Signed up 6/29/2022. 8/4/2022 walked in, scanned in, and the manager on duty stated he needed to take a picture for my profile. I declined and continued to walk in. He stopped and stated "no i have to take your picture". I replied " Sorry, but I read the contract and terms and no where in there did it say anything about you "have" to take my picture. It does however say photographs voluntarily at the club" under "Collection of Your Personal Information at the bottom of the contract. Voluntarily is clearly not mandatory. The manager then says, "It's a rule. I'm allowed to tell you verbally so it needs to be done"...I reply, "Show me that rule." He states, "I don't have to. Verbal is good enough. I'm cancelling your membership. Please leave. Have a good day". Crunch appears to have enough customers and money that they don't mind losing one. Totally fine. Not the only gym in town by a long shot. Some may say a pictures not a big deal, but years ago at a different gym, an employee took pictures of members profile pictures and created FB accounts with their pictures. Since then, i opt out.
Desired outcome: Enrollment fee returned. Was only a member for a month and a week and it was not my choice to cancel.
Personal training
I went to Burloak crunch location in Oakville on 5/2 and i enrolled for a personal training plan which they offer and i was promised i would achieve my goal in next 6 months.
However my trainer left in Just 2 months and i was not assigned any trainer for few months. I missed all my goals and i feel crunch fitness did not deliver the promise they made during signing the contract.
Desired outcome: I dont want any refund, i just want it to cancel.
Abusive Staff
Hello,
I’ve had to complain about staff members telling me to “Go” in the past, but it has been still happening,
On the weekend though, it has gotten more vocal, on the weekend I was walking to an area in the gym, when a female voice from the staff counter shouted out “Allan’s gone”
Also, yesterday evening as I was walking to the changing room a female voice shouted out “ I’m going to make sure that Allan never meets a woman here”
It must have been shouted for me to hear from so far away,
As I was walking out, the young man with brown hair was trying to make the woman say something bad, she was saying that she didn’t want to,
Was he working on the weekend and is he bullying the women staff in to being abusive?
Can you ask the staff to leave me alone, I’m not looking any trouble,

I have went to crunch for a gym membership in 2020 then COVID 19 happened, and that led to the gym closing. After the gym closed I ended my membership with them. However, they kept taking money from me every month. In addition, they left some months in the middle and then took money again, which is very bizzare.

Staff abuse
Hello, yesterday when I came to the gym at about 2pm, I was walking in past the staff member, she said “Go away “ to me, it wasn’t Tilly, but the woman with blond hair, I couldn’t see her name tag,
Today when I came in at about 10:50 am, the same thing happened, the male asain staff member said “Go” to me
There have been other occasions since I have joined that it has happened
I’m just trying to get fit and stay in shape without being made to feel hated and unwanted

Crunch fitness in Lancaster, PA.
I go to the gym daily, expecting a towel to clean what I use, many times, no towels, yet, the Spanish girl at the desk, is just standing around talking to others, and I feel this is unacceptable! I have never seen a gym run so poorly! It is morning hours during the week, at the Lancaster, PA LOCATION!
Poor management
Recent management change has resulted in extremely poor customer service, removal of services included in membership fee, rude staff members and a manager who has NO BUSINESS being a manager. Manager and staff have an attitude and make unsubstantiated slanderous claims with confrontational staff.
Desired outcome: Phone call from district manager and/or corporate office to discuss more in detail.
Cancelling my Trainer agreement and refunding me!
I joined Crunch Gym Garden Grove Branch starting April 18th 2022, I didn't pay an annual fee as I signed a contract to have a personal trainer every week, which entitles me to gym access. Last week May 20th, I texted my trainer that I need to cancel my agreement as I have to change my location to another state, he confirmed that I need to go in person to the branch to cancel, afterwards, I went immediately they stopped me at the doors claiming they already cancelled the agreement! it was offensive, embarrassing, and not acceptable to hush me and almost like go away! I reconfirmed if it's done already and the guys at the reception said yes Johnny will call ya as well to confirm...after a few days I found my card recharged! I called the branch again to have them confirm it was a mistake and will rectify it and refund. Johnny the manager will call to apologize for this incident and mistake, again to find my trainer texting me that to cancel, I have to email Johnny! What? I objected coz if this is the procedure, why did nobody tells me from the start, why you lied to me confirming it is cancelled, is it the first time to have someone cancel and you don't know the appropriate procedure? I don't understand what is that all about, and I refused to write an email now coz I did my part by texting and going in person and still they charged me, I want my refund and a BIG apology for wasting my time complaining and escalating as well...This is not what I expected when I trusted them on my debit card to deduct...I will circulate this message so anyone who wants to join them knows what kind of attitude they have and how Unprofessional. My name is vanessa, I am currently a member of crunch in the Marbach San Antonio Texas location. I want to cancel to membership and personal training contract for various reasons such as lack of professionalism, miscommunication between parties, and inability to provide services as stated in a verbal personal training conversation.
The membership and contract started in December of 2021. The personal training contract was for once a week for three months billed at $250.00 a month. In March of 2022 I decided to renew my contract for another three months and do two sessions a week. However, to my dismay I was billed $250.00 for the previous contract and $480.00 for the new contract in March. I had not been informed that I needed to cancel my contract 30 days prior to the end date, or it would be automatically renewed and be billed. I did contact the manager of the gym and was told there was nothing they could do to refund me even though I had renewed for a new contract. In the beginning of April of 2022, I called to cancel my contract since I was unsatisfied with the training and was not reaching my fitness goals. I was again surprised when I heard I had been signed up for six months instead of three months. I tried to work with the manager to reach an understanding and started working with a different trainer. I sat down with the trainer prior to starting sessions to go over expectations, planning and over all training. Over the next weeks the trainer did not communicate with me, missed sessions, or would not schedule me for sessions even though I would constantly reach out to him. It is the end of April now; I have just received a call informing me that I will have to work with a different trainer. I am extremely frustrated and tired of having to deal with all the ridiculous unprofessionalism and disorder of how this situation is being handled. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience and let me know of any further information I can provide such as proof for this allegation.

Customer professionalism
On April 22nd of this year a complaint from Crunch Fitness in Orillia was filed against me in bad faith to Empower Simcoe.
The staff member from Crunch Fitness had claimed that I had made her uncomfortable when all I did was casually chat with her for the past few years and it was not a problem until now. I tried to apologize to the staff member for any inconvenience I may have caused but she got another staff member to speak on her behalf. This complaint filed against me was unfair and in bad faith.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and I would appreciate that this staff member is held accountable so something like this doesn't happen again.
Wrong information and I paid more
I went to the crunch website to cancel my membership, In the website it was done , I called just to make sure it was canceled and the attendant said it was canceled but they charged me again this month , I went to the unit in Lynn in person to talk with the manager and it wasn’t cancel and they didn’t give my money back, it is no my fault.

Crunch gym continued to take monthly fees after contract was cancelled
My granddaughter signed a contract with Crunch Gym in New Port Richey, FL on 12/20/2021 but rescinded the contract the same day via telephone. However, the gym started debiting her bank account monthly, for membership fees, plus a $53 annual membership fee, for the following four months. She contacted the gym and was told repeatedly, her contract was still in force because she never signed a rescinsion document. I then became involved and contacted the Dept. of Agriculture who handles such complaints for the Fl. State Attorney's office. I also checked the Florida Statues. I will quote from a memorandum written by the office of Ashley Moody, Florida Attorney General, titled, "How to Protect Yourself: The Cooling-Off Rule," "Know how to cancel your contract. A sale for future services can be canceled by the buyer by notifying the seller within three business days from the date the buyer signs the contract. There is no requirement that the notice by made in writing." it further states, "Refunds for cancelled contracts for future services must be received within 20 days after the seller receives the notice of cancellation. The companys' stating one must sign a cancellation document is false, a deceptive way of attempting to skirt the law, and is illegal. Should you have this problem, file a Better Business Bureau complaint, citing this memo's language. Also files a complaint with the Dept. of Agriculture in Tallahassee, which handles these types of complaints for the state. This company is operating using deceptive business practices and illegal methods of stealing money from comsumers. They operate 42 gyms in the state of Florida so there is no doubt they have stolen many thousands of dollars using these deceptive and illegally practices. You can also file a complaint against this company by going on the internet to myfloridalegal.com; the state will then investigate this company. Hope this infomation makes you aware of the risk of doing business with this company. They operate 178 gyms throughout the country, I am hopeful the other state in which this company operates, also has similar comsumer protection laws.
Desired outcome: Investigate and stop Crunch Gym for fraudulantly/illegally taking money from consumers. Refund the money illegally obtained to the affected customers.
Refund
I went to pause my training and they still change my 700 dollars. They said under their BS contract, I would have to give them 30 day notice. I looked under the BBU and they have ripped off alot of members like myself. Looks like they have a bad reputation. I canceled on March 28, 2022. I never saw anything about giving 30 day notice. I hope my bank can issue the refund. The location to the gym is 24 Waterfront PL, Port Chester, NY. Gym has a bad name for themselves by taking advantage of their members.

I go to the crunch in midlothian va and I had a stroke and was told I needed to limit my physical activity but because the doctor didn’t say no Exercise I was not able to cancel my personal trainer now they keep trying to bill me for the service I don’t even use if anyone know it can be done about this please let me know thank you
