Corbin Pacific Dual Touring Saddle for 2018 – 2023 Triumph Speedmaster

Ordered the seat using the configurator and paid the required £950.

On arrival, I unpacked the seat and noticed a a small tear at the front of the seat covering.

I informed Corbin via email immediately as I'm not prepared to fit a product costing so much money that has arrived damaged.

It was never fitted to the bike.

I have asked for updates and continually been given the runaround, using the global time difference as an excuse.

The original email and attached photos showing the damage was provided six weeks ago and I still have a £950 damaged seat sitting in the box.

Desired outcome: Either provide an undamaged order or provide a full refund

after pontificating for months, Corbin have confirmed they are not interested in fixing the problem - what a disgusting and disappointing experience.

I would NEVER buy anything from Corbin ever again and would recommend avoiding completely.

Corbin Pacific seat for my 2022 Harley Davidson Nightster

On July 17, 2022, I ordered a seat to fit my 2022 Harley Davidson Nightster. The seat arrived last week and while it is a lovely seat and well made, it does not fit my bike. The Nightster seat is hinged on the left side and a locking pin on the right side that secures it into the seat lock. The locking pin would not align with the seat lock, but after talking to a customer service representative I got the locking pin to better align to the seat lock. The problem is that no matter how hard you push on this seat the locking mechanism will not engagethe lock. The seat is hitting the bike frame and not allowing the seat to lock to the frame. This seat was sold to me as fitting my bike with a lifetime warranty. I have tried numerous telephone calls and emails to return this seat for a full refund, but to no avail. I spent $500 for a seat that is useless to me.

Desired outcome: A full refund

Corbin Pacific Front & rear seat

Purchased front and rear seat for 2017 BMW R1200GSA ON 10/27/21 from store in Daytona. I called before to confirm that they had both seats in stock. when I got there they only had front. I chose the lowered front seat and was told I had to order rear matching seat and it would take 5 weeks for delivery. Received rear seat approximately 3 weeks later to my disappointment. when installed with the lowest front seat you can see a big gap under rear seat that shows the latching pin as shown in photo. how unsightly is that with lowered front seat. I never would have bought that seat knowing it would look like that together. I called because I thought I got the wrong rear seat but was told the rear seat fits all 3 front seat heights and because I got the lowest one there is a big gap.

My other complaint is the fact that the rear seat does not lock properly and can be popped open by hand due to poor design and workmanship as seen in my video. For over 1000, 00 dollars those seats should be perfect aesthetically and mechanically and they are neither.

Desired outcome: I would like compensation for the rear seat as it is unsightly when paired with lowered front.

I drove my bike to the Corbin dealer in Ormond Beach FL. The bike is a brand new, 2021 Kawasaki Concours 14. It only had about 50-100 miles on it. Andy, at the Corbin store was very nice and had one in stock for a test ride. But he could not get the seat to go on, after banging and pushing and pulling on it and adding spacers he finally, he gave up. I...

Corbin Pacific Corbin customer service

Sorry customer service. On October 21, 2021 my son ordered a seat for me from Corbin. As soon as he sent the conformation to me, I contacted Corbin seats about adding backrest for the driver, they took the order and my $329. When the seat was delivered on November 10, 2021 the backrest was for the passenger. When I spoke to salesman, Christopher Michael, he said the seat I ordered for my 2015 Triumph Trophy only comes with a backrest for the passenger and that it was my responsibility to know from a picture that the seat I ordered only comes with a backrest for the passenger. So now I have a $329 book end. I understand that they can not reuse the cover but the metal parts can be reused.

Desired outcome: At least a partial refund

Corbin Pacific Fleetliner Saddlebags

On April 7- 2021 I bought Custom made Fleetliner saddlebags for my 2015 Honda Valkyrie from Corbin USA.
They were shipped from Dynamic Cycle parts to Australia.
The final bag arrived on May 27- 2021 I followed instructions attached to the paperwork, which is fairly basic mechanically I tried to fit the brackets and the bags to the bike, the result was pretty horrible.
It didn't fit at all.
I made lots of pictures and measuring the bags carefully.
My conclusion was and is that the bags are not mirrored images.
I contacted Dynamic Cycle parts many times Incl the attached pictures.
Also mailed Corbin direct but no result, the feedback from Corbin is absolutely disappointing.
There is clearly something wrong with the whole setup, In the 3e pic, you see the strain on the metal bracket.
This is in my view, not a good design.
I paid a total of $3, 463.00 US ($5, 180 AUS ) shipping + import tax in Australia.
I do have a mechanical background, and in fabrication, so no problem here.

Corbin Pacific Not nice customer service

Placed an order for a custom seat for my Honda. When I spoke to the man on the phone during the ordering process, I informed him I had VN custom hard bags on the back of my bike. He made no mention that their seats ONLY fit stock frames. After waiting weeks to get the seat, I tried to fit it to my bike but it wouldn't fit, not even close. I called Corbin and spoke with Johnathan who informed me that it wouldn't fit because of my bags and was then told "Congrats, you now have a $1, 265 conversation piece, thanks for your business" This company has HORRIBLE customer service. I would stay away from them if I were you.

Desired outcome: refund

Talked to them today about my seat, salesmen who took my order said it was his fault the seat was not right. He said I can't return it and I can't get anything off the seat. Worst customer service ever, how can you send out the wrong product and say you messed up but can't do one thing about it. Then he wanted to know If I wanted to talk to the manager, the same guy who hung up on me twice on the phone. I've been in retail for over 20 years and this is horrible how they treat someone who just spent $700 with your company.

Corbin Pacific blatant lie of replacing seat to denying everything about what I have receipts for

I was in Sturgis 2017, SD and stopped in at the Corbin trailer. I talked to Christopher who explained I had the wrong seat for the bike and wrote on his business card exactly what to do. I did this in October 2017. Now after contacting them, they said they never received the seat and I didn't follow the minatory return policy. Did I say I had Christipher's own writing what to do, signed UPS delivery tracking time and date. Even checked that the person who signed for the seat continues to work there!.

I sent this to Christopher - Sales manager of the Florida office: It is so hard to believe the experience out there, which was so positive, to now. Let me refresh your memory. My wife and I were out at the Sturgis Rally 2017 and I had explained my dissatisfaction with the seat because of the length of the passenger seat. You were kind enough to remove the fire/ice seat that your company made, and tried different seats that would make the passenger more comfortable. You stated that the seat we purchased through Classic HD was incorrect even though your operators told the salesman which one to order. You further stated your satisfaction of the seat is first and foremost and would do anything to make it right!

Furthermore; when your company received said seat, your company called immediately and said what is wrong with the seat. We personally mailed this seat to you so the dealer didn't know of our understanding. Classic hd got me on the phone and said Corbin just called - did you mail the seat back - or what happened? We explained the Sturgis trip and followed your instructions. Your company informed Classic that it will take between 4 and 6 weeks to get it back.

Fast Forward;
I believe in giving one the benefit of the doubt. From October to April is not acceptable! BUT now - you say you never received the seat; which is a blatant lie! Furthermore you said we now would have to prove we mailed it. Well: you not only have the receipt from UPS but you have the back of the business card you wrote on so there would be no issues.

Issues:
I have receipts for everything pertaining to the mailing/shipping of said seat.
I have no seat
You have my old one which is incorrect
You wrote the serial number of old seat and stated to me and my wife that you would personally take care of it.
The experience is less than favorable and want a resolution immediately.
If you wish me to go further in explanation I will be happy to - why would I know you rode your motorcycle to Sturgis let alone taking a few days off after the Sturgis Rally and possibly going to Florida. I know you probably saw thousands of people, but when we were there, which was for 45 minutes, nobody came to your booth!

I will never ever deal with this company again - furthermore - I would say to you - BUYER BEWARE

Corbin Pacific custom motorcycle seats

I have been riding Motorcycles since I was 12. I am 59 years old and have customize many motorcycles on my own. As one ages the Motorcycles seat gets to be more important than the look of the bike. I have own many different custom motorcycle seats, Saddle men, Mustang, manly for the cruisers that I have own and Seat Concepts for the dirt bikes I have own. This was going to be my first Corbin Seat.

The guys I ride with advise me not to go with Corbin. They said that yes they look great but are unconformable. Well They were right on a long over night ride I would recommend bringing a barrel on icy hot for your back and ice pack for your behind

That's not the worst of it. It all starting with wanting to get a custom made trunk for my 2015 Yamaha V-Star deluxe. That is why I started looking at Corbin. I never had a Corbin custom made seat before so why not. I placed my first order and was told 3-5 weeks for delivery. I show my wife the conformation number and she pointed out that my address was entered incorrectly. I rechecked the order I submitted against what Corbin had sent back to me and the mistake was on their end. I emailed them back and they corrected their mistake with no apology or reason for the mistake. This left me very unsure if I wanted to get a custom trunk from them.

The seat came in and was just what I ordered except it was almost as unconformable as my stock seat. I was about to order the trunk and my wife suggested that I order a back rest instead to see what it was like and then I order the trunk since it use the same type of pad. I could then use the back rest for myself and then order the trunk. I place the order and was sent the reply that it would take 3 weeks. I took five weeks and required me to call Corbin a few times to check to see what was happening. I was told that I would get an email when it shipped. I never got anything except a note in my mail box that I had a package at my local post office. So there it was my new back rest that cost almost half of what the seat cost and took five weeks to get to my house instead of three. Finally, but wouldn't you know it the back rest was the wrong color. Yes they mess that up as well. I called Corbin again and was told that I could send it back but it would take another 4-6 weeks to get it back. I wanted my money back but I was told that Corbin does not return money on special orders even if the mess it up. Well now I know that I never want to get a custom anything from Corbin.

Anyway I consider myself lucky in a way that I did not blow thousands of dollars on a trunk that they would have screw up. I placed an order today for a Saddle men seat and plan to sell this Corbin seat just as soon as possible. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Corbin Pacific defective product

I ordered a custom seat for my kawasaki sportbike. It looked ok when I received it, but when I turned it over... There was a big flaw in the molding. It was a 1/4"deep mold cavity about 2" long around the rear brackets. Fiberglass matter was loose and I was concerned since it was by the structural brackets. Also, I was not too happy with how the exposed metal "tongue" fits under the gas tank. It was literally a loose metal to (painted) metal contact. Not good. Finally, the seat would splay out the plastic molding on the sides. We all know how fragile that stuff is especially after a few years. They always seem to break at the mountain tabs. So, why stress those components at all.

I contacted customer service and was directed to the technical rep (jared smith). He responded that the molding defect makes no difference. I contacted him again about the other complaints and no response in over a week. I guess they just wrote me off as a typical bad customer. So, I have the seat on ebay and will probably take a $100 loss on it.

Don't buy corbin products!

Corbin Pacific the sorriest customer service i've ever experienced

I ordered a seat for my Suzuki DR-Z400S just after Christmas of '08; I called a few days later to ask them to build it up to make it more flat, as I hate feeling like the seat is pushing me toward the fuel tank. They assured me it would be done, but it arrived with the standard contour - about a 12-13 degree forward slant. I e-mailed customer service 3 times in March and April, but got no response at all. Finally, I contacted the Better Business Bureau which let me know Corbin has had 38 complaints filed through the BBB, and has responded to only 20 of them. I have documentation for all of this, and would like to let anyone considering ordering from Corbin know that they might end up none too happy. I'm thoroughly disgusted with them. Contrary to their advertising, theirs is the sorriest customer service I've ever experienced, or even heard of. Buyer beware!

Corbin Pacific Service

Ordered a driver's seat and an a pillion seat for a Daytona 675. When the seat arrived it was completed manufactured incorrectly and would not fit as a replacement. Called to report that the seat was not designed correctly and this started an over month long fight with the company to either refund my money or provide me a seat that worked.

After contacting the local District Attorney's office in the town that the company resides in it scared them enough to finally offer a new seat as a resolution. This company is not one to take care of their customers nor do they care if they treat you in a manner that is bordering fraudulent.

I had to fight with this horrible excuse for a company for over a month. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the DA'S office in their city that anything happened. In this market and current economy all I can say is I hope these folks drown.

Not one person I dealt with including Mike Corbin were either friendly nor apologetic for the bs I went through. I for one has personally changed over 10 people's minds in buying from them so that's my satisfaction. If they hope to survive they had better hire a consultant to turn around they're horrendous customer service.

If you buy a Corbin product don't expect good customer service, it sucks!

I purchased a Corbin Widowmaker to use with 2008 my Rocker C last October and was unable to use it until this spring. After using it one day I found that the seat had caused damage to my fender. I sent an e-mail off to Corbin regarding it and was told that the seat had been retooled because of this problem. When I first asked them to fix it all they did was apologize for the damage and said they would send me a new seat once the they received my old one.

It is now over one month later and I do not have the new seat and the only time I hear from them is when I send an e-mail asking for action on my seat and fender. After calling and sending e-mails several times with no response for about a month I was told that three people including Mike Corbin had looked at the pictures of the damage and this was their response:

"I checked into this for you and showed your pics to our production manager as well as Mike himself. We can repair the fender for you in-house. If you would like to keep the fender until a suitable time is available, we will repair it for you. We cannot issue any forms of payment or remittance for work done outside of our premises. We can make arrangements to have your fender picked up on our dime if need be."

Now I live in Minnesota and they are in California so I would be without the use of my motorcycle for over three to four weeks because of their poorly designed seat. My wife is also not able to ride with me because of their poor service, inefficient means of repair, and lack of a customer centered approach.

If you are interested in the correspondence between me and the company, please feel free to contact me, because their responses and analogies used were really poor. I would caution anyone buying a product from Corbin and would not recommend their product to anyone because their customer service sucks!

Since they didn't get the seat right the first time, what guarantee do I have that they would do a good job on my fender and how many times might I be sending it back before they get it right.

The only reason that I cannot get it fixed locally is because of a policy that Mike Corbin has set. They have pictures of the damage caused so it isn't like I am trying to rip them off. How happy would you be with a company that you had e-mailed three to four times with no response and called two times with no response to your inquiry? I am more angry about their lack of response, yet in the end I will be without a 2up seat for about two months and unable to go riding together with my wife and friends.

When I have had a problem with a product from other after market companies they have responded immediately and often helped me with the problem that went above and beyond. When a company does not communicate well it does not serve them nor their customers well.

I couldn't agree more. I ordered a seat for my Suzuki dual-sport just after Christmas of '08, called a few days later to ask about a change in the shape of the foam, to make it more flat. I talked with an employee first, who told me my request wasn't needed. Then I e-mailed my Corbin rep. with the request, then called and talked with him the next day. He said they would make it as I asked.
It arrived in about 6 weeks, standard dimensions. Going on their claim of great customer service, and web site request for my inseam, height, etc. for proper seating, I tried the seat, found it slanted forward so much I had to fight to stay away from the gas tank.
I e-mailed their customer service 3 times between Mar. 26th and Apr. 3rd; got no response. The Better Business Bureau filed my complaint with them, but let me know that Corbin has responded to only 20 out of 38 complaints the BBB has handled.
I hope this posting keeps someone else from buying from Corbin in good faith. In my experience, once they've got your money you're on your own. Expect nothing, because that's what you get.
