I beginning to wonder if Cracker Barrel Resturants food can be not safe. Yesterday my wife, myself and our granddaughter had lunch at the Cracker Barrel in Newnan, Georgia. We all ate some of the fryer Shrimp that my granddaughter order. Early morning the next morning starting with my granddaughter each of us got sick the only thing we had in command wa...

We were tired of cooking for the family on Thanksgiving so we thought we'd go to Cracker Barrel for a good meal in Shawnee Oklahoma. We were taken, the food was deplorable! the turkey and ham were hidden by the gravy and when we got through the tasteless gravy we found the turkey and on one side it looked like it had either been grilled or from the bottom...

This is the third time in a row we have gone to Cracker Barrel in Ocala, Florida for dinner and sat and watched one, two, three and more couples arrive and get waited on as we sat there with no one in site to serve us. We did see a server cleaning tables near us, but that's as close as they got. We left very unhappy. I do not know where the manager was, but maybe if they were cleaning the tables if they were short handed, we could have been served? We are locals and been here for almost 24 years and do not intend to ever go back there again.
How they serve the food.
We gone a few times to the Cracker Barrel in Chesapeake Va on the way home from NC. The food is almost always taste like it been reheated, been sitting there and not even warm. The last two times have been terrible. Order chicken and dumplings. Got only half a plate full. they put your side order in a bowl inside your plate. where your food is. So...

I started working in may and about a month after they said all new workers would get more hours they cut mine to 2 hours a week. I have a 7 month old baby and that's nothing, Then after two weeks of two hours they stopped giving me a schedule so I couldn't tell dcf or anyone how my week schedule went. And after all that they didn't pay me for my work. One day I deffinately worked at least an hour that week and I didn't get a dime, and the last week I worked 5 hours and I only got paid half of what I worked. Don't get a job at this store they will screw up everything.
horrible service
On Sunday 4/10/16 at 2pm, we (party of 12) waited 2 hours to be seated.
We were told 30 minutes when we arrived. We asked several times for a time and were told just a few more minutes. The whole time, they were seating groups of 4, 6, 4, 2 etc...The only reason we stayed is because we would have had to wait at another restaurant. After we were seated, one of our orders, a children's chicken strips with fries, had a melted blue crayon under the fries. Never once were we offered an apology for waiting or the crayon. We eat there often and is usually great service and food. We were told the place is under new management.
unethical behaviour
My family and I were eating dinner at the Cracker Barrel in Statesboro this past Tuesday (January 5, 2016) and were enjoying ourselves up until we got our food and heard something upsetting building in the kitchen area. As we were sitting together eating it became very clear that one of the managers- I am guessing he was the general manager- was incredibly...

Don’t place online orders on www.crackerbarrel.com. We have ordered last night from them, but the order hasn’t been delivered. The rep didn’t reply to our requests and we were shocked. It was unavailing to call them, because the phone was busy all the time. We tried to contact them today, but the same situation. No one replied. We need our money back, because we wasted about $70. Help us, please.
high cost of bottle water
My wife and I have been a customer at crackerbarrel for many years. The water they searve you in a glass taste like bleach, so we always got a bottle at the check-in station that cost $1.19 for a 12oz.bottle.There wasn't any there so we ordered a bottle of water
with our meal, it was a 20oz.size annd they charged $2.69 each, that is priced to high. You can get a case of 24x20oz. at Wal-mart for less than $5.00.We will not be going trere anymore until they take the (BLEACH) from the (FREE WATER)or lower the cost of bottle -water.

food and price change when the bill came
My friend and I went to Cracker Barrekk for lunch. It was Friday, so we both thought the fish dinner looked good. We ordered it. I had carrots, fish, and baked potato. She had a salad, fish and baked potato. We got our meal with 3 tiny pieces of fish that had been warmed up, Both of the potatoes were hard and we could tell they also re heated up. We didn't want to send it back as to not make waves. When we got the bill, they charged us 2.85 each for the potatoes. We were never told that it was a substitution and would be charged more for it, because at 9.99 for the dinner, seems expensive to me. I have dined many times at Cracker Barrell and was really disappointed tioday, Thank you

My son rarely gets any breaks at all and has to beg for the fifteen minute breaks he does get for 8 hours of work. He goes without a break at all roughly 2 out of three shifts he works. Whether you have never been to Cracker Barrel or go often, you should read this. It may completely change your outlook on the company. Before I get into my complaints on this company, I would like to say the things that I have to say are not lies. This is my experience with the company, in which I have obtained by working for them as a dishwasher.
This is not a good place to work. Often times, managers do not put enough dishwashers on the schedule. Someone in the company decided that bussing tables should be a dishwasher's job. This causes serious problems for dishwashers. Some nights at my restaurant, there are only three dishwashers in total. When one gets sent to buss, that leaves two to manage the dishroom. Trust me when I say that they do not pay enough for us deal with that. And it's not just bussing tables. Sometimes dishwashers get taken out of the dishroom, when it is a bad idea, just to go clean a bathroom or something that someone else should be doing. Dishwashers are pretty much treated like slaves.
The paid vacation is also a problem. Instead of the company paying what should be a 40-hour week check, it is usually whatever is scheduled the previous week(as long as it is less than 40). So, Cracker Barrel likes to keep money for themselves. Maybe other positions in the company would be better. I have asked to work other positions in the company, but they led to nothing.
Stop eating at this restaurant, if it's not asking too much. When you buy anything from this company, you are just giving them the power to rip-off their employees.
I must say that your complaints about staffing are unfortunate. I worked at Cracker Barrel (In Brookhaven, MS) for about six months as a Cashier/Retail clerk. We did not have staffing problems. We had large crowds most nights of the week. The promotional (PAR) system is great, and they provide great incentives for employees who wish to do the necessary tasks to do such. In the short time I was there, I was able to obtain PAR II Cashier. I also began cross training into hostessing. We got a decent discount, depending on your PAR level for merchandise, and food for ourselves and family when I was off, and we always got 1/2 off on the clock.
Probably about 70% of our employees attended the college I did, and the bussers and wait staff got great tips, and as a cashier, we recieved tips for to-go/phone orders and services such as gift wrapping. I cannot remember a single person there that was there when I started that was not still there when I left.
For a college student, I think the benefits were generous, and reasonable. I also know someone who waitressed here (Gulfport, MS) for ten years, and said there were years that with tips and wages combined, she earned about $ $50, 000 a year.
Maybe this is an issue specific to your location or region.I would definitely call the home office, or your regional manager if there has been no solution available at your store level. Also, come to work with a good attitude, and try to assist and cross train as you are able, and when times are slower. Show your management that you have the initiative to get out of the dish room, and they may help you out! Good luck!
Open door policy
I called home office about 3 weeks ago to talk to sumone about an employee that was wrongfully terminated, i left several messages. I wanted to use the "open door policy " i left my number so i could b reached but nobody ever called me back. I feel like i waz neglected. I recently had an interview with a manager at cracker barrel. I thought he was really rude. Every time he would ask me a question and I would answer him, he would just keep staring and staring at me. It made me feel really uncomfortable and awkward. He then made a comment that hiring me would be a complete waste of time because of my past job history. That...

We were a table of 14 and were being served our meals, when one of us changes our order, we could hear the mgmt team clear out into the dining area, @ out table yelling and swearing at our waitress. For what appeared no aparant reason.
Our waitress has asked that she not be given anymore tables, until she had her exsisting tables under control. She was getting over whelmed. I agreed, she had her hands full.
When our waitress appeared with our food, she was in tears... This is not right.
This young gal was doing her job, and doing just fine, until this out of control mgnt person rudely swearing and yelling was totally out of line and not one bit professional.
I feel corporate mgmt needs to replace mgmt. If they cannot handle their duties in a more professional way.

omg that poor girl, ...maye she had been messing up that day?
extremely poor service
On a Thursday night at 7:40 pm we waited for one hour for our meal and after three other tables got their food - that were seated after we had ordered our food, we walked out at 8:40PM as the waitress was bringing out our food. THEN Even when I twice typed in a complaint on their website they wouldn't take my complaint because I had typed too much and too long...run time error !
WE proceeded to Texas Roadhouse and had our meals and out of the restaurant in 45 minutes way to go Texas Roadhouse!

Discrimination
I stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Gonzales Louisiana with my family at 10:45 in the morning. The hostess sat the group of four people (the same amount as in my family ) before us. They were black and we are white. Cracker Barrel goes out of its way to discriminate against white people so they can prove they are not racist. We won't be going back
