. There's no way to provide any number value based on true consumption.
Desired outcome: lower the rate when occupancy is low. Remove the square footage calculation. Apartment size doesn't correlate to consumption.Tenants don't use water in the office so they shouldn't pay for pool refills and office workers consumption.
Conservice Utility management company
I stay in Essex community Lakeshore Landing in San Mateo. Single occupant staying in a small 1 Bed apartment with most of the time in office . My monthly utility bill is calculated as $165 with $66 for the Sewer alone. How can this be possible with two of more occupants apartments in the same community paying $180-$200 ? Conservice is not even sharing the details of my consumption and how the bill was arrived at? as a consumer i have full right to transparency to ensure i am not being overcharged. I would go ahead and file a case in small sessions court if I dont get proper details shared with me. even the Essex community is not of any help here.
Desired outcome: Need details of my consumption and how my bill is calculated versus the bill for the occupants in same building.
Water and Sewer
I 648018Live in an Apartment complex me and my wife we don't have a washer and dryer don't use the dishwasher also we don't have a water meter so how are we getting a bill if we doesn't know the amount of water we use each month they can't use and average utility expense to charge us. Want to know how much water we are using a month not an estimate bill. LINDEN AT Parkside Richmond Virginia.
Conservice water & sewer billing
My daughter and her roommates water and sewer bill continues to be outrageously high. Conservice charged $600 in Sept and $850 for Nov for just water and sewer. These ladies are in school all day and do not use the amount of water the meters are reading. How can you go from 5k to 20k gallon usage in a small apartment. Their neighbor's bill was not that high. There has to be someone tapping into their water and or Forbes has some incompetent maintenance guys who can't seem to figure out a leak. Please help. Daughter's apmt is Bridges on Forbes.
Desired outcome: Fix the issues. Charging $600 in Sept and $800 in Oct for just water and sewer is not justifiable. Check your calculations.
Over charging for monthly water/sewer usage
I live in Andover Park, Kansas City, MO. Conservice has been sending estimated water/sewer bills from June 2022 thru December 2022, resulting in over charges to several apartment units in this complex. My bills have at least doubled since being estimated. I am told Cohen-Eserey, the property owner is in contact with Conservice to get this resolved. I am...

In February I moved into a house in Cape Coral being rented by Invitation Homes. I was advised I should put the electricity under my name and the water, sewer and trash will be billed by Conservice. I did so no problem. I come to find out in May when I get a really high bill from Conservice including electricity and a vacant service charge that Conservice has been charging my electricity since March 10th. When I call LCEC to find out why I was advised someone from "SRP Sub LLC" called to cancel the service and place it under "their name". After seeing previous complaints I now believe Conservice is a scall being used by these rental companies to steal money from people. "SRP Sub LLC" is an entity of Invitation Homes. Why would Invitation Homes advised to put power under my name only to just switch it to cost me more money and unnecessary fees. Spent almost 2 hours and a "conference call" only to be told they'll remove the fee and reimburse me for the previous month I paid the fee for. If this happens again I will sue everyone and their mother! LCEC has the nerve to say that anyone who can confirm the name and or service meter number can call and start or stop service on a property. That needs to change. The meter number is easily accessible since it's outside of the property and anyone can go through my mailbox and see me name on correspondence. Electric service should only be altered if it's done by the person on the account after verifying social security number, to top it all off I asked if I can notified if that is done a second time or run it by me before its done and they told me the only way I can verify if the service has stopped is if I receive a "final bill". So ridiculous.
